After the last OTA update, my Moto G5 started to boot with the following warning:
"Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
To learn more visit:
motorolacom/unlockbootloader
ID: N/A
Your device will boot in 5 seconds"
It also started to restart randomly.
I did some research on the web and found out that this warning appears when someone unlocks/roots the device. But I ever never unlocked the bootloader or rooted the device.
I reinstalled the OS with the help of Rescue and Smart assistant. Now it stuck at moto boot logo. Please help me.
thank you

Hello neighbors
My moto x has the bootloader unlocked, and thats all, no rom.
About a year ago, i got rid of the 'warning bootloader unlocked' message and replaced with the 'powered by android' (at that time it was the latest boot logo).
Following update to 5.1, the 'warning bootloader unlocked' message re-appeared.
What will I need to do in order to rid the 'warning bootloader unlocked' message?
On a XT 1053.
Thank You

YOU HAVE TO FLASH AGAIN http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/collection-moto-boot-services-t2885395
Thank U!!! That fixed it
And incase anyone else has this same question...
It is because the OTA contains a copy of LOGO.BIN which gets flashed... and since its stock logo.bin, it contains the unlocked warning message.
And yes, the 4.4.x replacement logo.bin's (with warning removed) still work on 5.1.
Hello everyone,
I unlocked my Moto X 2014's (US Cellular) Bootloader, and I was running Android 5.1. When setting up the Phone I had connection errors, and I wanted to flash the phone back to 4.4.4 KitKat. I used the wrong image (for the pure edition) and ended up with the phone not booting. I tried to reinstall the 5.1 Image (VICTARA_USC_XT1093_5.1_LPE23.32-21.3_cid9_CFC) from here: teamuscellular.com/Forum/topic/7738-moto-x-2014-victara-xt1093-latest-firmware-and-flashing-instructions-updated-to-51/ , but while flashing I got the following errors: "version downgraded for primary_gpt" after flashartition command and "version downgraded for boot" after the flash:boot" command line on the phone. After everything is finished, and I reboot the phone, i see the unlocked bootloader warning, and afterwards only a, for a brief second flashing, "no command" message, like when entering recovery mode. I'm probably in a bootloop. :crying:
I would be very thankful for help!
Simon
Moto G XT1068 stuck in "Warning bootloader unlocked" screen! Need help! Please.
Hello community, how are you? Well, my Moto G XT1068 is stuck in the screen "Warning bootloader unlocked" and I do not know how to retrieve it. I tried already reinstall the original firmware but nothing! During the installation process no error is shown but the system does not restart any of foma. I tried to install TWRP for installing a custom ROM and also did not work.
I've read all the other posts on this problem are the forum and have not found a solution.
The problem seems to be this: apparently the installation via fastboot works, however, to reset the machine the problem persists.
Someone please kindly help me? Thankful already!
Here is the solution of Warning bootloader unlocked. Check this out

Brand new Moto G6 (XT1925-6) from Google, activated on Fi. Stock, locked, not rooted.
After applying the latest update the phone crashed and went into an infinite bootloop, crashing somewhere during the Moto boot animation. On boot it says:
"Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
To learn more visit:
motorola.com/unlockbootloader
id:
Your device will boot in 5 seconds"
Yes, the id field is blank. Also, there is "n/a" half-way between the "to learn more" and "motorola" url lines.
I can get into fastboot. getvar shows all valid hardware fields.
- Securestate = oem_locked
- Iswarrantyvoid = no
- build - OPS27.104-9 (it's actually OPS27.104-92, but the 2 got cutoff in my terminal)
If I try to factory reset, it will crash at some point during the moto boot animation and reboot. Sometimes the animation is pixelated and garbled, sometimes not.
Since the bootloader thinks it's unlocked, but it's actually locked, I'm guessing at best it's a corrupted BL and system. At worst, it's a hardware issue like faulty EMMC. I don't want to unlock and install TWRP because I want to be able to return/replace the unit if needed.
Any thoughts?

Going to have to do a warranty replacement for that one.
While rooting my phone with twrp and magisk, I left a pincode on my phone without realising it. While in twrp, in it's encrypted mode, I tapped on something I shouldn't have and now my moto x4 is stuck in a bootloop.
One of the fixes I tried entailed relocking the bootload so that's currently locked.
I tried a google drive link with instructions which I can't put here, but my phone screen just flickered and stopped working.
Any fixes known?
There's a thread here detailing the dangers of re-locking the bootloader
