When enabling the Ambient EQ the white balance is too warm to my taste, yet even if I disble it the whites ar still not white enough.
I compare my phone with a crappy Samsung A41, where whites are reaaly whites, and you can even control the white point making whites warmer or cooler.

Samsung phones are very cool or blue which is technically inaccurate. The Pixel 4 XL is actually very close to the 6500k standard. But of course, it's all personal preference.

I've noticed on the WHITE AT&T VIVID that there's a small rectangle/round edge window on the front near the top speaker to the left of the logo..etc

I don't have that on my black VIVID...
anyone know what that is ?? is it the ambient sensor for the display light ??
so why it's only shown on the white version ??
Thanks

Yes you do, shine a bright light at the top of the glass, all of the same 'windows' are there.
I think the capsule/rectangle one is the proximity sensor -- an emitter and a receiver to gauge proximity, and the top left dot is the ambient light sensor.
so i've seen multiple hands on videos of the white version but i cant seem to find any on the blue. I noticed in images that the blue version's metal frame seems to have a blueish hue to it... did anyone else notice this? Kinda makes me wanna switch to White (when i can get my hands on one of course)

Good question. It appears like the metal is a different color than the white model. Check out the second picture in the unboxing gallery
That's why I'm going to go with the white if it's ever actually available
Damn I was just looking at that, not really into white phones but that blue bezel reminds me of my S3. Hmm choices.
Unless you're going naked with the thing, why care? Case is going to cover it anyways ....
color is really unsaturated!seems camera wash colors! same picture that i just increase saturation in pixlr. any idea why?
manual mode 8 mp 16:9
tried superior mode too nothing changed

it's configured like this.maybe we will get a better config with the 5.0
if you cant wait try the Camera 2 app where you can set the contrast and saturation .i downloaded it from google and it's a really nice app
Wow huge difference! First one by 360 ultimate! Why stock app reduce quality?
Last night i took a photo using the astrophotography mode but i took it in a pitch black room with no available light at all and the image was full or pretty stars, these were of course hot pixels which begs the question when you take a photo of the stars how many of the dots are stars and how many are just hot pixels? Google really needs to add one total blackness shot so dark frame subtraction can be implemented to clean the image up.
This is all the hot pixels on my P5 sensor showing after a totally dark photo proving there is no dark frame subtraction in play, given Googles panache for computational photography this is very surprising . You have to bare in mind this is greatly enhanced to show them all up, the original photos just shows lots of tiny dots, just like stars.

Is it just mine or it's general thing, torch led light is kinda low intensity compared with some other phones I used in the past, it's also a bit yellowish, dunno if this is Oppo thing or just bad batch of leds.
How's yours?
Also, V gesture to turn it on/off is dope!
It looks like only one led is on, but there may be two of them.

I would say that both should be working compared to what I can see on mine.
Thanks, I had to use another phone camera to actually check this because it is not easy and certainly not recommended with naked eye.
and two different types of leds, white and yellow, it is possible that white is dead for me hence yellowish light I get
Upon further investigation, Oppo support confirmed that Find X3 Pro is using one led light, not two. The other one you see on the left is light sensor.
