Hello, I unfortunately have Hard Brick my Realme X2 PRO, and I would like to know if after the manipulations I have done they could take it as warranty.
I have
-Unlocked the bootloader
-Rooted the phone
-Unroot the phone
-Relock the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock blablah"
I know that it was the bootloader relock that caused the brick and I would like to know if they can take it as warranty since it is unroot and with the bootloader locked.
If I say to customer service "problem during an update" is it valid? thank you in advance.
Not to worry mate , just tell them the phone is not booting after some ota update . It should be valid

You can always relock the bootloader and take it to them...
They'll probably not be able to find out the difference (as long as its running on stock ROM)..:silly:
However, what is wrong with your device?? Maybe a factory image flash could repair it...? :fingers-crossed:

Of course they will. Fastboot mode will show the following:
Status code 0 = locked with warranty
Status code 3 = unlocked without warranty
Status code 2 = relocked without warranty.
Besides, Motorola keeps track. That's why the unlock code is unique to every device.
Hello there, I was just wondering if anyone returned their Asus Rog Phone 2 for repair or simply returned it after relocking the bootloader.
On XDA there is a great guide on locking the bootloader here https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/how-to/guide-convert-cn-to-ww-rom-26-08-t3961042http://
So would be interesting to see if locking the bootloader is all we need to peacefully rma the phone or does asus have some other sneaky peaky something going on to detect if we ever rooted.
I am perfectly happy with my phone its just some people on my youtube channel were asking if its safe to return after relocking I just said I haven't heard of anyone doing so, so not 100% sure.

Most Android devices have a record in system chip. Once bootloader has been unlocked it will change status from 0 to 1 and even if you relock the device it will still stay as 1. Since you triggered the log thingy. So Asus techs will still be able to find out that bootloader has been touched. For example on Samsung devices they use something called a KNOX chip and when you unlock bootloader on a Samsung S9 or s10 the Knox chip will break and no longer work and status will say that Knox chip has been triggered with 0 to 1. That's how Samsung finds out if you have unlocked your bootloader on their devices. So Asus have probably a way aswell on their end.
You can return the device for repair but repair service will reject warranty repair and will put a price how much it will cost you to repair the device. Since they will see bootloader has been touched. So then warranty is voided.
I returned my 1st one because of no volte. Bl was unlocked, relocked using asus's app before the tool here was available. No issues, got a full refund.
I doubt they wouldn't repair it under warranty, unless it was actually caused by a bad flash, or something.

What Asus app did you use to relock the bootloader? I thought the only way to relock is to use a fastboot command. Asus has an apk for unlocking the phone, haven't heard of one for relocking.

Ah OK no worries. At least now we know that people can safely return or repair their phones if they relocked the bootloader properly. Thanks for responding.

Afaik in EU they cant refuse repairing faulty hardware because you tried a software mod.
Since ASUS voids warrenty for their phone if the bootloader has been unlocked, I wonder if the bootloader is re-locked, whether the warranty comes back or at least they cannot notice it.
When you unlock BL (once) their app send info about this to ASUS and your phone will permanently banned for OTA-updates. Also it will void warranty (same app send info to ASUS) and it's void even if you relock BL back.
You can relock BL but there is no sense to do it.

Does the invalidation of warranty exclude payed services too, like for changing broken exterior or screen?

What do you mean? Of course if you want to replace something in your phone - you can ask about it official service center, but you'll have to pay for it)
If your main board die, and you have unlocked BL - you can replace it on paid basis.

I don't know. But I guess on paid basis you can get same bunch of services that users with valid warranty have.
Hey , my phone is under warranty, if I flash a custom rom is there any way I could claim my warranty just in case ?

You can install any custom rom but for the warranty a stock rom must be on it.
It doesn't matter if you've tried custom roms before.

Hi Anmol150704,
What NOSS8 said basically.... You can do what you like with the phone once you get it, but for the warranty to be honoured.... you need to return it to stock before claiming or they will blame the custom rom for the issue. So as long as you device is functioning enough to return to stock, you should be ok.
And unlike Samsung, there is no Knox/Triggers that I am aware of that they can tell if its been flashed or not. Which is the main reason I came away from Samsung, due to the forced compliance to stick to stock if you wish things to continue working or claim a warranty.
Cheers, Lister
But don't worry if your phone is dead with a custom rom and of course you won't be able to reinstall a stock rom, there is EDL mode but using this mode the warranty is over (software problem only, not hardware).
By following the flash instructions and informing it beforehand, it is quite rare to destroy the phone.
Xiaomi is solid.
All clear , thanks a lot
Yes you can, I recently reverted back to stock miui 13 from Evolution X with the help of Mi Flash. All you have to do is to download Usb drivers, Your device TGZ Firmware and Mi Flash Tool. There before flashing you can select lock and clean/flash and the device will be sent to locked status once again.

Sellers buy from Xiaomi, the warranty conditions are set by Xiaomi, of course, the warranty period is different depending on the country.
If there is a beta version for your Xiaomi model, you can unlock the bootloader with Mu unlock which, as a reminder, is an official tool provided by Xiaomi.
If you buy a Xiaomi in one country because it is cheaper and you used and lived in another country, the warranty will be denied by Xiaomi.(common case where the seller refuses the guarantee and send it to Xiaomi.).
I unlock my bootloader and install the custom rom but after some time I flash stock rom but suddenly I relock my bootloader and my phone is bricked. I unable to flash any images and can not boot in recovery I face this error please help .

I don't know what the price is in your country, it costs me about 3 dollars in my country alone and how long it takes you should ask realme customer service in your country I use neo 2t only version Chinese domestic rom so the
customer service center in my country must contact the Chinese factory to apply for permission and the original stock ROM this to unbrick my phone takes about 2 days
