Long story short, I hard-bricked this thing to Hell. I'm in Download mode and have QFIL but I don't have a saved fstab so I can't flash the rom properly.
Someone wanna kindly post one, please??
Much obliged.

Heh. So, after a long day i neglected to plug my phone in to charge before the battery totally died and now it's stuck in a bootloop. This seems to be a somewhat common issue with this phone when it's been modded. Understandable but managable quirk. Usually I can just fastboot flash boot and it seems to resolve the problem, then I reboot-bootloader (after a successful boot) and re-flash my magisk_patched boot. For some reason, my stock boot image trick didn't work so I tried again, specifying boot_a and boot_b, just to make sure i hit the right slot. Still no luck. So I pulled out the heavy guns and ran flashall.bat (edited to NOT delete userdata). Being tired, annoyed, frustrated, in a hurry at 1:30AM, and tired of re-flashing this damn thing, I realized as it rebooted to a BLACK DEATH SCREEN that I really fu***d up and flashed MATA Q.032 update!
So currently it's boned.
But it automatially seems to be dropping itself into DOWNLOAD mode so I believe that means I should be able to use QFIL to restore partitions and upload at least enough partitions to get into a fastboot-able state and then run the correct flashall of the latest AURA CHERYL2.

This struck a chord with me as I'm currently suffering from the same bootloop problem and I'm using the same fix kind of, except when it happens I use "fastboot restart recovery" from the bootloader and then flash a boot.img backup I have on my SD. My last phone was a MATA and I still have the images in my SDK directory, definetly going to clean it up now

So I started having trouble after flashing a rom. The old infinite htc boot logo. The troubling part was when I tried to reboot to recovery and TWRP blackscreened and device turned off.
I tried re-flashing recovery.img with identical results.
Now my phone locked while attempting a fastboot flash boot.img with a known working boot.img just in case the rom I flashed had a corrupt boot image.
I left the cmd window open and its been "sending boot.img" for about forty-five minutes now. I am terrified to ctrl+c the command or restart my device.
So boned or no boned?
On a scale of one to boned how boned where do I fall on the bonage spectrum?
Any ideas on what to do next, or if rebooting to fastboot is safe?
You have to wait the final of the sending.
Probably your USB cable is *****d up, and i'm advising you because i had the same issue.
A flash of a boot.img was of 15 mins.
Tried fastboot erase cache to get back into twrp?

Sent from an HTC One with using xda app:
TrickDroid ROM 9.1.0
Bulletproof 4.3
Afraid to stop the current fastboot operation to try to clear cache. Tried running from another window and it just sits there, cursor blinking, like its waiting for the other operation to complete.
Waiting for it to complete seems fruitless as its been almost two hours now for a 5836kb flash.
-update-
Okay so I took a couple valium and quickly switched out the usb cable. The cmd window running the flash operation crashed, but fastboot on the device became responsive again. I feel like this is a fact that might be useful to others in the future.
Fastboot stalls out--don't panic, just disconnect the usb cable...
I'm still scared to reboot it, even to reboot to fastboot. Is fastboot part of boot.img? If this botched op boned up my boot.img is it possible that fastboot might not work after a reset?
Gonna give cache erase a shot and report results.
Cache erase worked fine.
Is there anything else I can do to minimize risk before rebooting to recovery? Anything important that -needs- to be done?

So, reflash the latest TWRP (2.0.6.1), do an erase cache and retry.
Yeah, I tried that before posting but for sake of thoroughness I did it again.
erased cache
reflashed m7 twrp
erased cache
Going to try CWM now.
Really appreciate the guidance and support in a problem you have no personal stake in. Being on the receiving end of the goodwill of strangers makes me all warm and tingly.
Also switched USB cables and did a fastboot reboot to make sure commands were being passed on... nothing wrong on that front.

Aaaand CWM worked for whatever reason.
Odd, since I've never had a problem with TWRP before but plenty with CWM... Every duck has its day I guess.
---
Well... CWM loads properly but executing any command that touches phone data causes a reboot.
Factory reset -> reboot
Install zip from sdcard -> reboot
Trying sideload next... it goes into sideload mode fine. I'm guessing that as soon as it tries to write something it will reboot, but I'll have to wait till I've re-downloaded and double checked md5s like a paranoid bastard first.
adb sideload ohdeargod.zip
---
Hmm, wiping cache partition alone works.
--
Noticed that on booting into CWM it displays the message:
Warning: No file contexts.
--
formating /system alone works
formatting dalvik causes reboot
formatting data causes reboot
--
sideload seems to have worked although its taking a long time to boot. I'll give it another 15 minutes.

Okay so I have a brand new HTC TMO One I got last week and its waterlogged. I drilled a hole in the back of the case to drain it and then left it on the radiator to make sure all that moisture is gone. I can't get it to post to TWRP.
Please help.
Deciding after recent events that XDA can be a dangerous place for sarcasm. So--thanks all, problem solved, no, no phone was damaged during the making of this thread. It was just my business partner, Lloyd, who fell in and became waterlogged. No amount of drilling or radiator baking could revive him.
Please help.
My motorola Nexus 6 won't turn on, when I try to power it on, it shows the Google sign then shuts off immediately. When I plug in the charger from a complete power off, the white battery sign keeps flashing, it shows for 1 second then shuts off then repeats the cycle of showing the battery sign then shutting off. It boots into bootloader/fastboot mode fine, and I have tried flashing the factory image, it flashes fine but it still shuts off immediately while showing the google sign. It won't even boot into recovery after the flash, it just shuts off after the google sign. This isn't my first nexus, in know that flashing factory image should fix 99% of issues. Please help.
P.S I didn't purchase officially from google or Motorola, bought it from a guy who claimed he bricked it trying to install a font pack so I figured let me buy it and restore factory image. Didn't work. I tried flashing manually, the process went fine, but it it still turns off at google splash image. I tried Wugfresh toolkit also to no avail. He said he rooted it, installed custom recovery and euphoria os rom. Then he installed the fontpack, it told him to reboot to apply changes, and it wouldn't boot past google screen after that. It doesnt even get to the boot animation. It just shuts off. When its off and u plug in the charger it does the same thing, you just keep seeing the charging symbol over and over because its constantly rebooting. Its a T-Mobile Nexus 6 BTW, model number XT1103. I spoke to my friend who has a local repair shop and he says there is nothing out for his z3x or his other boxes for the nexus 6 because it is such a new and rare device. His theory is that the partition tables have been corrupted somehow and need to be rewritten manually. Please any help would be appreciated. I can promise a hefty $$ reward for any individual that helps me recover it to a working state.

Yes I tried pushing the stock recovery individually and it succeeded in the command prompt, but won't enter recovery, just shows google and shuts off. I tried pushing twrp too but same outcome. Yes I had flashed the stock image manually, everything flashed well from what the command promt said, but when it should reboot to recovery after flash to wipe, just shuts off.

Please! Anyone!
by manually do you mean flashing all the separate parts of the stock image separately, system, boot, recovery, cache and so on..........
I don't know what else to do after going through with that process.....
Make sure you have the latest fastboot by updating SDK Manager. Then reflash bootloader then reboot back to bootloader to reset. Then proceed to flash each partition again. Directions below.
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img <-- rename bootloader to this to make it easier
fastboot flash radio radio.img <--- again rename to make easier
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fasyboot flash system system.img
Hope this helps.
I'm a total newb here so take what I tell you with a grain of salt. I had your exact same problem on my Nexus 5. Every single thing you just described is what happened to my N5. And just like your N6...I was able to boot up into recovery (stock and TWRP), I was able to flash all the things manually and even used Wug's NRT. But then whenever I tried to actually boot up the device it could never pass the Google logo....basically EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU.
What I did to fix everything? Changed my battery. Sounds stupid and totally irrelevant but that did the trick. When I opened up my phone I noticed my battery had a nasty bulge and realized it was defective. Bought a new one for $25 and have never had any issues ever since. I suggest you look at your battery and see if that is the root of your problem. I have heard of the N6 having some batteries expanding and causing the back covers to pop off...this could be related to your problem.
Like I said I am a newb and thought I'd share my experience in the hopes it solves your problem.
Good luck buddy! :good:
my N6 is actually away getting repaired for the exact issue you described, expanding battery [assumed], and cover coming away from the bezel.....
I believe though that if you keep the device plugged into the wall when trying to boot up with this battery defect it will get through the boot, at least in the beginning anyway....
I believe also that if it was a battery issue the device would power off first, as opposed to just sticking on the Google logo.........

I know, it's been a long time, but coud you tell me what happened to the phone?
Hi everyone, I'm having a lot of problems with my phone: last night, after it dropped to 0% battery life, it wouldn't charge. So i waited a while and ifinally managed to turn it on, but It wouldn't go past the Cyanogenmod logo. So i tried few things, first wiping cache, then factory reset from TWRP and I even tried the "Factory" option in the fastboot screen. Nothing worked, and it even got worse I think, TWRP says it's unable to mount /data partition and /storage partition. I don't know what caused it, and i don't remember the precise moment it became "unmountable" for the first time (since I've been trying to fix this thing for like 24 hours now).
Since i couldn't fix it via recovery, I tried looking for people who had the same problem on the internet, and I tried everything i could find. (like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683787).
I then tried to go back to stock rom via adb and fastboot, but without success.
The main problem with fastboot is the fact that it doesn't change anything in my phone, it gives no errors when i try to flash the stock rom, but when i reboot my phone, nothing changes, or at least this is my opinion, since I still get the cyanogenmod logo, and TWRP doesn't get replaced (while it should go away, since when in the whole process of flashing the rom, i also flash recovery.img, which shouldn't be TWRP).
I tried a whole lot of other commands too, like "fastboot erase recovery", but TWRP is still there, and so is the cyanogenmod logo.
This is why i think fastboot is unable to write in my phone, but if that's the case, it should at least give errors.
So, wrapping up, my data partition seems to be corrupted, and flashing the stock rom still gets my into a bootloop (with the logo from the previous rom and TWRP still there).
Do you have any advice?
P.S: my phone is a xt1068
Are you able to pull logcat?
Logcat command works, i don't get errors in the terminal, but in the text file there's only this line : "/sbin/sh: exec: line 1: logcat: not found"
Dmesg works though, I don't know if it's helpful

I have same phone, you mentioned you also tried to flash stock rom without success, did you flash the partition file aswell before flashing system and the rest of files ? Check the flashfile.xml file into the stock firmware folder to make sure you not missing anything.
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
Good luck.
i'm on the same boat. It seems it's a NAND issue, but how come it happens randomly?
It seems to happen (its a bit rare, so don't get worried) when you let your battery drop to 0% and the phone suddently turn off, like what happened to the OP.

If it's a bit rare, how come there are a rather interesting quantity of posts regarding that matter? I'd like to know WHY I can't write even with fastboot. There should be a way of unlocking the NAND / partitions. Even if I try to hard brick it, it's impossible.
PS: can we someone a look at this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56608822&postcount=2
Possibly if we can force the way to QHSUSB mode, phone can be saved.

Unfortunately I didn't quite understand what that is about, if you happen to try it out let us know.
Anyway, if we don't manage to fix it, I guess I'm going to try and take it back to the store, since it is a common problem. Only problem is I'm on a custom rom and I can't even go back to stock and relock the bootloader, so I don't think they are going to replace it, but it's worth a try.
You can try by helping me to look for a circuit PDF from the board or trying it yourself.
I could try and disassemble it, but you're gonna have to wait a few days, I'm not at home and I'm gonna be back on the weekend.
As for the circuit pdf, I was only able to find videos and guides on how to disassemble it, unfortunately
Dude, no worries. Ive took the back out with all the screws, but I have nothng to make shorts with.... I'll come up with something. Take your time and keep me posted.
any news concerning this problem? i have tried searching for a manual but I did not succeed.
Anyways after finding the manual, we can short circuit the 2 capacitors there and the phone will be in qhsusb mode.
And after that ?

After that.... well.... after some research, we'll be needing singleimage.bin to use the blankflash utility for lollipop phones (mbm-ci 5.0 lollipop) so somebody can generate the singleimage.bin for us.
Once we have that, we can try to flash the phone at lowlevel to see what happens.
I will search the internets in hoping to find the schematics of this phone.
Keep me informed if you find it faster .
Cheers mate
we can connect through hangouts / etc.

Hello my lovely Nexus family,
I need your help! I've searched all over the web and these forums, and have yet to find a single thing that would help me.
After making a stupid mistake from tinkering, my phone was stuck on the "Google" screen. Not a big deal, just a simple wipe and fresh flash (and yeah, that's what I wanted anyways), right? So I went straight to Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit to full wipe. It did the whole process of flashing MRA58R to the phone until I got to "sending sparse 'system'" on the terminal window. "Fastboot.exe has stopped working. Windows is finding a solution....." suddenly appeared while the terminal was processing everything. When the phone decided to reboot after thinking it had finished, it came back with the "Phone Corrupt" message.
I don't know what to do, as this is the 9,999th time I've flashed a phone, and I've never seen this before (obviously) so I'm not really sure what to do.
If I'm missing any details, which I feel I am, do not hesitate to ask.
May be obvious no... But you didn't actually say...
Will phone boot into fastboot if you have it powered off, the first pressing and holding volume down, then pressing and holding power until the phone boots?

Yes, I'm able to boot into fastboot with the phone powered off using the physical buttons. I'm also able to get working commands from the terminal.
Then what is the issue? Flash The image manually, re-install fastboot if needed... Or better yet download the image from google manually, check MD5, extract the main zip, as well as the update zip inside... using the fastboot that comes with it to flash all partitions?
One flash went wrong... So ok try again. And don't use the toolkit so you can actually follow whats going on (and because the only posts with troubles seem to be from people using toolkits)

I've done more than one flash today. My next will make 20 in the same hour with failed results. I'll try flashing the bits of the file manually and see how that works.
It could even be the computer I'm using. I'll report back soon.
Are you using the same fastboot.exe every time and getting the same error? Did you verify MD5
So, I got home, hopped on my laptop and got to work as usual. I used the factory provided cable and the problem was solved. I believe it has something to do with either the cord I was using to transfer the data, or the computer I was using.
Other than that - PROBLEM. SOLVED.
If the fastboot exe was fail ("stopped working") the cable was less likely the issue, most likely just the binary on that computer.
Perfect example of why not to use a tool kit until "after" you know how to do it manually.
Hey all,
I'm having some issues with TWRP.
I've flashed it across through fastboot, but whenever I boot into recovery via the phone, all I get is a black screen and the notification light in the top left of the phone constantly on in the colour white.
It never changes from that and is rather frustrating, as the only way I can get into TWRP is via my PC and fastboot from the bootloader. I have to run the "fastboot boot twrp.img" command in CMD to get it to actually boot into TWRP.
I've tried every TWRP version out there for my device, and some boot me into the black screen, and others simply boot it back into the bootloader. I cannot get my phone to boot into TWRP itself, without needing to be plugged into my pc and manually started via the fastboot command.
Do you guys have any idea what my issue is? I'm starting to give up hope lol.
Thank you for your time,
all the best.
If i am not wrong, you came here after using the unbrick tool. To resolve this issue, boot into twrp by the fastboot command, wipe system+data+cache, transfer the oos 3.5.4 stock zip to the phone, install it, and the issue should be fixed when you boot into recovery next. From here on you can install the rom of your choice.
Oh my god..
I can't believe it. It worked.
This has been grinding at me for at least 2 months now and I basically gave up all hope, thinking my device was borked.
You have no idea how grateful I am for your help. If I could gift you everlasting life I most certainly would.
An infinite number of thank you's, you are now considered god status in my eyes.
