Hey guys,
After I have updated my Note9 to April security update, some of the text in some of the dark theme apps (f.i. Phone app) has turned dark, which makes it practically unreadable. Example in attachment from Phone app.

Has somebody had similar issue after update?
Thank you and best regards
I just noticed that I barely use the Dialer since I have the Edge Contacts panel But I just checked and my colors are fine. Not sure if you can but try to clear cache of the Dialer app. Maybe that could fix it but you'd lose all your settings in the app itself I think. Or try to turn off/on dark mode, put another theme and go back to your current.
Thank you for your suggestion. Tried both solutions, but none of them worked. If I turn dark mode off, the font color is fine.
I have same situation (issue i guess?)
But maybe samsung wants it that way, that only letters found are highlighted.
I think this is a bug. If this was made on purpose, this is the worst UX approach in a modern history.
I had similar issues experimenting with two Good Lock modules. Theme Park and Home Up.
Yeah I'm having the same issue and it is DOING MY HEAD IN, only since the second last update has the contact text gone a dark grey...
No workaround so far as I want to use Dark Mode for everything else and I always use the dialer as it's much faster!
Oh now I get it, you're writing a number in the Keypad and the found contacts are dark gray. In that case yes, they're the same for me - I just never search for numbers that way so didn't notice. May update here.
Just head up to notice you guys that, oneui2.1 did fix this issue, at least on my phone.
Same here...

Hello folks... today I have for you a small theme and a fitting dialer.
While the theme isn't working well on landscape (I'll do it later), the dialer works both on portrait and landscape - it even works properly on square displays.
Have fun!

wow what a great theme...thnx Utak3r
Thanks. You can download also my theme for BatteryStatus (you can see it in action on this screenshot). It's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1634471&postcount=2771
This theme reminds me of Ubuntu Linux
Keep up the good work, but pardon me for having a different taste. I only like chocolate brown when I can eat it, not on my today screen.
But can you tell us what the visible today screen plugins are, besides BatteryStatus?
thanks
I like the look of this. Many thanks for your efforts.
Keep up the good work.

Just tried both items; excellent. 2 questions:
- have you thought about having another view option within the dialer to switch off the contacts window entirely?
- noticed as well that whatever view option one selects, as soon as you close the dialer down and reopen it defaults straight back to the "calls & contacts" view option. You might want to fix this so that whatever view option is chosen remains until manually changed over again.
- also have you thought of creating a dialer with a video option within it, so that its universal and can run on, say, a hermes/TyTN?
Cheers
WB
I feel a bit ashamed to post a request for some info as to what is wrong with the graphics of my screen when I receive an incoming call.
I haven't installed Slide 2 answer, but I had tested several contact apps which had their own incoming call interfaces.
The last was Resco contacts & since uninstalling it I'm left with a messed up interface :

as you can see it is 'broken' & even worse when I slide the button as the red & green image files break up.
I've been looking for the original htc cab to try to fix it & thoiught I had it, but I can't find it anywhere & I've been searching for a solution for a while.
Before as I couldn't solve the problem I ended up putting Resco contacts back just to have a visually workable interface, but RC has far too many bugs & is even more annoying (for other reasons).
So, shamefacedly (as I can't work it out myself) I'm wondering if anyone can either point me to the original files to rest this properly, or a way to solve the problem.
I just managed to solve the problem. I had previously installed a cab that made my dialpad black but it didn't create problems with the incoming call screen, but it seems that after uninstalling either Resco Contact manager or Yota (with black dialler) it didn't reset the incoming call screen properly. So I uninstalled the black dialer & the incoming call screen is fixed.
The attached file is blackout dialer for Twingerbread ROM. The update package should work on any version of the ROM. It may work with other ROMs too but i am not responsible if it doesnt and bricks your phone
Just flash is using CWM recovery over any existing version of twingerbread.

does it scale with various dpi's OP? other than that concern, it looks great!
The Contact square is all black and doesn't match
Sending, sending, sent.
It's true that the Contacts square doesn't match, but in that pic I have to say that that is one of the better Contact squares that I have seen.
I had an odd experience with dialers a few days ago. I'm sure there must be an explanation for all of it.
I downloaded a dialer that I thought looked pretty good in pics. This in an effort to gain a multi-DPI dialer. Once downloaded and installed, though, I couldn't stand to look at the dialer. In the Contacts square you could see the top of the letter C and maybe the t. I replaced it with Dialer One.
In Dialer One i would punch in that series of characters that is supposed to give you LbsTestMode. When I hit send, the old dialer that I did not like would immediately appear. No LbsTestMode, just that dialer.
I thought that to be strange.
I was so ready for 6.0.
(For some reason it happens here on XDA that I click on a thread, thinking that I am in a completely different forum. If this post doesn't seem to fit, it's because I though I was somewhere else. Seriously.)
Since I'm editing, I'll say that someone actually did a nice job with that gray line underneath the squares. Just my opinion.

Every night i get on my computer & like Google it is a big white page that lights up my whole room & is very bright for my eyes. I know i can add an image to Google but I'm talking about most webpages I visit are the same. Is there away i can change the white backround like in my settings or something to like grey or tan color? Just something that is less bright. I have changed my monitor brightness but thats not working that good. I am running windows XP. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Download and install this.

Wow that works. Now my screen is too dim.
Use blackle instead of google
http://www.blackle.com/
Use Styles for firefox/chromes? Then get a darker theme? My xda is dark grey and lime green for quotes
I use Google Chrome only! Firefox is to unstable, I always get NOT responding no matter what computer I'm on, I'm sick of Firefox. Thanks guys i will try your suggestions & get back to you. Really appreciate your help.
Thanks Rushco. +1. I'll half to wait until tonight to see if it works. It should, It has a bunch of great comments on it.
http://www.blackle.com/ This is DUMB! Not even close as good as Google, Just a very cheap version of it. Only good for your homepage color & after you click a link screens white again just what i didn't want!
Download this. It's free.

One thing which I do not like in android, is its white messaging app, which doesnt even have bubbles. I have serched for transparent messaging app for cm10.1 based roms, without luck, so I decided to hack it myself. This mod works on any phone running cm10.1, unofficial or official, no case.
Supported dpi is only HDPI at this moment, but I will add higher and lower dpis when I have time for it.

If you do not want to use transparent version of mms, you can also get the background which you want to use. Just post the picture as attachment, and I will make a version with that background. Easy right?
