Installing TWRP and flashing a official (EU) rom - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hi, so my friend bought K20 from aliexpress, he locked the bootloader, it was bricked that's now resolved, he has the bootloader now officially unlocked and he is in the process of installing TWRP and flashing the EU rom. I sent him a link to this post but that didn't work, he booted to fastboot and ran "flash_twrp.bat" from "TWRP auto install" provided in the post. Now, everything looked fine but TWRP did not install, it booted to the normal recorvery. And that's where we are stuck, the creator of the guide mentions that updating the system solved it for him but my friend has the latest update already (MIUI 11.0.8).

You have to flash magisk to keep the TWRP otherwise the phone will restore stock recovery on reboot.

That's somewhat weird but okay, is there any guide?

Guides are plenty in here but it's not weird, At least K20 Pro does this and the 2 ways lf stopping it is flashing magisk which means Rooting or flashing dm_verity but this one I'm not sure

Assuming your bootloader is unlocked you have to flash the fastboot ROM with Miflash too and UNCHECK CLEAN ALL AND LOCK. You won't keep the root or twrp

I'm not sure but maybe you can flash a Xiaomi.eu recovery ROM in TWRP but I'm really not sure

I am worry about the rollback . If really hard brick, Miflash can solve this problem?

Rather than doing this, you might want to flash the stable miui eu rom instead. 9.10.17 is an old build.
Download 'xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20ProMI9TPro_V11.0.2.0.QFKCNXM_v11-10.zip' from:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=300229
thanks,try it later.
But for your information. Use miflash and find a fastboor android 9 rom here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-firmware-10-3-8-0-9-6-13-t3939647/amp/
You'll have to install twrp through adb again and so on. It's a bit of a time sink.

A little help in locking the bootloader again !

I'm currently on latest stock MIUI Global 12.0.2.0 (Indian variant) with orange fox recovery installed and using few magisk mods. Now I want to claim my warranty due to some speaker issue, so have to relock the bootloader before that.
Can someone let me know the correct way to relock it and install the same stock 12.0.2.0 (Indian variant) without bricking it. Coz well i'm not sure if just directly flashing the firmware through MIUI flash tool using 'Clean all and lock' will do it or brick it as there are some forums on xda stating that can brick the device.

If you have an Indian K20 Pro, then you can safely flash the Indian MIUI fastboot ROM, using 'clean all and lock' with the Mi Flash Tool. You only brick the phone when cross flashing regions, it's OK when flashing the correct region.

Question Help a newbie

Hello, how do I root my new phone, Xiaomi Redmi 9T? I'm a beginner, please give thorough instructions on how to install TWRP and install EU rom. I know that I can search but I want to be sure. Everyone in this device forum seems to be rooted which confuses me. Is there a universal way to root all xiaomi phones? And give Gcam too, thank you for anyone who helps!
i think everyone using same method here,
[Guide] [Stable] xiaomi.eu Ad free Builds installation
As Redmi as usual messes up naming convention, we ended up having three names for same device - Redmi Note 9 4G (CN), Redmi 9T (EU) and Redmi 9 Power (IN) I had spent a day on best way to remove ads in our device and ended up reinstalling ROM...

The best root method I have used is Magisk, if you are using the stock ROM, you can install it by patching boot.img, you need to unlock bootloader first.
You can extract the original boot.img from the fastboot ROM tgz package.
If you are using a custom ROM and TWRP, you can flash the zip package in TWRP.

With Magisk installed, I think you can't update the system directly, I think you have to unroot first.
You can read the information about it here.

Question [Question] Is Realme 8 Pro rootable?

I've been waiting since its release to be able to root it, there are some tutorials online but they look sketchy and I dont trust them.
The only one I would trust is made by the magisk team but it has a link that says "cooming soon" when you try to download the Realme 8 Pro stock rom, which is also not present on the official realme website.
This is what made me skeptic: how can the youtube indian guy have the stock rom meanwhile neither the official website and magisk have it? is it worth to give it a try or if I mess up I wont be able to restore my phone? has anyone tried to do so? which tutorial should i use?
At this time there is no solution to root realme 8 pro, in-depth test app is not working with this device so far, firmware is not avaleble to download (from a credible source). We just have to wait, i don't know for how long, i just hope devs will find a solution in a shot time.
Is fileload.coloros.com trusted??
First the bootloader "can" be unlocked and this is the primarly thing to do.
Secondary rom images allready exists.
https://oppostockrom.com/oppo-realme-8-pro-rmx3081
http://www.frpbdteam.online/
Zip and opf's can be extracted .... So boot (kernel and ramdisk) can be modified to work with modified Magisk and all other needed things (Bootloader unlock, FRP, vbMETA, Verity ...) to gain root.
Regarding recovery and flash via current recovery the things are not known yet, also custom recovery options.
Update: Will be very hard to participate for this device ...
Yeah

Stock ROM is here
There are available stock roms, update OTA's but to be able to flash, root ... first the unlock bootloader should be available. Since the HAL is missing from the fastboot and the bootloader is still locked the only thing is to flash is original stock ROM.
Secondary AVB check, meta, recovery, boot, FRP and other things should be done also.
Currently the MSM flash is only available for signed and official files, also MD5 checked flash files.
There is no working piece of tutorial to obtain any of it. Some partially and also magisk patched boot allready done by me, but cannot flash it to test and prepare other needed steps.
Recovery is original, there is no log or cache log currently available to check.
Yes, But You have to root realme 8 pro rmx 3081 stock rom as there is no custom rom available i have sucessfully rooted realme 8 pro
EXPORT and GDPR Roms are different.
Guess you have EXPORT and not the GDPR (EU).
No custum roms available just because the bootloader lock and/or EDL verification and/or ABV and/or parted excrypted userspaced super.

Remove all magisk modules
If you edited some system files undo changes
In magisk press uninstall => complete
After reboot:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing lock
Anyway there is a risk for bootloop
I recommend you to leave it unlock

Sorry I should have been a little more specific. I know about the removing the magisk modules and also uninstalling magisk and even the locking bootloader back up, but if I recall since I am using a magisk boot image. Shouldn't though after uninstalling the magisk you need to flash a clean version of rom to get rid of that magisk boot image? That's the part I'm confused about because with my 6t I flashed it with twrp. I know it's fastboot to do so but unsure of the fastboot steps. I appreciate the help though. I just wanna start fresh with a clean rom.

Is this a pc software to rollback to previous versions for this phone? Sorry just wanna know what exactly it is and the steps before I run it that's all. Also I am on .16 and this looks like .11..that won't cause any issues? I am just assuming the na means north American version.

Hi! Sorry to revive an old thread here, but I was willing to use this method in order to unroot and relock my BL. Coming from an OP10Pro Eu myself and being on NE2213_11_C.22 atm. So I just wanted to know at what point were you able to go to recovery and wipe data, did the rollback package process itself ended on recovery where you were able to click format or did you have to force boot to recovery at some point before an automatic relaunch?... If you remember of course! Thanks a lot in advance!
