I have problems with Google maps it is inaccurate, it jumps to different streets, unknowing which direction I am heading. I tried to calibrate, I deleted cache, updated, the only solution I found to uninstall all updates and going with the stock apk.
Is it just me? (Maybe I have a defective unit)
Dose anyone have the same problem?

My pixel 4xl has that same problem on occasion. Why are you using an apk? I'm on the stock beta app and the problem happens once or twice a month

Anyone else having this issue ever since updating maps ? Google now says location services is off even though it's on...Anyone found a fix for it? Yes besides the obvious reboot, clear data, cache, uninstall and reinstall etc etc?
This does not surprise me. It might explain why I have so many networklocationloctor wake locks.
Having the same problem after update to 1.29.1540.16. Supposedly it is affecting several HTC devices, both HTC & Google are aware and the only work around is factory reset. I personally am going to wait before I try that
Factory reset only works for a couple of days. Then the problem reappears. So don't do that. Just have to wait for a fix of some kind...

same issue here. reported to Google through maps feedback, and I suggest everyone else does the same just to let them know how many people are suffering from this issue.

I'm having a couple of wonky issues that recently presented themselves.
First, the compass is acting up. It always points in the wrong direction in Maps. It is usually about 45 degrees off, but lately it seems to only want to point south. It also points in the wrong direction when using GPS Essentials, but I haven't tried anything else.
Second, and the more frustrating issue: Maps is not working. First issue with maps: When I search for a destination and look at the route (before I start the route guidance), if the screen shuts off the phone will not wake up. I will have to reboot the phone. Second issue with maps: Route guidance crashes the phone. Specifically, when the voice talks, maps will freeze, causing me to have to reboot the phone. The really strange part is if I turn the volume all the way down, I can navigate just fine. It is only when the voice talks that it crashes. However, as you can guess, a voiceless guidance isn't all that helpful.
Things that I have done in the past that may or may not have any affects on my current issue: I have used faux's kernel, but went back to the stock kernel. I also use Viper's audio fix.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try to fix this??
*sigh*
The only time things work correctly is if you ask for help, right? I don't know if I have a permanent fix, but the compass and maps issues have subsided.
Here's what I did: I tried to use GPS Essentials multiple times to calibrate the compass with no success. I then tried GPS Status and Toolbox and that seemed to properly calibrate the compass, so that issue may be resolved.
Concerning the maps crashing: I tried disabling Viper audio for the phone speaker (I hadn't had this issue when the voice guidance was through the bluetooth), and it seemed to act normally. Since I only used Viper for the phone speaker I decided to totally uninstall the driver and app.
I don't know if this is a perma fix, but I'll try it out for a while and see what happens.
Hello guys:
I have an issue with GPS. Sometimes the apps like Google Maps, Moovit, Tinder don't recognize my location. I have set High Accuracy. I tried using third apps, hard reset, but I can't find the solution.
If I reset the phone, the issue dissapear. After a while, the GPS starts to fail. But's very annoying restart the phone to solve de issue.
I updated to September 5th. Everything stock.
Could anybody help me, please?

Google maps crashes constantly and only occasionally works. Has this happened to a gone else or is there a fix?

Nope. It hasn't crashed on me so far. I use it every day for commuting and it's worked fine (am on BUKG)
It's janky and much more laggy on A12 as compared to A11, especially when moving the screen around and having a media app playing, but except for that stutteriness, it does the job. Doesn't crash. Not so far, at least.
Do you have a Hex-Theme enabled? If yes, you need to disable it, to make Maps working again. But be aware, if you disable your Theme one OneUI 4, you can't apply it again (it will reset after 10 Minutes).

Have you tried FC then clearing app storage in settings?
(I occasionally get repeat FC in Maps after a google cloud restore when setting up a new phone and clear storage resolves it).
