Hey guys,
So last weekened I decided to give custom ROMS a try, and I started with Lineage OS, but the battery was really bad, I ended up changing to ASOPextended and finally to Pixel Experience. Now the thing is, on all of these the battery was behaving super weird, charging super slow and draining really fast, it seemed to be a bit better on Pixel Experience, and I left it charging all night with the phone turned off. When I woke up, the phone was completely drained and I can't charge it or turn it on.
I saw another post here saying that someone had the same problem as me, but that they could charge it in recovery mode, and that definitly seems to work.
Can anybody tell me what do to? What did I do wrong while installing these ROMS? How is everybody else using custom ROMS on their phones if the battery is so bad?
Thank you!
did you solve it? i'm getting the same issue i just flashed Pixel Experience and the phone just won't charge i'm going to try maybe wiping Dalvik/ART and cache throught TWRP

hi guys, i'm getting really pissed off right now
i''ve got my phone for 3 months now and it worked like charm till the last month
every time my phone shutdown randomly , and when i restart it, my battery level is under the 10%
even if i charge it the whole night till 100%, after i use it a few minutes it shutsdown and the battery will be very low.
sometimes it doesn't even turn on anymore.
i can't use my phone now only when its charging because it doesn't shutdown then.
I've tried everything that i could think of, i've recalibrated the battery , installed different roms but i got the problem with every rom.
i've even tried it with a ics rom but still got the same problem
someone please help me
my phone had the same problem i have flash any costum rom but nothing and then i have flashed a stock original rom for fix that....and then retry a costum rom.
have you try to wipe /system /sdcard /data /cache /delik-cache and then flash a stock original rom with odin ?

I have the exact same problem, am about to buy a new battery tomorrow unless someone else has another solution? This might not be the proper forum but in here at least many i9001 users will read it.
I've had this problem for about a week, was very annoying while on holiday. I've tried using BroodROM BE 1.0, Stock KQE and now back to stock KPG.
Try ebay - you can easily find decent batteries for 5$ there.

Well yes I'm going to try a different battery soon but the odd thing is after my battery charge seems to drop down to 5% or so, it starts charging to about its original charge level without a charger connected. So it's basically 80%->drop to 5%->charge back to 60% without charger.
i'll try now to do a hard reset, go back to stock rom, then reinstall an costum rom,
will tell you if it works!
Plz mods remove/delete this sheeyat.. this is
Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development
i have used TeamWin Recovery for wipe all partition becouse with hard reset don't wipe /system and internal sd.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. I charge my battery to full and it starts draining normally. Then, when around 30-80% battery remaining, it turns off. It only turns off when you use it for a while, when the screen is off it stays on normally. After rebooting it turns off within a minute or so. This continues for a few reboots with the battery level remaining roughly the same. Eventually after a few boots it shows 3-4% of battery, after which I of course have to charge. Also tried calibrating and tried different roms but it still remains. I ALSO SWAPPED MY BATTERY WITH A FRIEND BUT IT DIDN'T HELP! It worked like a charm for him but I still got turn offs with his battery.
If i were you Guys, i would install stock rom and hand in my phone under warranty ( of course if you still have it ). Because if this occurs even when u swap battery, let samsung play with you phone then
Its not your battery..restore your phone to the way it was and give it to samsung
i'm getting pissed of now, even with the stock rom it randomly shutsdown.
i don't have any warrenty so i can't give it back to samsung
In case anyone's still wondering, in my case it did turn out to be a fried battery. If anyone else is experiencing the same issues I was, just check your battery to see whether or not it is swollen. If it's bigger than it should be, that probably means it's fried and you should replace it. I'm happily running custom roms without any trouble again now, and battery life is awesome!

Sorry Rajito, but you are having a serious problem, i think the motherboard is the problem, my friend had the same problem with his I9000 S simple. You shoud go to a service !
Hi guys,
I also have this problem, my phone randomly turns off and when I turn it on, it shows much less remaining battery percentage than before. (please see attached image) After turning on the value is increasing, sometimes from ~5% to 30-40% or more...
Now I have CM10 Jelly Bean flashed, but CM9 did the same sometimes but much more rarely than on JB. Today the phone 'died' three times until noon.

Yeah that's the exact same problem I had. In my case it turned out to be a fried battery, see if it's swollen or not, if you lay your battery on a table it should stay still and not wobble around. If the battery's not flat but swollen that means your battery is fried. In this case good news because you can easily replace it

unfortunately it is absolutely not swollen, its fully flat :\
besides this I put out the battery now and put it back and it is showing only 2% percent of battery so maybe my battery is wrong
UPDATE: after uninstalling the pro version of Battery Indicator there were no random shutdowns at all, but the free version is fine o.0
So i have had my htc one for about a year and a half now and for the past couple of months i have been having problems with my battery. The way it is acting is really sporadic so i will try to explain it the best way i can. First of all, the battery is draining faster then usual, and it won't charge when plugged to a computer for some reason (ok sometime it does charge but its so random, and when it does it will only charge for about 1-2% in the span of an hour) So i have to use a power outlet when i need to charge my phone.
Now what i did when it did that, which is a solution i found on the net was to clear the system cache which i did by going into twrp recovery(yes btw my phone is running android HD 62.0 with kit kat 4.4.2) and wiping the cache..That only seemed to help fix the issue for awhile, because after that my phone could somehow charge from a computer but it still drained fast and i notice that it also overheats more then the usual. So at this point i did a little more researching, made sure that all my process/task were closed and everything and it seem that its always my android system that seems to be using alot of power (see my attached screenshot).
Ultimately at the beginning of the week i did a factory reset, this SEEMED to have fix the issue for about 3 days my phone was working fine, no hard battery drain it , no overheat and it would even charge fine on a computer... until about 2 days all the above came back ! woke up in the morning, my phone was hotter then usual, by the time i arrived at work my phone is at 75% and all i did was listen to music !
Now i really loved my HTC while it lasted and was even planning on getting the M8, but im disappointed that the battery is giving me headache like this so im hoping there is something i can do before i decide to change phone completly
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you !!

I wish I knew of a fix for this problem as well, because I appear to have exactly the same problem with my M7 running ViperOne 5.8. I'm hoping that updating the ROM will alleviate the issue, but I have no idea. I also don't know that mine fails to charge from a computer — my impression is simply that it's charging slower than the battery is being drained by whatever process(es) is causing the problem.
I'll let you know if I find an answer!
hmmm i thought i could avoid having to update the rom but i guess thats one of the only solution left for me to try. could anyone confirm if this could possibly fix the issue ?

I'm currently running latest Pure Nexus ROM and Despair Kernel on my n6. While they have both been working fine, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on why certain things are happening. Yesterday I dirty flashed the despair kernel because only 2 cores were online and the other 2 wouldn't start. After the reflash, my phone was able to barely use any battery. So when I got home and i decided to plug my phone in around 20% battery. I wake up this morning and I unplug my phone thinking i'll have as good battery as I did before I plugged it in. Well, it seems that's not the case. My phone seems to be using more battery than it needs as it's just sitting on my desk not in use.
How come my phone starts to drain battery like crazy after a full charge? Is it because I reflashed the kernel and that fixed things? Is it because I rebooted the device? Do I need to reboot the device daily (after a full charge)? Is anyone else experiencing this?
This behavior has been happening on full stock as well and that's why I rooted and flash a custom rom/kernel because I was hoping this behavior would be gone. I know it's probably too early to tell and I guess my phone is "settling" after the reflash, but how come the day of the reflash it runs fine?

signal quality relates heavily to battery drain. if your signal is great quality, youll probably have great battery. but if your signal is bad quality, you can watch your battery basically disappear.

I do have pretty bad in/out signal at work, but it wasn't draining my battery that bad after I did the reflash. I'm wondering if I made a change to a kernel setting that is now letting this happen.
I'll be monitoring it today. So far I'm at 86% with 42m SoT. BBS is saying that my phone has been unplugged for 4h 25m. So that is a 3.2%/h drain. My phone has been awake for 44m (screen off). This was increasing before I changed some settings for the kernel, but now seems to not be increasing as much.
So my phone is overheating when I plug it in the charger, when I play bleach immortal souls, when I multitask with a pop-up window Two dots and YouTube together and my battery life only gets max 3 hours SOT.
I am opting to get the oneplus 8T once it comes out next month but I'm not sure what to do with my note 9 in the meanwhile. No matter if it's the stock ROM or the 4 custom ROMs out there, it all has the same problems but the one thing that's confusing me is that accubattery says my battery health is 87%.... Anyone else encounter a problem like this?
Sorry for what might be a dumb question but have you factory data reset you phone? I did a few months back and felt like a new phone again.

yeah I did a factory reset, I formatted the whole phone using stock recovery aswell and that didn't seem to fix the problem. i recently flashed superstable rom and the phone is blazing fast but still I can get no fast charging, battery life is really bad even after doing a battery calibration like for instance last night my phone was at 100% and I didn't put it in the charger and 7 hours later i found my phone at 58% and i ca share screenshots that shows it didn't have any phone use.....
the thing is this is probably a battery gone bad problem but I don't want to open the phone to lose "water proofing"
Hello!
Is fast charging not working at all on custom 12.1 ROMs?
After trying a few ROMs based on Android 12.1 I noticed all of them are slow charging the phone. :/ I was a good boy and formatted data, wiped partitions and installed the latest firmware between them all but that didn't change anything.
Hello, I am currently with the Rom Evo, look, it is curious, the fast charge is present, but until reaching (so to speak) about 60% of battery, after that the charge changes to slow and it takes much longer in end up. I don't know why, it's like a half fast charge In addition to that I am noticing something strange, the phone turns off before reaching 0 battery, with android 10 that never happened to me, but with 12 yes It turns out that I bought a new battery and the same thing happens so I think it's the roms

It's definitely the ROMs since now I am back on MIUI 12.5 with unlocked bootloader, orange fox recovery, magisk manager and the charging is working properly again without any fuss on the original cables and chargers.
I guess that the 12.1 need some more time to mature.

Well, at least it's a software problem and not a hardware problem, one question, did the same thing happen to you? that is, did your phone turn off before reaching 0? android 12.1 is beautiful once you get used to it, it would be strange for me to go back to 11 or 10, but if necessary I will

I switched back to MIUI at about 25% battery when I got bored of the slow charging.
