This thread has been created to provide Redmi 4X feedback to @Arnova8G2 regarding his port of the Google Camera app.
Describe your experience (mostly what doesn't work as expected)
Provide logcats (the dev does not have your phone, so logs are needed if you want him to fix stuff)

I installed the app. It is mostly unusable due to crashes. Bt when it works photos are flawless.

I have 3.4b installed, works better, no crashes, more configuration options available.

I tried that version it doesn't work. What device did you choose from the settings for hdr+. I tried it kept crashing.

its not working bruh ! tried every HDR+ mode but the App is getting stopped evertime I do this.
though if you still want to use the HDR+ mode choose from Pixel & when the app crashes..
1.long press the App Icon
2.Select take a selfie
3.Change to Rear Camera
it will work but its annoying :silly:

I've been using this for a 3 days now and it is pretty awesome! Thank you so much! Photos are way better than any modded cameras out there.
The only thing I've been struggling to fix now is the slow motion. It says "can't connect to the camera". I've tried basic fixes out of YouTube and tried flashing some fixes I found on the internet -esp. here in XDA but I am still out of luck.
I am 99% complete now on this camera, just the slow motion isn't working. I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5-20170929-santoni-Final
I surely will wait for your help.

Thank you so much. I'll look forward to it. And one more thing as I am currently playing with the cam right now, 60FPS also won't work on my device. I have replaced media_profiles.xml and set the necessary permissions but it also says "can't connect to the camera"

Camera App crashes after making any changes in settings . I have done everything dats recomended but nothing helps .

What device are you using and what rom?

Are you using magisk root? Uninstall the stock camera first via any system app remover. Secondly, Try flashing camera 2 api module. Then download the modded camera on this thread. Works for me (except slow motion and 60fps video -but fix will be coming soon as per dev.)

Install camera2api enabler module. Then install the gcam attached on OP. Reboot and done

Same happened with me too.
I was on stock rom BTW.
I reverted back to stock media_profiles.xml
But the stock miui camera supports the slo-mo and works quite fine at a speed of x0.25

Can you port it to Android Oreo 8.0.0_r4 ?Once the camera starts working.He said that camera works on new build but is yet to release.that is agent fabulous's build.

One interesting thing I found out. 2X mode still captures full 13MP shots.

I just flashed it on the latest LineageOS nightly.
OnePlus Gallery sadly doesn't work that well: It doesn't show thumbnails of pictures (but videos are fine) also it can't edit pictures. Histogram isn't shown on details page.
The camera works fine so far, except for smile capture, slow motion and panorama.
Please tell me how to get the pro mode (isn't clear to me yet) I have to flash the OOS blobs on it, right? Where do I get them? Does that work on lineage?

Probably it require to have the specific camera HAL the ROMs with OOS blobs in built comes with, as this is a layer between the camera sensor and software probably that is the reason the OP5 Camera is not compatible/recognizing the features with non-OOS camera HALs, independently you flash the blobs or not.
The lag you're facing is due to the CM/LOS camera HAL the official LineageOS ROM has, you will need to perform a dirty flash in order to solve it.

I just dirty flashed the same nightly again. Now the whole camera is gone thought it would be like ColorOS camera, that it stays on updates. Is that possible?

Get working portrait mode for both front and rear camera on MI MIX 2

Finally I have a version of Gcam with with front and back camera portrait mode and working on android 7.1.1 as well on my MI MIX 2
Note - Now you don't need to purchase dual cam phone for portrait mode. U can do it with just a single cam
Pre-requisites
1) Any phone running android 7.1.1 and above
2) Unlocked bootloader
3) Working Twrp.img, Magisk 15.2 zip, camera 2 api enabler zip
4) Version of Gcam which I have provided
5) Lots of guts
Please note - I am not responsible for bricked device. U do this at your own risk
Procedure
1) Flash twrp, boot in twrp and swipe to allow modification (Necessary to mount system)
2) Flash magisk 15.2 zip then flash camera 2 api enabler
3) Reboot to system and install the provided Gcam apk
4) Open the app. Voila ! Now u have working portrait mode in both front and back cam
Note - This worked on my MI MIX 2 but it should work on any device

That isn't working for me either. But pics looks amazing

I can confirm it works but as stated no auto focus with miui 9 rooted.

I dont quite get it .. what does this do? What do you mean you dont need dual cam phone? The front camera is in the front and back is on the other side ... ?

It adds blur in the background.
Works fine for me with latest Gcam5 1.6
Autofocus also works if you force HDR+
The version from OP completely breaks AF.

As in, you don't need 2 rear or 2 front cameras for the bokeh effect, since it can be done in software.

Thank you brother. I can finally use this phone as my daily driver. Stock MIUI and camera are pure Garbage. This Camera mod combined with RR rom makes me comfortable enough to leave my Pixel 2 xl at home. Thanks again.

[New][Stable] Google Camera Mod with HDR+ & Portrait

There are a lot of versions of Google Camera Mod floating around on XDA forums for obvious reason - there's no single version that works just fine on all phones.
It also means that not everyone has the patience to test out every version, with every possible configuration. But fortunately, I've found a stable version among all these hundreds of these after trying many of them from different sources.

This works on almost all 8.0+ ROMs as long as they have Camera2 API support and are 64bit builds. Make sure you're ROM meets these requirements.

In my Moto g5 plus i have downloaded this version only and only vedio recording, paranoma and photo sphere are working and I try to switch to photo mode it stops working crashes and says open app again and this goes on and after sometime it says force close

I use Pixel Experience ROM. Usually when I install a new GCAM it sits along the one provided on the ROM, but when I installed the new minimal version it seems to have overwritten it. Version is 5.2.025

I'm running LineageOS 15.1 and when I'm playing music on Spotify, if I go to take a picture with this camera it will stop Spotify. This only happens with HDR on. I'm assuming this is due to it having to use all the phone resources to process the HDR photo? The load time takes quite a while for the HDR photos too, and sometimes it will just keep loading forever when I try to view the photo.
The HDR-off mode of this camera also doesn't work well. The picture it takes just glitches out at times and is splotchy looking.

gcam minimal is the most stable I have used.

I think it's because of the microphone usage by both apps.

Yes, because both of these mods are Arnova8G2's and use same package name.

Mi A3 Stock Camera for Custom Roms 10 [Magisk Module]

Instructions:
1. Upload File to Magisk
2. Restart
3. In case it doesn't work, manage the permissions manually.
No fix for 48Mpx needed.
Bugs:
There are no or unknown.
Running:
Wide angle

Note:
* Use only with rom vendor10, Android 10.
* Do not try to combine with ANX Camera, I am not responsible for failure if combined.
* It does not enable 48Mpx in the gcam, apparently it is a problem inherited from Android 10 in this device since I have verified that neither the open camera shows them in the stock rom, in Android 9 the 48Mpx mode worked well outside the camera stock, apart from the limitations of 1 / 4s that also affect custom roms in third-party apps (OpenCamera, some gcam) etc.

What is the maximum exposure time that you used?
I don't think it is more than 32 secs.
I did flash it in magisk!

I installed this câmera here under my actual CrDroid 6.6 ROM and for point-and-shoot it works better than ANX Camera.
However, if you wish the functions of the Pro Mode, like options to Focus and Shutter Speed, so you have to go to ANX + Fixes >.<'

This camera is for Mi A3 custom roms.
For addapt at your device, intent change libs in arm and arm64 principally in camera device and libcameraservice.so

32 sec patch breaks sounds On Havoc too!

This magisk module doesn't require the use of the 32sec fix. I'm on extended reborn rom, everything working fine.

Hi,
I tried this and it install fine but when I open the app it is recieving no input from the camera and can not access any options.
I'm also unable to run any of the GCAM ports as they just crash when I open them.
I'm running crDroid and the lineage camera works, as does open cam, but neither of them support the higher megapixel modes.
I'm using the Australian Xiaomi Mi A3.
Can someone please help me to get a quality camera app installed?

Nevermind! I had to manually add permissions to the stock camera app.
However, GCAM apps are still crashing, even if I add permissions for them.
