Hallow friends ... to flash lg v40 thinq all models without error..... there is a very good tool... a patched version of LGUP ....it can be used to flash Europen or caneda or austrellia... or any other version or other region firmware on your lg V40 thinq..... without bricking the mobile you can back to oreo from pie version..... And for Indians... after patching Europen version on your mobile to activate VOLTE function you should use service code *#546368#*405#.... here 405 is your model number. then on the menu select field test and on field test the last option Universal Enabler...... give tik to all and restart mobile...( Do this after inserting the Jio Sim)
I have checked and flashed successfully European, Australian, Indian and even Verizon firmware on my LG V405Ebw dual sim model. i have a google drive link for this patched LGUP and this web page is not allowing to post external link here. So if you need simply post your email id or whatsap number..... or message me on my whatsapp number +917012462735

I bought a new Lg g4 model h81520g as shown in setting>about phone>software info. I wanted to check for update but there's no software update option, only apps update is available. so what I decided to do is to reflash the stock software to enable update option. I downloaded the kdz file "H81520g" but when I connected it to computer and ran the LGUP it shows another variant which is LS991zv6. I tried to flash the downloaded file, but it gives an error "invalid kdz. My Lg g4 comes with marshmallow on board. the stock recovery works fine, and also the download mode is fine.
my question is: should I download and flash LS991zv6? by the way, I checked my imei in imei info .com and it shows the model as LS991 sprint

Zv6 is lolipop no mm. U need to check the motherboard. Must disasmble the device and see what it says. Bit if the device is working i would leave it be. Its almost more hassle than its worth

Thats what im telling u zv6 is a lolipop firmware for sure no debate there..
Thats why i say leave it be. This is one of those if u mess up u can hard brick it. Theres not a diffrence between mm and lolipop motherboards but zv6 is a lolipop firmware. Not mm.

Hi
I've bought an international and unlocked V40 (LMV409N) which was delivered with branded firmware from "Telekom Korea" (V409N10y_00_KT_KR_OP_0109.kdz). Expect of the problem that my download and upload bandwith stucks @ 3MB/s the phone works well in Switzerland. Now i did some research and saw that my provider often uses LTE Band 7 (2,6 GHz) wich not seems supported by Telekom Korea.
Another provider in Korea SK Telecom supports that band and i found it's firmware (V409N10y_00_SKT_KR_OP_0109.kdz) on lg-firmwares.com.
Is there any way to flash this firmware on my V40?
I've tried with LGUP, but i miss the LGUP_common.dll for the V40. I've also extracted the driver out of the kdz firmware file, but the software does not accept that driver.
I've tried with the LG Flash tool 2014 and 2016, but there is also a driver needed. The 2016 flashtool shows error " (s) failed to load", com port is changed to port41....
Thanks in advance
Hi-Fish

I'm interested in crossflashing LG V40. I did that on LG V30+ twice. Here is the XDA topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/using-lgup-crossflashing-t3780969
My YouTube Tutorial:
I had LG V30+ (us998) on Sprint and all the bloatwares. I used patched LGUP & DLL file and flash ls998 witch is unlocked V30 kdz. Ot worked prefect. Then i tried to flash some another kdz file, didn't succeed, brick the phone. But then i use CHIP erase and tried to flash ls998 (unlocked) on it. And it worked but that delete serial number and other details. Bc i did chip erase. But phone worked fine at the end?
Heloo

hello thank for answer , can you give me tutorial to do cross flashing?
ok first download and instal LGUP_Dev_Frame_Ver_1_15_0_6, after instal usb driver LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0
in disc C\program filles find lg electronics\LGUP\model here make a new folder with the name (common) and in this folder common copy dll file- https://www.mylgphones.com/lgup-dll-for-lg-v40-thinq-version1-9-39-7.html this dll(LGUP_DLL_for_V40.zip)
now put the phone in download mode with usb to the pc
open powershell from the LGUP folder and type cmd enter
now indicate the address to the kdz file folder on your PC, in my case it was (lgup_cmd.exe com3 "C:\Program Files\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common\LGUP_Common.dll" "D:\Zona Downloads\lg v40\V405EBW20d_00_OPEN_EU_DS_OP_1106.kdz)
if you have correctly indicated the address to the kdz file, firmware update will start
wait up to 100%
my phone
I believe I tried this days ago. However, after days of trying, I reread this, and it is clear to me that there are two problems with these instructions: 1. Firstly so many other threads say use only 1.16 and above for this phone. 2. you don't offer a patched link. The standard dev requires special passwords and doesn't offer a way to register.
I haven't found a dev version above 1.14 that was patched. Someone offered a patched 1.15 that supposed to help. But non of the dlls work, which I suspect is because no lgup can work with lg v405ua, below a patched 1.16 dev. I don't think I have found that unicorn yet.
This guide still needs more work as it will get polished/updated later on, but here's how the flow guide works
This guide is specifically for HONG KONG V405EBW who Crossflashed/Refurbished/Partition DL the wrong firmware
> In most cases your phone will:
- flash to V405UA
- will have one working SIM
- no IMEI, SN
- WiFi doesn't work
What you will need: (links will be provided soon)
- QFIL
- LGUP 1.14 and 1.16
- PC
- OPEN HK 20a or 30a KDZ
- HK EBW QFIL Pie Dump
- Patience (lots of it)
Flow of how to fix it:
Backup >>> Restore EBW Model with QFIL >>> Refurbish with LGUP for IMEI and SN >>> Upgrade/root/TWRP (Optional)
Hi sir, hope see your solutions for this!
Thank you
