Hey guys, so I'm kinda new to rooting, unlocking etc. I own a Huawei P20 Pro CLT-L09. Software Version is 9.1.0.380.
I searched for ages on how to unlock the Bootloader of the P20 Pro. Some say I need to open my phone, some say I have to buy a code somewhere. I feel really overwhelmed. What can I do to unlock my Bootloader? Would really appreciate some tips.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!
You should mainly just trust the articles from XDA.
I found your post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...ei-p20-pro-clt-l09-unlock-bootloader-t4068475
I think you should just wait for further answers on XDA regarding this topic.

I C DC-Unlocker can't read the bootloader UL Code but....
It can apparently unlock the bootloader directly though
Has anyone here on XDA tried this unlock on the P20 Pro?
I will prob try it even if no one answers but, it'd be nice if someone can tell me if this works before hand.
After unlock, rooting should be rather straight forward, and I will upload a post on the process if I'm successful
@-Alf-
And just BTW: There is always a way to root any phone.
It's just a matter of how bad you want it.
Theoretically ANY Huawei (or any device really), can be rooted by opening the phone up and using test points etc.
Take a look at PotatoNV
That being said, I STILL (after years) haven't found a way to root my LG G6. But, then again...I'm not about to risk opening the phone to root it. If I ever have to repair the phone I will prob try to root it.

Sorry for very late response, but your best bet is to buy a timed license for HCU Unlocker and DC Phoenix to unlock the bootloader. I succeded with these programs. There is this [method](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/huawei-bootloader-brute-force.4151859/), but be aware that this is the cause of global warming (trust me, I tried it and gave up, there is no guarantee that this will work). If you pay for HCU and DC Phoenix I can provide the firmware for you.

And if you use Windows 11, be sure to disable Memory integrity. It can interfere with the drivers you install (both Hisuite and handset drivers), which will make phone not found while in rescue recovery.

If you rebrand and install the correct firmware, it is possible yes. However, it's not likely to be possible to do this for free in the near future.
Regarding when the update comes out, whenever Huawei chooses. We have no way of knowing.

actually the Mate9 Community was able to bypass the authentications via modding the stock recovery. Im pretty sure this can be implementet in every recovery. This gives us the possibility even to bypass duraaas Funkyhuawei and flashing upgrades completely free, so god bless were back to the roots... Modding and rooting for free. if you did something wrong, reflash the stock firmware and try again. Without getting dared to spend much money.
Regarding from duraaas eyes its unfortunally. It was his daily business, earning much money. ASAIK its even unlegal to use employees updates ( Like the 5.1 Beta ). And im pretty sure its even worser for money :/

Based on DxOMark's review, the P10 score 87 points while the S7E scores 88 points. Maybe the P10+ scores better, no idea but personally, i find the P10+ camera better compared to the S7E. That's just my personal opinion.
As for the new ROM update, it did fix the Google voice issue we had with the earlier ROM. Apart from that, can't tell of any other difference.
Maybe others would like to add based on their experience.

Only way of getting a P20 Pro with an unlocked bootloader is to buy one that's being sold with one, I think.
From what I've read, DC Unlocker will not be able to grab the unlock codes.

Link seems to be dodgy.. It is not clear whether the request will reach Huawei?.. The form is collecting device info including IMEI and I am not comfortable sharing these information unless I am sure whom am I sending to and how Huawei will be notified of my request. Guys unfortunately at this time it is not possible to unlock the bootloader. End of story I'm afraid.
The Bootloader code must be somewhere in the device.

The code is not in the device, you need to output a code, i think the serial number to a website which in turn will then transfer it to another code.
It's possible that it could be cracked so you would know what the output is from a particular serial number, but good luck working that out.
The only way it's going to happen is if someone cracks it, or Huawei reverse their decision.
we have to press, e-mail and collect signatures in change.org.
Let's see if we are lucky
Hey guys,
I only have one easy question:
I got the old phone from wife(pra-lx1), 8.0.0 installed.
Is there any working possibility to unlock/Root the phone anymore since Huawei dropped it's webpage for this?
Any working tutorial which is useful? I've have never seen anything working so maybe anyone has an idea how to unlock it.
Thanks in advance!

You can try "DC Unlocker -> Bootloader unlock for Huawei devices " from the playstore.. It costs between 1€ and 16€ per unlock .. unfortunately I havent tried their method .. since the IMEI way they once offered is gone (probably due to huawei disabling the service) .. so you can only try to read the code from your phone's bootloader which may or may not work ... they offer a refund if it doesnt work
Thx I gonna try it! Look @ Huawei's answer. It's a shame!

Yea, already read about it in a german forum, when they announced it in may '18 ... a sad thing they say "improving customer service" when in truth they reduce the service .,.
True thing though that many people bricked their Huawei P / Honor device but only because Huawei blocked all easy ways .. I still remember how easy it was on my good'ol' Galaxy Nexus (3) .. and at that time it was still considered obligatory to offer easy ways because rooting and modding was "fair use" .. Heck they even successfully sued the first manufacturers that tried to block rooting because of this "fair use" practise .. what happened to the world

No, I didnt pay (yet) - because nobody could show a way to root my PRA-LX1 running EMUI 8.0.0..374 without bricking it.
Doesnt make sense to pay unless I can reliably continue unlocking

Yes, I had Android 8.0 and Emui 8.0. I wanted to install a custom rom but I had a lot of problem, I installed TWRP but had a lot of Error 7; I nearly bricked the device but it has started eRecovery by itself and repaired - but this is another story...

Yeah see Roms and other kernels here in xda all. In. One flash tool is good.
But at the moment bootloader isn't unlockable. For Huawei p20 pro, so you need to. Wait a short time.
(since a month Huawei. P20. Normal was unlocked) so wait....
Of course it's possible to unlock bootloader. It's paid and quite expensive but there are at least three suppliers who offer it. Just do some searching here or in discussion section. Development is not in mature stage though.

Hey guys.
Just wanted to tell you that the codes are available again.
Ministry of solutions only supports the Chinese models.
Funky Huawei should support all.
I had placed an order over a month ago so I'll send a support ticket to see if there are any news.
Update: On funky Huawei, it says that you can buy it but when you're on the according page, it says that it currently isn't available.
Update 2:
The funky Huawei said that I'll get a code or a refund within 14 days.
I had placed an order on 11 January.
Update 3:
Funky Huawei is down. Ministry of solutions is in "testing". Global unlocking solutions promises to deliver but only accepts credit card payments.
I don't remember the site, but one of the other thread had a link to another site that provided working unlock codes.
Just read through a few thread. I think it was here.

After OEM-Unlock is available in new Versions is there a need for unlock-codes?

OEM Unlock allows you to pass unlock code for unlock. Without OEM Unlock option Enabled this unlock code is useless.
A stupid question. Will i loose the code if i flash or update a custom rom? Or flash a second rom later. Is it for ever? Thanksssss
Hello ,
Funky Huawei refunded my money today.
Unlock Codes seems to be back for chinese models only.

I've never tried it before but you should need the code only once.
Keep it somewhere safe anyway, just in case.
You can use it multiple (if it's even necessary).

That's very unfortunate.
I was told that I will either get the code or a refund within 14 days.
But if I remember correctly, that was said from the beginning.
All models are supported but there's no guarantee that you'll get the code for every single device.
Oh man... Is FH seriously only going to unlock Chinese phones now? The unlock codes shouldn't be tied to any location, I wonder why they would do that?

1) Like I've already said above, they provide codes for every region.
2) Even if it's just for the chinese models like with "ministry of solutions", it's because of Huawei themselves.
Have anyone experience with this Site?
Waiting for my payment-link...
