Hi all!
I need to record calls due to professional reasons and I don't manage to acheive it.
My phone has it's original european rom and I don't want to root it.
Does any one knows any app that could allow me to record calls?
In my previous phone I used Total Recall that worked fine, but I dont managed to make it work with the A51.
Any help is appreciated.
the acr call recording app
Hello,
you can try this app: ACR (Another Call Recorder)
It´s available in the play store and the free version should do all the things you need. For more specifications you can use the paid version.
As i read in the commends you should play a bit around with the microfon settings because of the volume of the incomming voice.

to get a record of calls from the line (high quality). you need to change the firmware region. There are three regions in which call recording and Samsung Pay work simultaneously. India, Thailand, Vietnam. If you need the Samsung Pay to work, you need to configure it before manipulating (I recommend that before these actions, configure everything that you use, for example, payment, biometrics, etc.). After setting up Samsung Pay & etc. (if you need it of course), download any of the firmware (India, Thailand, Vietnam), take only one file from the firmware - "HOME_CSC ....." Next, we need a computer with the Samsung driver installed and the program ODIN. run ODIN on the computer with administrator rights. connect the phone. insert the HOME_CSC file ... in the program one into the CSC window and flash it. !!!important. ODIN program and firmware file must be located in the root of the disk, otherwise there may be errors. SIM card should not be on the phone. !!! I also advise you to backup, just in case. but nothing should be lost. maybe after the firmware several regional applications will appear - disconnect or delete. Regional holidays may appear on the calendar - go to the phone menu - settings - applications - calendar - reset the application, clear the cache. for clarity, watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzVksyLJH6U&t=1111s (start watching 8.25 minutes) video for example, there is too much that we don’t need. follow only my instructions, I repeat, there are inaccuracies in the video - it is just for a good example. good luck! Have a good mood! let it all work for you!
P.S.!!! You do not need to unlock anything. no need to put a tick anywhere and unlock the bootloader! You just need to turn off the phone, then enter boot mode and flash this file. all!
P.P.S. Your firmware should have an identical version of the bootloader. bootloader versions must match. an example is A515FXXU3ATC3 - the bootloader version is the fifth digit from the end, i.e. here in the example, the third bootloader. you can have any, you need the same firmware - download the appropriate one. If in the future you want to receive updates over the air, do the procedure in the opposite direction - flash the file back from your own firmware, update. then you can again flash a new file from India, Thailand or Vietnam. you can also flash the entire firmware of these countries, but there will be no updates by air until you return to your firmware and most importantly you will have to configure the phone. when flashing a single file, configuration is not required.
P.P.P.S. from programs that record from the microphone, the best recording is obtained from the Cube ACR program (you need to add an increase in clarity in the settings) the bad thing is that the recording quality is still worse and this is an extra application that has its own permissions.
Thank you. It works. But the issue I am facing the facial recognition not working, while registering the face it failed..
Hi YOisuPU,
Thanks for your huge help.
Let me see if I understand well: once i flash the file "HOME_CSC ....." i will no longer get the OTA updates?
Where can I download the firmware (India, Thailand, Vietnam) ?

Until recently, it was believed that in order to receive updates by air, you need to repeat the operation in the reverse order, that is, flash your own HOME_CSC .. get updates .. and then flash HOME_CSC India, Thailand, Vietnam again. Now I get messages that updates are arriving to someone in this state, since most firmwares are inter-regional and differ only in the presence of local applications. I conclude - that everything happens on an individual basis, perhaps an update will arrive and the recording of calls will also remain in place or maybe not. but if the update doesn’t arrive for a very long time, we know what to do. we can download the firmware ourselves and update it all through odin. and then install HOME_CSC India, Thailand, Vietnam again. or we can install the full firmware of India, Thailand, Vietnam and download the updates each time independently. To save your data, make a backup or just flash HOME_CSC. In general, there are two files in the downloaded firmware, flash one of them 1) HOME_CSC - your data will remain in the phone 2) CSC - your data will be deleted - the phone will be like new from the store. firmware can be downloaded https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a51/firmware/#SM-A515F

never encountered this. I will try to find the answer on the net. I can advise on my own - for any glitches and incomprehensible situations - try reset the application. settings - applications - show system apk - choose the apk you need - cache reset + data reset.
p.s. I recommend that before these actions, configure everything that you use, for example, payment, biometrics, etc.

Hey, i'm just asking to be sure.
Are there any differences between the countries of the C5303 stock roms?
I don't know if it's just a network failure for today or the fault of a wrong rom.
I'm from Germany and after some experiments with the custom roms i've gone back to stock but
i was too lazy to create an backup of it (only created TA backup), so i just used a CE1 (Central Europe) rom.
I just want to be sure about this
so that maybe it's the weather or another problem here at my place. Long story short: Although i've got full network service
(Well, 2G only at my place, but still full.) i can't receive the settings (MMS / internet) from my provider with the phone.
I should tap to try it again and so on. Never stops, after a few tries it recommends me to visit sonymobile.com for settings, blah blah.
Also i can't receive incoming calls sometimes. Outgoing works.
Funny thing is, if i set it manually with an access point (APN), it can establish a connection and it works like intended.
A few minutes ago i thought that this was the for 'not being able to receive incoming calls problem', because i could receive calls again after deleting, but only for a short period.
Never had anything like that before and so there must be another reason for that.
I've already checked the net for some germany roms, because like i said, i did not backup mine, but no success.
I'm remembering my Nokia N8, there was a flash tool(which i can't remember) which showed me all the firmware files, ready to download, after that, ready to flash. Sony hides everything?
Any guesses?
I know that C5302 and C5303 are different between LTE and non-LTE, but are there changes
between CE1 and a rom especially for germany? (Vodafone)
Seems to be working today, i will keep an eye on it.
As a rule this should not make any difference to phone as long as your phone and what you are flashing match.
I flashed ce build. 257 as mine only had. 211 from uk. And manually set apn/mobile data
Searched Google and found sites with data
Never had issue with calls dropping or not receiving
Only differences will be what is bundled by the creators provider,I think German Tele providers/ roms have less bloatware but if you root you can uninstall all the bloat
Sent from my C5303 using xda premium
You can download sony update service (just google it).
With this you can flash a fresh and stock rom. The downside is you will lose your settings and so on ( like factory reset).
The program will let you choose the phone and country and that is it.
Had the same problem as you didnt backup the rom also when trying to install supercharger v6 (what went wrong the first time).

It's in the program itself, somewhere in the upper right corner if i remember correctly,
but it has no influence on the firmware that will be uploaded to the phone.
It recognizes it directly from the phone and download the matching rom from their servers.
So you can do nothing really to change that.
Yeah, no problems so far with CE1, seemed to be a unlucky day in terms of flashing and provider failures.
Hi fellow XDA members,
I own a Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920I) which was bought in Singapore under operator Starhub (STH). I happen to use this phone in India and I later realized the phone supports VoLTE but the firmware didn't so I stuck with using the Jio4GVoice app for a long time now and I'm done with it due to lot of bugs and call drops.
I looked online for solutions and found many that involved root or custom recovery to flash the so-called VoLTE fix. I have read articles that said the Indian firmware supports VoLTE so I So, I tried the following:
Download the Indian firmware and flashed via odin. But it fails with error specified file not found. Did a research and i unchecked the Re-partition and again tried and it fails at flashing system . So I re-flashed the STH firmware to get the phone boot up. I learnt that CSC is responsible for getting the region specific network to work.
Extract CSC from Indian firmware and simply flash it on odin. But, as articles say that I'll have 4 files for each boxes to place in odin I only had one tar (<firmware_HOME_tar.md5). Then I read, extracting the modem.bin file and ziping that to a tar file and flash it via odin will help. I tried that but no luck (should I factory reset it?).
Both the firmwares have a single file and articles say that there will be CSC_<firmware>.tar and CSC_HOME_<firmware>.tar.
I don't know where I'm getting wrong. Is this even possible or i'm simply wasting my time? I use samsung pay and S health extensively so I don't wanna trip knox.
Update:
I read that cache.img is CSC from here. So extracted the cache from Indian firmware and flashed that to my phone that has STH firmware. I used the Phone info app and found baseband has been changed and available CSC shows INS but active CSC is STH. Now I guess i just need to activate that CSC. I tried the steps mentioned here but it doesn't work.

here is another method you can try. but this only works if your phone supports it.
For firmware that uses a multi-csc code, you need to select a sales code before attempting to connect to a cellular network. This is especially true for 3G and 4G connections.
There are two ways to select a sales code:
1. Enter *#06# in the phone dialer to obtain the IMEI number for the device. You can then enter *#272*Device IMEI# to select a sales code. If your Samsung device does not return a menu, the product code is not a multi-csc code.
OR
2. Install an CSC changer app, such as the "Phone INFO" app. CSC changer apps do require root access, and they do not work on all phones and all versions of Android.
Hit thanks if it helps !
P.S. IT ONLY WORKS ON STOCK ROM ...! so you need to be on Stock Rom.

Thanks for your help. I tried solution 1 and it Worked
However, before trying out your solution, my device was in this state:
1. Flashed Singapore ROM
2. Extracted every file from Indian rom and repacked the tar except the system.img (as this was failing to flash in odin)
3. After booting I got a notification from SupportAgent telling me that unauthorized changes have been made, tap here to reboot to undo those changes
4. I then read your solution and updated the CSC to INS from STH. And device got factory reset and for the first time I saw VoLTE logo on my phone :victory:
5. I finished the setup and still getting the same error in notification from SupportAgent. So I tapped on it, and device rebooted to a new blue screen with sim card logo on it and then boot up to system.
6. Now, in the quick settings, VoLTE toggle is gone and I got WiFi Calling toggle instead. However I still have the VoLTE icon on the status bar.
7. So later that day, I redo all the steps.
- Flashed Singapore firmware (This time, the CSC Country was Singapore and the active CSC was XTH instead of STH. There was VoLTE toggle)
- Flashed Cache from Indian Firmware (CSC Country changed to India the active CSC was INS automatically. Now got WiFi Calling toggle)
8. I noticed other changes in the software:
- The gallery App doesn't show Grid view so I'm stuck with List view
- The Samsung Pay says, its not supported for this device
What do you think about this?

are you still able to use voLTE ?? after these steps.
about Support agent. Ignore it if you can. or skip it. you do not need this as there aren't any official updates after this. (this is only because now system knows that you have modified it, and it will not receive any update. if you can the disable the Support agent app via settings or if possible via root.)
samsung pay will Not work. as knox should have been tripped to 0x1, so Samsung pay like apps will NEVER work after knox trip.

If you only want the firmware and know what you're doing, then links will be at bottom.
If possible, Use the original charging cable that came with your phone, as sometimes there can be errors if you use an aftermarket cable.
If you don't know how to flash or convert from U to U1, read on.
As a precaution, I recommend removing your SIM card and SD card before flashing!
THIS WILL RESET YOUR PHONE!
Firstly, Download the modified Odin below as well as the firmware.
Step 1. Ensure that you have the Samsung drivers for mobile devices installed (which will also be linked below.)
Step 2.Extract the Firmware Zip that you downloaded, Open the modified Odin and click on the BL box, Then select the corresponding BL file.
Click the AP box and select the AP file, Do the same with the CP and CSC files by putting the matching file name into the corresponding boxes.
Step 3.Ensure USB Debugging is enabled and then shut down the phone. Then hold (In this order) Volume Down, Bixby, and Power button until you get to the Download mode warning screen.
Press the Volume Up button.
Step 4. Plug in the phone, and check Odin to ensure you see a blue box that says COM (also has a number at the end)
Step 5.Press Start in Odin and wait till you see pass, if it says PASS, The flash was successful and within about 10 minutes your phone will boot into the welcome screen.
If you are converting from the U firmware to the U1 firmware then you will have no carrier bloatware should have better performance and possibly better battery life as well.

Call recording is only available on certain international firmware. It's a CSC feature that isn't available on the U.S. firmware. If you have root you can add the call recording feature to your CSC and that will be the only way to get call recording unless you find the specific international firmware that has it enabled but that firmware may not be best suited for your carrier/region. Also, enabling call recording will replace the call waiting & "add call" button which will make 3-way calls and ability to answer call waiting a problem. For this reason I always chose to not enable call recording. However, with root you can change csc anytime you need call recording and revert when you no longer need it. If I remember correctly, you also have to do a factory reset when adding the call recording in CSC because the csc/settings database is created on first boot only and adding this line in CSC after the phone has already booted and created it's CSC database will not enable call recording. It must be done on a fresh boot after a wipe/restore. I wanted to give you a heads up based on my experience so you know what to expect. Root is going to be mandatory unless you find the international firmware (rare) that has call recording enabled from Samsung.

As far as i know u can flash any firmware related to N960U, N960U1 and even N960W.
for specific carriers after flash u will have their bloatwares .
Will a N960U converted this way take OTA updates in the same way that a phone that started out as a N960U1 would?
Is there a way I can make this work on a Linux based OS?

I've got an unrooted xz1c that came with some sort of non-US stock firmware - which I know, because the fingerprint reader works. It's been nagging me to update it to Pie since I bought it, and I'm thinking I'd like to do it via the "official" (OTA) route, since it claims to be able to do it in-place, without having to reinstall apps, restore data, etc. What I want to avoid, though, is ending up with a US update, losing my fingerprint reader, and having to jump through hoops to get it back.
The build number in About Phone says 47.1.A.12.270. Is there some way of determining the current region, and confirming what region the update plans to install (without starting the update) - and/or forcing the region to match what I currently have? My google accounts, phone #, etc. are all US-based, if that makes any difference in terms of the update deciding what region is appropriate.
I was looking at a guide for installing specific region firmware via xperifirm/newflasher, but it indicated that the result would be a wiped phone, and I don't have time to deal with re-configuring everything from scratch right now.
Firmware customization does not change by applying OTA update. It will install the update of the same region that is already installed.

In the past the OTA updates have famously locked thier owners out of thier phones by not regonising the unlock code that has been set, so make sure you disable it before you start.
Also, updating from 8 to 9 leaves some apps glitchy and there have been several reports of phone problems that can only be resolved by a full factory reset.
If you want the best experiance from your phone, wiping it would be the best option when upgrading.
Use Xperia transfer to back up apps/call history/contacts/text history. Then restore once you've wiped your phone.
@meeotch1 If you are happy with Oreo and without the latest security patches and updates, just let the phone OTA update it to the final Oreo version 47.1.A.16.20 and leave it there.
You can force close the Software update app from app settings to make it stop nagging about the update. And with adb you can even disable it permanently (and enable later if you wish to go for Pie).
Thanks for the advice. Good to know that the nag is disableable. So I take it that OTA upgrades *within* major versions (so Oreo 47.1.A.12.270 to 47.1.A.16.20) do not suffer the glitches mentioned by the first reply above?
Also, when I eventually go Pie, what's the least painful / most reliable restore method after wiping the phone? Is the built-in Xperia backup/restore available in Settings good enough? I'd prefer not to upload all my data to Google, unless there's some guarantee that it's encrypted. Don't need the NSA digging through my messages to radical terrorists and international drug lords.
To find out the customization, go to the service menu and select "Software Info".
You'll see an entry named "Customization Version" with a number like "1310-4371_R6C".
You can then look in XperiFirm at the column named "CDA".
On the example I gave, "1310-4371" corresponds in XperiFirm to "Customized US".
You can also look further down in the software info at "Current Modem Config" where the format will be something like:
/system/etc/customization/modem/amss_fsg_lilac_tmobile_us_ims_tar.mbn"
That tells me that my SIM card matched a mobile operator that is recognized as having a valid modem configuration file for my customization's region and, as such, loaded the correct modem file for that operator.
It also shows that I'm using T-Mobile US as my operator (tmobile_us) and I have some kind of VoLTE available (ims).
I want to change the firmware on my S10e to the UK version (as it currently seems to be an overseas variant).
I want to change as little else as possible, so I will flash with the HOME CSC file.
This is the first time I've used Odin, so I have what is probably a very basic question:
When I start Odin it comes up with a pop-up warning "Please be sure to delete your Google account(Samsung account) before downloading...".
Do I need literally need to delete the account, or will it simply ask for the account password at the appropriate time?
No worry about it but when you used csc it'll erase it and after bootup data required to setup your old account
Thanks. With your reassurance I just did it with no errors and everything came back as it was, all apps and data seem to be present and correct. The only strange thing I've noticed is although the build I downloaded said it was BTU, the software version shown under Software Information now has:
SAOMC_SM-G970F_OSM_DBT_12_0006
DBT/XEU,DBT/BOG
From what I could make out, XEU is a UK code and the version on the phone that I've just replaced was linked to a French operator in Morocco, which might explain the BOG; but I have no idea where the DBT is coming from.
ofcourse home csc will not gonna effect on your data
but regular csc will definitely wipe you
and DBT is German
