Every other time I open firefox, it "forgets" all of my personal settings.
Specifically,
1. It won't recognize my firefox account.
2. My addons are disabled
3. My active logins are forgotten (I am not logged into websites and my passwords aren't available)
Closing out my my browser then re-opening 1-2 times gets it to work correctly.
I can't be the only person to experience this but I didn't see any threads on it.
Anyone got a suggestion?
Did you give it storage permission? Pull it up in Settings/apps and take a look.
Yes it has permissions.

This started happening after I went to CyanogenMod a couple of months back, but it's still happening with 4.2.13. Some of my Android apps refuse to authenticate even after I check login credentials and verify that they work fine on the desktop. Some examples of apps that always fail:
PayPal
Personal Assistant
GetItDone (a beta app)
Some examples of apps that have no problem ever:
Pandora
Last.fm
Facebook
Seesmic
Evernote
all Google apps
On #cyanogenmod, someone suggested there was an issue with APN settings, but I think he misunderstood me. My phone itself is fully authenticated with Google.
never mind
I use the HTC keyboard and I find that it almost systematically inserts a space every time I type a period. This screwed up my username wherever it was my e-mail address.
First I'll say that the only reason I have not rooted is that my parents are against it so that I get flamed about not being rooted.
My problem is that about half of my contacts that are synced with Facebook will not update that contacts picture when they change their profile picture on Facebook while the other half of my contacts will update. This is very annoying and I have not found a way to get around this. Even manually going under settings to "Accounts and Sync" and telling it to update immediately does not remedy this. I would very much like to know how to fix this and any help would be appreciated.
I have the same exact problem. Except, I'm rooted. I searched around and the only (half) solution that I found was to edit the contact's picture. After you select facebook it'll reset the picture. It works sometimes, and at the other times it doesn't. I'm still looking for away to do this without having to edit contacts. I also notice that some non-facebook contact's pics won't show in the stock messages or a 3rd party messaging app.
I occasionally notice this issue too -- I think it's just a random problem with the sync sometimes, I don't know that there's a perfect fix or a guaranteed way to make it auto-update every single contact's picture after every change. But I set my Facebook sync time to 'Every 4 hours' and I seem to get pretty good sync/update results with that.
Try going and Clearing Data and Clearing Cache from a few places in your Manage Apps menu...this is kinda like 'starting over' with your contacts (make sure they are all synced/backed up to Google first).
First go into Settings-->Accounts and sync and uncheck/turn off anything that says Google or Facebook.
Then go to Settings-->Applications-->Manage applications.
After that menu loads up (can take a minute or so), scroll down and open Contacts Storage, then Delete cache and Delete data. Also go find anything about Facebook (Facebook for Android, Facebook for HTC Sense) and do the same Delete cache and Delete data for those too. Do the same for People (if you have it in the list).
Then exit out of there and go back into your Accounts & sync options. All your contacts will be deleted. Turn back on all the Google and Facebook syncs and everything will start re-syncing. The pictures should all be updated. Sorry for the really long response....I just got to typing and figured I'd include all this.
I was happy with the NF, and added all the gApps after installing it. It worked fine. However the contact.apk was missing, so I reinstalled NF using CWR.
After that the contacts was back but since then I can't add google account after gApps are added. The "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" error showed up every time.
I tried to reinstall NF, back to stock 1.0.1 and NF again, changing the time, delete settings.db, or even the YouTube trick. All of them don't work.
Any suggestions to solve it?
*update*: Youtube trick worked:
1. Go to youtube.com and sign up for a new account, using the email address you want to add to your phone
2. Open the YouTube application on your Adroid phone, sign out of your account if you're currently signed in (menu button -> sign out)
3. Sign in-menu button-my account, log in with your EMAIL ADDRESS (not your YouTube username)
4. Now You're all done - you can sign out of the account in the YouTube app again if desired. Go to Settings-Accounts and you should see your account in the list.

Market is not working anyway...
Getting the same error after installing Nookie Froyo v0.6.7 to SD, and adding the Gapps (per the nookdevs.com wiki), try to add account/Google results in "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"
I can surf web, use the Facebook and Youtube apps.
Google's Blunder
Search google for can't establish reliable data connection change the options to 'latest' and it looks like this one's on google. I just flashed my firmware for my elocity a7 and got the same error all last night and this morning when trying to sync my google account. Hold fast, daylight will break soon. . .
update:
The YouTube worked when I try to add "@gmail.com" after my username.
However, the Market gives me a "A Server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." error message and I can't get in. Contacts and Gmail is now working though.
Im having the same issue.
Picked up my Nook Color yesturday evening, I've booted Honeycomb off the SD card and then used HoneyGApps.v2 to install Market and a bunch of other apps.
However I get the following error when attempting to add my Google Account:
"Cannot Establish a Reliable Data Connection"
Tried a few things like clearing app cache and rebooting but I can get around this issue.
Anyone have any ideas for what I could try? Im connected to a strong wifi connection so its not a connectivity issue, I can browse the net no problem.
Signing into Youtube with your gmail account username/password gets you logged in, but it looks like a Google network server is down now, so still no Market access
It's Google's problem after all?
I used a WHOLE DAY trying to fix it...(censored)
you sure it's Google's server down?

I opened the Youtube app and tried to sign in.
Even though I haven't "setup" a youtube account before... I used my Gmail address I was trying to add to my Nook. Youtube signed me in.
I went back to Settings -> accounts -> Accounts & Sync.. it gave me a black screen that was there for about 20 seconds. Then I got the "add account" screen with my GOOGLE account listed. When I opened it, it had nothing listed. Then, Calendar showed up. As I sat there, Picassa Web Albums, contacts and Gmail later appeared and started synching.
The sync of those items took about 20 minutes. (I did uncheck picassa).
Trying to open Market, I now get "a service error has occured" so I tried...
Code:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Market
Clear Cache then Force Stop -- DO NOT clear data
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Google Services Framework
Clear data then Force Stop
Reboot
It didn't help.
Also, I notice my browser seems a little slow, and while the facebook app runs, it takes a bit to load up... And when I launch the Gmail app, it shows about have the screen worth of mail, but I see the "loading conversations" at the bottom of the screen for about 5 or more seconds
I just turned my Nook on this morning to find that I can now add my Google account and open the Market. (Morning being 7.50am UK Time).
Must have been a glitch or a few reboots required....
@dhumpherson, what issue did you have previously with adding your account? Was it after you click ont he android robot (right at first screen) and attempt to enter your gmail account? That is where i cannot have success. I did enter into gmail before rooting, and i've read that may be an issue and i need to get rid of the data saved from that login, but i haven't located instructions yet for that.
If you had been unable to login at that initial screen but found an answer please let me know what you did. *If i enter an incorrect password the continue interface will tell me this, so it knows i'm entering the correct one when i do, but it just returns me to the login page, after the display blinks.
My Note is able to browse Internet only using the default Internet browser.
With Doplphin HD, Opera Mobile, Opera Mini and Firefox, whatever URL I write, I get the error "web page unavailable".
Same URL in Internet default browser works.
More, I'm able to access to the market, Samsung Apps, Best Apps, GetJar and Amazon App Store, update almostall wether forecasts, download file, emails ect.
Accounts synchronization work for all accounts except for the social hub ones.
Apps like Facebook, Twitter, FriendCaster, Google Maps, Earth and almost all that need an Internet access, work without problem.
I think one of the apps I've installed in these days is the cause.
May be Set DNS, but uninstalling it dind't solve the problem.
Any idea?
I've found my self the reason.
The problem was, as I suspected, set DNS app.
The "normal" uninstalling (settings->manage applications->uninstall) doesn't remove all changes made by the app.
To uninstall it (and changes made) needs to use the uninstall button that appears pressing the menu button while in the app.
I'm on a Nook HD+ 32GB and CM 10.1.3. Sync is simply not working. I don't mean calendar or contacts, I mean everything that uses sync. Or, to put it another way, every app/service that registers themselves under the "Accounts" section of the settings. So for example, Firefox sync, Evernote, Vine and, of course, all Google services (including Gmail).
The only things that are syncing correctly are the apps that use their own sync like Aquamail, Plume and Wunderlist. Those are all working fine.
The symptoms: When I, for example, press "sync now" in any of the Google accounts, the little sync circle appears next to the first sync item. It doesn't spin (not sure if this rom the circle is supposed to spin) and it just stays there, forever, till I reboot the tablet. I am getting no error messages.
What I have done: Ok, the initial sync works. When I first set up the account, it syncs. I have since factory reset and re-flashed 4 times trying to fix this. The initial sync works but then it never syncs again. If I remove and re-add accounts, it syncs fine the first time but then it doesn't sync again.
I have tried deleting all data from every sync enabled app. When I do that, it doesn't sync at all, not even once. Only time it syncs, that I have seen, is on the initial account setup.
Help: I need troubleshooting ideas and, better, all the things that might stop syncing from working. The mechanism itself seems to be working as it does an initial sync. Something seems to be stopping it from doing any more syncs though and I have no clue what or how the sync system works. What apps are involved in syncing? Is it Google Framework? Other things?
Thanks!!
Be sure that you don't prevent google apps to see your personal data. Go to Settings -> Security -> Privacy guard to check that

Appreciate the help! I don't use Privacy guard and no apps are enabled, but I do use Open PDroid. I tried deleting all rules for every system app in in Pdroid and then syncing but it still does not work.
Any other ideas? Thanks!
After not getting any traction on fixing this, I started trying the 10.2 nightlies. However, I am running into issues with that and would really rather be back on my 10.1.3 build. So a quick "bump" to this thread.
I am wondering if AFwall is somehow to blame here? Before I flashed 10.2 I uninstalled afwall and Pdroid to see if that would fix anything and it didn't. I have also removed the following items from the rom:
email, news and weather, notepad, exchange services, Google+ and picasa uploader. I should note I have removed email, exchange services, google+ and picasa uploader on my 2 Samsung phones (G4 and Note 2) and my Asus tablet (TF300) as well and not had any issues, but I though I would mention it.
I think those are the only things that make my build different from everyone else.
All right, hope this info helps someone. Instead of reading the new Dan Brown, which has been on my want to to list, I sat in a nipa cabana on Saturday, restored my 10.1 nandroid, and tracked this one down.
The culprit is the Xposed module Gravity Box. Once that was disabled and uninstalled sync worked again.
A couple of weeks ago I gave up on CM 10.1 and put on 10.2 to get past this problem. I didn't have time to do a full rebuild of my environment and only things that Titanium could Hypershell restore was put back. Xposed was one of the many things that was not installed. So I am not sure if this problem persists on 10.2 but at this point I am not going back to 10.2 now that I got this worked out.
Someone can tag this one closed/resolved and I hope this helps someone.
