Hello guys, I would like to have information about this device if it has the Google L1 Widevine certificate in the Netflix app, which allows HD playback, if it is possible for someone to provide me with screenshots about it, thank you who can tell me this information.
I am based in the UK and officially own the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. I will say now it's a ridiculously good phone. I cannot fault it at all. Ask me anything you like in regards to it (design, Usage, etc) ... Happy to answer all questions

How u transfer full Whatsapp and how is realistic experience without Google (automatic photo upload, contact sync, G drive, Google duo etc)

Right, to transfer full WhatsApp you'll need to copy & paste your WhatsApp folder into the Huawei (internal storage) specifically you'll need the "Databases" folder but I would copy the whole WhatsApp folder over so you have your photos, voice notes, videos etc. It's a tiny bit annoying, however, it's the only way to successfully restore your whole WhatsApp history onto the Huawei ?
The experience without google, for me, is really good. Yeah I won't lie, it would be nice to have google services on the mate 40 pro but it's a compromise I'm willing to live in, just need to put in some work to have the dbejxe to my liking. Photo/video/music uploads you can use the MEGA app, simply download it using huaweis Petal search. Contact sync I simply sent all my contacts by bluetooth from my old device to the new hauwei. Or you can back them up on your p30 pro to your Huawei account and download them to your new Huawei. G drive isn't working at all because it's needs gms. I needed g drive for my WhatsApp backup but I had to use the above method I've mentioned google Duo just won't work for now but I use WhatsApp video calls as the best alternative. Gmail doesn't work. But instead of gmail I use Outlook which is a very good email platform. Youtube doesn't work but youtube vanced is the much better alternative (no adverts and had background play)

I am extremely inclinded to this device but the region where I live (Middle East) the whatsapp calls are blocked and we have to rely on Google Duo (personal) & MS Teams for official calls (MS Teams not yet available on App Gallery).
How about launchers (I use Nova launcher)
Honestly speaking, i dont see any other phone which can challenge Mate40 Pro (nor Note 20, niether iPhone 12)
simillar to other apps , several local apps are also not available (Yes we can install via petal search or even other stores but i am not sure they might be dependednt on Google Services)

Why had the middle east blocked WhatsApp calls ? ? There are many alternatives, Skype, Viber, etc
Haven't tried nova launcher but will definitely get back to you on that

Chrome works flawless, PowerAmp also but the rest will probably don't work because it needs GMS. Games are a thing for itself some work without GMS and some don't
What bank apps not working? And what will i miss if i join huawei from iPhone?
You can record screen at 90fps ?
Can I check with you that the Silky water mode can be used with all 3 rear camera lenses with the Mate 40 Pro? Thanks

I have guidance in Maps, only on 10.49.3 version (of the latest versions).
Glad you have got 1! I'm deciding on whether too but no GMS is a pain, looking to get the deal from the Huawei Store but i few questions,
As your in the UK do you have any banking apps working?
If you use Spotify and YouTube Vanced can you cast to devices?
What keyboard do you use? I've been a long time gboard user but obviously this will be an issue.

AN00 is the Mainland China version
I am using NOH-NX9 as well for singapore
to TS, do you find some games are able to use the GPU but some games just fall back to base resolution like 640x480?

Hi, I updated my mate 40 pro to emu 11 and now magazine unlock is not working anymore. Do you have the same problem?
Mate40 pro comes with EMUI 11 ... what update did you make ??
Does the new EMUI always on display show notification icons for third party apps e.g. Outlook, WhatsApp? Does the MicroG method for getting some third party apps notifications

I recently flashed the mi.eu rom 12.5.10 from their site and Amazon Prime Video does not play content in HD anymore.
I cannot find the widevine cerrtificate under fingerprint payment option (only FIDO and IFAA),
However, the DRM app and netflix both register L1.
Is there any solution for this?

I was on stock 12.5.2 stable from xiaomi, had everything working. Hated the google dialer.
Switched to the .eu 12.5.10 rom after bootloader unlock etc. and L1 widevine is certified on any DRM check app on Play store and even netflix. Only Prime Video has this issue for some reason that I cannot understand. Assumed that if I check for cert, it will work. That is when I saw that it does not show up under the fingerprint payment part where it usually is.

I also use a Xiaomi eu rom (weekly) and the L1 appears.
If the test indicates L1, it is probably a problem with Amazon.
Wait, I'm testing with Prime.
In the app settings I set optimal, but how do I know if in HD?
The quality looks good despite the lack of brightness

Hey Shash,
I too faced issues with my redmi k20 pro with widevine certificate. It got disappeared once I open any app such as prime or Netflix. But after a reboot I can able to see widevine L1 in drm app and also in setting-lockscreen-fingerprint-finger print payment- widevine option.
Fix: Seems like issue is with video tool box.
I disabled it in setting- special features - video tool box
Rebooted the phone and verified with drm app
Cleared the data for prime and netflix
Voila!
you can also try dirty flashing the latest rom.zip file via twrp recovery and follow above steps

Amazon Prime HD streaming issue on multiple Xiaomi devices even with Widevine L1 enabled is a known bug, fix expected in future.
Solution: Just Go to the Google Play Store and search for the Prime Video app, below there is an option to JOIN BETA.
Just Join the BETA and Update the App.
You will see the Problem is solved.

I suggest the following to be done if you can't get L1 status which directly links to you not able to watch Full HD videos
Go to Settings-> Password and Security -> Fingerprint -> Widevine L1 -> Click on Get Certificate
You will get your HDR thing (Widevine L1) back and you will be able to watch Full HD videos from there on.

Yeah, That's a Wonderful solution but Actually, Some Users still facing using the method you suggested. So I suggested the Join Beta Tester Method.
Does our phone really not support DRM protection?? I can't watch videos in any of the online streaming services available to me!

I haven't had that problem tho. Yes netflix doesn't seem to work for some users but if u have Google installed, that problem shouldn't exist
