Hello,
I intentionally bricked my Mi 9 this morning and I only had access to Fastboot mode.
I was able to reinstall an original rom using MiFlash Pro and the tgz file of the rom 11.0.8.
However, my Mi9 was previously on 11.0.5 and I had the unlocked bootloader.
The fact of reinstalling the system made me lose my boootloader and during my unlocking requests via MiUnlock I now get the following message: "Couldn't Unlock, please download the lasted version".
What can I do to downgrade my rom and thus be able to re-unlock my boootloader?
Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for my English I am French
Maybe this is out of place here, but I was wondering, is the mi 9 100% possible to unlock the bootloader? Or is it something you apply for and hope for the best? Also, when they let you unlock the bootloader, is there a lot of custom ROMs out there that can be used as daily drivers?
this is mi flash error, you must download the latest version of mi flash!

What do I have to do to not have brick? log in to mi account on the phone and Install the original china rom in mi flash and tick Clean all "option (not lock). Then wait again for the unlock bootloader?
having a global rom from aliexpress I can flash twrp right away and change rom ? Non Brick?

Basically the trick is to make sure you never accidentally relock the bootloader.
This normally happens if you've stuffed something up and need to flash a fastboot ROM. When this happens ALWAYS remember to change to 'clean All' when flashing with the Mi Flash Tool.
I assume the bootloader is already unlocked. If so, then you're 7 days ahead of the game and can go ahead and install TWRP and any other ROM of your choice. As long as you do everything correctly then you should have no problems.

I have a fake global and unlocked bootloader. So I can easily install twrp and change rom?
The only one I have to remember is that if I wanted to block bootloader again, I have to do it on china rom?

Yes you can install TWRP and change the ROM.
The normal reason to flash a Chinese fastboot ROM is when you have done something wrong and soft bricked the phone. But yes you would also do this if you wanted to lock the bootloader again.

I was in the same boat. Just flashed the official China ROM via mi flash including bootloader relock. After I applied for an unlock the official way, waited a week to unlock the phone again and finally flashed twrp, magisk and mi-globe Rom.

Wait, so you had the 'Global rom' model? Did they leave the phone associated with the Mi account originally? And where did you buy from?
Just curious because my 'Global rom' model K20 Pro arrives tomorrow. Unfortunately ordered the day before all this stuff came out :/
Sorry if this is a bit newby, but I ordered the same (K20 pro) from ali express, there is no way the global rom is official?
If it's not and the bootloader is unlocked, why is this a problem? Because the find my device won't be working? or is the security compromised if it is?
Is the global rom worse than the Chinese? And if the phone isn't disconnected form the Mi account they used to unlock the bootloader with, arn't I screwed?
Sorry for the salvo of questions..

At the moment there is no global version of the phone. So there is no official global ROM. The global ROM versions currently for sale are using a hacked/modified versions of MIUI. These versions are made by people unknown and could possibly contain malware, etc. which could compromise your security. Probably, the ROM will be OK, but you just never know.
Having the bootloader active unlocked isn't a problem normally and gives you the benefit of not having to wait 7 days. You can flash TWRP and install other ROMs with no problem.
But there are a couple of cases on these forums where people have had things go wrong whilst flashing a fastboot ROM using the Mi Flash Tool. They have ended up accidentally relocking the bootloader whilst also corrupting the system partition. Because they haven't unlocked the bootloader themselves originally, they are unable to unlock the phone again and can't install TWRP to install another ROM.
Some people are now choosing to flash an official ROM and relock the bootloader, to allow them to unlock the phone themselves with their own Mi account. So if they end up in the same position as above, they should be able to unlock the bootloader and easily restore the phone.
However some people, when restoring the phone to stock after messing up, have accidentally relocked the phone. When they've tried to go through the unlock process they have found that the phone is still linked to the sellers Mi account and they are unable to link it to their own account and so are unable to unlock it again.
If you never relock the bootloader, either accidentally or deliberately, then you will not have any problems. But if you end up needing to flash a fastboot ROM, then the Mi Flash Tool default option is to flash and relock, so it only takes a brief lapse in concentration to find that you've got a locked bootloader again. If this happens, I would guess that it's far more likely that you won't have any problems and you are able to unlock it again.

Just be aware that this option also comes with risks. Occasionally some people have found that the phone is still linked to the sellers Mi account, they are then unable to ink it to their own account and so cannot unlock the bootloader again.
Hi, guys. Such an unpleasant thing happened to me today. I have received my new xiaomi mi 9... But it has came with unlocked bootloader so i have locked it. And when i locked it then the phone got stuck on the recovery mode saying "this miui version can't be installed on this device" but it already came with this MIUI i did not change nothing i just wanted to lock the bootloader. Thank you very much for help. I have read both but unfortunately i can not UNLOCK my bootloader… when i was trying to unlock the bootloader through MI UNLOCK, it says "Current account is not bound to this device". Otherwise if this was succesful and i could unlock it, then it would be easy i believe.

Since you locked the boot loader, you'd have to flash (with fastboot) using the same flavor of miui which was installed. (example: chinese or eu variation), otherwise you won't be able to boot.

Yes, that i understood… There was EU variation with unlocked bootloader, which i do not know why, but okay…
But now i can not unlock it, it says, when i try to unlock it though fastboot with mi unlock, it says "Current acount is not bound to this device, ADD your acount and device in MIUI"s setting > developer options> mi unlock status.. but obviously i can not do it since i can not turn on my phone, its stuck on recovery mode.

If you know how to sideload the rom then everything is become okay dont worry
After successful debrick you must bound you mi account to your phone and wait for bl unlock then reflash with mi flash tool and global rom
AND DONT LOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER AGAIN
Yes, unfortunately i do not know how to sidload the rom... But when i have Chinese rom downloaded then what do i do with that? I connect the phone through mi assistant and there it can be flashed?
I had the same thing happen. You need to force a firmware flash ?
I had someone on xda recommend an excellent recovery tool.
It's called 'miflashpro'. It can be hard to find the English version. I did eventually but actually unbricked my Mi9 with the Italian version.
99% chance your cell can be fixed this way
bricked too
I'm having the same problem here, after wipe in twrp mode my phone restart and i'm blocked on bootloader screen.

I did the same thing with a Mi CC9 relocked the bootloader by mistake thinking it was like any other android phone. Did you have a Xiaomi account associated with the phone and signed into after enabling oem unlock in developer options.
If tha'ts the case you can use https://en.miui.com/unlock/ tool from where but it checks your phone number to see whether its associated with mi unlock.
Otherwise you will have to use EDL method which involves disassembling back of phone and shorting out two pins to initialize EDL data transfer but you need a EDL associated account this (belief xiaomi has revoked everyone access to these)
Hello all members.I had same problem and I open this phone with suport from youtube .I try clean some connector and worming cpu and motherboard. After change the battery with new. When close the phone they suprised me and working good. After 10 hours again close and bricked. I try sake and again open .So....the real problem its not CPU and motherboard but some connector dont touch good. Sory for my English. I hope some other find which connector have problem in this phone and pm me. Now my MI 9 working good but I keep bickerful ...
Xiaomi tool for flashing your Xiaomi/Redmi phones:
https://miflashpro.com/
It's better than the standard MiFlash. Because you can flash the phone even without unlocked bootloader or if you forgot PIN/fingerprint/pattern in order to reset. Also it can automatically download the firmware for you. However, it does not delete your Mi account data. You need to login with your Mi account in order to use the tool with all options.
In case you experience any problems with latest version under Windows 8 or 8.1, first install MiFlashPro oldest version and then update to new version.

No, it will not unlock your bootloader.
It doesn't recognize my phone redmi 9C
I want to flash it
i bought a mi 9 lite and it came with the russian rom.
I wanted to unlock the bootloader and install the official globlal ROM with mi flash. can i lock the bootloader again with me flash when i install an official global rom?
or
is there a guide to install a global rom without unlocking the bootloader? and without using tools?
You need to first unlock your bootloader in order to fastboot flash the global rom (using MiFlash). After that in the MiFlash tool there is an option to "Flash all and lock" which will lock your bootloader again. Unfortunately there is not a way of doing it to my knowledge without unlocking your bootloader.
Here's the official guide here: https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
Never, ever re-lock your bootloader as this will result in a hard brick that can only be resolved with EDL/authorized account!

Not to my knowledge. I have done it before with my device. Sure if you want to use custom roms/recoveries you will need to unlock your bootloader again which you can do if you are using an authorised account. However, if you are really worried about this happening, you might as well just keep your bootloader unlocked.

Before i could unlock my device, i was able to flash a global rom with a non official tool which name i can't remember.
Global rom was the only one i was able to flash. So yes it's possible.
ok
On which ROM and Device you CAN and CAN'T Lock Bootloader!

Never lock the bootloader when flashing a non original ROM. You may now need to find someone who can perform an edl level flash. Just look at other posts, they do mention who to contact but it will cost a few dollars.

Edl flashing is easy (if we are talking about the same thing), you just need an original rom and the software. But yeah, not sure if that exists for the Ultra out there..
Software is MiFlash or something like that IIRC.
