I am on Android version 10 - WW-170230. 2004.60. In Air Triggers app - Shortcut to launch an app. I want to long squeeze and select an app. Why can't I see Sony Headphones app? It's not present there. I use the app for my headphones WF-1000XM3.
Can anyone else verify this?
I have the WH-1000XM3 i use with my ROG Phone II, and verified the Headphones app is not listed as an app for air triggers as well. Was it listed on previous versions on the phone?

Hi guys,
Anyone had any luck with these?
Have installed the Gmail and Email smart extras from Google Play, they're supposed to be accessed by the Smart Connect, but can't seem to see or use them?
Thanks guys.
You need Sony smart headset pro (MW1) or the smartwatch to use them,
Look at pic (I'm using headset now)

Do Smart Extras work on non-Sony smartphones?

Hi everybody,
Yesterday I received my Sony Smart Wireless Headset pro that I would like to use with my Alcatel Onetouch 997D Android smartphone (Android 4.0.4/ICS).
Pairing was no problem - the Bluetooth headset works fine for music and for calls. (The latest firmware 0.1.D.0.6 was installed via my PC.)
I also installed the Smart Connect app and the app for the Smart Wireless Headset pro on from the Play Store - but I simply don't know how to use Smart Extras on my headset!
In the "devices" tab of the Smart Connect app my headset appears but I can only define events.
I don't see the notification "Smart Wireless Headset pro connected" you can see on waynekirby's screenshot...
How can I use Smart Extras? Do they only work on Sony smartphones?
(The Smart Extras were the reason I changed my headset from an MW600 to the MW1.)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Can anyone tell me how to disable autostarting of Music app when headphones are pluged in?
Can't find anything about this in settings (both in app and mod settings).
Didn't find anything about this here (or somewhere in the internetz).
Am I the only one annoyed by this "feature"?
Music app starts because of a loose contact in the headphone jack.
Whenever you plug in your headphones the phone thinks you pressed the media button on the headset that shipped with the phone (it has a fourth contact on it's jack).
To disable this I used an App called Autostarts: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts
In this app you have to look for the event "Media button pressed" and then disable forwarding this event to music app.

Thanks for the suggestion!
...But it sounds a bit like cracking nuts with a microscope.
What I can think of is to install an application that "steals" the event from the music app and disable autostarting from within this app. But this solution is far away from elegance also.
There should be a quick and elegant solution.
Maybe a short script that prevents forwarding of this event to music app?!...
...which, unfortunately, is beyond my abilities. :/
I don't think you can "steal" the event from a specific app.
The more media players you install the more receivers of the MediaButtonPressed event are in the list so I guess the event is a broadcast that every app can choose to receive and react to.
Autostarts' description says it can disable app components, but needs root access too - otherwise it will be in read-only mode.
So I guess if you knew exactly what the app does with root rights you should be able to reproduce it without the app.
But it's getting complicated again.
I think the easiest and also most comforable way is to somehow get this app (there's no free version unfortunately) and disable receiving of the broadcast for music apps.
Done.

You were right.
I installed Winamp first. Plugging the headphones began to start Winamp. When I turned off its option to control the headset, the music app began to start.
Then I decided to freeze the music app via Titanium Backup, and voila. Problem solved. After restarting the phone even music app icon disappeared from the menu.
Not the most elegant solution, but it works.
Thanks for the useful info!
Now I just have to find a lightweight player that doesn't autostart when the headphones are plugged in or that has an option to disable autostarting. Winamp is not so good lately.
I prefer Player Pro - but yet again - this app is not free...

Happy New Year!
As per title, there is a software that works with the Note 3 and S4 which functions as a Remote Control for TVs, stereos etc.. This software is called WatchON, is installed by default on Note 3 and uses irDA (infrared) to control the aforementioned equipment.
There is now another part of this software which works specifically with WatchON and is only for Samsung Galaxy Gear. It is made by Peel. It functions as a remote tv etc. control using the irDA of the phone. So you leave the phone on the sofa looking the TV and can change channels using the Galaxy Gear..
More info here:

Well I cannot find this specific app for my Galaxy Gear to install it! If anyone has it could you please upload it?
Thanx.

The Gear has no IR emitter. There's no hardware to support it, it's impossible.

Yes I know that it has no IR hardware.
The Gear uses via bluetooth the WatchON app and the IR hardware of Note 3 to send commands to TVs etc.
In other words the Gear is used as a companion to WatchON app which is installed on the phone and sends the commands via BT to the phone which are then transmitted via the IR emitter of the phone to the TV set.
I am trying to find and download the Remote Control app which allows the Galaxy Gear to function as mentioned above.

I'm all for doing tech because you can do it, but that'd be a total waste that I can tell. You'd have to get your phone out, make sure it was pointed at the TV, then use the BT on your watch to control the phone to control the TV?

Haven't seen it, but it sounds like a cool idea to me. If you never have to touch a remote while watching a program, I get that this may seem a bit much. However, when you have multiple interruptions (think kids) and the remote has gotten lost between the pillows, the value of this idea becomes obvious.
I'll see if I can't find it.
That app hit the gear store awhile ago and was subsequently pulled within a few days-no idea why-did try it and it was more trouble than it was worth-after a few minutes I ended up uninstalling

it sounds rather usefull to me. i have my note 3 connected to TV/projector sometimes, and it's usually pointed at the screen anyway so having the ability to pause/change volume etc from my wrist would be more than cool.
Did anyone ever find this app?

I had the app when I first got my gear.
On my gear I noticed that the quick reply feature for text messages does not work unless you are using the stock app I the note 3. Also the media controller did not work with any app other than the Samson music app. Did I configure something wrong or is that the way it is designed?

can't talk about text replying, but 3rd party music players works for me.
i'm using poweramp and i am able to control music using my gear. it doesn't show albumart though.
just make sure you do not have more than 1 music player installed, as sometimes it goes crazy and it will control music through samsung app...

dont know with the messages, but for the media controller i got a dirty fix that works well in my case.
i only use spotify for music, and a audiobook player app, so i simply froze the stock music app with titanium backup and now it works like a charm for my other apps.
the funny thing was that before i froze it, i could control other audio apps, but i had to first push a button on the media controller, then go to the phone and kill the stock music app, after that it recognized the other audio app..
hope this helps :good:
Neither of them work. They make the toast notifications but don't do anything. I used the Xposed MTCB module but that doesn't work with pocket casts and it only works with one app at a time. Does anyone know how to use those media control apps? I have a youtube video below which shows me attempting and failing with the HEADUNIT and CARSERVICE apps.
I have exactly the same problem. Have you found any solution?
Do you have any functionality with those buttons in any application at all? Or is it just those 2?
Have you tried this with another music application, such as PowerAmp?
Have you updated the ROM to the latest version from Malaysk?
Also, what is the make and model of the headunit you have?
First thought I had is, quit the one app that you're using, then open another app and try again. The stereo may get "confused" if you have more than one app open at a time.
