Hi everyone,
I start by saying that I am new in this field and I don't know how to use android studio. I would like to start programming by creating an alarm clock. I have seen some tutorials where they simply drag a "TimeClock" from the object bar. But I don't find it among the objects and I think it's a sort of extension to download. Do you know anything about it?

Hi, Ive been playing with photoshop for a while now off and on. For some reason with the new version (CS3) I cant find a tool to resize an object in an image. Im not trying to resize the whole image, but just an object. Does anyone know if im just overlooking it and can tell me how i can utulize this tool. Or, is it not in this version?
If I understand your question correctly, go to Edit, and press Free Transform while the object is selected. That will allow you resize a particular layer object.
Help!
I'm wondering if any interested developers out there could help me build a very simple application that shows a series of .jpg or .gif / .png images in sequence.
Essentially, I'm looking to publish a comic book in the market, but I lack the programming skills to create the application to shunt my images into!
[I could to this in flash, but we don't have flash on android .. yet. ]
My app would essentially be a reader for my comic. It would contain all the images for the comic, and a right swipe would load the next image and display it, a left swipe, would go backward.
I'm a professional animator, and I'm willing to trade flash animation lessons, or do some animation or illustration work for you or your app in trade.
Get in touch!
Thanks!

I am looking for the same thing. Let me know if anything pops up here.
Thanks
I've been programming for 3-4 years, about 1-2 of those years in C++(the rest in html, php, gml, js, and crapy stuff like dat). No Java, but I've heard its really easy to learn especially if you already know C++.
anyways, I've read the google tutorials and they haven't helped me since they make you download code instead of writing it (like the notepad tutorial).I've also seen all the videos that explain how android works, and I've read the stuff about it. I just want a tutorial that walks you through the process of programming an application.
basically what I want to learn is:
- How to tell if the user pressed a button, or interacted with a view
- draw an image to the screen
- open and close activities, like for a game you switch from the 1st level to the menu
- How to save data to a file, or database(whichever is best)
and things like displaying a list of items, or an alert and stuff like that.
I already setup eclipse and ran the Hello, Android application in the emulator AND my G1 with adb. So I just need to learn how to write the code
My goal(currently) is to make a picture on the screen move to the right when the user presses something(button, key, trackball, screen), but with my code, not cut & paste. I'll just turn that into a game later.
please help me with this, I've always wanted to develop apps for android(ever since I heard of it ). sorry if this sounds like a retarded question, but I've searched everywhere and I haven't found a good tutorial, and I cant buy a book
PS. I use the eclipse plugin for visually designing the layouts

I don't exactly remember from my HTML java applet days, but you can write straight to vm's frame buffer and write a simple program to change the position of the element scrolling it either way you want. Also, java input in html applets can be aided with javascript, so i used javascript to listen for user input and then have java respond to it, but that was over 10 years ago and I dont remember now T_T
really? thats helpful...
EDIT:
I've already read these tutorials on java: http://www.freejavaguide.com/corejava1.htm
Either I'm really blind or Just haven't searched hard enough.
Is there any software for creating themes for android phones ... more specifically my Desire HD?? - Preferably MAC?
This is my first android phone and I've come from a Nokia background ... they had a program dedicated to themeing/skinning the Symbian platform - just wondering if android has the same?
I've read about people extracting .apk's and editing png's inside of this ... then re-signing etc. This cant be the only way as its VERY long winded. Can't believe that there isnt software out there that has the Android UI elements that you can skin up?
Sorry if i've completely missed the post or guide if there is one!
you get photoshop make the assets then replace the ones from the apk for the program you want to change. that is one method and works for changing things like the widget backgrounds
then custom launcher can be customised ie dock and icons and then programs like bettercut can be used to use images in place of icons for programs ect.....
if you edit an apk tho you will have to resign it inorder to install it on your phone
Hi, I am looking for an application which simply shows HTML pages(local or remote) on home-screen(widget) and refreshes itself in specific time intervals.
It would be great for people, who knows how to work with javascript but doesnt know java and it would be very useful and simpler to create RSS-like widgets with it.
Any suggestion? Thank you.
I'm looking for something similar that will pull this image into a widget on my homescreen:
EYE EM GEE ESARESEE="http_//spc_noaa_gov/products/outlook/day1otlk_0100.gif" alt="SPC Day1 0100Z Outlook Categorical" width="582" height="408"
I had to edit the html a bit due to me being a noob
Success! Use "Webcam Widget" in the Android Market.
Then, you can copy the URL and resize the widget with LauncherPro!
Now I have Day 1 Convective Outlooks, Day 1 Storm Reports, Day 1 Watches/Warnings and the local news live Doppler Screen grab (added the widget four times) on one my homescreens!
i am looking for something which can handle HTML, Javascript and CSS
not only image files...
