Sorry if this is a wrong group, but in my android smartphone, whenever I try to cast something on Chromecast and press the corresponding Icon, either on youtube or any other app - I get two options with the same name of my chromecast device (I have only one chromecast device). Does anybody know why is this and how I could correct it (or should I?)
Thanks,
Pavana
You're using Vanced and MicroG aren't u u rascal
If you're using MicroG, there's an option to fix the duplicate cast targets somewhere in settings. I'm using root now so I don't remember exactly where it is, but I hope this is enough of a breadcrumb trail.
Go to Youtube Vanced > Settings > Vanced Settings > MicroG Settings and enable cast duplication fix. That's it!
I have the same problem & there's no microg settings option for me

You need to try clearing the default actions of all your gallery apps or apps you think are related in settings --> apps
You will not lose data if you select 'clear defaults'
Sent from my Nexus 7
Most of the related apps have the "clear defaults" option dimmed :S

Then they don't have default actions set
So it didn't work?

I found this YouTube video on the Chromecast. Most of the usage is well known but at 6:15 into it they mentioned the Chrome PC extension settings which isn't much. There appears to be some hidden settings called Custom Mirror Settings that can be uncovered and might being interesting to some.
Unless this has already been covered and I missed it???

Yes the GoogleCast Ext will do Mirroring....
When you click on Icon and see the Menu right under the mouse is a little arrow that when you click will let you select between Cast Tab, Cast Screen and Audio Mode....the Cast Screen is still experimental and if you have Multiple Monitors it will cast all monitors since there is no way to select which monitor you want to cast.
It's proof that Mirroring is Possible with the Hardware side of CCast, Just a matter of supporting it with better software than the GoogleCast and incorporating it into the DIAL Menu options.
It's not the Autoplay for next video. It's when you scroll through the list on the main page, it kinda previews the video by silently playing them. It drives me nuts. Went through every single setting already. Anyone know how to turn it off?

I remember seeing this a while back and turning off. However, right now I don't see the option and don't have autoplaying thumbnails.

Auto-Play feature is a feature on YouTube service that designed to help to enable a ‘lean back’ experience and keeps videos playing without you having to select a new video when the video that you are watching finishes. This feature on YouTube makes it easier for you to decide what to watch the next. When this feature is enabled on YouTube, another relating video will automatically play after a video ends.
Method 1: Disable AutoPlay on YouTube on Mobile within Settings
To disable AutoPlay feature on YouTube in your mobile phone, follow the steps given below.
Step 1: Open ‘YouTube’ app in your mobile or open YouTube website, and login into your accoun
Step 2: Now, tap your Profile Picture and tap ‘Settings > AutoPlay’
Step 3: You can tap ‘AutoPlay Next Video’ slider to enable or disable the function
Method 2: Disable YouTube AutoPlay on mobile within a video
Step 1: You can find AutoPlay controls by playing any video on YouTube app
Step 2: Tap anywhere on the video to reveal the controls
Step 3: The AutoPlay Slider is located along the top, next to ‘Cast, Subtitle/CC’ and settings button. Tap the slider to toggle the function to OFF.
I read about this on the web and 'https://techsmagic.com/how-to-turn-...bile-iphone-home-screen-while-scrolling-steps' is discussed it, and it helps for you. Thanks

Is Youtube Vanced Legal?
YES! YouTube Vanced is perfectly legal to use depending on your country's laws. It is an unofficial YouTube app that has enhanced features. If you download and use it for personal use that should comply with most countries' legal systems. But I suggest double-checking your local laws in you have some concerns

Every time I take out my Galaxy Buds Live and put them in, my S21 ultra automatically launches YouTube Music. Then i inadvertently tap the bud while I'm adjusting and it starts playing music. I don't want this and would prefer to disable the auto launch. I've checked in the settings for Galaxy Wearable and YouTube Music and don't see it. Anyone know how to stop this?
Youtube Music > settings > Allow external devices to start playback
disable that, should be good.

For now I've uninstalled and reinstalled YT Music and it seems better so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Go into Wearables and check settings there*.
Maybe app permissions for Utube.
Lol, I keep that app disabled.
I use Poweramp which will do the same but it can be disabled in it's many settings.
Very annoying when you don't want it...
* if nothing else works you can disable the Buds touch controls in Wearables... the full nuke option
