bluetooth microphone and microphone level low after android pie update! - Moto G6 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone! I am looking for a fix for my phone after updating to Android Pie. My Bluetooth microphone is low, as well as a wired headset volume. This was not the case before the update. I have restarted the phone, set the phone's audio to mono, and still low volume. My wife turned the volume all the way up on her phone and it doesn't matter. I even went to developer options and shut off the Bluetooth moderation setting.
Any suggestion short of rooting me would be much appreciated.

Have you tried reflashing the full firmware? Backup everything (photos/music/videos/etc) and then reflash the entire firmware. It will fully reset/format the phone, but it should fix it. I had that problem from an OTA update in the past, and that was how I was able to fix it.

Can you point me in the direction of a guide on how to do so? I am really reluctant to brick my phone, don't have a backup if this fails!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but that is what I used to reflash the firmware. Everything else pretty much works except for the low volume issue.

[SOLVED]I can't hear a thing!

Hi. I just upgraded from CyanogenMod 3.6.8.0 to 3.6.8.1 (I had a theme put on) and it gave me an error while updating. I used the Incremental Update package.
After that, I realized that I couldn't hear the people from the other end of the line, though the could hear me. Then I tried puting it in speaker, and it worked fine. The headphones also work.
I wiped the phone and installed CyanogenMod 3.6.8.1 from scratch, and nothing. I reupdated the radio to the latest, and nothing.
Any idea of what happened, or what should I do?
The Radio is 2.22.19.26I
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried downgrading your ROM to make sure it is something to do with 3.6.8.1?

... hardware error? Are you sure that the ROM flashed correctly? Incomplete flashes can be a problem... Maybe try flashing RC29 and see if you get audio there. If you do, re-root and reflash the ROM that you actually want.

If it is (and your phone is not under warranty), the speaker is easy to replace. I have a second G1 with a bad speaker. Took me about 5 minutes to get it out (can do it in under a minute now that I have done it a few times).
The speaker is about 45 dollars on the internet (just google it).
I'm not sure how, but now it's working. I wiped and flashed the 3.6.8.0, but I had done that before, so I'm not really sure... Anyways, thanks, and I'm relieved it wasn't a hardware problem.

[SOLVED] My Xperia t touchscreen suddenly doesn't work anymore

Yesterday I went to a party, nothing wrong with the xperia t. When I got home I let it recharge. I think it still worked at that moment. Pretty sure it did. Went to sleep. Woke up. My phone battery was empty lol. Still in the recharger. Did some stuff, let it recharge some more. Got it to boot up again. Now touch screen doesn't work anymore . Tried wiping cache, factory reset. Still not working.
I have cm-10.1.3-RC2-mint installed. I think I might have to update it. This could be the problem.
Any more tips for if it doesn't work? never had this problem before. I hope it is a software thingy.
I updated the firmware but still doesn't work. I think im gonna re-install the stock firmware, and flash a stock kernel which will unroot my mobile. Any tips? please? I can't use my phone at all atm. It just stays at the cyanogenmod install screen..

I would like to try that thing with adb, but as I have already reinstalled cyanogenmod, developer options/debugging is turned off. I can't use ADB. Unless you know another way.
So this is totally getting out of hand.. (and I don't know if that is also a english expression lol).
I tried reflashing a stock firmware. Worked, but touchscreen still doesn't work. Then I noticed, that I now don't have cwm anymore... how the f?
SO I probably forgot to exclude the kernel. So now I tried reflashing a kernel with cwm, but flashtool doesn't recognize the kernel files... I don't know what is going on..
Ah already found the problem. Got cwm back phewww..
So here is what needs to be done. I want to try gregbradleys adb shell fix but my usb debugging is off and this means that I can't use adb, as I don't have touchscreen.
So, is there any way, any way at all, to enable usb debugging without touching the screen? Maybe a kernel with that settings automaticly set?
Im getting a bit angry at my phone now.. I didn't even do anything to break it in the first place. Just tried recharging it, and that killed the touchscreen? lol. Help will be appreciated. Im out of ideas.
Get a usbotg cable and attach a usb mouse
Then use that to turn debugging on
When you flash a stock firmware you lose recovery.

thanks, I'll get one tomorrow. I hope it will help. You've helped me before so im pretty confident that you fix my problem again haha. You are a boss.
A non responsive touch screen happened to me too after I flashed a wrong firmware. I flashed back the version that was on before, but it didn't help. Only after I flashed this (pretty old) version Xperia T - 7.0.A.1.303 Generic DE with Flashtool, the touch screen started to working again. I am not sure, maybe any ftf would work. But I know that I had success with this one.
You should try gregbradleys method first though. Funny, that your touch screen stopped working, without you modifying anything. Hopefully it's not a hardware problem.

hmmm, I tried this and it worked. problem solved. I did however not have wrong firmware installed, but it was an rc2 version of cm. So it can be unstable and stuff, but this was kind of a big problem.

[important] compulsory to read for those who fota update to 4.3

For those who update to android 4.3 via Firmware-Over The Air (FOTA) and having sharp eyes may notice some bugs due to the leftovers of /data of android 4.2.
Here is a list of bugs I found :
- Sony Select takes forever to load
- Xperia with Facebook takes forever to sign in and load
- Ui layout issue when uninstalling app
The first two issue is rather easy to fix.

Also Sony have completely knackered the Bluetooth stack... When I first got my z1 it was on 4.2 and would connect to my car audio system (navi 800 in a 2011 Vauxhall insignia) with no problem, allowing me to make and receive calls using the voice control on hands free.. After the update to 4.3, it connects but will not make or receive calls.. I contacted Sony who more or less said it was the audio systems fault! They obviously have done zero regression testing at all! I have tried the audio with a s3 which was running 4.3 upgrade with no problems.. If Samsung can make it work why can't Sony!
If anyone knows of a fix for this I will be extremely grateful!

Did you try the factory reset? Before that, I would delete the from phone from the car and the car from the phone, then re-pair. If that doesn't work, factory reset. If that doesn't work, reflash the 290 FTF.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.. I will try that today... What is the best way to reflash the ROM? Using the Sony companion or the flashtool thingy? Also, what ftf file do I need?
I also remember that there is a red button by the sim card slot to reset the phone? Or do I use the options in setting?
Sorry for all of the questions!

This button is only to force the phone to turn completely off. It does not reset anything. Make sure that's what you tried for the reset.

The only proof is really to flash back to 4.2.2 and prove that's what did it. Sorry, there's not much else I can recommend here.
I installed a fresh with flashtool, wiped all data and still have that 3rd one with the UI layout when installing and uninstalling apps.

Unfortunately, you may be up the same tree as @nalab1 and need to flash back to 4.2.2 to see if it's strictly a 4.3 issue. Otherwise, the only thing I can suggest is to cast a wider net and see if any other phones are having issues with Bluetooth and 4.3.

Hi,
I have just had a look at the FlashTool Guide and saw this -
- Red: Firmware selector to selct the firmware you want to flash
- Blue: this will display the firmware content
- Green: Wipe options, you can choose to wipe certain things here
- Purple: Exclude options, this is to exclude content like kernel or baseband from flashing
- Orange: verification check, you don't need to edit this option
Are there any recomendations as to what to select in the Green/Purple/Orange sections?

Xperia T - Not possible to turn on Wifi after Updating to Android 4.3

Yesterday I updated my Xperia T to Android 4.3 via Sony Companion Software. My phone is not rooted. Everything apperently went fine, but after the Update process I wanted to turn on my Wifi, but it did not work. I tried that from the quicksettings and form the settings directly. The button remain grey for a certain time and the turns back to off.
I turned off my phnone and on again, but a white triangle with a screw came and the phone remained in that status for more than 6 hours. After that it turned on, but the Wifi problem remains. Regarding Bluetooth, that works fine.
What I noticed is that when I check the phone info and the Wifii settings, no MAC Adress is listed there for Wifi. I don't think its a hardware problem, because everything was fine before updating.
What should I do? I am afraid to turn my phone off bcause it could go back to the white triangle remaining for several hours in that state. I dont think a factory reset would help, because there seems to be an update problem and I would like to rather not loose all my settings.
Any help would be very appreciated, because I urgently need wifi in my university.......

The ftf file is the stock Rom, you can find it here on xda. Flashtool also. Flashtool only works if you have windows xp, vista 7 or 8. Not on 8.1. Repairing it using pcc should be easier though

Unfortunately, reparing it with PCC did not help and I am quite desperate. I bought the phone last year as a used one. I am quite a newbie in this field, but could it be, that the rom installed is an altered one and a normal update via PPC leads to this Wifi problem? Normally that should not be the case, but how can I find that out what is causing the problem and what must I do to overcome this drama of mine. I whish I didn't perform that update, because everything wAs working fine before.....

ok what u need to do is root your phone first . they are some threads that show u how to do it i recommed after rooting jus use this rom
httphttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647459
to root unable debug mode in settings/developer
and unknown sources in settings/security .. first u will have to go back to 4.1.2 to root ur phone and then follow the above instructions
Look at these threads, it can help a lot:

A factory reset would definitely work. You don't know how many times I've seen people (even with different phones) have problems like these because they change their Android version and/or flash different ROMs without wiping their partitions, i.e., doing at least a Factory Reset. If you were rooted you could try deleting the "wpa_supplicant.conf" file in /data/misc/wifi. The problem is, since you're already on 4.3, there is no sure way to root 4.3 unless your bootloader is unlocked. So unless you find out a way to backup your data/settings, you're either going to lose it all when doing a Factory Reset, or downgrading to 4.1.2 (to root), or even flashing a stock 4.3 FTF, because I'm sure your problem is that you haven't wiped.

Moto G6 (XT1925-6) - No Audio HELP!

Hi all, i have a Moto G6 (XT1925-6) and it does not produce audio of any kind.
No Audio on Speakers or Earphones
It does not detect my Earphones either, i've tried multiple ones that work on other phones.
Phone app goes unresponsive.
Sound app goes unresponsive, sometimes it works and i get to the settings.
Is this a software issue or hardware issue.
The phone fell in the past the back glass was shattered and removed. It was brought to me by a friend and he claimed the audio worked.
SEEMS I POSTED IN THE WRONG AREA - Someone move this to the proper place please. :<

Flashed it, didn't work.
Will try to re-flash the phone and include that in the commands using "fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin" instead of "fastboot flash dsp dspso.bin".
I know the speakers work, I got that "Hello Moto" Sound the other day when it powered on.
Additionally alot of the apps/ settings go unresponsive giving the "Close or wait" options.
Hey I was having a similar issue but in my case people could not hear me when I was calling them and vice versa, no ringback even. adding an a to dspso fixed it for me personally so thanks for the idea. I've been using only text the past few days and it was getting aggravating.
Update!!!
I've gotten the audio to work!
The speaker thats located at the top seems to have been the issue.
The speaker works fine, the problem seems to be that the speaker is not making proper contact with the terminals.
I got the audio to work by squeezing the front and back of the phone at the top where the speaker is located while the phone is booting up.
The phone goes wonky and you're unable to use it properly if the speaker is not connect.... somehow.
Be advised: Squeezing too hard may result in damaging the digitizer... which unfortunately happened to me.
