Overly sensitive touchscreen - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Did anybody have this problem with X2 Pro touchscreen being way too sensitive? Like you can use it without even touching the screen, just hovering the finger ~1 mm above it.
At first I thought it could be because of the static on the stock screen protector, but it's actually even worse without one.
The difference is quite dramatic when compared to my old Nexus 4 (where you need to firmly press to register a touch), but not so much compared to Xiaomi Mi9T (which also feels way too sensitive, just not as quite as much as my X2 Pro).
Doesn't lead to ghost touches or anything like that, but scrolling with one hand is rather uncomfortable as it feels like your thumb is sort of "sticking" to the screen.
It almost seems like there's some sort of a glove mode on. I've looked through adb settings (currently using RealmeUI c26) and found these:
Code:
glove_enable=0
oppo_glove_mode_enabled=0
synaptics_glove_mode_enable=0
Unfortunately changing them does nothing.
Can somebody try this test for me:

}
If you put a thick stack of papers (e.g. 26-page Realme Quick Start Guide) between your fingers and the screen, pressing hard does it register touches? Mine does quite easily.
Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or perhaps I have a defective unit. Or maybe this is working as intended, made with the assumption that everyone puts thick protective glass on top?

Can anyone help me this? Same thing happening on my k20 pro.

Also can me tell me the commands you used to get the glove mode options?

HTC Touch in "carbon fibre"

So I wanted a bit of a different look to my HTC casing. However I don't like silicone or other add-on cases, so I went a different route. On a lark I went to Canadian Tire since I remembered they used to have a fake carbon fibre vinyl available (don't ask how I know). However I found an even better one which looks a bit more realistic (and is slightly transparent so when you place it over coloured surfaces the underlying colour comes through).
Wrapped it around my HTC front and back (took the back cover off to do it). Once you lay it on you can use an exacto-knife to trim out the parts you don't want covered. Then used a heat gun to help wrap the edges without wrinkles (that just happened to be on sale too!).
The finished product:

Maybe not everyone's taste but unless you get REALLY close its fairly hard to tell its not an OEM finish (IMO).
I was in a auto parts store the other day and you know what I saw the exact product you used for this pretty cool in my opinion though I prefer the soft touch feal maybe if my phone gets banged up enough I might do this but looks good
I wish some company would release a leather battery cover, or a way to make it all leather. I think it would look very nice

Small cosmetic issue - Sprint Diamond

I've had my Diamond for about a week or so now and after a few days I noticed a relatively minor cosmetic issue. As seen in the pics below, the button pad on the bottom is slightly raised on the right side. The buttons still function as normal. It's not really noticeable when you're holding the device during normal usage, but pretty visible when looking at it from certain angles. Are there any decent disassembly instructions/walkthroughs for the Sprint Diamond floating around? I found the service manual for the euro diamond, but not the CDMA Sprint version. I can probably do it myself, but it always helps to have a backup in case I forget how to re-assemble certain parts. I'm not sure it's something I really want to bother sending the phone back for or anything. I can live with it if I can't fix it myself.

Diamond service manual
Hi if you PM me your email adress I will email you the service manual.
Ken
I've got the normal Diamond (squared version) and it also has the this problem since the very first day, but on the left side of the panel (the home button). I checked a friend's diamond and it had exactly the same thing on the same place.
Anybody else?
I somewhat fixed it by just fabricating a small washer (out of a twist tie) that goes under the screw on that side, so when you tighten the screw down it pulls the button pad inward a little. It's not perfect, but much better.

Screen replacement OLED/LCD

So bascially I drop my phone (2 feet off the ground) and it crack the screen.
Everything still works fine, only the glass is broken.
My question is I found LCD replacement on ebay for around $120~.
So if I replace that, is not an OLED anymore?!

I think I found the exact one and I'm pretty sure that is a SAMOLED just named incorrectly I don't think anyone would make a LCD screen for a captivate... but if so a SAMOLED would be well worth it over LCD
if its the screen for a cappy it is the right part and will be the same.
I see thanks,
Just debaiting if I should bother fixing it.
Dont really want to spend the $130~ for a DIY I'm not really comfortable with.
Anyone know some cheaper place for parts.
Contract ending in few months.
Going to switch to another provider which I can get a new phone.
I don't know anywhere you might be able to get one cheap mostly because it's the screen I imagine you can't really buy one that wasn't from a different captivate and since you're about to switch and get a new phone I'd live with it haha it's not worth that much money if you don't plan to use it much anymore
Is the screen and front glass one piece? It looks like the screen under the glass is fine.
I agree that there probably isn't a LCD for the captivate.

Fingerprint ID does *NOT* work with Temdan case which has builtin screen protector.

This case https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BNZYQZB/ is being sold under many different name plates all over Amazon. You'll also notice it has 5 star reviews across the board even without the phone being in the purchaser's hands. Well, there's a possibly a good reason for that, they entice you, the buyer, with a $20 Amazon gift card in return for a 5 star review.
Even after turning on touch sensitivity increase setting it does not allow even the registration of fingerprints. I had a variant of this case for my note 9 and my so's iphone 11 pro. Both are fantastic cases that provide excellent dual layer drop protection while still being quite thin.
I'm debating simply using a heat gun to remove the screen protector and go with another screen protector with this case. I've already done that with the so's iphone 11 pro, worked perfectly shockingly enough.
Just wanted all to have a heads up here :highfive: .

Was looking at that case, but saw this in their product description:
[BUILT-IN SCREEN PROTECTOR] The Temdan Note 20 Ultra Case of Polycarbonate front with built-in screen protector which is scratch resistant.No Support Fingerprint unlock .
When I look, I also see that it specifically says fingerprint scanning isn't supported.

Very true. That's on me, I did not see that text at all.

Newly purchased - Small slit at top?

I can't find information elsewhere on the internet, so I thought I would confirm here. I just purchased this phone and where the metal border meets the glass screen at the top, there is a very thin gap. It begins just before the decorative matte strip at the top. It became more noticeable (assuming dust is getting in) the more I've been talking on the phone.
Is this the speaker?
upload a photo of it, personally I don't recognise what you're describing.
I just peeled back my case enough to look, yes that seems to be the speaker opening.

You have to zoom in. The gap starts and ends where I posted the arrows. I can fit a folded post it inside it by about 1mm.
All I can assume is that this is the speaker location.
yes I have that too. I had never noticed it until you prompted me to look.
thinking about it, it would be weird if nothing was there.
nice colour choice BTW

Yes I believe it's a speaker as well.
