incorrect pattern despite entering the right one - Nubia Red Magic 3 Questions & Answers

My red magic 3 is now suddenly telling me that my pattern is incorrect. And I've noticed after entering the pattern the phone freezes for 3 seconds. I dare not restart my phone our of fear of getting locked out as it won't accept my face for unlock. Has anyone experienced this or any suggestions?

I haven't had it happen recently but I use to reboot and all would work normally.

yeah, it just happens from time to time, the thing responsible for identification crashes and won't restart on its own, but rebooting the phone fixes it

[Q] How to manually enter PIN code ?

Hi,
not sure if the problem is général or ROM related...
This morning after new kernel flashing, I rebooted, and at the same time was talking to some people.. so I looked at my phone at least 5 min later, and the boot process was done for long, and SIM card was locked...
I didn't find how to manually launch the PIN code identification process, had to reboot...
Is there a way to do it without rebooting ?

Not sure about this, but I think turning flight mode on/off will bring the pin id screen back.

I think I have the solution to your problem. I am using pbs shell 3d, and sometimes while it restarts (after booting phone) the pin screen does not appear. It seems to happen with a few launcher or similars to spb shell. It has happen to me quit offen. The solution is to install a task killer. If it happens again, drag the task killer and kill all runningprogrmas. The pin screen will appear straight away.

[Q] Random reboot after lockscreen

Hello,
My phone is almost a month old now and first two weeks were fine no problem at all. Now last few days it has been randomly rebooting itself when I swipe my lockscreen to open. It never does this when I am using the phone only sometimes when I'm unlocking the screen by swiping or just directly go from notifications etc. This happens like twice a day depending how much I use my phone.
I also feel like it first started to happen when I updated it. To be honest I am not sure what it did update. I also installed bunch of apps which I did delete later.
What should I do next? Factory data reset? Or is there a way to see the "crash report" or something to see whats causing it?
tldr; phone randomly reboots after lockscreen, what to do
Thanks.

After the update if some issues show up is recommended to do a Factory Reset. Start do that.

Agreed. If that does not work, re-flash the phone with a stock FTF to start over. If the problem continues after that, it must be some hardware issue.

I did that and didnt get single reboot yesterday. Too bad I didnt try this earlier. Thanks.
I am having the exact same issue.
Here is that I have done that didnt work.
Reset (vol up/pwr)
reset using red button by sim card
factory data reset
software install using pc companion
However, After each one I set the phone back up how I had it. I had the gmail widget on the lock screen. the phone would reboot at random times right after attempting to unlock. I removed the gmail widget and it hasnt happened since! I sat here locking and unlocking for about 15 minutes and it hasnt rebooted.
IN SHORT TRY TO REMOVE THE WIDGETS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
Hope this helps

phone turns off by itself

Hi, this happend already to me few times so I decided to put it on here.
Sometimes when I pick up my phone and try to unlock it nothing happens, fingerprint and button all the same it looks like it completely Off. Then i have to press few times a button to actually start it and it's booting. There is huge battery loss after it boot up. See image.
I am in Stock 4.0.2 no root just few standard apps installed. Nothing fancy. This happend already few times to me. I left the phone locked and when I want to unlock its dead. Also it is behaving weirdly, when I turn it off manually I just need to press longer a button and it's turning on, but here I need to press it few times to work.
Does it happen to anyone else?

Honestly, there's not enough information to understand exactly why it's happening. You need to get a logcat in the time before the reboot; unfortunately, logcats get erased during a reboot so it might be a little tricky getting it if the reboot is seemingly random. Someone had posted this as a possible way of getting the log:
"Retrieving the logs is tricky, since the log cache gets erased on reboot. If the phone reboots even while sitting on a charger, try running adb logcat continuously (you will need Android SDK and USB drivers installed and configured on your PC.) When the phone reboots, look at the last several pages in the command prompt window for any errors or abnormalities."

Otherwise, it's hard for anyone to help. I'm not much help in actually figuring out the issue, but I know if you can get the log, someone else probably can help.

Yeah I was trying to connect it to PC but nothing, so it is turned off. I will try next time to run command when turning on, maybe there will be something but I do not see it working before it gets erased. I was hoping that anyone else is having this problem so it might be rom related. It is completely random so you can;t guess when it happens.
I had it only few times so it's not super annoying but still it is not normal behavior. In addition it is weird that battery went from 55% to 33%, just phone reboot will not drain that much... I hope there is nothing wrong with the phone itself.

Check in advanced to see if schedule off is on
Nope it's off
Happened to me to on 4.0.2. Rebooted twice a day.
Solution to me was Qualcomm flash back to stock 3.5.1 and uodate from internal to 3.5.4. OTA 4.0.2.
The theard "how to unbrick".
Not one reboot until now in days.
I think I found a culprit responsible for it. It is Hill Climb 2 game which doesn't close properly sometimes and I think it causes some kind of crash in the system. Is it possible?

It's possible. Not necessarily the reason, but it might be. Either uninstall the app or freeze it using Titanium. Greenify might also work, but that allows the app to start itself up and potentially continue the issue. See if that stops the crashes for a couple of days.
The problem is that it doesn't happen often and only when I quit the game and lock the phone immediately after that. I am not sure if that's a reason though, just guessing because it happens after this last time. I will uninstall this game anyway, it's just time eater

(Problem) S5 G900A keeps restarting

Hi guys. This issue just started happening a couple of days ago, it started when I was playing games (phone wasn't hot) then it turned off by itself. My battery was still at 80% so I turned it back on, after it started saying "starting apps" it turned off again and the phone is now constantly rebooting. It doesn't seem to be bricked at all as it sometimes boots to the menu but when i start tapping on an app it shuts off and does the constantly rebooting issue again. It could be a hardware issue which means I'm gonna need to send my phone to the service center for a repair but one thing that makes me think there could be a way of fixing this without paying a technician is, when i boot to download mode, it doesn't do its constant reboot issue. I was even able to flash a firmware via Odin but when the phone started to boot after firmware installation, It did the spontaneously rebooting in the middle of the boot process again. If any of you guys have any idea on how to fix this or if there's even a way to, Please help me. Thanks! Cheers!

Try flashing the experimental firmware from the rooting guide, and if that doesn't work then it is most likely a hardware issue, and I have a strong suspicion that it is.
If you have an external SD card, remove it and see if problems persist. Honestly that sounds like a firmware scrambled.

Question mi 11 ultra keeps freezing

hi,so i got my phone with china rom which the seller bootunlocked it and changed it to the offical global rom like 6 months ago and from 3 4 weeks agao im facing a really bad problem, before that i got the problem that i tapped one time and the device would think i've tapped 2 times and it closed the app,i thought it's because of the screen protectors.but from 3 weeks ago i'm facing these real problems:
1-phone suddenly freezes for 3 or 4 seconds then it's responsive for like a second and again till i close all apps and then it gets a little better but after i restart which sometimes leads to a boot loop, it doesn't get smooth and normal, even after that, after some time like 30 40 minutes it freezes again. even the keyboard freezes.
2-if the freezing continues i get a "---- app is not responding wait close",sometimes the miui system shows the same error but if i click on the wait it wont crash or such, it justs behaves like it was before showing the error.
3-sometimes after the restart the battery percentage is shown 0, which i'm pretty sure it isn't. upon restarting again the problem solves.
4-sometimes in specific applications my tap is considered a holding and shows me the holding menu.
5-sometimes i get glitches and lines in some parts of google chrome webs which fades by just scrolling, specially if a video is playing on the web page.
the phone didn't got any physical damage in the past.
i've tried these but no avail:
1-updating the miui
2-disabling virtual extension memory
3-factory reset
4-flash and install the offical rom which somehow lead to a bootloop.
5-flash and install the xiaomi eu stable rom which didn't go on a boot loop but the freezing continued
6-flashing and installing the official rom which this time didn't got stuck in a boot loop but right after booting showed me the "miui is not responding" but i setuped the phone and it sill got the freezing problem.
i used multiple benchmarks and even filled my ram with some app to see if it's the stress leading to a freezing but all the scores were perfectly normal even for storage and ram and the phone wasn't freezing during the tests and benchmarks
sorry that the text got too long but i'm really desperate.
Try in safe mode to rule out a buggy 3rd party app. Run for a day or more.
If it fails that it may be a buggy system app.
Otherwise it may be a hardware issue.

so i entered the safe mode but it's a black screen with the text : safe mode under it .then it went to booting itself with some vibrations and the non ending mi logo on the screen.

Sounds like the firmware is corrupted. This normally shouldn't happen.
Possible rootkit, a hardware failure or perhaps a single event upset hit the kernel or bootloader.
A complete reflash (impossible with a locked bootloader!) will purge any malware, remedy a SEU but not resolve a hardware failure.
Make sure all critical data is redundantly backed up now. It may crash and burn at any time running like that. Not good.
Return for warranty repair if possible.
That's my take on it, someone more familiar with that platform may have a better plan.

For the latter a different rom may work if it bypasses the damage.

See my previous edited post. The issue may be the bootloader has been corrupted and/or a hardware failure. You're in way deeper than I ever had to go with the firmware on an Android.

Not if it's locked. Someone may know how to unlock it here, I do not. That may not be the issue though or the root cause... You're welcome but I'm afraid I wasn't much help.
Try some Google searches for that manufacturer and devices with the same issue. Add xda to the searches to search XDA, that works better than the XDA search engine.
