Huawei has announced Nougat update plans for its smartphones. The Android 7 update for Huawei devices will arrive in the form of version 5.0 of the Chinese company's EMUI skin. The roll-out will begin sometime in Q1, 2017, with the Huawei Mate 8 and P9 getting the update first, followed by the P9 Plus, P9 lite, nova, and nova Plus.
The new EMUI 5.0, Huawei claims, is more efficient, secure, and user friendly. It "significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function," the company says in a press release, adding that "furthermore, the user can reach 90% of the core functions in just two to three clicks."
The new UI also lets users choose between the standard layout and an app drawer. "Additionally, users can jump between their professional and personal lives effortlessly with profiles now being able to run in parallel – no switching of phones necessary."
Coming back to the update, those rocking a Huawei P9, P9 Plus, P9 Lite or Mate 8 will be able to participate in the beta testing as well.

Or has there been an update that fixes that already?

Yes
How stable is the beta? I'd love trying Nougat, but not if it ducks everything up. (That wasn't a typo, I'm just hilarious.)

I think TWRP only needs an unlocked bootloader and adb - not root, since you can unroot a rooted device and keep your custom recovery

But it still makes warranty void, and that's what I'm afraid of.

Yea, then you better wait for final release. I'm rooted but still waiting for final release as well... beta is only ok for secondary phones in my opinion, not the daily one.... Let's hope it gets here soon

Yep, the beta is open for lld-l31 143 , and with this update I'm on 144, so the beta just disappear from the application

Dam so my constant F5/Refreshing on beta app is a waste of team. Wonder why they decided to lock it down to just one build. With roll back being slightly risky there properly to much risk to even try it. Oh well we will just have to wait on a full released.

Oh man, that sucks Well, then I guess I'll just have to wait for the official version too... Any idea when that'll actually be released? Apparently it's already available in FirmwareFinder but I'm not quite willing to go that route at the moment.

Friends,
I watched few YouTube videos claiming Xiaomi has started rolling out android 10 with stable build 10.4.8.0. I am yet to receive this update, have others started getting this update?

The first batch is always on first come first serve basis. If no major bugs are detected, they'll push it again post 72hrs. Wait for the second push.

I am waiting too.. ?
Received the OTA update today morning. Been testing it. No problems of any sort till now. Everything is working as it should. Did not notice much of changes from 9 to 10.. Only thing new I noticed was the digital wellbeing ...
Guess will have to wait for MIUI 11 for those changes..

Using Dark mode doesn't make changes to all the apps. Also, themes do not apply properly in dark mode.
I don't get the latest ota update 10.4.8 and my k20 pro 128gb is still on 10.3.5.0. will they roll out in phases?
Hi, has anyone tried Android 10 beta for Mate 20 lite?

Hi @ All...!
What about it? My own update check tells me that nothing new would be available for my Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G (currently 13.2.8.0 TLBEUXM Stable)...! But this app (see screenshot ) already shows me the "14.0.7.0 (TLBEUXM) Stable" as available...
greetings,
Heiko
Hi @ All...
Now I'm kind of completely through the wind...
When I go into the settings of my Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, I see the new installed update 13.2.8.0 on "Over the Phone" (came in the night to 30.01.2023)...
When I go to this menu item, I see the installed 13.2.8.0 with the beautiful colored big "13..."
When I click on the button with this large colored "13," I come to the update menu item... and then a large colored "14" with "MIUI 14" (with the 13.2.8.0 below) appears...
What exactly does this mean??? I find this quite confusing now...
greetings,
Heiko

On your phone, it's still written Stable but the reality is different.
Xiaomi has been updating with stable Betas on the Stable channel for a few years now, so check before updating.
