So I was trying to install dolby audio on my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 using this rom and magisk, and everything was going fine. I am, what i like to call, a privacy enthusiast, I had microg and bunch of open source apps, I love this rom, but the sound when I am listening music with earphones is too strindent, and think the treble was too high, so i decided to install dolby, which i did but didnt work. So I unistalled it in magisk and instead of rebooting to system I went to the 3 dots in the corner and rebooted to recovery (to make a backup of the kernel). Big mistake now my phone is in bootloop always trying to go to recovery (TWRP) but never makes it, I cant go system, I cant even go to eRecovery (Huawei), and I cant make the key combination to boot into fastboot mode. I dont have money right now to buy a new phone, please somebody help me, im desperate and screwed.
I already unplugged the battery, leaved it for an hour, plugged it back in, when I turned it on, same thing (bootloop into recovery), please I need help.

Hello.
I was playing around a bit, and made a bad decision on disabling a sys app, with a root uninstaller app.
Now my phone starts up, but stays on the 'samsung' splash-screen.
My home doesn't seem to get loaded, so its stuck there.
I do, however, get notification sounds from text-messages and push-services.
My phone is rooted, but had no recovery installed, neither did I run busybox.
Not sure wether it runs 4.1.1 or 4.1.2, but I guess 4.1.1 because there's no intern recovery I can activate...
I tried flashing the recovery package with odin, still can't seem to get inside recovery... (Yes I can get into Download Mode)
I tried to reboot into the recovery via adb, but my phone - logically - doesn't respond to those.
Apparently, my USB Debug is not activated also... The phone connects, but I can't even do something with tools like GS3 Mini Toolkit.
Kies doesn't seem to connect either (even when the phone is on)... probably services that don't get started due to a battery saver app...
Long Story Short
Is there a rom & kernel, that can fully wipe my phone, via Odin, cause Download Mode seems to be my only option in recovering my phone.
Or any solutions that you could come up with.. because I already tested so much things,
and it's still stuck on the samsung 'lighting up' logo and a black screen.
The phone is for work & personal use... and I don't have the option to replace it atm.
I really need to get it working again... it was the only smartphone I ever had a decent battery life with (avg. 2.5days)
Thanks in advance!
- Fixed, I got into recovery mode, I forgot to stop pushing the powerbutton... so it rebooted. YAY :highfive:
I have a Moto G XT1072. I had unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted it a while ago. I did not install any custom rom.
I was completely unaware of TWRP's lack of support for OTA upgrades, so when my phone notified me that there was an update available, I was like "oh, cool, okay" and downloaded it.
a) The download finished, the phone rebooted and TWRP recovery popped up.
b)"Mh, I guess I have to find the update file and flash it, probably"
c) Of course I didn't find it, so I googled and found out that if I want to install an OTA update I have to flash back the stock recovery and I might lose root. "Not worth it, thanks, maybe when 6.0 comes out"
d) So I rebooted the phone. Boot screen with motorola logo shows up, phone boots normally, I insert my sim card pin, set the alarm for tomorrow morning (6:00 am, fml) and *poof*, phone shuts down and reboots in TWRP.
e) back to point d.
Recap: I downloaded the update but I didn't install it, phone boots normally (I can even go in settings), but after 30 seconds it shuts down and reboots in TWRP. I do not care about the update, I just hope I can avoid re-rooting or even wiping.
I've got the exact same problem as you. Stupid to not have thought this could've happened with TWRP installed. Additional problem is, I have removed everything ''root-related'' (adb, fastboot), because I thought I wouldn't need it anymore. TWRP is obviously still on my mobile, but that's about it. I have already made a backup in TWRP (don't think it will help, because I'm afraid it will backup as boot trap), but who knows if it may help.
Back to the point, I'm a noob with rooting, I don't even know how I've managed to root it in the first place, but I'm stuck with the same problem as you are but without the required tools (at least, that's what I think)...
UPDATE: So my phone finished the backup, I turned it off to charge my battery, I fired it back up after an hour (normal way, not TWRP way), and it all of the sudden works again. It doesn't boot trap anymore and it seems like I'm able to use every function properly again. After those 30 seconds (where it usually rebooted), I now got the message that the installation had failed and that I should try again later. I don't know if there's any logical explanation for this or if this is pure luck, but I'm glad it's working again! I don't know if this will help for you as well ricvail, but I think it's at least worth a shot!
Sooooooo..... I have a problem. I am using AOSPK, and everything went very well, I was very happy with my new custom ROM. The Equalizer App kept crashing, so I installed Viper4android. That didn't really work, so I tried to fix it by installing APKs, Magisk Modules, which all resulted in the driver not being enabled. But then I stumbled across this thread here on XDA and there was a Module for Magisk I could flash which supposedly fixed the Error, but of course, that didn't work. As usual, I removed it with Magisk and rebooted it.
Now. The thing is, I am pretty much stuck on an endless Bootloop. I already had a Bootloop once, but those always led me back to TWRP. To get out of the AOSPK Kraken loading GIF, I had to let it like that overnight and let it drain its battery. Now, this morning I plugged the Phone in and tried again, but it didn't work. I let the battery drain itself again, but It only took like 10 minutes as it was plugged in for a short time. I only now found out I can press on Power + VolDown to force reboot.
I would REALLY love some help here, how do I get out of this mess? Do I plug into a PC and try to boot to TWRP? What do I do next? Please explain to me step by step, I am really in a sticky situation right now.
UPDATE: I can get into TWRP, not what? I wiped chache and dalvik, did nothing. What now?
Hi. I am also using Kraken rom. Check out this post if you want.

Hi, don't know if it's too late but I did have the same problem before and all I did was boot into TWRP. When you wipe make sure to check everything from Dalvil to Internal Storage and format data as well. Also if you are going to install Magisk try to do it after your phone boot into os otherwise it will stuck in bootloop again. I hope that's can help!
I originally was able to put GrapheneOS using their site's instruction and web based system. I was having lot of issues with it though, like I could not get group texting to work properly then found an app that supports it but I kept receiving old texts that were already sent to me before so kept trying to find a text app that works and was having no luck. Then I went to make a phone call and realized it was not even letting me do a phone call, it would just drop as soon as it tries to dial.
So I gave up with that and tried to load Lineage, following these instructions:
Install LineageOS on bramble | LineageOS Wiki
wiki.lineageos.org
Though maybe one thing I SHOULD have done that I didn't, is I did not bother putting in stock android back on, I just went straight to the steps for Lineage. I unsecured boot loader, enabled USB debug and all that too, then proceeded to load the recovery image. This is where things started to go south. After it was done loading, if I tried to boot into recovery, it did not do it. If I do try to boot into recovery I see the Google logo for a bit then it just goes back to fastboot. I also tried different ways to load it such as --slot all etc.
Now it's just doing the google logo, and then goes to the screen that warns about image being unsecure, then back to google logo and just doing that recursivly. If I try to hold down power button and any volume button (up or down) it will interrupt it and give me option to pause it, but that's it.
I put it in the freezer for now to see if it kills the battery faster as maybe it will stop doing this once the battery dies and it can actually shut down... but I am open to any other options.
Did I brick it? I have a feeling I got myself a $700 paperweight. I presume there must be a way to remove the storage chip and put a new one in or something right? Thanks in advance.
Ended up getting it going, letting it die completely so the loop stops let me get into fastboot mode again. It was quite painstaking but I eventually managed to get CalyxOS on it. I could not get Lineage because the recovery partition step of the install always failed, CalyxOS uses a different way to get the rom on that does not use that step.
Hello there, I installed lineage os before to this phone with open gapps, at first I thought open gapps was well... open to fix that mistake I decided to reinstall lineage without gapps, and well I deleted the existing OS and tried to write the new one. Well, the thing is it took about a second but it TWRP said success. so i restarted. Turns out it failed and now the phone trying to boot into no operating system. I was thinking of throwing this brick under a car but I thought there may be something you guys know about. So is it going to recover or is it going to be under a car?
Ah never mind, I thought recovery mode was volume down + power. It was apparently power up + home + power. Guess the car has to wait for another chance...
