Hello a while ago I switched from apple to Huawei and want to root it.
It has the Android 10 version
Compilation 10.0.0.180 (C605E7R1P5)
Bootloader is currently locked.
What can be done, is there a solution? Can you download the version of Android 10?.
Thanks.

Not entirely correct.
Not if you've already bought one. You can get it rooted, still.

If my post is not entirely correct I'm always happy to be corrected (it's called learning)
I've also got a radical idea, why not answer the OP with the details to their question.
A step by step for other users who might be interested would be great. [emoji1417]
Also, just out of curiosity, why didn't you answer the 1st question i.e. the main reason for the thread, in doing so, you would have killed 2 birds with one answer, whereas now you have answered nothing!?

Well, you must be "new to huawei" yourself, as you've sarcastically said to the OP.
Apologies, I assumed it was shared knowledge since there's pinned threads on various mate 20 boards here on XDA...
Both Funky Huawei and MinistryOfSolutions, right now, can't offer your existing mate 20 pro boot unlock codes, which you referenced above. FunkyHuawei do, however, sell a range of phones including the L29 international dual sim model Pre rooted. So in that sense it's possible to "get" and what I'm trying to ascertain is if you can still "perform" root yourself once said phone is purchased through the. What interests me is getting the actual UNLOCO CODE from the device purchased on FH. They obviously have it. Are they nice and will they share it for flashing newer patches or EMUI 10 (as re rooting is typically required L again, or was on previous devices) or will they hide it like a bunch of pricks?

The OP gathowoow asked a question:
"Help to root LYA-L09 Huawei mate 20 pro"
Do YOU have an answer to this specific question?
If yes, help them by answering THEM, not me I don't want to root My LYA-L09, the OP does want to root their LYA-L09. [emoji6]
This isn't about me, it's about the OP's question:

They might have had it from day 1 when they got the device and accessed to engineering database before mass lockdown of everything. So its not like they have magic trick, its just they were quick to get it, since all thats needed is IMEI of phone that is written on box of device (you don't need to even open it). Once they get out of those phones, all they will probably sell just "exploit rooted" ones, which have root lasting until next system update.

EMUI 10 doesn't have bootloader unlock command anymore (its been removed basically), so its meaningless there. And firmware upgrade to EMUI 10 automatically locks bootloader back, there's no known way around it (at least currently).
Obviously there's also their exploit for root, but its unknown if its working for EMUI 10, and there's no way they will share the method as its directly impacting their "business". Especially since its "remote desktop" root with prices 190$ each. And its lost every update

Hello,
Any news on this matter ? Can you provide links to existing threads. I just finish reading the comments and no one actually answered the question clearly.
Yes it can be rooted on emui9.1 only.
And it is not possible free.
It involves money

Not at the moment. Devs do not look into it since it is possible to get root via unlocking the BL, which is sad
how about we start a "petition"? Cause by looking at the views of this threat it seems like people ARE interested in a solution but the devs are not looking into it because they think that noone needs it.
Any thoughts about this?

I was just about to post this question. I agree, the sheer number of views reflects the interest in this method.
I disagree that Moto updating would patch putting off devs - in all the years that I've owned Android phones with different manufacturers, that never put off any devs that I spoke with. Many acknowledged that it was getting harder but they never gave up. Then, someone would find a 'one root for all on this firmware for many phones' which completely override the manufacturer's 'patch'.
As for the petition...I have seen contributions to projects work. If it's a matter of pledging small donations I'd be happy to contribute, I have in the past. I'm not totally sure on the rules on this, they have changed I think. Another issue is that I believe it is Dan Rosenberg who is usually successful with Moto devices so he may be the best man for the job.
Even using an unlocked bootloader, finding information and sharing it on RSD Lite is difficult. Try Googling it: I cannot find a good, comprehensive guide that could be offered to newbies. You can find pieces on how to use it and where to find files, that's it. With the only root solution on Jelly Bean being using an unlocked bootloader, this RAZR i section fills with more bricked phones day after day after day...Any simpler root solution would go a long way to avoiding this.

well reading word by word more than one time, knowing what you are doing, straight following the instructions step by step and asking if you are unsure will avoid bricked phones, too.
Most of the bricked phone owners here read the wrong instruction or flashed the wrong files, cause they did not read word by word or did not ask when they were unsure doing the right things.
Just have a look through the threads: they mostly tried to root or flash with ics-files over JB....

I already wrote couple emails to D. Rosenberg and he immediately got back to me but his answer was a no. He is not going to look into getting root without unlocking the BL since there is a "perfectly viable manufacturer-supported unlock mechanism" (BL unlock)
The Reason i've posted yesterday, but no one was listening. He already stated that he won't root an unlockable Device, when there was the discussion about rooting the XT910/XT912 (JB).

I read German poorly now but the first seems to be instructions. I know there are many sets of instructions but I haven't found comprehensive guides that really go through what the software is, what all of it's capabilities are, what should not be done. For example, people keep using RSD Lite on here, downgrading Android version then getting a bricked phone. Why isn't that included in instruction guides? We need to know everything we can and can't do to avoid bricks.
Please, if you are know much about could you write a short guide of what you can do and what not to do?

Ah ha. That is a shame.
Rooting is still safer for the average user I think than unlocking the bootloader.
The problem with using RSD Lite is that it is hard to find a friendly nooby guide for everyone. Everyone says 'use it' then laugh at you when you brick your phone.
Hi guys,
so I read an article this morning that the folks from Lookout rooted the google glass via the exploit discovered by bluebox : Android security bug 8219321
It should be possible to get root on the Razr I with this exploit, does anyone know if someone is working on that?
Still by telling from the view of this threat people are really interested in getting su without unlocking the BL.
Help
hey guys, can i root my razr i if it's on android 4.0.4?
if it is possible, please, can someone upload the needed files for this? cause i didn't find anywhere
thanks everyone

Hi, this threat is about JB, but here you go:
root ICS
I saw in another post that the kernel source got released, Im new to this, I was reading a post about how to create custom roms and all that, and i was wondering , we do need root access to get the system files and all that to begin working on a rom ?
What i wanted to do was basically a full stock lollipop rom, but with the Axon Software ( Camera, Dolby Digital, and a few other things ).
I dont have any background expirience creating roms, but whats leading me to this is , loving the phone but hating the toggles, and a few other software bugs ive encountered.
I have some programming knowledge, and I will make this my little side project if theres any chance for it to be done. If anyone has some background and wanna help/teach me, ill be thankfull.
This is the link I been following.

I have no programming knowledge, but I'll gladly provide moral support and encouragement in this endeavor! A stock lollipop rom with ZTE features would be spectacular.

I know right ? Well, If by any chance it can be done, ill keep trying. I guess first we need root.
I would like to support this and I have some java and c++ programming experience. The only problem is that there hasn't been any word on root methods or bootloader unlock methods. Supposedly ZTE phones come bootloader unlocked already, but I haven't been able to prove this since we can't access the bootloader via fastboot :/ if we can at least get root that would be a good start.
Marshmallow on Axon Elite?
Hi all,
I came across this poat while checking for new ROMS. If this checks out I would happily go for the Elite as the price point and features are value for money. For those of you who do have it can you confirm that this is actually a Marshmallow ROM.

You need to install Google Play Services and Google Services Framework. You will need to sideload these apk's. You will need to Google them.

Marshmallow isn't available for this device yet.
When will a custom ROM appear for the Axon Pro?I hate all these chinese stuff and i would like to have the option to reset the phone and redo all the Gmail account, without the phone asking me for the last gmail account.I bought the phone from a friend and i did a reset later that day and it kept asking me for the old account. It sayd that the phone was reset and needs the old account and i couldn't go forward because it kept connecting to google and asked for the old account.I had to use my friends account again to use the phone.I want a simple rom, without this stupid connection to google and other chinese stuff.Any idea when a rom will be available?
No clue but now that you have your friends Google account you should be able to delete it and add your own.
I'm surprised that there isn't any custom roms for this phone yet,i mean its a phone with 4gb of ram,810 Snapdragon so its pretty powerful.

Hi noob. You must be really nooooob...You need to spend more time reading through the threads relating to you're phone. I'm afraid to say you would find it's no longer possible. :crying:
Unless of course you head over to DC-Unlocker and part with a few coins.
FYI Huawei/Honor no longer provide codes for unlocking the bootloader which is the first requirement for rooting their phones. However even though you can obtain the BL Codes for models prior to July 2018, it's unlikely that DC-Unlocker will be able to provide this service for Huawei/Honor phones from now on. Good luck :fingers-crossed:
I know this is early days given the device is still a couple of days away from being officially released, however so far root is not looking good for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
As we know the complexities of Huawei not releasing bootloader unlock codes has made things difficult, but I'm told by no means impossible. Sites like Funky Huawei claim to be able to provide bootloader unlock codes - but at a cost. We also potentially have the barrier of the OEM unlock option being greyed out which may make us fall at the first hurdle.
Therefore the way I see things we need:
- to be able to select OEM unlocking in the developer options (either after the 26th October we may be able to, or this may require some clever developer to provide a workaround...)
- to be able to unlock our bootloaders
- Potentially for twrp to be made available for our device, which would hopefully open us to the option of custom roms and perhaps flashing firmware updates etc.
- and last but not least, for root with Magisk (ideally this root method due to the great modules that it has!)
It would be AMAZING if we can root and if custom roms started being made for this phone, in time of course, given it has not been fully released yet. But regardless I wished to open this thread and perhaps we could start to pledge money to entice a dev to work on this for us.
I'll kick this off and would pledge £30 for TWRP and Magisk root working on this phone. I'm not sure how this bounty thing normally works and so if forum moderators have anything issues with this just let me know!
If you are serious about a pledge then post here and I'll update this thread.
If you're a dev then let me know how these things work!
Cheers
UPDATE:
Guys, it really isn't looking good. See attached screenshot of response from Huawei regarding the bootloader unlocking and the OEM Unlock option being greyed out in developer settings. As far as I understand it, that option is crucial and seems Huawei won;t even be letting that be an option, let alone provide unlock codes.
I have just had to return my Mate 20 Pro due tue screen uniformity issues and to be honest I won't be getting a replacement (I don't think).
It saddens me, but if anyone wishes to take over this thread/bounty just feel free to copy the pledges posted here and perhaps start a new thread.

That twitter reply from before... damn M20Pro rooted within a day.. Hoping it releases.
From what I can figure out from online research so far:
1. EMUI 10 has removed oem unlock command. I actually emailed them about this and haven't had a reply. It is THEORETICALLY possible to use the flashing command according to fastboot help, but I can't make heads or tails of it.
2. It is THEORETICALLY possible to downgrade to EMUI 9.1 using DLOAD. Look it up. You will lose all data, but you're probably cool with that because you're asking about bootloader unlocks.
3. It is also THEORETICALLY possible to bruteforce the unlock code using a script from SkyEmie on GitHub. Expect it to take multiple days, and to have to install python3.
4. After that, one can find a TWRP build and flash it the old fashioned way. If someone has a TWRP build for LYA-L09 (6 / 128) or can assist me in building one, please @ me, I really want to be able to get LineageOS on here even if I need to self build.
5. Speaking of LAOS... Basic functionality and inscreen fingerprint is probably possible, but biometric face unlock is probably a bit more of a challenge. Graphics drivers for the Mali G76 can likely be borrowed from the Exynos S10, so that's easy enough. Or... Maybe most of this is already done for us with the Android 10 beta build that's probably in an Internet archive somewhere. Are we able to reverse engineer that?
This is all currently theory because the number transfer to my OP8 Pro doesn't complete until tomorrow in my timezone, and I kind of don't want to risk bricking it until then. I am not a developer, however I can give developers here any information they want about the device.
And if the device hasn't been named yet, I vote for rickastley
All great in theory but Option 1 is already no go (unless you can convince Huawei to allow that command in Fastboot)
Option 2 I believe only worked with the beta (or 10.0), once you are on 10.1 there is no way back
And without 1 or 2 there is really no point discussing 3-5.

I actually posted a rant on the Huawei forum. You're right, I got a canned response that they're looking into it, they don't care.
3 is a no go, I don't have 5,000 years. Someone did already make a Kirin ROM (check my other post) back when people did crazy stuff to get unlocks involving money.
The real question is this. Huawei participated in the Android Q beta program with the Mate 20 Pro. That required an unlocked bootloader. How was that done? Did they ask? Was there a workaround? Because the beta program isn't automatic, Huawei had to actually put in active effort for that to happen.

That's new, just using stock HiSuite?

Those who signed up are probably allowed to install a special firmware version with special BL? Not sure who is still on Beta now though

Yes. Latest version. It took two downgrades but it did happen.

Hmm. Interesting. Probably nobody is still on it. We could ask around though. I don't know anyone who participated.
