Hi,
I updated my MI 8 with LOS 17.1 to a more recent build.
Previously I updated TWRP to twrp-3.3.1-2 with fastboot. There were no error messages. Strange was that after updating the recovery the boot time into recovery was quite long. In recovery mode I could no longer use the touchscreen.
I updated Linage via adb by entering
Code:
adb shell twrp sideload
Code:
adb sideload ...
Everything was fine and the phone booted to the update LOS. But still there is no way to use the touchscreen.
So I updated to the recent firmware version as described above (V11.0.4.0.QEAMIXM, 10.0, Global).
But still the touchscreen is not working and booting to recovery takes quite a long time.
I appreciate any help a lot!
I "solved" the problem by flashing the MIUI stock rom via fastboot:

Afterwards I made a new clean LOS install.
Still a strange and annoying bug.

Please help me. I am stuck in this. I flashed my phone with latest OnePlus3T Stock OOS 4.0.2 rom via adb sideload.
Now when I try to reboot my device, I am getting message such as "No OS installed". I don't have any recoveries now, since I removed it carelessly
Thanks in advance
Not sure why that happens. Was using twrp-3.0.3-1 beta, when I flashed to twrp 3.0.3-1 (stable), it worked. Also its worth mentioning, that after I flashed new ROM, twrp (beta) asked for password to unlock data partion. But when I flashed stable, I didnt get that password thing, so I believe that could also be a reason for showing NO os. Any way the issue is resolved now.
I'm having difficulty getting TWRP 3.3 working on my z3c. I'm not new to the process, and have done it a few times on a few phones. Right now my z3c has TWRP 3.0.2-1-z3c. I'm wanting to try the new Android 10 ROM that came out, but it requires TWRP 3.3 to work. So I got the TWRP provided in the thread. I'm flashing from Linux, so I did run
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery twrp 3.3.1-1-A10.0-z3c.img
When I reboot and hold the power down button it skips over TWRP and just boots the ROM I have installed.
Okay, so I downgrade to TWRP 3.0.2-1 and reboot...hold volume down...TWRP boots just fine.
Flash TWRP 3.3 again....no joy. It just boots straight to ROM.

Same. Couldnt find a proper answer to this. Still have trouble with this? I'm on CR6.1, that's android 8.1 and I'd like to try later versions (lineage os or maybe CR7.0)

Screwed badly with the systems to the point where I softbricked the phone, and had to revert to stock. Will try going straight to 3.3.1 instead now.
Edit: I used adb to go to fastboot (adb reboot bootloader), from there I tried all the different twrp images I have, including latest Android 10 one using the fastboot boot image.img (replace image by name of image, I name them A8, A9, A10 to match android version).
All of them booted, which means I can flash them without issues. I don't know which version I want to install though for now, and I don't want to be stuck again on a version that I won't be able to upgrade later on... so will probably go straight to A10 and Lineage 17 even if it's quite buggy.

TWRP stuck on MIUI 11
Hey, I updated my rooted device today to MIUI 11 today and after rebooting it was stuck on twrp logo. I flashed Fox recovery and it works fine but for some reason I can't get root privileges even after flashing normal Magisk or Canary through Fox recovery. I have tried every available TWRP version including LR Team's TWRP but all of them get stuck on recovery image. So can someone help me in rooting my device.
Hi everyone, I face a strange issue with twrp. I'm actually running latest miglobe ROM on Android 10. I'd like to install last official twrp 3.5. I flash IMG with twrp everything is ok ( no error) but when I try to reboot new recovery, phone restart to fastboot. I still can boot ROM with hard reboot (press power for few seconds) but no way to access twrp.
Any idea of what's going on?
Are you trying to access TWRP through power menu?
I also was using Mi Globe ROM, but the first 2 MIUI 12.5 ROMs did not boot for me, has that been fixed?
Yes, I fixed it 2 days ago. I started from scratch. First I flashed latest fastboot global ROM with xiaomitmool. Then install latest twrp 3.5. Flash vbmeta patch and finally xiaomi.eu 12.5
I was going crazy with the microphone not working in OOS 11. Tried few things, nothing worked. Even tried installing Lineage OS 18.1. Didn't help. I think there is some problem with the OOS Android 11 system files that are causing this issue. Reverted to OOS 10.3.9 and my microphone is still broken. Ugh. Now the only thing left is to try replacing the microphone part. Ordered new microphone and replaced it myself. Seems like the microphone got wrecked for some reason. New one works fine on Android 11. Anyways, here is the guide.
Download TWRP:
Download the modified TWRP recovery from here. Make sure you download the "fajita". (FYI, I also have attached it below)
[RECOVERY][3.4.0-11][fajita]Official/Unofficial TWRP recovery for OnePlus 6T (Stable)
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and...

Download Oxygen OS (one of below):
Download the OOS 10.3.9 Stable from the official website here. You can always update to the Android 11 Stable build using the OTA inside.
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OnePlus6TOxygen_34.J.52_OTA_052_all_2103030004_e20debb3eb584411.zip
If you want to switch to the latest Android 11 build directly, grab the latest build using OxygenUpdater App from PlayStore and download a complete build, not an incremental build.
If OxygenOS filename ends with .jar, rename and remove the .jar extension. It should end with .zip.
We will be flashing it twice. Both A/B partitions.
Reboot into bootloader.
Run
Code:
fastboot flash fajita_twrp-3.5.2_11-0_test3.img
You will now be rebooted into TWRP recovery.
Go into Reboot and note down the current slot.
Copy the OxygenOS file to your OP6T internal storage.
Install the OxygenOS file.
After installation is completed, go back to TWRP home.
Go to Reboot and change to the other slot. If it was A before, now change to B.
Reboot to bootloader.
Run
Code:
fastboot flash fajita_twrp-3.5.2_11-0_test3.img
You will now be rebooted into TWRP recovery.
Install the same OxygenOS file again.
After installation is completed, go back to TWRP home.
Reboot to bootloader.
Now to lock the bootloader, run
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Reboot and your device should boot up properly.
You should be good now.
Tried the LOS 18.1 as it is one of few full functional ROMs with likely long security patch support. After realizing the ever changing steps to pass safetynet, I decided to give up and go back to OOS.
The steps outlined here is very helpful to me. The main problem I encountered is the recovery flash command needed for the A/B partition
fastboot flash boot_x fajita_twrp-3.5.2_11-0_test3.img (x=a or b)
Also the second recovery seem to skipped the password/pin prompt which messed up the disk content. I ended up reboot to system and then re-enter the recovery.
