ABOUT
This is more of like a learning attempt, as I never build cm-14.1 for n7000 before. Besides that, I think that it might be useful if I can rework the device sources to make it more proper and organized. I hope this build with new security patch will benefit people who wants to stay on cm-14.1.

All my builds are fully based on works by @rINanDO, @bauner, @ChronoMonochrome, fourkbomb, numerous n7000, Exynos4 and LineageOS developers. Full credits goes to all the developers. I hope no one is being left out, please notify me if there is.
INSTALLATION
All my builds are emulated storage capable. Repartition is required to install my builds.
And also, please backup EFS partition and store in a dry, safe place.
The below instructions assumes that your device has TWRP IsoRec installed, and all your data will be destroyed in the process.
1. Choose your desired emulated storage partitioning configuration: - Android 9/10 capable: lanchon-repit-20170115-system=1.5G+wipe-data=max+wipe-sdcard=min+wipe-preload=min+wipe-n7000.zip
- Android 7.1.2 capable: lanchon-repit-20170115-system=1G+wipe-data=max+wipe-sdcard=min+wipe-preload=min+wipe-n7000.zip
* Emulated + Non-emulated Internal Storage: change the values of -sdcard=min+wipe to -sdcard=4G+wipe, where 4G is your desired non-emulated Internal Storage size.
The last option provides best compatibility, as non-emulated storage ROMs will work as intended on such partitioning, and emulated storage ROMs will detect the non-emulated storage as an SD Card.
This allows you to switch back-and-forth between emulated capable and non-emulated capable ROMs without repartitioning.​2. Reboot into recovery. Flash emulated storage capable TWRP IsoRec (flash as Image to Recovery): i9100-LOS-16.0-Emulated-Storage-TWRP-3.3.1-1.img
3. Reboot recovery. Flash i9100-to-n7000 TWRP conversion: lanchon-twrp-patcher-20160417-n7000.zip
4. Reboot recovery. Flash the repartition script that you have chosen in Step 1.
5. Reboot recovery. Wipe /cache, /system, Non-emulated Storage. Then, run Format Data.
6. Proceed to flash my builds.
7. Flash ARM nano GAPPS and SU if desired.
8. Prepare a coffee or tea and sit back on your couch. Reboot system.

The logs are pretty self-explanatory, repit requires you to run from /tmp. When the location of repit is to be unmounted during repartition, it will fail and require you to flash again from /tmp.
So you just copy the zip file to /tmp and flash from there.

i opend the file manager and go to /tmp and i found the script file there i didnt copy it so i try to install but didnt work the same massege appears ?

Attach a picture of the error after you flash from /tmp.
Or maybe, manually unmount /sdcard1 and flash again from /tmp.
/tmp is not a storage, /tmp is a linux tmpfs, it is not a persistent storage. Think of it as a RAM.

You couldn't just update the assembly from bauner. Security patch. Or can your assembly be put on top of a bauner assembly?

Thanks for this ROM this is the most stable rom i have ever used and it gives me excellent performance much better than samsung own touchlagwiz on jellybean 4.1.1 the only issue i have encountered i the horrendrously bad battery life and overheating the phone gets so hot that you can boil a drop of water on it.

I used that Android 9 ROM but lot of times system ask to close or wait apps not responding, so I think it is too slow for daily usage (even with Lspeed and FDE.ai installed).
EDIT: Unfortunately it seems that it cannot install magisk in this ROM
and actually the Lineage 16 build with the LSpeed performance preset and trimming the partitions seems reasonably performant.

What is the concept behind MultiSystem?
It runs virtual Android ROMs on microSD, like booting multiple systems on a PC from different partitions/disks. So, your stock system partition is kept safe/rooted. It won't affect performance or anything (might even be better on the virtual system if you've high quality microSD & the device supports its speed). Also, you can freely modify any of the virtual systems & in the worst case, reboot the safe stock system or another working virtual system to recover. So, no root loss or potential damage to the original device partitions.

Does it work as a recovery replacement?
It IS a POWERFUL recovery replacement. You can do whatever you do in recovery with the APK. HOW? recovery does its magic b/c it doesn't depend on the system & has its own kernel/ramdisk. In MultiSystem, you can boot a virtual ROM from extSD that sure doesn't depend on stock system partition or any of the other virtual ROMs (it does depend on the kernel, which you can't flash on locked devcies anyway). Hence, install, backup, restore, ... & all recovery functions are all possible +++ more features since you're running a full ROM not just a recovery ramdisk like Safestrap.
Bottom Line: I think it's the best & most convenient recovery replacement ever for locked devices & it can also attract unlocked devices for the powerful features, MultiROM, and recovery from within ROM.

Can I use FlashFire along with MultiSystem?
Yes. MultiSystem is compatible with FlashFire & fully supports it on stock & virtual ROMs. So, you can use both/any of them for flashing to either a stock or virtual ROM. However, it's recommended to use MultiSystem when flashing to the stock system partition (shouldn't be needed anyway since you can always be safe & flash to your old/new virtual ROMs).

exFAT or FAT32 for the 1st partition (your new external storage)
EXT4 for the 2nd partition (your MultiSystem partition)

How much space are we going to have for virtual ROMs?
The size of the 2nd partition is optional (> 4GB) for your ROMs, but here is an estimated sizes:
1 Virtual ROM Uncompressed = ~2.7 GB ---> ready for running
1 Virtual ROM Compressed = ~1.5 GB ---> for full ROM backups
I'd say better allocate 4 GB for each ROM you plan to run. If you just need one virtual ROM to keep stock system safe, 4 GB 2nd extSD partition is enough; The remaining space is allocated for the 1st extSD partition as your external storage.
For me, I run Linux too from extSD via MultiSystem. So, I've 64 GB extSD card with two partitions 32 GB each.

You can swap microSD cards as you wish provided that the device is powered off; don't remove the microSD card when running a virtual ROM. If the new microSD card doesn't include a 2nd parition of available virtual ROMs, the device will boot directly to the stock system.

I personally have two microSD cards:
SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB (Up to 80MB/s read speed)
Samsung 64GB PRO (Up to 90MB/s read speed)
You don't have to change your microSD card for MultiSystem; any card you use on your device should work just fine. The need for more speed is relevant when the device supports that speed & if you're going to buy a new card anyway that you may use with a newer device later.

Yes. I'll add a feature for swapping microSD cards so that you can backup/restore virtual ROMs from/to the current extSD to/from internal storage as follows:
power off device
use MultiSystem APK to backup your virtual ROMs
insert the new properly formatted microSD,
power on device (it'll boot to stock system)
use MultiSystem APK to restore your virtual ROMs
use MultiSystem APK to activate one of your virtual ROMs

What about other data/cache partitions and internal storage?
Only system img's are in the extSD. All ROMs share all other partitions. This substantially improves the performance & you won't notice any difference between your stock & virtual ROMs. The reason for performance improvement is that EXT4 loop devices are very fast in reading but not in writing. Your system partition is read-only while data (for example) is read write & cache IMGs cause problems like Safestrap issues on ROM slots. Also, you don't have to worry about switching data/settings between ROMs (they're shared), but you just need to regularly backup your important data (which is healthy anyway).

Will mSDcard incur a significant performance penalty on some devices?
there's no diffrerence between virtual & stock ROMs in terms of performance & battery life. The reason is simple: loop devices associated with the READ-ONLY system IMG mounted from EXT4 partition using a high-quality microSD card IS very fast more than enough.
The read speed is faster than the device can operate anyway + the exact same device should perform on the lowest speed when reading/writing from/to the FAT/FAT32/ExFAT extSD card (where you store your files or even move apps!!!) anyway, which is much slower than the read speed of a loop device mounted from EXT4 partition.
That's why data partition is shared for many reasons, including the poor READ/WRITE performance.

The stock system partition is mounted by default read only & so are the virtual systems. To modify a stock/virtual system, the MultiSystem APK remounts them read/write. You can modify the currently running virtual system, copy it & modify the copy, modify another stock/virtual system.

How is a corrupted virtual rom handled? Does it see it's bad and default to stock system?
At early boot, MultiSystem checks for the microSD & active virtual ROM to boot it. There's a boot menu that gives you options to select a stock/virtual system, but it crashes on LP. I'm debugging it, but all functions won't be affected if I removed it. To fail safe, you can remove the microSD card to boot to stock system & restore/repair your virtual ROMs.
UPDATE1: MultiSystem v1.0.1 now allows you to also switch to stock system on boot to repair corrupted virtual IMGs or any other reasons. More options will be added during boot to ultimately select another virtual system if the active IMG is not booting normally (e.g., bootloop after applying a mod or flashing a bad .ZIP).
UPDATE2: Now, on boot, you can choose from two primary/secondary virtual ROM or stock ROM. Flashing multiple ROMs at the same time without a reboot is now possible.

How to check if an IMG is corrupted using MultiSystem status?

When you see "/dev/block/mmcblk0p23"; it's the original system partition; so MultiSystem failed to boot Test_Rom.img, but it should be your current system.
So, the check is simple based on "Current System Device":
/dev/block/mmcblk0p23 = Stock System Partition
/dev/block/loop0 = Virtual System IMG
Note: The block device number (mmcblk0p23) may vary per device & per variant !

Does android do any maintenance whatsoever on stored data within /data or external sd? So if I have an app installed on 1 system and not on another system will android see it and clear the data?
No, all storage partitions are shared between ROMs. If you installed an app, it'll be availabe for all of them. Since on locked devcies we're limited to stock manufacturer-based ROMs, this makes the switch between ROMs very convinient (you don't have to worry about your changes/data/setup & storage space on the another ROM; all ROMs share everything except system). However, you should make regular backups in case a virtual ROM (probably with unsafe mods) results in bootloop due to your user data. In this case, it's safe to wipe data & selectively restore apps/data from backup(s). Another advantage of sharing all storage partitions is that your messages/emails/etc received on a virtual ROM are immediated synced (actually shared) to the other ROMs.

Can we install AOSP ROMs on locked devices?
You can only install stock/manufacturer-based ROMs on locked devices while unlocked devices can use kexec or flash the required kernel to boot any AOSP/Stock ROMs. I've got a Note 4 Developer Edition & a lot of development is planned to go there (thanks to the unlocked bootloader!) More devices will get supported including unlocked TMO & international variants after adding more features untilizing the unlocked bootloader with kexec'd kernels.

Are there limitations to the combinations of ROMs that can be loaded on the "stock" and "virtual" slots? Can you mix KK and LP?
Yes, if they can run on the same kernel. LP won't run on KK kernels & so, you'd have to upgrade the firmware anyway. As for running mixed compatible Android versions, this is possible but your'd have to backup your data before switching ROMs; if it cause no issues, enjoy smooth switch & if it doesn't, do factory reset in recovery & restore your data backup. Backups via MultiSystem are painless.

How there are no performance hits while internal storage memory was much faster than any microSD technology?
Read speeds from microSD is very fast compared to write speeds & since virtual ROMs are actually a virtual read-only systems (hence, MultiSystem), they provide a high performance. Moreover, again, read speeds from EXT4 loop devices are higher compared to physical partitions. They're very bad in writing, which we don't need for the read-only "system".

Is it based off of Safestrap?
Short answer NO. I've been working on MultiSystem & Safestrap for ~7 months. Earlier versions of MultiSystem (called, JasmineREC) was based on Safestrap, but it failed to support newer versions of Android mainly due to TWRP changes in the graphics/UI libraries that cause segmentation fault & the stock kernel framebuffer issues. Then, I decided to find another solution. However, the basic idea of system hijack is powered by Safestrap (or 2nd-init recoveries in general) & all the work done by @Hashcode is GREATLY appreciated.

How can it overwrite system files while running?
MultiSystem allows you to install safe mod's or a ROM in full or OTA-like update. It's strongly recommended to install .ZIP files NOT to the current system, b/c some files can not be overwritten while running. So, you can use backup function to copy the current system & install to the new img or any of your other virtual systems. You'll have several options to activate a virtual img & reboot directly to stock system, any virtual img you've activated, quick reboot, Download/bootloader, recovery,... etc.

If you run a ROM on stock system, you're vulnerable to root loss unless/untill a new rooting method for LP comes out. MultiSystem gives you the option to run safe-to-mod virtual ROMs + recovery replacement + extra features.

Is there a way to convert a normal ROM .ZIP into MultiSystem .IMG?
Create or copy any of your IMGs, activate it & reboot to the active IMG! Then, use FlashFire to flash the ZIP file. However, the updater-script should be safe/compatible. Some devs mount the phyical partition, which will redirect everything to it!!
For example:

will mount the original system partition; while

Would a KitKat ROM work with multisystem even though my stock is Lollipop?
Any ROM requires a compatible kernel & modem. So, running KK ROMs requires flashing KK firmware (namely, kernel & modem). This may work with MultiSystem on other devices, especially if the bootlpoader is unlocked. For example, I plan to add features for Note 4 DevED to allow different Android versions (including AOSP, manufacturer-based, & probably Linux systems) by utilizing kernel swapping or execution.

How to check if you are running a Stock/Virtual System?
There're many ways to check whether you're running a Stock or Virtual system. MultiSystem app should include this simple check at some point. That's important to avoint ruining the Stock system & keep it safe. To make it clear to NOOBZ & anyone who's requesting "another" proof even though I owe hime nothing. Very weird!
Anyway, BusyBox mountpoint applet can print the current block/device mounted to /system mountpoint by running the following command:

You can use any tool/program for partitioning on Android, Linux, Mac, or Windows. For example, MiniTool Partition Wizard is a good partitioning tool for Windows. So, let's use it for this task. Simply, you need to follow this PDF tutorial (thanks to @carl1961). In sum:
Step 1: delete old partitions on SD card
Step 2: create FAT32 PRIMARY partition
Step 3: create EXT4 PRIMARY partition
Then, apply changes (note that the program UI may get changed in newer versions).
Notes:
This partitioning tutorial doesn't create PRIMARY partitions (it creates logical partitions). So, you need to change "Create As" from "Logical" to "Primary" when creatig a partition.
The sizes of the two partitions are arbitrary depending on number of ROMs you plan to install on the 2nd EXT4 partition.
The 1st partition (check size) is automatically detected as your external storage
In Terminal Emulator or ADB shell, check the existence of the two partitions by running the following command (in red):

How to check microSD card partitions for MultiSystem?
You need to correctly repartition microSD card into two partitions:
exFAT or FAT32 for the 1st partition (your new external storage)
EXT4 for the 2nd partition (your MultiSystem partition)
Use the directions in this post!
You should check your 2nd SD partition in EXT4 format mounted to /MultiSystem:
check that the /MultiSystem directory exists after a reboot
check that the 2nd SD partition (/dev/block/mmcblk1p2) is mounted to /MultiSystem by running the following command in Terminal Emulator or ADB shell:

How to check MultiSystem Installation?
The 1st thing to do after installing MultiSystem is to check the /MultiSystem directory & its contents (it shouldn't be empty!). Then, check usage by running the following commands in Terminal Emulator or ADB shell:

If it retuns "MultiSystem not found" or permission denied, try to use open MultiSystem app to Update Configurations & try again. If this does't fix it, try the following command:

This should work if you've MultiSystem binaries installed in (extracted to) /MultiSystem directory. If so, you can create a symlink in /system/xbin as follows:

Then, test it by running:

The last thing before using it is to check the boot options: reboot & monitor the GREEN LED indicator for 3 seconds (change in the app) , which give you the following options:
Volume UP = Primary virtual ROM
Volume DOWN = Secondary virtual ROM
HOME KEY = Stock System
Pressing nothing will boot the active system: stock or primary virtual system. Sure, you should have installed one or more virtual ROMs.
Backup & restore or creating/installing a virtual ROM are easy as copy & paste: all img's will be at

To backup a virtual/stock system, you have many options:
Use create function to create from stock system
Use copy function to copy the IMG
Copy & paste with a new name
Use FlashFire (fully supported on virtual/stock ROMs)

If you've IMG mounting issues, run the following commands:

If this doesn't help, try mounting from Terminal Emulator or ADB shell after selecting the IMG in MultiSystem app, by running the following command:

Would a KitKat ROM work with multisystem even though my stock is Lollipop?
Any ROM requires a compatible kernel & modem. So, running KK ROMs requires flashing KK firmware (namely, kernel & modem). This may work with MultiSystem on other devices, especially if the bootlpoader is unlocked. For example, I plan to add features for Note 4 DevED to allow different Android versions (including AOSP, manufacturer-based, & probably Linux systems) by utilizing kernel swapping or execution.

First off, this sounds like a really nifty and useful program/app/modification? Sorry, I don't know what to really call it.
As per the above quoted, I am a little confused. The part about (same kernel)? I may be missing something but in regards to being able to run Lollipop ROM along with KitKat ROM either of which located as primary or virtual (SDcard) , how is this actually possible? As far as I know, while we can use say COD6 - bootloader & modem, I am not aware of an actual "Kernel" that could support both? Hope I am voicing this correctly... :silly:

- What actual recovery is being used? Can I assume TWRP, and if so, is it a "Special - modified version" OR can we use any of the later TWRPs at our choice?

I see it's reference, youtube videos, and whatnot coming up in various threads but little known as far as it's usability on a (910T) Note 4 - mainly what kernel has to be used that supports kexec on STOCK?

Hey there man, wish I could provide you some useful info wrt this project, but unfortunately I've been unable to find anything directly relevant myself. However, this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/dual-boot-n910f-snap-dragon-variant-t3065211 (shout out and thanks to @aukhan!), which you've likely seen as well, has captured my interest. There are direct references to our device in that thread, but I haven't really been able to make any attempts towards making use of it due to "life stuff" conflicting with my phone tinkering / XDA activity . I haven't been able to follow it as much as I'd like (or hit you up with any actual "useful" info ) but at this point (from what I've read) it seems more... practical wrt our N910Ts.
BTW, I've read and been really appreciative of your contributions to the Emotion kernel thread :good: Definitely keep me posted if you make any progress towards the "multi/dual boot dream"... I'll do the same

Like one of those teaser posts I guess. I've tried to "Google" around and found some YouTube videos along with active threads on different sections of XDA but anything coming down to usability on our N910Ts and for that matter, other devices, seem to indicated the need for a kexec Kernel in "Stock" Rom. I have yet to find/confirm ANY 910T kernel providing kexec support oddly enough but then again, maybe my google skills are lacking. :cyclops:
Primary system IMG
I can't seem to get MultiSystem to create my primary system IMG. I let it sit while the red LED is on and for quite some time afterwards but it only creates an empty file. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Just happened to stumble across this, I used multirom on my older lg optimus g pro.... It worked goud until I had a few custom roms , then it just went all to hell... I think I may give this a try.
No Virtual IMG Mode works...

So I've chosen the image and tried booting it by VOL UP and over UI reboot into virtual/ active partition... both failed
/block/loop0 doesn't work, remains mmcblk0p23 though it changed to IMG Stock

How does the log show the empty file? Exit 0 or something like that? Or do you see a 0 MB sized file created?
Have you checked the MultiSystem installation?

If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to a new permissions-system introduced in Marshmallow.

A version of Safestrap (3.75) which supports SELinux can be found here: https://github.com/stargo/android_packages_apps_Safestrap/releases/tag/v3.75
A newer version of safestrap which will format userdata as ext4 will be released shortly. You can also just reformat userdata to ext4 in the old Safestrap for now.

The real trick was getting this and gapps onto the stock slot. Pico gapps are too big, and it took a lot of removing aosp apps in the aroma Installer to make it all fit. But, having done that, it actually runs really well. I honestly don't think I've ever seen my phone run this well since 5.0 came out. I'd definitely call it an improvement.

so realistically, there's no way to smoothly install this unless there is a version of Gapps that has only the necessities and doesn't produce conflicts with the stock rom slot size?
or can it be installed on another slot and run ok with no issue as well as install a prepackaged Gapps build, and not a cut-down version of pico?

You can definitely install it in another slot, and without having to mess heavily with gapps. My goal was just to get it to work in the stock slot, which is something I managed to do. I was worried that wasn't even an option.

I installed it to slot 1 with pico gapps, and a 700mb system partition. I have about 40MB free in /system. At this point, I think that we should ditch installing CM14.1 to the stock slot, because you can format the /data partition of a slot to EXT4. EXT4 provides faster R/W over EXT3, and can help to reduce lags when writing apps or files to /data.

those are my main concern. i work in a building with no reception anyways- so I'd rather have bluetooth music playback working rather than being able to call people at this point.

Consistently runs for about 90s to 2 minutes, then hangs and reboots completely.
It doesn't matter what I do, it will always reboot suddenly after running around that long, even if I just sit on the home screen.
Edit: Timed it starting from when the lock screen appears, just sitting on the home screen. Ran for exactly 1m20s, then the screen goes black and it starts booting again.
Traced the problem to Linux Deploy loading on boot, it crashes whenever I try to use chroot.

Speaking as someone who worked to get this thing running on the stock slot with gapps, I'd say keeping it running on the real partitions is always going to be the better option. The overhead of a virtual slot is always going to slow this old phone down, and if the whole point is to keep this phone alive as more than just a toy, it's going to need every bit of help it can get.
microG GmsCore instead of the Gapps
Glad to see the cm14 on this old glory.
About the problem of installing the gapps in the little /system partition, I can advice everyone to use the great microG GmsCore project instead of the gapps.
I started using microG time ago in the Safe Slot of my modded SafeStrap for the Droid 4 and now I'm using it also on my Photon Q and G2.
microG is totally better than Gapps:
- it is really small and can be simply installed in the little partitions of the xt894
- it is very light weight compared to Gapps and for the xt894 this is good for performance in daily use and battery life
- it is the better solution for the privacy
Sorry for the OT but I really think that this is the best solution for this phone.

For EXT3, use the stock slot, but for EXT4 use a virtual slot. EXT4 proves 2.5 times the write speed of EXT3. As for overhead, there is practically none. One of our devs, joojoobee666, reminded us that the overhead was patched a few years back, and that the memory pressure is negligible.

We used to only be able to use EXT4 with CM14.1. Stargo patched the CM14.1 bug with /data as EXT3.
No, you can not change the filesystem of the stock slot with a locked bootloader device.

you actually can format stock /data as ext4. What can not be changed is /system, this has to be ext3.
I was surprised by that, too.
And newer cm13 nightlies are also able to use ext4 on /data.

Can confirm, you just need to do mke2fs -T ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk1p24 with data unmounted in TWRP.

Sorry for the question but are you talking about the overhead caused by running a rom in loop devices? If yes, can you point me in how and when this problem has been patched?
I searched here on xda but I haven't found nothing.
This isn't a polemic but I'm only curious because seems to me impossible patch a thing as this.

But in this way we will break SafeStrap and the idea that is behind it, the safe and sure stock slot will no longer exist; Is really this the best solution?

In cm14.1 we cant install gapps in stock slot and it's a problem

Warning: only use it on the G800F/M/Y, NOT on the G800H! I only tested the G800F, but think G800M/Y will also work. G800H will most likely NOT work, as it is based on a different SoC (Qualcomm).
Download the recovery image from twrp.me. It also includes some installation instructions.
There are more extensive installation instructions over at the LineageOS ROM installation instructions.
I personally prefer using Heimdall, but you can also use Odin. Commands in Download/Odin mode (power off, then press home+Volume-Down+power):

If you're using the stock ROM, use:

When you come from the stock ROM you have to make sure the stock ROM doesn't overwrite TWRP: Pull the battery, wait 5 seconds, insert it again, and press home + volume up + power to enter TWRP and replace the stock ROM from there.
If you already have TWRP or LineageOS, it's much easier to install from there, see twrp.me.
Another method is using ADB (from your computer). I used it a lot during testing:

This recovery is built using a LineageOS tree. Instructions are similar to the instructions for building LineageOS for the S5 mini. Differences are: you don't need to patch the source (skip that step) and the last step is mka recoveryimage instead of mka bacon - this only builds the recovery resulting in much faster builds. - Recovery is not SEANDROID enforcing" message when booting TWRP, didn't cause any trouble for me but still - it was fine in your previous unofficial build
- Some zip files (tested with latest modem flashable zip) report "This package is for kminiltexx devices; this is a kminilte", so it doesn't flash and fails with ERROR:7
I can confirm that decrypting a File-Based encrypted /data partition works, I didn't test the backup tool though.
P.S. Is it possible to add support for adopted storage, that would be awesome!

The current kernel used upstream is somewhat older and hasn't enabled SELinux yet. I don't see why you would want enforcing SELinux in TWRP, though.

I also get the device error with latest official and 2017-06-25-recovery-fix-ota-asserts.img.

I'm having a few issues with TWRP 3.1.1 where "wipe / format data" (where you have to key "yes") generates the following error msg (I posted a similar msg in Slim Rom 7 thread):

I'm now wondering whether decrypting the data partition from within TWRP will address my format data issue reported above.
Can I ask how you did this? I've dug around the TWRP menus but nothing has jumped out at me (maybe it's something you need to run from the terminal?)

I still haven't found a method to decrypt the /data volume from within TWRP (a reference earlier in the thread implied it was possible)..the hope being this would mitigate the "wipe / format data" error:

What I did discover was that when reverting to an older version of TWRP (2.8.x) using Odin, " format data" (where you have to type "yes" to proceed) didn't error. I'm not sure whether that cured the issue, but after that I updated TWRP image back to 3.1.1.0 and installed my ROM as normal.
Still looking for a recognised method to wipe encrypted /data volume from within latest stable TWRP if anyone has any experience of that.

I got it to work by formatting/repairing/changing filesystem in TWRP. Just try some combinations, it will work eventually
Yes, I think it's because of the 'auto' in the fstab. I've set it to ext4 in this build (for data and cache):

If it fixes the issue for you, I'll push the change for inclusion in the next official build.
I didn't see any negative consequences of changing the FS type in fstab. Even setting the fstab entry to 'f2fs' mounts /data as usual (as ext4) so I think it's safe.

The Swiss Army Knife TWRP Mod for the Axon 7​
INTRODUCTION
This was a long term project that I have been using for a long time. I created some scripts to make it easier and faster to flash new roms and quickly restore the daily driver configuration after a testing session. For easier access I modified the TWRP interface to add direct access to the scripts. They had many problems but they were good to me since I created them and I knew how to used them well, but they were not ready for other users.
But the time has come and I have cleaned up most of the annoyances in the tools and in the UI. I have named it "Labs Mod" since it allows me to have my flashing lab on the go, making it extremely easy to switch to different configurations, or recover the daily driver configuration in a few minutes. I believe it is free of major bugs and now I can concentrate on adding new scripts, and more options to the current scripts.
FEATURES
On top of the latest improvements introduced in the official TWRP 3.2.3-0, this mod offers the following added features:
Full vendor partition support (mount, format, wipe, partition image flash, TWRP backup and restore).
Integrated Bootstack backup and restore.
Modem firmware image flash
Reboot to EDL
Button to enable device mapper verity (DM-Verity) enforcing
Button to disable the eMMC write protection (disemmcwp)
Backup/Restore internal storage to the TWRP Backup folder in the external SD. Ensure you have enough free space, free space check is not yet implemented.
EDL backup zip creation. Dual zip use since the resulting zip can be installed using TWRP from the phone or using MiFlash from the computer. It offers the following package creation options:
OS: Operating system (boot, vendor and system).
GPT: Partition table only.
CONFIG: Device config data (IMEI, SN, MAC, etc).
BOOTSTACK: Boot firmware without modem.
MINIMAL: Includes GPT+bootstack+modem+recovery.
EMERGENCY: Minimal + device config.
FULL: Minimal + OS.
FACTORY: Includes Full + config.​
Integrated Treble PARTY tool for creating and removing the vendor partition. Vendor partition is required for Treble ROMs. Removal is required for flashing old non-treble roms.
Lockscreen security removal. Removes password, pattern, fingerprint, etc... (in case you forget your password or the security descriptor gets corrupted).
Google account binding removal (in case you want to wipe from within recovery and test with different google accounts).
Bootloader unlock message removal.
New! Expand OS partitions (Vendor and System) to fit the whole partition. Useful for expanding the GSI filesystem for having space for adding GApps or moving apps to system.
New! Deep Wipe function performs a low level wipe of the partition data, erasing the remaining the portions of the eMMC that stored the partition information.
REQUIREMENTS
You need an unlocked Axon 7
INSTALLATION
WARNING, THIS SOFTWARE COULD WIPE ALL THE DATA IN YOUR DEVICE, INCLUDING THE INTERNAL STORAGE.
IT REQUIRES TWRP CUSTOM RECOVERY IN AN UNLOCKED DEVICE, OTHERWISE YOUR DEVICE COULD BE BRICKED.
!!! Whatever you do, it is at your own risk !!!​
Follow these steps:
1. Download the TWRP Labs Mod image to your External SD card.
2. Boot to TWRP and select the Install option in the main manu.
3. Tap on the install image button and select your external SD. select the image file you downloaded, select the recovery partition and confirm.
4. Reboot to recovery again to ensure the changes are applied properly.
DOWNLOAD
TWRP_3.2.3-0L_v1.3-Axon7-Labs_Mod.img Flavor of the mod using the official TWRP 3.2.3-0 Kernel binary (Quick boot even when using F2FS, full ADB support, NO B12 Oreo encryption). Use this if you do not plan on using device encryption. Please note that you won't be able to use any tool of this version if your device is encrypted.
TWRP_3.2.3-0L_v1.3.B12-Axon7-Labs_Mod.img Device encryption enabled flavor of the Labs mod. It use the 3.2.1-8 TWRP Kernel binary (Long boot when using F2FS, NO ADB support, B12 Oreo encryption). Use this one if you use device encryption. Please note that this flavor doesn't support adb interface.
NOTES
1. I do not have the time and expertise to dig into kernel hack so this is why I do not provide a unified kernel with fast F2FS boot, ADB and B12 encryption. Probably people developing kernels could help on this issue. It would be nice having a kernel with proper F2FS boot support, B12 encryption and ADB interface. Until then, there is no other way than having 2 flavors depending on the features we require.

Well, all of them are Bourne shell scripts. Some of them are stupidly simple such as those in the Reboot menu, and others in the Advanced > Oki Labs menu are very elaborated, specially:
- PARTY tool: for creating and removing the vendor partition. I released it a few days ago as a separated tool that could well work in other devices.
- EDL backup: for creating EDL flashable backups of a configuration. This tool will probably require a full thread due to the concepts involved. The big feature is that the generated zip can be also flashed using any TWRP.
- Internal Storage Backup/Restore: TWRP doesn't offer a straightforward solution for backing up the internal storage, since it is excluded from the data backup, now it is possible to create a backup and restore the contents of the internal SD in case you want to mess up with the userdata partition. Now this script creates a set of files under the TWRP/backup folder. I am planning to add the possibility of having different backup folders, the same way the GUI treats the data partition.

Well, that's why in the OP I provide 2 flavors of the mod. If you require decrypt then you have to use the B12. PARTY will not work either if your device is encrypted and you are using the 3.2.3-0L. In your case, using device encryption, you have to use the 3.2.3-0L(B12). You will have all the functions except for ADB. PARTY will work fine too.

Went into the Storage Backup and my phone froze. Rebooting from ADB worked.
EDIT: tried to reproduce the issue - same thing happened 2nd time.

I can't duplicate the issue. Are you sure you downloaded it properly? Do you have an SD card? The backup requires an SD card with enough space. Checking for free space is in the todo list for this weekend.

It is downloaded properly. SD card has more than 100gb free space.

What option are you testing? the Storage Backup? What format are you using in your SDCard? Does it happen at the beginning or after a while? Is there any file under TWRP/BACKUPS/STORAGE in your Micro SD after the failure?

crDroid is built on top of LineageOS, and is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device, while also attempting to bring you many of the best features in existence today.
Features
A quick glossary and primer on flashing & slots for A/B devices (like ours):
Spoiler: Show/Hide
- "Clean flash": Removing device protection & clearing user settings before installing a bootable system install zip (usually by either wiping or formatting data, see below).
- "Dirty flash": Flashing a ROM zip (usually upgrading to new version, sometimes just re-flashing the existing one) without wiping data or anything first.
- "Wipe data": Synonymous with "factory reset", accomplished from TWRP recovery by selecting "Wipe", then performing the "Slide to factory reset". Clears user data without erasing any partitions, removing encryption, or deleting contents of internal storage.
- "Format data": Formats the data partition itself, resets all file-based encryption keys, loses all contents of internal storage, and in fact deletes all "user 0" directories (this has some implications for internal storage before & after first boot).
- "User 0" directories are a series of directories that store userdata for the primary user, "Owner", and get created in various places throughout the filesystem on first system boot if they don't exist already. Anything you copy to "internal storage" while booted in recovery after "formatting data" will actually be copied to /data/media/ instead of /data/media/0/, and will become invisible to regular file browsing after first boot once the system has created /data/media/0, since the system will prefer to use that path for internal storage from then on (so you'll need a root file browser to delete things from /data/media, or just ADB sideload things instead of copying after formatting but before booting).
- "OTA package": Originally an abbreviation for "over the air", referring to how a software update could be delivered (as opposed to having to take your phone to a carrier's store for a firmware update via serial/USB connection). The common usage in Android circles is any installation zip file that actually includes a bootable system.
- Some partitions are duplicated (system, vendor, boot, and probably a couple others, but not data) and have a "slot A" & "slot B" copy.
- "Slot A" and "slot B" are absolute designations, but most installer zip scripts use the relative designations: "active" and "inactive". Whichever slot you're booted from currently is "active", and the other one is "inactive".
- Installing a zip file that's flagged as being an OTA package will 1) install the contents to the "inactive" slot, and then 2) flag the bootloader to switch which slot is considered "active" (and booted from) and "inactive" upon next reboot.
- The OxygenOS full OTA zip files and all custom ROM installer zip files are considered "OTA packages" and will trigger a slot switch on next boot after installation.
- You can install multiple OTA zip packages one after the other without rebooting in both the stock recovery and TWRP; they will all get installed into the correct partitions in the "inactive" slot, one on top of the other, and then it will swap active & inactive upon reboot.
- We don't use what are called "delta" updates, which can patch existing partitions by block or by file; we use full filesystem images. So for us, OTA zip packages are really just a bunch of partition filesystem image files all wrapped up into a "payload.bin" with some extra instructions & metadata/checksums, so when you flash a ROM, it overwrites entire partitions at a time instead of individual files or filesystem blocks within that partition. So if you've changed something in a partition like system that gets written as part of flashing an OTA zip, all your changes are gone. The only thing in the system partition afterward will be what was in the system.img that was included in the ROM zip payload.
- The partitions that crDroid, LineageOS, and most custom ROMs for OnePlus 6 & 6T install to when flashing are boot (contains recovery & kernel), dtbo, system, and vbmeta. Some ROMs (like Syberia) build the vendor partition from source instead of just trying to work with the existing OEM vendor partition, so they flash that one too when installing. So you definitely need to flash stock vendor before switching from Syberia or another source-built vendor ROM to one like Lineage or crDroid that uses prebuilt.
- "Prebuilt vendor" vs. "source-built" vendor partitions: when first trying to get a custom ROM working on a new device now that we have separate system & vendor partitions & Google's "Project Treble" is a thing, you'll often just leave the contents of the vendor partition alone, because that's where all the proprietary or device-specific stuff lives (manufacturer specific hardware drivers & interfaces, any DRM libraries, custom frameworks & selinux policies for talking to them), and you make a compatibility map of what framework versions you're compiling against in system and what vendor version they're compatible with or supersede or you overlay updated things that should replace stuff in the vendor partition and keep it in system_ext instead. But you're also limited in that if there are some things in vendor, you CAN'T work around it from the ROM side (like, OnePlus Camera working correctly). So often, once the basics are functioning, the goal is to move to building the contents of the vendor partition from source, because you then have the freedom to fix problems with sepolicy, library/framework mismatches, etc. and make things work with the custom ROM instead of only working with the OEM's flavor of Android, and you can still copy individual pre-compiled files from the stock vendor filesystem image if needed (like if there's no open-source equivalent for some driver). Unfortunately, OnePlus SDM845 (enchilada & fajita, the OP6 & OP6T) never got a proper source-built vendor bringup by the LineageOS team (upon which crDroid is based). And while Syberia has had source built vendor in Android 11 (possibly 10?), it was only done for enchilada and NOT fajita, it's not trivial to unroll & commonize what they've done to apply to other ROMs, and some of the proprietary files they keep are imported from other similar devices/similar chipsets rather than source-built (presumably because the OnePlus ones are modified in a weird way that the open-source components can't hook into, but still not ideal). So for fixing a lot of the issues we still face with lack of things working quite right, or hardware features not available in custom ROMs (especially compared to newer OnePlus devices like the 7, 8, or 9 series), we're kinda stuck, because you can't just implement it against the stock prebuilt vendor.
- "Updating firmware" simply means we're flashing updated contents from the manufacturer into all the OTHER partitions besides the ones that the ROM OTA zip touches. There are another dozen or more of those, besides system & boot, that the full OxygenOS OTA zip would normally write to when you install it. The contents of the system partition in custom ROMs for our device are generally built against a particular version of OxygenOS (mostly the contents of the OEM vendor partition), and we've recently had an entire major Android version update come through from OxygenOS. Some people are still on older firmware that is now dramatically different than what the current custom ROM was intended to deal with (that is, all the stuff from OxygenOS is still based on Android 10, while the ROM is expecting compatibility with Android 11), and while I tend to agree that OxygenOS 10 was better than the current state of OOS 11, that doesn't matter when you're talking about installing the custom ROM over it. So please, keep an eye out in the release notes for what the recommended/required firmware versions are, and remember to update (procedure below).
Notes on custom recoveries with OxygenOS 11 firmware:

- My understanding (from people smarter than me) is that the android-11 tree of TWRP is kind of a mess at the moment. I had made some 3.6.0_11-0 unofficial builds for both enchilada & fajita, but now they don't even seem to boot and I don't know why. TWRP android-11 tree refuses to mount the system partition where it belongs, and so addon.d OTA survival scripts don't work correctly any longer (which means you're hosed if you use NikGapps and update while booted from a TWRP version ending in "11-0", or if you have Gapps installed as a module and forget to reboot recovery & re-flash Magisk after flashing an update from TWRP).
- Trying to `fastboot boot` an Android 9-based TWRP image (like official 3.5.2_9-0 twrp.img) after installing OxygenOS 11 doesn't work, and will drop you into Qualcomm Crash Dump mode. Don't try to flash it as your boot partion, either.
- Meanwhile, stock LineageOS-based recovery, for all its shortcomings, has working fastbootd (aka "Userspace fastboot", which is what happens when you go to "Advanced", then choose "Enter fastboot" and the background colors go from purple to orange) that lets you flash both slots at once and unlocks critical partitions, while the OnePlus OEM bootloader (where it says "Fastboot Mode" in a square, then goes to the big green "START" text over white & dark red terminal font type text) can't be used to flash every partition to update firmware. Personally, I still think of it as wannabe-class and not a "real" custom recovery until the Lineage team 1) implements userdata decryption so you can manage files in /data and install updates from internal storage, and 2) allows for a factory reset the way we've always all understood it ("wipe data") WITHOUT nuking the contents of internal storage for no good reason ("formatting data"). But since crDroid is LineageOS-based, it's what we've got, and fastbootd is the best way to update firmware.
- With all that being said, since it's likely TWRP will only get MORE broken with Android 12 looming large, we're officially only going to support the built-in LineageOS-based recovery & OTA updater moving forward, until things change dramatically. If you want to try different custom recoveries (new builds of TWRP, OrangeFox, PBRP, whatever), feel free; and let us know how it works! But you're on you're own doing that.
- And on the system update side, applying system OTA updates seems to work correctly using the built-in Updater tool (Settings > System > Updater) both with new OTA releases and when choosing a file from "Local Installation". It executes OTA survival scripts correctly from /system/addon.d/ as well. I've personally tested and it correctly preserved Magisk v23 canary and MindTheGapps & NikGapps (on tester fajita) and MinMicroG "system" install package on my daily driver enchilada.
- ...however it has an accidental dependency on Magisk, due to things beyond my control upstream in the ROM. Whoops. Won't work if you don't have Magisk installed.
- FLASHING the old official TWRP 3.5.2_9-0 INSTALLER zip (or newer) on top of OOS 11.x DOES seem to work for now, but you need to be in a recovery environment that allows you to flash that installer in the first place (either by booting into an already-installed TWRP recovery before updating firmware, or by having an Android 11 compatible recovery boot.img to be able to `fastboot boot`). I don't know if it'll keep working in Android 12 or with crDroid 8.
- Look, if you really want to stick with TWRP, I don't blame you. I made bootable Android 11 compatible TWRP images for enchilada & fajita back at 3.5.2, and they still work well enough to `fastboot boot` them and then flash the old official 3.5.2_9-0 installer zips. Look at the attachments at the end of post #2. Also, you may want to try one of Siddhesh's custom recoveries; they probably work even better.
- TL;DR: I prefer TWRP too but current official releases are kinda broken and it's a chore to get the old version installed correctly, so built-in LineageOS-based recovery and Updater app are the supported way to install & update moving forward.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure your bootloader is unlocked (and don't plan on relocking it ffs).
- Make sure you have a reasonably-current, working installation of android platform tools (adb & fastboot command line binaries & necessary drivers) on your computer, with a known-good USB cable (see links in post #2).
- Make sure you've downloaded the most recent full OxygenOS OTA installer zip (11.1.2.2), crDroid zip, matching crDroid boot.img, and whatever Magisk/GApps/microG installation packages you want to use to your computer (see links in post #2).
- Make sure you've backed up whatever data you want to keep to somewhere that's not on your phone; for a new install, we're going to format the data partition and you're going to lose everything from internal storage.
Let's get started!
Updating firmware:
- Reboot to bootloader (no USB cable connected).
- If you're not already using the stock (LineageOS-based) recovery, you'll need to `fastboot flash boot path/to/boot.img`, substituting in the path & filename for the current crDroid boot.img that you downloaded as part of the prerequisites.
- Reboot to bootloader again (actually loads new bootloader that you just flashed).
- Use Vol +/- buttons to select "Recovery mode" and press Pwr button to boot stock recovery.
- Tap "Advanced", then tap "Enter fastboot" (the already-selected first option).
- Follow the instructions for extracting the partition images from the official OxygenOS Updater full OTA zip you already downloaded using the "payload-dumper-go" utility, and flashing them one at a time, from https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/enchilada/fw_update, except for the very last command ("fastboot reboot").
- Since those instructions were updated for Android 12, and this is still Android 11-based & depends on using the OxygenOS prebuilt vendor partition contents, you'll also need to run fastboot flash --slot=all vendor vendor.img at the end of the list of commands in the linked LineageOS Wiki article above.
- If you're only updating firmware and were already on crDroid, you can just "fastboot reboot" which will go back to system. If this is part of coming to crDroid from another ROM, continue with the instructions below.
First time installing crDroid to your OP6, coming from stock OxygenOS 11.x or another ROM (stock LOS-based recovery):
- Update to OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 firmware as described above if you haven't already.
- At the end of that procedure, (re)flash the crDroid boot.img to the `boot` partition of both slots, then reboot to recovery.
- Once you're rebooted into stock recovery, ADB sideload the crDroid installation zip. It might prompt you with "Install anyway?" on the phone, so don't just walk away from it.
- After the adb sideload has finished and the purple menu at the top comes back, hit the back arrow, then choose "Wipe data" (which WILL format internal storage -- you backed up as noted above, right?).
- Reboot to recovery (causes it to switch slots so any further installations will be on top of the slot that it just installed crDroid into).
- ADB sideload Magisk and/or any GApps packages you want to use. Please note that any time you install something via ADB sideloading, that the install file is technically renamed "sideload.zip" in transit by the ADB protocol, which might cause problems with installers that try to get too clever for their own good and alter behavior based on renaming the installation zip (like MinMicroG), so you might have to get even MORE clever with changing up installation order (like flash MinMicroG/GApps before Magisk so it won't install as a module. I dunno, talk to the package installer authors to get them to just build multiple packages or talk to the LineageOS devs to allow you to decrypt internal storage, copy stuff to internal storage via MTP, and install stuff from internal storage like a proper custom recovery (or at least maybe `adb push` to an unencrypted temp dir in the data partition).
- Reboot system.
- ???

OTA updating from Updater app with OOS 11.x firmware (recommended):
- This is the preferred way now. You just go to Settings > System > Updater, and... install an update. It processes addon.d OTA survival scripts correctly (tested with Magisk, MinMicroG, MindTheGapps, and NikGapps).
- Please note that there's currently an accidental depencency on Magisk being installed for this to work. I don't know if this will get fixed; that's definitely above my pay grade. This appears to have been fixed; huzzah!
- If you're trying to do a "Local Install" of the downloaded zip, please note you NEED to download on a computer & transfer to internal storage via USB cable; downloading files from an app on the phone associates it with a particular app thanks to Android 11+ Scoped Storage/SAF bull**** and will cause the file to be unreadable to the updater app process.

OTA updating from TWRP with OOS 11.x firmware:
You don't need to remove device protection; it works fine with PIN. Be sure you have a PIN set, or have looked up whatever that arcane chart of pattern > numeric incantations in case of pattern unlock. It's awful.
- Boot into TWRP recovery.
- Choose install, then select crDroid.zip, select additional zips, choose the TWRP installer zip, then slide to confirm flash.
- Reboot recovery.
- Choose install, then select Magisk zip (if using), select additional zips, choose GApps/microG (if using), slide to confirm flash.
- Please keep off of the grass, shine your shoes, wipe your... dalvik.
- Reboot system.
OTA updating from TWRP with OOS 10.x firmware:
- Don't. Update firmware to 11.1.2.2 first.

I'm a parent of three young kids whose industry disappeared in the pandemic and is now full-time house husband & parent-in-charge while my wife is teaching full-time, I'm trying to save my small live-event-turned-streaming-studio company in my spare time. I'm doing in-home caregiving for a family member overnight one day a week. This is the back-up spare-spare-time hobby. I'm not a software developer nor do I know any programming languages, I just wanted a ROM with signature spoofing support and more customization than the unofficial microg-compatible LineageOS builds. So if there are bugs or feature requests, I go over to the crDroid dev chat and ask if someone has time to hold my hand & help. Don't make me get yelled for annoying them, mmkay? That said...
- Logs/screenshots/recordings or it didn't happen. Either the built-in Matlog app, or Syslog (free, open source, available on Play store and F-droid) are your friends here.
- I try to keep an organized notebook of roadmap, feature reqeusts, bug reports, etc. I won't always be able to fix it, but I'll at least look and do my best to ask the actual devs.
- I don't sign into XDA much, so if I haven't said anything, check out the Telegram group. Lots of helpful folks there.
- Please keep your questions in this thread instead of PMing me with them directly, so that the entire class can benefit from the discussion and you can find out if it's just you or if this is a widespread issue.
It's your device to use the way you want of course, and I use Magisk & microG and like to tweak things myself. But don't expect much support if you:
- didn't do a clean flash.
- aren't using the built-in kernel.
- are using extensive modifications (besides Magisk) like Xposed/Riru, Dolby Atmos, Viper4A, etc.
- immediately start using "finalize.zip" or flashing migrate restore zips instead of following the actual instructions.
- are running decrypted.
- re-locked your bootloader for some reason... you're on a custom ROM; don't do that.

Notes:
- crDroid 7.x (based on Android 11 & LineageOS 18.1) is no longer being actively developed, and I don't know how long someone on the dev team will keep merging monthly security updates. I'll try to keep building releases as long as there are updates, but all my limited time is focused on 9.x/Android 13 bringup now. We're in maintenance mode now, so any outstanding bugs are likely to just remain for perpetuity.
- Yes it supports package signature spoofing permission for microG compatibility out of the box (but will work without ANY GApps/microG implementation installed as well).
- Maintainer does not use GApps, so cannot answer questions about which packages work best from firsthand experience. In general, go with the smallest package you can and then install other Google apps from the Play Store. Please note that if you replace the stock dialer with Google Dialer, you may lose access to the Phone Info menu (*#*#4636#*#*) until you install another dialer. For recommendations, see https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.
- Requires OOS 11.1.2.2 firmware (last official release). You should consider using an Android 10 ROM if you want to continue using Android 10 firmware.
- Tested against latest Magisk 24 canary (with zygisk instead of magiskhide), works well.
- No there won't be official builds with inline GApps; please don't ask.
crDroid 7.30 - May 2023 ASB release notes/changelog:

- Whatever the ROM dev team changed upstream in LineageOS and crDroid sources (not much? they're busy with Android 13+).
- No changes to device-specific files.
Known issues:
- No f2fs-formatted userdata support, sadly. Doesn't work with the prebuilt vendor partition required for this version of Android. You'll need to reformat data to ext4 before being able to boot (you can fastboot flash the crDroid 8.x or 9.x boot.img if you need a recovery that will let you choose).
- Google Hotword recognition might be kinda broken right now (on more than one custom ROM/device, not just us), and may cause some screw-up that prevents microphone audio from being allowed to go anywhere else if it's enabled.
- If you are stuck at "Android is starting..." looping endlessly, then press power, reboot to bootloader, and follow the instructions for updating firmware to OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 in the first post. It doesn't wipe data, you shouldn't lose anything.
- Some screen-off gestures may not work, due to limitations beyond my control; don't use those gestures. Sorry.

After running the Rom for 5 days now I can confirm that it's very stable and has tons of customization. Unfortunately though android auto is not working. face unlocking, camera, etc works fine. Would appreciate it if you could fix the android auto issue in the future build.
Anyone else having issues with GPay? I'm using Magisk, hidden, and GPay still won't work.
Is it possible to update crDroid from 6.13 to 7.2 without data formatting (keeping application and data)?

Hey, I have the twrp-3.3.1-18-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio TWRP installed on my Oneplus 6, do I still need to upgrade it to the one which you are recommending? I'd rather go with the one that I currently have and not go through the hassle of updating the recovery. That being said, obviously you would know much better.

Twrp 3.3 should work fine with the rom. You can keep using it if you want to. However, there is no extra step to use 3.5 vs 3.3. You have to flash twrp after flashing the rom so you can upgrade to 3.5 by just flashing it instead of 3.3.
Quick questions, this rom have smart charging feature?
Firstly, I just want to say this is the most awesome ROM I've tried and i've sat here for a week trying every rom I could get find on the net. It's almost flawless... except for a few hugely killer problems that will sadly make this ROM unusable for me... even though I love it soooo much and if only these things worked... this would be the most amazing ROM ever.
1. After installing GPS doesn't work.
2. When I get a phonecall... I hear the ring... but nothing happens on the screen... so I can't pickup the call. I see after i got a missed call... but i can't answer calls when they're calling... even if I go to the homescreen from whatever app i was using when i got the call... click on the phone icon.... still nothing. Can't answer the call.
3. Text messages simply don't arrive. If I flash the rom back to stock Oxygen OS ... then the text message comes through. But it's a bit late when you're trying to get a verifiaction SMS sent to you to open an messanging app. Can't use the app because i can't get the verification SMS.
If these three things get fixed... omg this will literally be the best ROM ever.
There is a 4th issue... and for me it's important... but it's probably not any fault really of crDroid ROM to be fair...
Very surprisingly... and I just wanted to see if it would work.... kali nethunter for Oxygen OS which is for droid 10 installs over the top of this rom which is droid 11... to much surprise! ...and almost flawlessly... only issue is it doesn't recognise HID interface.
Man... with these 4 things working... this ROM together with nethunter would make for the most badass hacker pentester phone on the planet... save only for the exact same thing on a oneplus 7 or 8 pro.
Many thanks to the devs of this awesome ROM... who hopefully can get 1, 2, and 3 working in the not too distant future... pretty please?

I see after i got a missed call... but i can't answer calls when they're calling... even if I go to the homescreen from whatever app i was using when i got the call... click on the phone icon.... still nothing. Can't answer the call.
3. Text messages simply don't arrive. If I flash the rom back to stock Oxygen OS ... then the text message comes through. But it's a bit late when you're trying to get a verifiaction SMS sent to you to open an messanging app. Can't use the app because i can't get the verification SMS.
If these three things get fixed... omg this will literally be the best ROM ever.
There is a 4th issue... and for me it's important... but it's probably not any fault really of crDroid ROM to be fair...
Very surprisingly... and I just wanted to see if it would work.... kali nethunter for Oxygen OS which is for droid 10 installs over the top of this rom which is droid 11... to much surprise! ...and almost flawlessly... only issue is it doesn't recognise HID interface.
Man... with these 4 things working... this ROM together with nethunter would make for the most badass hacker pentester phone on the planet... save only for the exact same thing on a oneplus 7 or 8 pro.
Many thanks to the devs of this awesome ROM... who hopefully can get 1, 2, and 3 working in the not too distant future... pretty please?
4 is more of a hope and a prayer... but it would be soooo freaking awesome.

You have been positing this in more than one thread. This has nothing to do with any rom, and is related to what you are doing with your phone or the phone itself. Telephony is flowless on every Android 11 custom rom for Oneplus 6. And so is GPS, which literally connects in seconds.
First thing you should do is: disable wifi calling, because if your provider doesn't have the feature (or you are not provisioned for it), that could cause your problems. Next, uninstall any mode you might have. Try calling without Gapps.
Also, if you ever used Syberia Rom, you got custom /vendor, which would not work with other custom roms that use stock /vendor. So, you need to re-flash full stock rom onto both slots, which is a pre-requisite for flashing most custom roms. Then follow directions for installing a custom rom.
