yes

Have you tried to flash the fastboot firmware via Mi Flash? We are talking about the Mi 9 Lite/CC 9 right?

yes. But not working without auth. Account

Maybe try minimal adb fastboot instead? Worked for me (although never needed an authorised account in Miflash)

Just create your own MI account an request for unlock permissions.
Should work without much problems.
You can't, since every mi Phone bind it's imei to previous account on that device.

Then you would never be able to sell the phone to another person, since you had to give your own mi account to that buyer.
Sorry but i can't believe that.
If it is, it is stupid and should be changed.
Try signing out from the previous account
I was able to change from one MiUi account to another by first signing out from one MiUi account. I think on the device it says "un-register device on account" or similar. So you could try installing the previous de-bloated rom and try to unregister the device while booted into the rom, and then install new Rom.

just sign out mi account binded to that phone and sell it, i answered he can't because he bought mi 5 in china so how he found previous owner ?. there is only 2 solutions : 1. use any rom except miui 2. using dongle box to remove mi account that binded to that phone..
I have same problem, what I have to do? how to remove binding?
you can bypass activation state with any xiaomi account bypass support box or dongle.
I recommended MRT Dongle or BST Dongle.
if your device is bootloader unlocked , try flash custom recovery and remove /system/app/finddevice/FindDevice.apk via recovery
-1 . /system/app/finddevice.apk
-2./system/app/Cloud.apk

MI 8 SE HARD BRICKED help!!!

before it happened my phone could only go to twrp recovery and bootloader mode because it had no oc the i installed a firmware named (fw__miui_HM3Global_V9.5.3.0.LAIMIFA_7ee05887b5_5.1.zip) using the twrp after tapping reboot my phone never rebooted its hard bricked because the screen is always black no matter what button combination i hold nothing happens the xiaomiflashtool reads it as COM10 and pc reads it as (Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM10)) i wanna know if i have any hope of getting my device back or am i screwed because cant afford an other one.
EDIT:i used the miflash tool on a different computer it reads the phone as COM4 now and when i try to flash the ROM i get an error with this texte "cannot receive hello packet"
i found online that the only fix for that is if i get an authorized miflash account
is that right? and if so how is it possible to get one? this is a problem that most people who brick there phones get . it would help alot if we solve the problem in this thread . thank u for your time.
Hi
I have same problem on my mi 8 se locked bootloader with system has been destroyed
Did you find any real solution please?
I have a phone which wont recognized via fastboot. Do you think EDL could help in this case?
Try some original CN Firmwares. This works for my brick.
What is this authorized account thingy? I got my account's permission to unlock bootloader since 2016 and I used a method (googled "miui how to know if your account is authorized" and the first link) (cus i am new i cant post links) to check if the account is authorized and it is apparently. Didn't you unlock your device's bootloader with your own account because it should be authorized or I dont know...?

Search for "XIAOMI Anti-Rollback Protection"
This is different than unlock permission. This thing is such a nightmare. I hardbricked my phone because of this, only after I paid 20$ for authorised account access, my phone got back to life.

My account is apparently authorized. I will ask some more in other places. I have been reading a lot and I think that it is authorized but not 100% sure if I will be able to unbrick devices.

No this is not what i meant. My mi account also show this to me.
Only authorized sellers have authorized accounts like Xiaomi india, xiaomi taiwan repair service etc. Users can not have it.
When you try to flash your phone via EDL it stops and ask you authorized account. But if you don't hardbrick your phone, you can flash with your account :good:

Xiaomi Mi 8 lock state

Hi,
So I got just the Xiaomi Mi 8. The seller said they installed global rom thereselves and therefore I wanted to install the global rom from Xiaomi so I know I got a fresh rom with nothing added in the background.
So I used the Xiaomi Flash program and flashed it with Xiaomi Mi 8 Latest Global Stable Version Fastboot File.
Now it boots in recovery mode and says "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device".
I tried to reflash it with Xiaomi flash and it gives me an error " Erase is not allowed in Lock State".
So I tried to unlock via the Mi unlock account which tells me it can't because my account isn't signed in with the phone. Go into settings and sign in which I can't.
So I am a bit stuck here.
I read only people with special EDL accounts or Xiaomi service centers can fix this issue. Is that correct?
I live in Australia so there is no Xiaomi service center near me. I don't know anyone with a special EDL account.
What do I do from here now?
Thanks,

I am very sure you did "Flash and lock" because it is default option in Xiaomi Flash tool. Your only option is to send it to the seller for him to unlock it. Or maybe if you can boot to fastboot then you can get token from getvar command but I don't know what to do with it so you have to figure it out.
Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Yeah I did. How was I supposed to know though. The Xiaomi app tells you nothing of it. That's what I have usually selected in the past.
Seriously if this is the only way the fix it then Xiaomi just lost a long term customer. They need to warn their customers if they want to allow stores to have access to mess with the phones but no access to customers to repair that.
Unfortunately 2018 Miflash versions have default option set to flash and lock, not flash_all like before - so its easy to miss it and lock bl during flash.
You have bought chinese variant with unlocked bootloader by xiaomi dev account. Your only hope now is to... open the device, do a testpoint flash with chinese rom with Mi Account authorization and then unlock bootloader by your own Xiaomi account. Getting Mi account authorization is the hardest point here.
Due to such accidents, NEVER use any tool for this action. There are a bat file for Windows and sh file for Linux OS's included in the compressed file you've downloaded, you just need to run the desired one. It's completely closed to any accidents and you can delete those two files that will end you up with locked bootloader for further attempts.
Any idea where I can request mi account authorisation?

That's the wrong place to ask for questions. It's for devs only. Request a mod to move it to the appropriate forum.
Do you mean here or on the miui Forum site?

I got access to unlock Xiaomi phones as I had to unlock my Redmi phone some years back. Is that the same as mi authorised account? Maybe I am already authorised?

Did you bring your phone to the seller?
No. The seller is in Hong Kong. I'm in Melbourne Australia.
How can I actually check if I got an authorised account? I found a account auth in the Mi flash program and tried it and it just says my account is bind to this computer now. How useless is that? Isn't it meant to tell me if I got authorised status or not ??

actually Xiaomi is not in the fault here, as you purchase phone which intended for China, whereas you should buy the global version.
Xiaomi did due to lot of people buy chinese version and use global rom and sell it again as global version.
you supposed to search and know all risk before purchase phone which not sold officially in your country

I would say Xiaomi is at full fault. They know people flash Chinese phones to get away from all the spyware and crap that sellers put on to the phones.
People talking about bricked phones somewhere on the internet/forums does nothing to warn people. If Xiaomi knew they would brick people's phones this way then they should warn you in their MI flash program. It is just low and very disappointing as I really do like Xiaomi products but if they are just not going to support their customers or warn them basically not at all then like I said they basically lost a customer who won't be buying any of their products any more.
And what a bout all those people who bricked their phones as soon as the Xiaomi Mi 5 or which ever it was came out and there was no warning on the forums at all. Was it their fault as well?

So search the forums for people with Mi Authorised account or do you mean go to Indonesia...?
And how do I find out if my account is authorised? I think I might of authorised it some years ago but I don't know how to check.
When I tried the account_auth.exe and put my log in details in, it said verifying and then gave me this message:
" This Computer Is Bound To Your Account"
What does that mean?

like I said, why you buy chinese version in the first place? you can buy global version from country which Xiaomi sell Mi 8 officially (like India, Singapore or Malaysia). if you buy global version, you will have global rom out of the box and won't brick your phone in the first place.
if Chinese people want to flash global rom, they need to request unlock to Xiaomi which Xiaomi will explain what can bricked their phone.
actually Xiaomi never recommended their phone to be unlocked. you know when you want to modify any system which not officially supported by the manufacturer, all risk is on you right?
and Xiaomi is more friendly to enthusiast community compared to other OEM. only OnePlus and Google itself who I know is more friendly than Xiaomi.
but enough who is fault, as this already happen and you need to solve your bricked phone right?

what I mean is that you try to find people in that forum who have Mi Authorized Account and contact them. they can do two things, one is they lend their ID (but I think it's nearly impossible) and second is you send your phone to them and they will unlock it.
other than that you won't have others way and your phone will remain bricked
Fair enough.
Though I am sure my account is already authorised because I requested it on the Mi website maybe 2 years ago and the Mi flash app says I am "This Computer Is Bound To Your Account" which according to what I read online means my account is authorised.
If that is right, can I open the phone myself, unplug the battery, plug the USB in, connect the two test points and flash with Mi flash?
Thanks for your help.

You always can give it a shot, but if there are any Xiaomi shops in your country, the official thread says that you can hit them up for a help. Give it a try and see if you can get your phone rescued. I guess the only way to learn if your account is authorized is just trying.

from what I read, the binding to your computer doesn't mean your account is Authorized.
and what do you mean by request via Mi website? you mean you request to unlock your bootloader? if yes it's different, as I have account that can unlock bootloader but not Authorized Account.
Mi Authorized Account can flash rom without bootloader unlocked, whereas the one you request I think is permission to unlock bootloader, not bypass bootloader.
from MIUI forum, you need to check first. did you receive pass from sms or email? as stated below
It will ask for your authorization pass if your Mi Account is the authorized one. You might have received the pass via email or SMS on your registered mobile number. Otherwise, it will recall that your Mi Account is not authorized to flash the phone.

I am not sure. I did that about 2 years ago. I am sure it was on a website but I could be wrong as well.
I just followed this guide:
http://en.miui.com/thread-2820162-1-1.html
And i get the exact same as that last photo - My computer is now bound to this account, you can start.
I suppose if my account isn't authorised I will just have to pay one of those online websites to teamview my computer and use their account...
But I can send the phone back to the seller. They will charge me about $30 USD(could be more after they actually get it) and they told me they will send it to a Xiaomi Centre in China. What I want to know is will Xiaomi just do the same? Open it up, test point and flash it? If so I rather do it myself than wait months for it to return.
Thanks,
I'm going to give this a shot tomorrow. Does it matter what rom I use???
Is there a guide on how to do it properly for my practicular phone?

Try an old version of Mi Unlock to unlock the bootloader. If that doesn’t work, wait for 5 days and try again and it should allow you to unlock.

It is worth a try. Yes the unlock is linked to the account but i have seen people also unlocking it without binding the account. EDL flashing isn’t that easy because it needs an Authorized EDL Account to be able to flash the firmware. You can’t just put the device in EDL and carry on with the flash. So its worth a try rather than just sitting helpless.
Make a new MI account if you don’t have it till now. Hook your device and put it in fastboot mode and try the unlock with the tool. You might get an unlock instantaneously or for worst it might ask you to wait for 168hrs before you can unlock.

You will probably need too open the back panel to enter EDL mode, then you'll need someone with an authorised account to flash for you. A little bit of digging on these forums and you'll see many others have done this. There's a Russian guy with an authorised account, you'll find his contact details easily in the posts about this.
You'll need to pay him about $20 and you'll need to give him remote control access to your PC in order to flash an official ROM for you.

Do you have access to a hairdryer? That seems to be a common tool people have used. You might need to risk something sharp to get the first opening, but then something like a credit card could be used to pry it open more. There are a couple of posts on how others have done this without proper phone repair tools.

do one thing, login to mi account, then backup to MI CLOUD.. after a while MI servers will detect your MI ACCOUNT, then try logging out of MI ACCOUNT, then ADD MI ACCOUNT, check if sync is ON, and check BACKUP in MI CLOUD.
then try..

Tried, still the same.
I guess there's some issue with MiUI 11... The count down was running when I was in MiUI 10, but when I checked the countdown yesterday (after updating to MiUI 11), I'm facing the same issue..

I am facing the same error. After adding the account in MI Unlock Status in the Developer options, enabling OEM Unlock, waiting for 7 days, I am getting an error in the mi unlock tool, "Couldn't unlock. Please add your account in MIUI's Settings>Developer options>Mi Unlock Status.".
I have even formatted the phone using the official recovery, but to no help.
Would really appreciate if someone could shine some light on this issue.
Thanks
Mehtab
Yes, I have the same issue.
Seems the problem is from Xiaomi's end or the problem is MIUI
I was on MIUI 11 when requested for unlocking, it said 168 hours and now this problem. "Couldn't unlock. Please add your account in MIUI's Settings>Developer options>Mi Unlock Status.".
Will downgrading to MIUI 10 solves this problem?

I'm thinking of downgrading once I found the fastboot rom.
Same thing happened to me
I bricked my k20 so I flashed a fastboot ROM, but selected the flash and lock option by mistake. The fastboot ROM was 10.3.3 and the unlock didn't work. I got the same error you did. I even updated to 10.3.5 and still the same error. So there is no point in downgrading. As multiple people have the same from past few days it must be Xiaomi's fault. We just have to Hope they fix the issue soon.
Did you try from a different laptop? Perhaps it's a USB driver problem?
I had exactly the same issue and it was solved by signing in again on my Mi account in my phone.
Is USB debugging activated in developper options? What is your OS?

Same here.tried two days but no change
Just one small question; will unlocking the BL
erase all (user)data on the phone? Mi unlock
tool gives a warning that all will be erased.

I am too facing same issue. No luck so far. Waiting for unlock since week. Tried everything still getting same error.
Same issue here - Tried unlocking with multiple accounts and with multiple version of the unlock tool.
Seems the issue is either with MIUI 11 or with Xiaomi Servers which are unable to identify the bound account to the device.
I suspect it is more to do with backend services because when I initially tried to unlock on MIUI 11, the unlock tool gave me a wait time of 168 hours and now this error.
