Hi, Can you reupload files?
I think that after the last Huawei P40 software update (received yesterday) this method does not works anymore. I've followed this tutorial (and many others) but at the end I have a pop-up message that say "Access error for [email protected]".
Anyone?

I've followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgndzOCFR_8
It's the same procedure I've found in other thread and videos but for some reason, with this everything works.
The only thing, as said, is the Gmail sync. Someone should develop an app that disable/enable the sync of the account (or simply force it) every X minutes in loop. I've found a very old app that disable/enable the sync with a tap. Better than nothing.
Say "Hi" if you are a developer and want to develop this app.

I have done the Market fix several times already and have fixed most of the missing app problems, except the voice and video plugin for yahoo IM. I always get the "requested item could not be found" message when i try to update the app. I cannot run the IM apk without the plugin. Can someone please send me or upload the 1.4 version? Thanks
Also if you must ask i have used other IM apps that allow you to chat etc but have not found one other than the official app that allows you to do voice and video plus send and receive files. Ps. I also used the search bar with no success.
I am having the same problem. It will be great if someone could post the apk file.
Thanks.
Read this and try it, it might for you also.

Remember to do the regular fix after making the changes.
I tried the steps in the thread you pointed out. But that doesn't fix the problem. I posted a reply in that thread and I will quote it here also

I tried the fix and it didn't work for me. This is what I did
1. Mounted /system are rw
2. Modified the lines ro.build.fingerprint and ro.product.device
3. Remounted /system are ro
4. Started Android Market and browsed around a bit
5. Chose Settings->Applications->Running Services
6. Under the Running tab I can see 'Market' and 'Google Services' but not 'Google Services Framework'. . I can see it under 'All' tab.
7. I followed rest of the steps instructed in the youtube video rcgabriel pointed out in the initial post.
What should I run to see 'Google Services Framework' under the 'Running' tab? Could that be the reason for the fix not working for me?
Thanks.

If you have an android phone download YM with that and then use Bluetooth file transfer also in the market for free on both your gtab and android phone then use that app to send the app from your phone to the gtab..
I would upload the app for you but I don't have my tablet with me to bounce the app from phone to tab to here.
That worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for the suggestion.
I have attached the yahoo_messenger and plugin apk if someone wanted them.
Glad I could help!

will the posted apk's work on the stock rom? I have version 1.3.2 (both the ym and the video plugin), but the video icon shows up disabled. Is this a newer version? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I have successfully got assistant from google to work on the P8 Lite.
Here is a quick tutorial on how to get it on your device.
Requirements:
* Rooted MM 6.0
* Custom Recovery like TWRP
* Google App Beta ( https://goo.gl/SsMHkA ) use Google App provided from link, newer versions seems to break Assistant
* Xposed framework ( https://goo.gl/TYZ22v )
* N-ify Xposed Module ( https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/ )
1. Get Xposed installed on your device by following instructions in the link provided
2. Download and install N-ify Xposed Module
3. Reboot device
4. Install Google app beta
5. Go to apps in settings and clear data from installed google app
6. Long press home key and google assistant should open
7. When first running assistant select do it later for voice setup as this will crash the assistant.
None of this work is my own and so I take no responsibility if you damage your device and won't be answering questions either.
I have followed this procedure on my own P8 Lite with Sokkoban's B574 rooted and deodexed ROM installed and it's working fine for me.

Also I am unable to change settings of Google assistance. Whenever I ask about weather it gives temperature in Fahrenheit(I use Celsius) which is a bit annoying.
Quick update
I updated the Google App to the latest BETA from apkmirror which seemed to break Assistant, I am going to reinstall the Google App from the link provided in first post to see if it will fix this problem. Will post result.
Update 2:
I uninstalled updates for Google App and also deactivated N-ify and uninstalled it, then just followed the steps in first post and Assistant is working again.

Someone in another topic has suggested this:
- uninstall Facebook and Messenger app
- download (from Apkmirror) latest Facebook and Messenger beta apk and install it
- from Play Store, disable auto update for this two apps
I've same issues and I risolved with this tips
It happens couple of times after fresh install but when it successfully downloads what it needs it disappear.
I had the same problem with facebook , but it stoped by himself
I had this too with some google apps after MIUI11 update. After two days or so it stopped, and I heard that this was a Google Play Store server related problem.

Thank you ! Another question, I want to transfer my WhatsApp chats over from my Asus rog Phone 3 to the mate 40 pro, how can I do this seeing as I don't have google drive backup on the mate 40 pro? Normally I back up to goggle drive and download the WhatsApp chats from google drive , but the mate 40 doesn't have google.. so how can I download or move my WhatsApp chats backup over to the Huawei so I don't lose all my chats ?
Hi, just make a backup on the old device, on the new Huawei copy the entire WhatsApp directory to the internal memory. Install WhatsApp in Huawei, enter the number, dta restore that backup and you're done.

I'm pretty sure if you search on YouTube there are a few options already? Some seem a bit drastic like downgrading the software, but I think you can then update, and one was like an emulator type solution, but I'm sure they're out there now.
We currently have no viable options for installing Google services on this phone.
With VMOS some applications are installed, but it is not a real option to use; banking applications don't even work with VMOS ...
Apologies if this has been answered already - I've searched and not found an answer.
I've just received my China version; having installed Google Play, is there any way to force a restore of a Google backup of my previous phone - it would be so much easier if it could (re)install my apps and settings in one go. I can't seem to find a way to do it.
Thanks
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think restoring from Google backups is only possible during the initial configuration. And China ROM doesn't have Google Play 'out of the box', it needs to be installed by the user. So I'm afraid it's not possible. But again, I could be wrong.
I would recommend unlocking the bootloader and flashing either the Global ROM or Xiaomi.EU. Preferably Xiaomi.EU because Global ROM is significantly behind with updates.
I couldn't test it but if you have installed google playstore and the google app basic android should be available. Then you can "restart" the inital setup via adb command:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardActivity
That should run the google setupwizard. I can't try it as I have already .eu rom on my phone installed and there it is available from scratch.

Ah - this is what I was afraid off. With installing google playstore the google setup is still missing. You could try the Android Setup Wizard from Google from APK mirror. This should install the missing files. But I really can't confirm that this will work. In worst case you need to do a factory reset. Or you just install the .eu rom and all problems gone .

use Xiaomi's mi mover app on the play store and you install it on both the previous phone and the new one, it will move everything over for you. I have been using the built-in migration app for all my phones, and they work just as well as google backup

Thanks very much - that is the solution. I had tried to use Mi Mover before using Google backup/restore but it kept failing.
The trick was – as you say – to install a fresh version from the Google play store and not to use the version which was already installed on the phone from the xiaomi App Store.
Once I did that, it worked a treat!!
