Hello fellas,
I got a huge problem here, I flashed official global ROM on my mi8 and f*cked up something, after reboot I have no wifi (can't activate the wifi module) and my simcard is not detected anymore, I just have blutooth working. And the problem is that in the latest version of miflash, there is no box to uncheck where it says that it will perform a flash & lock the bootloader...
So now i have to unlock the bootloader but is says that I need to link my mi.com account and insert a simcard to do so.
I think something went wrong with network modules
So my question is how can I unlock the bootloader without using a simcard ?
Thanks a lot for your responses :fingers-crossed:

You will need to use an older version of miFlash, and make sure that you use USB2 ports, or a USB hub.
Scroll to the bottom of this page and you will see many versions of miFlash : I use Mi-FlashTool_20181115.zip
When you flashed Global were you using a recovery based rom or a fastboot Rom? My guess is recovery based rom because usually you have to seek out the fastboot roms.
It is very likely that you have some corruption is your persist partition. This can be resolved by flashing a fastboot based stock rom.
Unfortunately I can't find it on the official site at the moment, but I found this : https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=230361
When you boot up dont worry about the sim card if it is not connecting right away, just stay focused on connecting via WIFI and then sign into your MiCloud account using your WIFI. After you have completed that step continue with setup and you sim card should start working, if you get a message that it can't sync with the server just disregard it, but verify that you are getting a signal, then check and make sure that you are using the correct APN. Manually enter your carriers APN info if needed.

Persist can be fixed by flashing fastboot rom through miflash? Or "flash_all.bat" method?
Thanks

Yeah usually, as long as it's a recent stable fastboot rom. Beta usually works but not always. I made several versions a persist fix file. The version based on stable worked for a couple of people.
I would rather that people use the fastboot rom. but worst case scenario I can share the flashable test file if needed. Even though it worked for a couple of people, whoever flashes it must accept all risk.
Thank you for your reply, I will try this tonight
Humm with locked bootloader, miflash prompts an error "Erase is not allowed in Lock State", what seems logic after all. But to unlock i need a sim, which is not detected

So you accidentally re-locked your bootloader?
You have the phone in fastboot mode while attempting to flash? If phone is bound to you, you can also try using EDL mode.
If both both fail try uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
It should not matter as long as the phone is registered to you and its linked to your personal miCloud account. When you boot the phone sign into WIFI, and you can bypass temporarily bypass the sim card request.
Usually a popup will appear asking you to sign into your MiCloud account...use the same desktop that you used to initially unlock the bootloader. Be sure to use a USB2 port, if it still fails try using a usb hub.
As mentioned in an earlier post you must use a fastboot rom, and you do not need to use MiFlash, you can instead use the flashall.bat method.

Hi there,
unfortunately I bricked my Mi8 during a ROM Flash. I could not see the options as they were "hidden" because of the resolution of my screen. And unfortunately the standard option seems to be "lock", so it did and now I cannot flash any ROM anymore.
Is the method with opening the phone and get in touch with a doggy service to unlock it still up date?
Is there anything I could do? Will Xiaomi help me if I write them an email?
Help would be much appreciated.
Well, not knowing what you flashed and how you did it, it's hard to give an advice.
Can you boot to recovery, fastboot?
If you want some "output" you have to give more "input".
Is you phone recognized if you connect it to the pc? Perhaps you can revive it with mi flash and a complete rom (tgz). Be aware of the danger of relock!
I know I did a mistake as i flashed it wrong as I did not choose the correct setting (just clean instead of clean and lock). I did not see the options when I did the flash as they were "hidden". The Bootloader is locked and therefore I cannot flash another ROM.
I can get into fastboot, no problem. But I cannot load a ROM (Bootloaderbis locked).
I do wonder if there is any way instead of opening the phone and get in touch with a commercial unlocker service.

Wipe data and try again. What's the issue with "resolution of screen"?
Why would the wipe help? I guess all data is errased anyway because iIflashed a fastbootrom via mi flasher. The problem was that a portion of the program (mi flasher) was hidden, the part on the bottom where you choose which flashmethod. Therefore standard is lock device and that happened...

Just try to unlock bootloader again. If it is not possible, you have to contact with someone who has Xiaomi account authorization.
Yeah, like the s unlock service. I think their my last chance after reading through the internet. Not looking forward to open my phone. pfffff...

Is your device a Global or Chinese device and how long ago did you buy it and where from? If the bootloader was unlocked when you attempted to flash whatever you flashed then it was unlocked by someones account. Are you saying that you did not unlock it?
If you did unlock it yourself, then you can unbrick it. If someone else unlock the bootloader you should try contacting that person to get their id and password to unlock the device again, and then you can remove their account from the device and replace it with yours.

Since you have fastboot
You need to download the fastboot rom for whichever device you own. Also, your phone must be clean, you will lose all data.
Mi8 Global Rom: https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?device=1700346
Chinese Mi 8 Rom : http://www.miui.com/download-345.html
Unpack the Rom, on your desktop and then place your phone into EDL Mode or fastboot. - The fastboot Rom comes with the Fastboot flashall script, it will fully restore your phone to the a Stable Rom and Overwrite every partition..
If you unpack the rom and it unzips into a larger version of the rom, unpack the new unpacked larger version, it will unpack into a folder, inside the folder local the flashall.bat file and with the phone connected double click it and wait 5 to 10 minutes until it reboots by itself, you will see the screen to connect to wifi, and then to add you account credentials, enter credentials, enjoy your restored phone.

You don't, ( well not anymore) you only pay someone to unlock if you do not have your account bound to the device. The person that you would pay has a vendors master unlocking account, these are very limited and these people are mostly located in Russia and Vietnam.

Hi there,
that brings some light into the darkness, although I am did not completely understood all you wrote.
1. I bought the device used in Germany and it is the German version. It was unlocked and I installed Havoc OS which worked fine. Then I thought I should update Havoc OS and that'S what I did. This ended in a Bootloop. I went into the Recovery and it was kinda weird as it asked me in chinese to enter my pattern. I did and after that the touchscreen stopped working. Still could get into recovery and also install a new one via fastboot. But same problem. Then I googled and as I understood the solution to other people was an earlier MIUI ROM which I installed via the Mi Flash tool and here I am chosing the wrong selection for the flash and ending up in a brick.
2. I don't have the device connected to my MI account. So I guess I need someone with a vendor account? S Unlock also offers a software (one has still to pay) which works without the help of someone logging into and using e.g. Teamviewer. (at least that is their claim)
3. I cannot connect the device with MI flash and therefore no flash of a ROM is possible which brings me to
4. In any case, I for sure have to ****ing open the phone and play with the EDL Touchpoints? Right?
If one has any further ideas let me know, I am really fed up with this ****.

Okay that better explains your real issue
You had an issue with the lockscreen, which could had been resolved by removing encryption ( formatting user data ) by using ADB or using the Tool All in One. ) Unfortunately, you misunderstood what the issue was and flashed a rom without unchecking unlock bootloader.
Since the bootloader has been relocked, you may need the original account info that unlocked the bootloader. ( If it's still bound to the device) If possible contact the person that you bought the phone from and get their account, then you can use the steps that I listed above by placing the phone into EDL.
If you are asked for a Mi account password, after restoration, then the phone is absolutely still bound to the previous owners account.
You do not necessarily need to open the phone :
You can probably use ADB to place the phone into EDL mode : adb reboot edl
You can use an EDL cable Such as this one
On some phones it is possible to enter EDL by pressing and holding the power button and the volume up and down simultaneously, you can very that the phone is in EDL by connecting it to your PC then go to Control Panel/System/ports <<<< Here you will see port 9008, that means you are in EDL mode.
After installing fastboot rom via flash all.bat method
After connecting to WIFI, you may be asked for the Mi Cloud account (if linked) If so contact the previous owner for that account info, then once the phone has gone through setup, remove the account from the phone in settings/Backup ( It is also possible that the phone is not bound to a account) If no account is linked then you will be able to link a new account and then wait 72 to 360 hours to be able to re-unlock the bootloader.
If the phone is bound to a previous user,
The only option is to use a reputable service company who has a master unlock account. if this is indeed the case, you should try contact Xiaomi and see if they can recommend someplace close to where you live.
@berndbrecht
I just found out via the Mi-Globe website that a XDA member has an official Xiaomi Unlock account and the price is extremely fair: I would suggest contacting @NikSalsa

Hi everyone, some weeks ago I converted my A2 in 6X because I wanted to test MIUI. Yesterday, dealing with an update my phone get into a bootloop. Well, I used MiFlash to fix it but I selected "flash and lock" (yes, I know, I'm stupid).
The main thing is that I'm in a Chinese ROM with lock bootloader and when I try to unlock it I get error 86023.
I dont know what to do. I've thought about test point to flash Xiaomi.eu but I'm not sure bcause the bootloader is locked.
Someone with a posibble solution? Thanks

Same thing happened to me.
You can now choose between China Developer or Stable.
I tried many progs and tutorials to unlock the bootloader but no way.

It didn't happened to me for myself, but I just asked this question to get better knowledge about bootloader stuffs:
As I understood the current problem is this:
You need to unlock your bootloader again, there is just (as much as I know) 2 ways to approach, which both of them will not help you:
1. Unlocking as a A2 : but your device is not a A2 anymore, so the device will not be unlocked by this method.
2. Unlocking as a 6x : but this one won't be successful either since the dedicated unlocking program asks for a real 6X device with a registered IMEI number by factory, which in your case is NOT.
So, you will be left just with the options that need no Unlocked Bootloader, as mentioned above, like Chinese Stable versions. ( That in my opinion it does NOT sound awful. )
(BTW, every day comes with new procedures, maybe you can find a new method to unlocked the bootloader again, there was times that many expertise told, after stucking in ARB4 trap, you just need to find a suitable Trash for your device!, but now we all know that there is plenty new ways to deal with it).

It is very possible that they can restore your phone (and as well your bootloader) as what it was in factory.

Yes, exactly.
Hello my friends, i managed to unlock the bootloader of my converted A2/6X.
I tried several times to switch from stable china to developer china but from 9.8.15 to 9.9.3 no one worked.
After installing one of the developer roms, the phone only shows the boot screen for 2 seconds and turns off, with charger it boots endlessly or shows the green battery symbol after some minutes.
One thing that works, is using a rubber band to fix "Vol+" and connect phone via usb or charger, mostly after 5-10 minutes it will enter the "Miui-Recovery", then you can start "Mi-Assistent" in the "Miui-Recovery" and flash back the stable china, so luckily no need of EDL.
After flashing the last 9.9.3 rom and the phone was all screwed up, again. I tried the original "miflash_unlock-en-2.2.624.14" and it worked.
I have done this "thousand" times before with all available unlock tools I found but never succeeded before.
Download: miflash_unlock-en-2.2.624.14
https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-mi-unlock-2-2-624-14-windows/
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195916630
Now I tried to boot into recovery “fastboot boot twrp_wayne.img” but it didn't work, because the phone reboots or turns off after 2 seconds.
So I flashed the china stable via fastboot (worked), let it boot up, no setup, reboot to enter fastboot and flashed successful the orangefox-twrp.
Hope somebody can also unlock his bootloader or maybe it was just luck.

Did you try to flash custom rom using miflash?
Hi! I have the same issue on my Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (It was Chinese) but it came unlocked with xiaomi.eu rom.
After i installed a global rom, and google wallet nfc pay did not work, so i thought okay i will lock it then so maybe wallet would accept it, (with the eu rom it worked before) so i put the device in fastboot and used fastboot oem lock on cmd...
And from then it stucks on miui recovery 5.0 screen, and says, this miui version can't be installed on this device...
I might not enabled oem unlocking before i shut if off, but i added it to my mi account so i dont know if after a week i can maybe unlock it. But i think the other possible solution would be to sideload the original chinese stock rom, which is for M2102K1AC, Mi 11 pro, codename mars, but i couldn't find it anywhere... If someone can upload a link to it, that would be a huge help! Or any idea! thx!
geraldmany said:
HI! i got a mi 11 pro 1 year ago, and it was offically chinese, but it came unlocked with Xiaomi.eu firmware, but i could't update it via the updater app, so i searched and found the global star version and just flashed it, everything worked, only now google pay nfc didnt work, it said that its probably because of the unlocked bootloader, so i got to fastboot and in cmd i sent fastboot oem lock, and since then my phone is stuck in miui recovery 5.0 screen and says that i cannot run this firmware on the device, i tried to unlock it but failed, maybe after a week, but i think that i didnt turn on oem unlocking on the phone itself before this... So im just hoping that after a week unlocking could be done... Or my other idea is, that i could install the original chinese rom with sideload, because i managed to install another global version on it since, but the result is still the same, the only problem is that i cannot find literally anywhere a mars codenamed firmware...

Anyone who might have the same situation, i found a simple, but effective solution, not sure if it works on every xiaomi device, but i will write down the steps here:
You need to use XiaomiADB, here is the download link and the description for how to use it -> https://xiaomiui.net/how-to-use-xiaomiadb-8044/ (if the page is not available, then feel free to msg me!)
For xiaomi adb, you need to go to 3rd option on the miui recovery screen, NOT THE FASTBOOT
So basically i went through the steps to “xiaomiadb sideload_miui <filename>”
And I tried to install a rom, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT!
The message was:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> Can't install unofficial rom
after trying 4 times all the same and: Installation of this rom via stock recovery is not allowed by Xiaomi
Says Installation failed, and then i just decided to download another rom so i PLUGGED OUT THE PHONE right after this, and went to another room to connect to wired network, to download and try a different rom... when i came back, to all my surprise, the phone was turned on, so i went to the setting dev ops and enabled bootloader unlocking, linked it to my account enabled adb and everything that is needed to flash another rom later, so then i rebooted and again, miui recovery 5.0 screen, but now i enabled unlocking, so i put the phone in fastboot, and tried MI UNLOCKER TOOL again, now it says: Please unlock 168 hours later. And do not add your account in MIUI again, otherwise you will wait from scratch.
So that means, after 7 days i wll be able to unlock it, until then, i can turn it on with the above method, in short try to sideload (copy and install) a rom to it, and then after it failed, plug it out and just wait like 10-20 maybe 30 seconds and bam your device is normally booted... I hope it helps to some of you, (i have been searching for the solution for almost a week, my other option was to pay someone who can MAYBE do it or send the phone back to china and pay the repairs, so im really happy with this method! If it helps to you, please reply so i and the others will know that it worked! Have a nice day!
Hello everyone, first of all thanks for your advice,
I have a Global RM3S, I updated to the Chinese version with android 11 with the debugging options activated and of course the active oem unlocking,
but I had errors in some applications for changing from global to Chinese so I did a factory reset and it worked excellent,
but for my work I needed a special application and with the Chinese version it didn't work, so I had to go back to the global version,
but when doing it from the recovery it gave me the error "DEVICE CORRUPT "I read in another thread that I had to unlock the OEM
before loading the rom in order to unlock the bootloader and thus repair my computer, I don't have much experience in this matter so I don't understand what to do, can you help me?
T_T my phone has been like this for two weeks and the local technicians say they can't repair it, I wanted to buy another logic card but I can't find anything,
I urgently need to repair my phone because I don't have another, and I need it to dial from my entry, sales, exits, etc. , from my work, greetings to all.
I tell you, I have the drivers well installed on my pc, fastboot detects my device without problem, also when trying the steps to copy the files from the Chinese or global rom, it does not give any error but it always returns to "DEVICE CORRUPT"
if I try to unlock via FASTBOOT with
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX629J
no problem but with
fastboot flashing unlock
tell me error

Can you provide screenshot from drivers?
is it detected by adb driver or not?
sometimes what i am doin on windows is reinstalling adb driver (uninstall and reinstall)
if you cannot do anything, do fastboot and try brick tools that provide in forum to restore anything to global rom, and reflash again on CN ROM
أنا Unlock bootloader but my devices is corrput
Long story short, my gf Redmi Note 10 Pro somehow got to MIUI Recovery menu and 3rd party service managed to erase recovery and everything from the phone and gave back the fresh looking brick stuck on Fastboot!!!
I have successfully flashed EEU Sweet ROM (Europe (EEA) latest Fastboot ROM MIUI V12.5.6.0.RKFEUXM) on the Global version though and after that it comes to recovery menu but it shows in red "NV data is corrupted" now I am clueless what to do next. Desperate me tried to flash Global latest Fastboot ROM MIUI V12.5.9.0.RKFMIXM but it gives Anti Rollback error so based on info here https://www.xda-developers.com/xiao...78.2028059671.1642858063-854958160.1642858063 I have checked the Anti_version.txt of the current ROM and the one I try to install and both is on 3 so based on the info I should be able to flash to the same number but it wasn't successful so I tried to edit Flash_all.Bat file and remove the ARB check commands but even after that I still get the ABR error. What should I do? Am I taking a wrong path in solving the issue? Would flashing it again solve the "NV data is corrupted" issue?
I dunno if this helps, but I was stuck in Fastboot as well at some time. Nothing helped, not even flashing through fastboot. The only tool that helped me was the Xiaomi Tool V2 https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ here. No ad or something but this really helped alot without problems.
Other possible problem by another user: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/redmi-note-10-pro-sweet-nv-is-corrupted-fixed.4345659/
Maybe you installed the wrong rom?

Thanks, DLin the tool you mentioned atm but yes I did dl a EU version on global which I read it is no issue as long as it is not on Chinese version. It all started suddenly, out of nowhere the phone rebooted on Fastboot so it was taken to a 3rd party service and their they tried to fix it by wiping the phone to an unrecoverable state and said this is a new model so the files are not yet published you better take it to an authorized service!!!Oh I am mad! I'll report after trying the tool. Btw the other solution you mentioned was the 1st thing I tried but the file in 1st step is removed from the hosting server and someone asked the thread creator to reupload but no reply yet :/

Ok so now I tried with the tool and interestingly I had to make choices which were not easy and obvious anyhow, it didn't work
It gives the below error and seems to be called "sideload" status issue. But the phone now still reboots on Main Menu with the same old "NV data is corrupted"
