has anyone gotten the current version of the Chase app to work with the current version of Magisk? Specifically, the Zelle send/request feature. Always detects root even with Magisk hide and renaming manager, and deleting all folder names containing Magisk, etc.
Has anyone got it working? If so, what steps exactly must be taken. Please dont turn this into a general banking app thread, which gets very confusing and non-helpful. Just the current Chase app.
Thx
Yes, I have the same issue with the latest version of the Chase mobile app on Android 10 with Magisk 20.4. Have switched all spending over to Amex until this failure is resolved.
Resolved using the Island app, which is available on Play Store

Here's how
1 Uninstall Chase
2 Hide Magisk package name in the app & reboot
3 Install Chase app, don't run it
4 Hide Chase in MagiskHide & reboot
5 Run Chase app and cross fingers
Having the same issue as well, I even tried within Samsung's secure folder which is supposed to create a new environment but it's still detected, repackaging magisk didn't work either unfortunately
I'm having the same issue! On Magisk 20.4 with repackaged and renamed manager. Added both chase processes in Magisk Hide, and did a full system search using:
find / -name "*magisk*" 2>/dev/null
and found nothing outside /sbin. Still no luck after doing all of the above, clearing app data, then logging back in. For me, the primary issue is not being able to access "Ultimate Rewards". Interestingly, I was just able to send $1 through Zelle on the same device, contrary to OP.
Edit: The Island app is also not able to solve the issue, which further supports what @ChainfiresSon stated above.
Did you end up finding a solution for this?
The app was working fine up until the recent June update for me. Would really like to get it working again.

Is there a safe way to downgrade the version?
1. Island does not work
2. Uninstalling Chase, Hiding Magisk, Installing Chase, Hiding from Magisk, running Chase does not work either
I've been having the same issue since Google started enforcing hardware attestation. Magisk no longer passes CTSProfile test on my Pixel 4 as well. So far this is the only app I have that has started having root issues with.
Unfortunately, there are many ways to detect root besides Magisk.
I have no issue with the Chase app on a pixel 3xl, and without decompiling and analyzing the app there can be many reasons why it detects root (modules, Xposed framework, etc).
I am on Android Q with July security patch and use Magisk and Magisk Hide with many modules (Viper4Android, edge sense plus, etc). Along with both Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
Hope you can resolve this.
Cheers,
B.D.

The app itself has no issues. Just with using the credit card bonus points or adding new contacts on Zelle. Do those work for you?

I have no issue getting my points from credit cards or using zelle.
Cheers,

Yeah, on mine, only when using certain aspects of the chase app will it complain. I just clicked on "explore ultimate rewards" and got the you're rooted message. Google Pay works fine (oneplus 7t) and I didn't even have to do a bunch of workarounds like I had to with the 6t. Haven't figured out how to get the chase app to work 100% though.

Fair enough. Still trying to figure out if anyone else has any update on this. I hate that it doesn't let me add zelle recipients sometimes/etc as well.
Update- seems like the new latest update has made it even harder to use since it detects root. Anyone have any ideas how it detects it?

Hello everyone! Now that we have root, does anyone know a way around to using HBO Now on our rooted device?
Since Root Cloak has not been updated in a while (and Xposed is still not running on the G4), it is not possible now. There must be a larger thread on here that talks about ways to get around it, I suggest you look for it and track progress there. If none exists, one should be created in the proper forum.

Wow, is this the Play Store version? HBO Go must be using a pretty easy to defeat root detection. The last update to Hide My Root on the Play Store was in April 2013.
Yes downloaded straight from Play store

Nice! I wish I could hide root from work's MDM :crying:
This works, thanks... and once you start playing something, it seems you can even go back and re-enable root right away and the app stops checking as long as it is in memory.
Edited.
I use root cloak plus from the play store and it works with HBO now. It don't have to disable or enable root. I just add HBO now, our whatever app, to the list and reboot.

With the purchase of VMW the Boxer application are to presented the problem that now when you start the application shows us a notice that the app indicates that we can not use the application if you have installed the module Xposed, I hope you can find a solution to this problem, just as I will investigate possible solutions to share on this topic. Any help is welcome.
Basically we need a module that blocks VMware Boxer from finding any of the Xposed files. I have tried a lot of things but failed to even understand how the app goes about finding the Xposed.

Apologies for the late reply and my knowledge with this is very limited.
I do not know what is the process or what obfuscation methods are to be used. The maximum I had tried was an Xposed Module called Sudo Hide but it didn't work out. Uninstalling the Xposed Installer made no difference either. I also went about renaming most of the Xposed files (appending them with an X eg. Xposed.jar -> XXposed.jar) but it also had no effect. Not very clear on what else can be done to obfuscate this app completely from Xposed.

You can find the APK at http://www.apklinker.com/apk/boxer/boxer-email/vmware-boxer-3-9-0-55-android-apk-download/ It is 68 MB in size and hence unable to upload on here. So thought I would rather link you to it. Thanks

Have you tried using magisk and systemless Xposed? That way you can turn of Xposed when you're working with this app.

it's an email app which means it's running all the time
I have the same problem, still try to find the solution!!!
I experience this issue. I was excited to see boxer was purchased by vmware and anticipated stability fixes etc. When discovering that it refuses to run with xposed installed it was a huge letdown.
There should be an accept risk choice. Even my bank app works with rooted, but warns me.
Boxer was a great app until it got brought over by Vmware which in term own Airwatch mdm now. They have move boxes into their main stream mailbox so it will block any rooted or intrusive application
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I am having the same issue, earlier it was boxer email, after updating it sucks.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? Just got a new phone and need exposed, had boxer on my last phone and really liked it, now it's one or the other but not both
EDIT: TOPJOHNWU IS WORKING ON A FIX RIGHT NOW, WAIT FOR MAGISK 13 RELEASE OR ENABLE CORE ONLY MODE AS A TEMP FIX.
Posted in magisk forum too, but a TLR
Posting this from my phone so sorry for any errors here.
Google seems to have updated safetynet within the last few hours, on 2 devices. That previously passed with magisk. There is an easy way to fix it, that I don't really want to post here as Google probably read the forums. Let's just say it's easy to fix, but you not using modules any more. Hoping for an update soon if that's possible and I can provide any logs or details to the dev if needed. Have eliminated that any modules I was using were causing this as I removed them all one by one.
God damn it, I just want to login into Snapchat.. innocent users are being punished for no reason. I get the security and all but Snapchat? Seriously.. I know of none rooted ways to record or take screenshots without the other person finding out.. totally defeats the purpose. I thought it was a problem on my end, I flipped every table to get Snapchat working but nope.

Turn on "Core Only Mode" in Magisk's setting menu.
If you have a Magisk module that you still really want to keep, you'll have to manually install it into your /system partition. This shouldn't trip safetynet.
Keep in mind that "Core Only Mode" disables itself every time you wipe cache/Dalvik.

Hi all
I recently noted that since the last Spotify app update (8.4.43), I can't barely access anything on Spotify despite my premium (legal, in case you ask!) account.
I mean for those who use it, all the daily mixes are not showing, I can't search any artist or anything or I get a "you're in offline mode" or "something had went wrong".
I'm using Xposed 90.1b3 Magisk module for a few things, mainly gravitybox, on a OP5T wih OOS 5.0.4. When deactivating Xposed Magisk module, Spotify is working fine again...
Is someone else experiencing the same problem ?
I guess Spotify is now asking for safetynet but I would like to know if there is a solution, as I don't use Xposed to pirate anything. This is not fair for honests users imho...
Thanks for your time

Thanks. That didn't help sadly... I'll stay with previous version for now :/
In XPrivacyLua just turn off tracking and sensors for Spotify.
For those who have the problem, xprivacyluna isn't the solution
You probably have "Adblocker Reborn" which block Spotify , disable it and it's ok
Is there any known issue with payments via Gpay?
I have added cards into the wallet, NFC is enabled, but payments don't working.
I have OnePlus 10 PRO 5G running Android 13 (NE2213_11_C.20) - Official version (no root nor custom ROM).
Yip - on the latest Android 13 build, Gpay / wallet doesn't work if you have a work profile enabled. There may be other reasons as well but that seems to be a common cause and no sign of OnePlus admitting to the issue let alone fixing it !
Same thing happens on my NE2213_11_C.20, also enabled work profile. Hopefully this can be fixed soon
I'm on Android 12 A_17 and mines not working anymore.
I'm tempted to flash the stock boot image then remove magisk, set it up then root..

Yup reported this a while ago. A someone pointed out work profile seems to be affecting it. Personally, I ahve no work profile on my phone.
Ther was a Walled update today, not sure if that's gonna make any difference as I had no chance to test it yet.

Yes, and I'd say cloner should work the same way the Work profile would work.
No big deal for me, as I'm not using it anyway. Think I just tested it and totally forgot until now. It just came to my mind yesterday as I was reading a post about removing the work profile from ADB and saw the Cloner UID showing up...
