Hi guys, I have the following problem. My phone keeps turning off at random times. Today it happened more then 5 times. The problem started about a month ago. The phone started turning off at random times. So I did a factory reset with complete data wipe and it didn't help. So then I disabled Google services like Chrome, Disk, Gmail etc., Cleaned the chache as well. So this stopped the problem for a while. The I decided to turn back the services one by one to see if it works and it did work alright for a week or so. But since yesterday the problem got worse. I disabled the services one again but the problem stays. I should point out that about 6 months ago I send the phone for a battery change and it was done in official OnePlus service center with OEM part. So the battery should be fine. What I noticed is a huge battery drain on the phone while is turnes off. I attach screens showing the drain and that it had about 1,5 hours of screen on time. There is barely any app on the phone. I use Edge instead of Chrome, I have Viber plus three or four other apps to try keep it simple. Can you help me with that issue?

Just wow. I have exactly the same problem. I also changed the battery 6 months ago like you did but myself with eBay battery. I was thinking it has something to do with the battery cable not connecting properly but the battery was changed 6 months ago and the problem started 1 month ago like yours. The eBay seller is sending me a free replacement to see if it works. I also tried formating ,wiping cache etc but nothing worked. I have no issues with battery drain at all though. The new battery works fine. Sometimes I notice a little overheat that I have never seen before in the 3 years I use as a daily driver. Also sometimes when it powers off, the only way to power it on is by plugging the charger.

well... I think is "normal" is it got stuck at boot or restarted itself... that "normally" happen when flashing another rom: you have a #% when doing TitBu and those stuff then you flash a rom and when finally bootup you got [usually] -#% and since it was from boot to boot it can't get the correct graph... or at least thats what I think
not normal i think... i've seen thing like this once - with older version of Zeus (don't remember which one exactly). When i had SoD, after i remove battery (warmer than usual) and put it back, the graph was similiar.
its either a self boot or an sod.... ive experienced alot of these myself =P.... the screen goes black then when you press the power button repeatedly goes very bright then it reboots then the battery chart gets cut off like that.....
for my part i think its mostly cos i install and uninstall alot of apps (even those that are not supposed to work for our ob) so im pretty sure its not a rom problem cos i dont see anyone else talking about it....
i posted sometime back on another thread abt my phone always losing 3g and rebooting itself (after what seems like the 3g hangs) but that problem, (although not for its intended purpose) has been solved for me by using the FD off patch that Huexx posted for his rom.
it could also be (im guessing here) due to not clearing old data (ie battery charge levels) after flashing a different rom... i read somewhere that someone has an almost similar problem coming from froyo to custom rom. something about the battery charge remembers the charge and discharge levels from the prev rom and cannot charge/ discharge properly with the new rom causing the erratic power levels.... its something like... in your picture, shows that it rebooted at 90% and went to abt 80% cos in actual fact you have used your battery to 80% just that the system failed to update this in the background hence it forced itself to reboot to get the proper reading again... again for this last part im really guessing....
by the way my phone has not any problem sod fc or restarting etc. everything is normal except battery graph.
Hello.
I bought this

Might not be your power bank, try using BBS to find out
After a day i can confirm is NOT the power bank. since this happened in the past 3 days
i used Airplane mode all the night to see if some a is Wakelock my phone and got just 3 % of battery usage with the power bank attached, so i manage another test since BBS told me is Android System RIL or something like that.
Second Test: Disabled 3G+ Connectivity for 2 hours and enable just GSM 2G and just got 4 % dropped ( i make a few calls and used whatsapp so is OK), i think is 3G becuase where ilive is outside the city and recently we got a heavy storms (causing shoutdown of the nearest anntena) i have low reception rnothing and 3g running so i think my phone is using more battery trying to acquire more signal and 3G support.
Hey all - I was astounded at the Turbo battery life when I first got the phone, and it's behaved normally until about two weeks ago. Since then, I've been lucky to have it last one day. I really don't use my phone very much; maybe five or ten brief calls a day, an hour of surfing, some wifi hotspotting, etc. My first thought was some sort of draining app, and the phone had been bugging me to OTA upgrade forever, which I didn't, because I rooted with mofo. So I took the plunge on Sunshine/bootloader/5.1 and at first everything seemed fine, but I'm experiencing the same kind of things now. I'm at 36% now, having spent eight hours today outside doing yard work with the phone in my pocket. I did a bit of browsing, texting, phone today but not much.
I'm wondering if my phone battery, like all batteries eventually, is at the end of its life. I'm going to NYC early next week and really don't want my phone to be dying while there. Here's a screenshot of my battery usage today:

FWIW I didn't open Google Play today, so perhaps it was updating apps automatically - but I really don't have very many, so that shouldn't have taken massive amounts of battery.
There's a LifeLine place in town that's been good about replacing screens in the past so if it is my battery, I may take it to them.
Many thanks for your input!
Did you flash a new ROM or do a factory reset? Sometimes it helps to wipe the system and data partition (not user data, back it up just in case) and start fresh. At the very least I would wipe cache.
Other than that, you can try wakelock detector, restricting background data for Google services, and toggling all connectivity and location settings off then back on. One of those battery stat reset apps works sometimes as well.
I would say the battery is on the decline if you start fresh and don't see excessive wakelocks, yet it still doesn't last as long as you expect.
Good luck.

Many thanks, Spyder - actually I think I may have figured it out! I noticed that Google Play Services was taking an inordinate amount of battery, and read that a recent update may have messed things up. So following some instructions I found I uninstalled updates and then reinstalled them - and it seems to have made a huge difference!
Many thanks for these excellent ideas, however - I love this forum!
Hi guys
S10 5G (SM-G977B) owner. Been using since launch. Exynos version with latest update - G977BXXS2ASJ7.
Always recharge to 80% battery to maintain health for lifespan of phone. Avoid leaving it plugged in overnight.
This looks like a bug that I have noticed following the last major update which introducted a bunch of Galaxy Note features such as Samsund DeX for windows.
Phone will literally hold 4% charge for hours. Picture attached. Is there a fix for this or is this a known issue? Couldn't find anything online with all posts about high drain touching on the usual suspects (always on display, 5G switched on, performance mode, screen brightness etc)

Have you tried a factory reset? Or ever done a clean install using Odin files with CSC_OMC?
I'd suggest factory reset as this seems like a glitch with your device. It's definitely not a known issue with the 5G or any S10 variant.
Hopefully it's not a battery or other hardware issue that's apeared. But the reset will help rule that out. It's a good idea to do it once in a while anyway.
Also, not charging overnight, and only charging to 80%, is saving you next to nothing on long term battery life. Unless you plan to keep the phone for something like 4 or 5 years, you'll see absolutely no difference in the life of the battery over the next years or two by doing that. You're best to charge to 100% and get the full 100% charge during the day.
Thanks mate. No factory reset yet attempted. Always painful re-synching all the apps and 2fa services so generally try to avoid. I have attempted Davlik cache wipe but that made no tangible benefit. Accubattery reporting 85% battery health and this is despite my battery babysitting ways (3774mAh actual vs 4400mAh design)
I've had my SM-T810 (Tab S2 9.7, wifi) for four or five years now. A year ago, half of the screen began flashing brightly if I tried to use it on low brightness. To solve this, I turned up the brightness a bit and used the app Darker.
Over the last few weeks, things got much much worse. The tablet required more and more brightness to avoid flashing, it would stutter when playing videos, and responsiveness was slow. Every so often it would lose WiFi connection when my other devices didn't have trouble connecting.
Today, there has been some type of catastrophic failure. I was watching a video, when suddenly the video stuttered, froze, and the tablet became completely unresponsive. None of the buttons worked at all. It would not turn off. After about 15 minutes, the screen began its old flashing routine...and then something new happened: the flickering was joined by colorful lines, and about five minutes later the tablet shut itself off. It had become quite warm around the volume rocker/card slot area.I can't turn it back on, but if I plug it in, it shows the battery percentage. The tablet has never gotten wet, and it hasn't been dropped recently. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Is the battery indicator dimmer than normal? Normally I would just assume at least the screen is bad, but since the charging indicator seems to work? Perhaps you should try download mode? Odin over fresh firmware? (You will lose data on the tablet though)
No, the battery indicator doesn't seem dim. I'll have to try your suggestions. I'm starting to think the motherboard is bad, and that would help me determine if it is or not.

Maybe some files in EMMC corrupted? Then if ODIN works it might get it back to life.
