I have the device that I recognized on my Windows computer at first. There was no drop of the device or drop of liquid, simply in an ordinary day the device only presents as "Device Descriptor Request Failed". I have 5 cables here, I have tested them all on several devices and it works normally but it doesn't work in Mi 9. I also connected the device in fastboot mode and I get the same message. What could have happened to cause this problem? Could the charger have damaged the input connector or could this be a problem on the board?

Reboot your phone and computer then try to connect it again. If the same issue, then look at this post and see if it will help. I have also uninstalled the drivers, rebooted the computer and then install the drivers again but not HTC Sync Mgr.

If you have not done it already, try wiggling the mini-usb cable to see if it improves anything. Is the phone charging? It might be a hardware problem, I have read in some other post that it is the motherboard. Sorry, I can not think of anything else.

Yes i try to move the cable in the side of the micro usb, and 5 Or 6 diferents cables, and yes, the phone only charge.
Its very strange because I bought the phone used and only works one day and the second day lost the connection to pc when in try to unlock the bootloader, the first time no connected and suddenly work, I can only unlock the bootloader and stop working.

Try to clean the phone's contacts with a little rubbing alcohol and/or compressed air. There maybe lint or dirt on the contacts preventing a good connection.

Unfortunately that link does not work anymore. What was on it?
Asking because I got an m7 here where USB works just fine and reliably in both fastboot and recovery. But when the system (any ROM, tried more than 10 now), there's only charging. No MTP, no nothing.
Laptop's `dmesg` says:
Code:
[150266.816544] usb 2-1.5: new high-speed USB device number 16 using ehci-pci
[150266.935189] usb 2-1.5: New USB device found, idVendor=0bb4, idProduct=0c02

Hello all, my LGWR doesn't enter anymore in fastboot mode (swipe from 11 to 5 does nothing) i was wondering if a fastboot cable would help, i saw that some moto and kindle devices can be unbricked with that cable.
Cannot post a link yet but search on amazon "Fastboot-Motorola-Factory-Atomic-Market"
have any of you tried that ? i think in the case of LGWR the cradle should be opened and pin 1 (Vcc) connected to pin 4 (NC). maybe trough a resistor ? of what value ?. I ordered a cradle from china to "hack" it but it takes 30 days to reach me... Somebody can try that faster than me (have a cradle, open it etc)?
thank you
did you try abd to enter fastboot?
when i connect it to PC it says "usb device not recognised" and "unknown device" and i cannot add a proper driver. I tried a few drivers, which one should i use?
thank you

does the watch boot?
sometimes it restarts after a few seconds (during coloured balls animation), sometimes it boots up to "Android is stating / app xx of xx" and after it finishes "Power off.../shutting down"
I've tried both normal & recovery booting and it doesn't turn on. Doesn't show the flashing logo either so I think I might be SOL unless there's a way for me to save it .

If there is no sign of life, no known fix
send back to Amazon for a one time exchange if still under warranty
Sent from my sailfish using XDA Labs
Same thing just happened to me. I have a blank screen will not go into recovery mode or even pull up the screen.(black Screen) I just tried to downgrade to root. get nothing now. Take that back, my pc keeps beeping to leave me know a usb connectes, but then disconnects. tried different cables, one gives me a message USB Device not Recognized The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Another Cable in Device manager pops up MediaTek PreLoasder USB VCOM (Android). then disappears like every 15 seconds.

Hello all, I have a strange problem on my xiaomi 8 phone.
Every thing works fine, the phone is BL unlocked, with global rom installed and can be OTA-updated.
Now I want to re-lock the Bl (because of google pay), so I booted to fastboot and the strange thing happens. When I connect to the usb port of my win10 pc, nothing happens, the device manager also show no new device or unknown device. And I als connected to my ubuntu server, dmesg show nothing, and lsusb also show nothing new.
So the issue is, in fastboot mode, my phone seems not be responsed the usb connection. This is boring, because I also accidently replaced the twrp with stock recovery, now I can do nothing on my phone without the fastboot connection.
Any one has an idea or simillar issue and have a solution for it? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you accidentally relocked the bootloader.
If so you will need to repair the phone in EDL mode by using QPST. There are plenty of how to guides available. You can buy a EDL cable from Amazon

Hi,
Using Lineage beckham jleebl 20191007, unlocked and working previously.
Charging over USB works fine.
USB debugging enabled.
Default USB configuration set to file transfer
HTML:
adb devices
results in "List of devices attached" & no devices
HTML:
fastboot devices
returns nothing
Above commands tried OS and bootloader, same results.
Cannot connect to transfer files, or adb push.
I have gone over many of the proposed solutions for file transfer not appearing as an option, none have worked. I took the phone to an repair shop, they cleaned the USB port, but essentially said, "lol, you're phone's broke". Said there was no obvious hardware issue.
Trying to boot into recovery mode just dumps me back into the bootloader. Can't push boot TWRP as fastboot can't communicate with device.
Any help would be SOOOO appreciated. Not being able to update the OS is causing many problems.
Thanks!!

Wait, you took your phone to a repair shop, they told you it's busted,. So you are here looking for a magician, to whammy your phone? When you find one, please ask for lotto numbers, and forward them to me.
Check that you are using data capable usb cable, some cheap cables are only charge capable.
Otherwise, light a candle.
just 4 causes: 1.- moto drivers and Usb debugg ,2.- usb PC, 3.- Usb phone or 4.- usb cable. The option 4.- need repair.
