Any charging gives wear to the battery. The higher the rate that you charge the more wear there will be.

As the title states, the charger kicks out 1.2A which is quite cool. Wonder if it would accept 1.5A from the Sony EP850 charger?

But is the device taking the full 2A charge or is it being limited to 1.2A?

Usually whats written on the power supply/charger is just what it is capable of outputting. The device will only take what it needs.
I need to buy one, think that the stock charger is 1.2A. Is thatt correct?
Can you recommend one? Thx.

I have the smallest I found
Yes, the stock charger is 1.2A but you don't need exactly to have a 1.2A charger, can be lower.
Better above 0.7A (included), otherwise you'll have the phone in "low charge".
I use the one that came with my Defy

Hello, I have Xperia Z C6603 and I have charger EP800 5v 850mA (original one EP880 is broken).
My question is, is it harmful for battery in the phone to charge it with 850mA instead 1500mA which is in EP880 (the original one).
thanks
You should be fine. It will just take longer to charge.
Our device can be charged by connecting it to a USB port on a computer and they only supply 500mA (USB 2.0) or 900mA (USB 3.0) and that doesn't harm the battery.

I have noticed that when i add only the charge to DeX (the one from Note8 box) and the original cable, it does not say "Fast Charging".
Is it yours the same?
Dex does not support fast charging which is a shame
It can't because of how Quick charge works. Passing data through the data cables because you can't push data and power through the same lines. That's why PD is a better option(See Nexus 5X-Newer and Pixel). Of course marketing will always win.

So will the phone die if you're using Dex all day or does it give you enough of a charge to keep it topped up?

I think it should at least give 1.5A charging like most standard chargers do. Don't quote me though best to ask Samsung. I just know the way QC works it uses data lines for charging to get faster charging so it can't do both.

The phone uses QC. By that alone Android O isn't going to do a thing. One of the requirements for PD is no modifications to the VBUS which Quick Charge needs in order to work.

Note 8 not support USB PD, QC2.0 and Samsung AFC were supported.
