I got the donate version (love it) but i have moved apps to sd card on my phone, and i have noticed this program, along with a few others need to be started when you restart your phone, is this the case if your apps are on the phone? Also is there a means to tell the g1 what apps i would like it to run on startup?
the new version gives u an option to run at start up
Doh!!! now i really feel like an idiot... I blame linux for my brain frying.
Thanks alot got it set now
i went ahead and got the donate version and i really love the app i just hate how it goes to sleep when i am only using touch. but the app is making my iphone friends so jealous
Lock 2.0 Problem
Well I got the lock 2.0 donate version. Whenever I run the app for it to download the default.zip file it says "the application lock 2.0 has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
But the free version runs fine..
Can not find the donate version in the market - Bulgaria/Europe
Runs fine on my G1
if you don't know what you doing or if u move file that u don't know what they do, don't come crying here asking for help + saying that the app don't work

I found a bug that i reported to the developer.
You can bypass the lock feature, click menu-set skin-back button.
Brings you to the homescreen not back to the lock screen
i liked the app, but asked for a refund becuz when lock2.0 was running, my notification sounds wouldn't work.
anyone else have this problem? i would get the LED notification, but no sound.

No he did not. I still get no sound wheter it's running or not. Hopefully I get it back when I uninstall.
this app worked fine until i turned on the option to have it open on startup. now my phone hangs on the android loading screen. it will not go past it. anyone else had this problem? i have tried to unistall via adb but couldnt figure out how to. any help would be great. thanks!
Grrrr... I uninstalled it, too unstable to be truly usefull. Restart the phone and you have to restart the program, I know you can set it to run at start-up but then it does not bypass that fugly "stock" locked screen. Notifications work on and off, made me miss so many emails....... I'll wait and see if dev can work all those bugs out, may be reinstall it in a month or so.
Weird, I don't have any problems with it. Yeah, when the phone restarts it goes back to the stock locked screen, but I simply enter my unlock pattern and done.
lock 2.0 notification problems
I've read in a few posts where people have notification problems, either no notificaton, or you cant pull down the notification screen etc. I had this problem too intermitantly, i played with it, and found a work around, hopefully help some others experiencing the same probs till the dev comes up with a fix. When you first boot your phone, if you have the proggy set to come on at startup, you have about 3 seconds, where it boots to your normal android start screen (half window, with time network information in it.) if you wait about 3 seconds, it will autolock into your lock 2.0 program. at this point your notifications are screwed, but if when it first boots to the normal android boot screen, and you hit the menu button, it will move to your desktop, and then autolock. You should be good to go at this point. everytime i press menu before it locks, i have 0 notification problems. Hope this helps some of you out there
Have you shared that with the dev yet, n1gh7m4r3?

Just upgraded to Android 4.3 (stock HTC ROM) and there must be a bug because I can no longer disable the lock screen. I'm not talking about the pin/pattern lock screen but the swipe up to unlock lock screen (with the icons in the bottom). If I go to Settings > Security and chose to disable the lock screen it doesn't make any difference.
Can someone else please confirm that this is a bug before I wipe my phone?
Doesn't look like a bug, looks like HTC is being responsible and not allowing a phone to not have any security on it. Makes sense IMO

Exactly! And when you bundle your favourite apps in groups on the dock you can just swipe up that folder to get access to it. Quite nifty I would say

My guess is that they removed a lot of things (in 5.5) because most people didn't even use them or know about them. I don't see why you wouldn't want a lock screen though xD

Well, if there is an option for something that doesn't do anything I consider it a bug. Swipe-to-unlock doesn't add a lot of security imho.

The thing is that the options is there but doesn't do anything. I have my phone 95% of the time on my desk/table next to me and I just find it unnecessary to unlock with a button and then swipe. Whenever I leave home I have it in a tight case so there is no risk on me touching buttons by misstake.

Oh, I see what you meant above now.. But the point is, for a lot of folks the lock screen is pointless. It's just an uneccesary extra step to get to what you want on your phone. Especially now that most phones have pocket detection so there's no worries of pocket dialing anymore. I personally find it annoying and not at all needed. Just one less thing to waste my time and battery.
I guess i can see the usefulness of it though in some situations, I.E. Nosy girlfriend/boyfriend mainly. Lol

I understand what you're saying, and I don't use any sort of security on my phone, but I'd still prefer to have the slide to unlock as opposed to nothing at all. I suppose it's each to their own but IMO HTC have decided to take the option out to possibly cover themselves from unhappy customers - I dunno...
HTC_001 just got the update and now being forced to have a lock screen when it doesn't add any security seems a waste of time, everyone knows how to unlock a phone so it's not going to stop anyone getting in, the choice should be left up to the end user, default it to on and that should cover them enough. Next they'll force everyone to have a pin to unlock their phone.
No Lock app works fine and the fact 1-5mill people have downloaded it shows that they have made a mistake here.
No lock, no thanks
Works awful. Just used it for about 5 minutes and it made my phone behave erratically. Seeing as it hasn't been updated for years, it's no surprise. Good luck with it...couldn't even launch apps from the notifications screen without it loading the home screen, locking it and then turning the screen off. Disabled it and then removed it and all is right again on my phone.
Why not accept peoples wish
No lock works fine - and about the security issues people have here:
I never lock my phone with a pattern, pin, code or something.
If you keep sensitive data on it - your fault. You know that it is public if it is on your phone (as we learned from the NSA).
If you don't, leaving your phone unlocked gives you at least the chance that if you loose it and an honest person finds it, he or she will be able to return it to you by contacting "Mum" or "Sweety" from the Contacts. An unhonest person would simply factory-reset it. Right?

You obviously don't program. And it's great that it works for you, however it is apparent from the thread and the comments in the play store that the app has issues. The app certainly doesn't work for me on multiple devices. So I could certainly ask for more, seeing that it simply doesn't work reliably at all in my testing. But since it looks to be abandoned it's not something I expect. That's not a big deal for me at all because it's an app I simply tried but not one I plan on using.

What the heck does this error mean and how do I fix it. I get it when I try to update my credit card info for Android Pay, and also when I try to authorize accessibility for several of my apps (like my password library, Tasker and the like).
Please help, because I am not being allowed to use some very useful features because my own phone won't let me
Do you have Lux installed? Anything that draws over your screen screws with that kind of thing (I had the same error yesterday).
I don't know the exact answer, but perhaps this will help narrow it down:
Settings/Apps/cog top right > Configure apps/Draw over other apps - this lists the ones that have the permission to draw over the app you're using.

It's not an error. It's a feature to prevent tapjacking.
What is tapjacking protection and how do I turn it off/adjust the settings so that I can use the features.
I mean really? An anti-hack that keeps the user from controlling his own phone? That's sounding like iOS, not our beloved Android.....

I mis-stated my point. One of the guys said it might be Lux, and another showed me how to find the list of apps that are "drawing over". I'm going to disable the apps that are doing the deed, not the functionality that is integrated in the OS.

Example: You're trying to enter credit card info into Android Pay while you have a screen dimmer app running. The dimmer app dims the screen by drawing an overlay. When you're entering the info, you're actually interacting with the overlay. A malicious app could record the touches and capture the info.
Got the official android pie One UI update tonight and just wtf is this mess ? I like the reachable menu items but no swiping across to access the next menu item is less intuitive. Swiping down to access notification is now drawn out, a quick flick down doesn't open it you have to drag your finger down. Performance modes seem to be missing.
All in all it just looks like iPhone OS.
I'll get used to it a guess, well I'll have to won't I ?
I'm sure there's more I'm going to complain about as I've only been on Pie for about 20mins.

I completely agree. It's really terrible.
What have they done to multitasking?
You used to be able to swipe from one corner of a full screen app to put it in windowed mode. That's completely gone.
In order to use split screen you have to go into recents. Swipe back to the app you were using (because it moves away from view). Tap the icon at the top of the app. Select "open in split screen view". Then either scroll through all your recent apps to find the one you want to have one the bottom half of the screen. Or if it isn't in your recent apps you have to find it by typing into a search box! (You can't even switch which is top and bottom any more.)
In Oreo you just opened recents tapped split screen on one app and selected the other from the app-list in the bottom.

It's a new OS, it is different to the last one, there is an easy way to go back, no-one likes listening to someone complaining about everything possible in multiple threads for no reason other than you don't like it, that's not productive and is not going to change anything, so either learn to live with it or flash back to Oreo
Why keep complaining you don't like Pie when you absolutely do not have to use it? It's just whining mate, no-one likes that and all you'll do (As is already happening) is annoy other members

One answer to that is dont use Samsung apps. I have plenty of space so I use the Google dialer, Google Messages, and Google calendar. In fact, I don't use any stock Samsung apps and have most of them disabled along with Samsung Experience Home. With Home disabled the recent menu is vertical again. Of course, with receents vertical you can't use the hold home slide right option.

so I have setup some user profiles for my family, only to findout that when the tablet is initaiily turned on, my password as the main user is needed, to get into the tablet and the others can then log into the or repsctive user profiles. surely there should be a way to have each user log in, using their own password and user profiles but this does not appear to be the case any suggestions?

No idea, Samsung is notorious when it comes to maintaining features barely used.
In android 13 it seems a tiny user profile avatar icon appeared on lock screen. Have you tried pressing that and change to new profile? Maybe it let's you change there so you don't have to unlock yours first.

Nah, this feels like negligence.
When One UI 5 was being tested for Phones, the first two beta's had user profiles as well. They removed it saying they had issues with it, and not giving us any detailed info.
The Tabs had it before One UI 5 obviously. It just feels like a feature with low priority on their end, and there are loads of hints. I.e., you can either have two users and one having a secure folder, or three users with out any having secure folder. Don't get me started if you actually need a user with work profile and secure folder too.
It's a poorly implemented feature. All other OS that have multi user support have the ability to bloody allow the user to log in without their sugauser.
