Custom recovery and supersu

I have a custom recovery on my phone, and have had it for some time now I guess. It didn't factory reset when I installed the recovery, but I need to install supersu and was curious as if that part of the process will factory reset my phone. Help! I have a oneplus one on android lollipop
No. Neither installing a custom recovery, nor installing supersu, not rooting the device will "factory reset" or clear your data, if it's done correctly.

is there a way to install Magisk with TWRP on unlocked stock rom ?

I have a P8 Lite2017 PRA-LX1 no brand, unlocked, twrp 3.1.1, stock ROM
I've tried superSU, it works, but I wanted to use Magisk,
so I did a factory reset, unSU, and tried to install Magisk 15.3 and 14.0,
both gave me the error 1
"boot changed by software" and "boot partition too small" or something like this
on the net, I read that I need to install a stock boot ?? then someone install magisk via fastboot ??
I don't get it, I can't have twrp AND Magick ??
---
also, I even tried to install the "new" twrp-3.1.1-2-v2.5, after installing and rebooting, I still get the twrp 3.1.1-0 written on the splashscreen at the begin of twrp, is this normal ?

Unable to install UNNIMOD from TWRP, error 1

I've tried to install Magisk and I had no problems at first. I downloaded Magisk Module and tried to install some modules, I rebooted my phone and it was stuck on a bootloop. Luckily I had the rom availabe so installed it using hrupdater.zip. Everything was back to normal without magisk installed, I assume a module is causing the bootloop, so I did some investigating and found the unimod module, I tried too flash it from twrp and it keeps ending with error 1. The same thing happens with magisk uninstaller and mount magisk. I'm also unable to wipe cache but I dont know if that's a seperate issue
Please post the recovery log showing those errors. Impossible to definitely say what's wrong otherwise.

Having trouble with TWRP error 1 "Cannot mount /system"

Hello, everyone!
I hope anyone can help me.
Yesterday I assisted with rooting and flashing a Mi 9 T Pro with Xiaomi.eu firmware.
Here are the steps which were done:
1. Unlocking bootloader via MiFlash Tool.
2. Flashing TWRP (this one: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117906979)
3. First trouble: It only booted once into TWRP with "fastboot boot recovery xxx.img, after formatting data and a restart of TWRP it refused to get access again, neither with a command nor with hardware keys. It was stuck in fastboot.
4. With the MiFlash Tool I reverted to the stock global (this one: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.3.1.0....M_20190805.0000.00_9.0_global_135788d537.tgz)
5. After successfully flashing the stock ROM, I downloaded and flashed this TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1899786940962577905
6. Flashing this version of TWRP went perfectly fine.
7. In TWRP I formatted data again. I restarted TWRP and copied the following files to storage:
ROM: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1899786940962578113
Magisk 19.2.zip
Disable_dm verity_ForceEncrypt
8. I wiped Dalvik, cache, system and data.
9. I flashed ROM - it went through without problems
10. I tried to flash the dm verity, then an error occurred (please see the attached picture).
Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Root is mandatory for me, I definitely need it.
I'm looking forward to your input and your help, it's very appreciated!
try to unmount system then flash it again

Thanks for your input. I tried that, unfortunately this didn't work.
But I found the solution a few minutes ago:
I downloaded TWRP 3.3.1-13 (one version newer) and flashed it inside of my old TWRP. I rebooted to recovery again and then flashed Magisk without problems.
(The dm verity still refuses to install but the phone is booting and running.)
Well, it always work for me, or simply reboot recovery also work. Try wzsx twrp, it has remove DM verity & forced encryption remover in advanced menu

[Magisk] Bootloop after LineageOS update

I've been using LineageOS on my Poco F3 for a while now, everything worked as supposed until I updated Magisk from v23 to 24 a while back. Safetynet wouldn't pass anymore and I ended up extracting the boot.img and 'injecting' Magisk and got everything to work again, including safetynet. The only thing: I couldn't update LineageOS anymore. It would end up in a bootloop and after a while would revert and works again.
I then try to install the OTA first, installed Magisk through the app on the inactive partition and then do a reboot. This ended up in a bootloop which I could only recover from by doing a factory reset from recovery.
I now again have a working phone, using partition a as the active partition and an update would result in a bootloop (in Lineage recovery, after the update during the bootloop, I see the new version on partition b), eventually falling back to the working a partition.
I already did a Factory reset and a complete reinstall of LineageOS.
The Magisk App is now installed (through the .apk), but it does not say installed in the app, the only option when I try Install is 'select and patch a file'.
I am not sure what to do next and not brick my device Any help would be much appriciated.
