CN X2 Pro running Global ROM semi-successfully - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey, i've extracted the latest Global and CN ROMs and got my CN X2Pro working with Global system.img with few apps missing and some key features not working. Now i'm struggling to repack any vendor.img files bc of an error that's probably caused by some Realme tricks. Has anyone figured that out already?

I'm already working with both roms and my custom rom basically contains chinese vendor + global system. Firmware does nothing there.
To run modified system, you would need global based vendor but you obviously can't just flash global one so you need to modify it. However, I was unable to built any vendor even outta pure stock files. I already know what causes it but i can't fix it. Both vendors has euclid folder that consists outta 450mb of raw img files. I'm trying to convert em into any other img but unsuccessful so far.

Awesome. I hope this will work. I've aways wanted to shift to global from CN

I'm rooting for you a lot friend.

I hope you can, I would also love to change my CN to global, hugs

Did you manage to sort this out?

Support!
I don't know much about developing , but I am here to show my support. Wish we can flash a global from on to our devicecon day !

I am not on STOCK (LOS-UNOFFICIAL). Is there a way to flash C29 firmware and turn my CN device into a GLOBAL one?

No flashable firmware

Hey guys,
does anyone know the reason why there is no flashable firmware only zips for the Mi A2?
Any legal restrictions or something else I am missing?
Seems like the auto updater tool leaves the A2 out also.
Thanks

Hey, no sir, I mean the firmware only portion, not the whole ROM.
I'm just riddling why noone seems to wanna offer zip files only containing the firmware.
For many Xiaomi devices these exist and even are created in an automated process. But not for the A2.
Check:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/devices-xiaomi-firmware-updater-t3741446
Edit:
Oh boy, I'm just realizing it does exist for wayne and not for jasmine_sprout. Of course because wayne ships miui (d'oh!).
Still would be interesting to look whether it is possible to create these zips from android one ROMs..
I'll look into it.
Maybe because there is still no custom recovery supporting Pie encryption and fully compatible with A/B slots architecture ?
download comes with individual files that make up the fw, system, data, etc... as well as a script to flash to your phone.. so yes.. firmmware

Help! Need to revert vendors.

Hello XDA
Here's the history
Device - K20 pro Raphaelin
I had to install pixel experience. The OP suggested to install vendor 10.3.16cn. The chinese one.
I did. Also because the Indian vendor was throwing me into bootloops.
Chinese vendor although had minor issues, But was generally daily use material.
It was although showing compatibility error. But there was a workaround by editing a file with notepad ++
It was all hunky dory for a month, before I decided to upgrade to Android Q.
Decided on evolutionX 3.3 as it had the most activity and seemed plenty stable.
I followed the instructions and tried installing Indian Vendor, which threw up error 7. Incompatible zip
Tried global vendor. Which booted. But had a loss of functionality in the india specific payment apps. Tried china vendor and the same issues persisted, which weren't there when china vendor of pie was used.
Now, after changing vendors so many times, it seems a few more bugs have crept in.
So i thought going back to stock and starting fresh may solve the issue.
Downloaded MiFlash Tool, indian fastboot rom miui 11.0.3.
Flashed, and it failed because the rom was incompatible.
Can someone please help me.?
How do i revert to indian vendor?

Need help to change rom from global to eu ( for nfc purposes ) ( I'm a newbie )

Hi guys ! I have my k20 pro from 2019 and I never had access to any apps like netflix or mcdonals cause of some insecure software idrk to be honest. Anyways I want to use nfc and I actually can't . Did some research and just found out about eu rom might work but I'm new to this type of things and I need some help to flash the new rom and where to get it from .
These are some phone specs :
I have raphaelin ( aida64 )
K20pro 64 gb rom and 6gb ram
MIUI 12.0.5 Stable - Global rom
Model : M1903F11A
Kernel vers : 4. 14.117-perf-g97c1088
If someone can help I will be more than thankful !
My bootloader is unlocked btw but I don't have TWRP
where did u purchase your k20 pro from.
In India only 6-128 and 8-256 variants are there not 6-64 and also indian variant or model has no nfc.
As per phone codename raphaelin is indian device codename but how come u have 6-64gb model.
It doesn't matter whichever rom u install if ur device doesn't have nfc hardware it won't work and indian model has no nfc support...
I already found out it's 100% percent a Chinese device flashed with India rom. Now I need help to change it
OK, so just to clarify things to avoid future confusion.
Xiaomi label any MIUI version that is not Chinese as 'Global'. This is when you look in the about phone section and see MIUI x.y.z Global ROM. However this description covers 4 separate versions - India, EU/EEA, Russia and everywhere else (true Global).
In order to change region you need to flash the appropriate fastboot ROM. This is the official guide to flashing fastboot ROMs.
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
You will need to view the page in desktop mode on a mobile device, otherwise you'll just see a blank page.
The guide has download links for the latest versions for all devices, however it's probably easiest to find the ROM you want from here
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
Select the EEA fastboot ROM.
WARNING
You can not lock the bootloader of a Chinese phone when flashing a non-Chinese ROM. Trying to do this will hard brick the phone. See this from the official forums.
https://c.mi.com/thread-2584760-1-0.html
WARNING
The Mi Flash Tool default flashing option is to flash the ROM and lock the bootloader. If you do not pay attention when flashing you could easily hard brick the phone.
The Mi Flash Tool runs batch scripts contained in the ROM to flash the ROM. The easiest way to avoid bricking the phone is to manually delete the batch script from the ROM before running the tool.
In order to flash the fastboot ROM, it needs to be fully extracted. After extracting it browse the contents of the extracted folder. You'll see a bunch of .bat and .sh files.
Delete the flash-all-lock.bat and flash-all-lock.sh files before doing anything else. (Names of the files might not be exact but you'll know which ones I mean when you see them).
When running the Mi Flash Tool, before hitting the flash button, change the option at the bottom of the app to 'clean all'. If you leave it on the default option and you've deleted the batch scripts above then you'll only get an error that it can't find the batch file.
So now after updating to the EU ROM, you'll have NFC working, but you are still going to have a bunch of issues with financial and tap to pay apps. The security problems you've seen so far have not been around insecure software, but because the bootloader is unlocked, and this is still going to cause you problems. There is something called the SafetyNet test, within android, which fails when run on phones with an unlocked bootloader. Apps that care about security will call the test and fail to run if it fails. To get around these issues you will need to install Magisk. Currently Magisk can spoof the test to give a positive result.
You'll also need to setup Magisk to hide itself from apps that perform security checks before launching, such as financial apps.
Only download Magisk from the official source.

Question Chinese apps after converting from COS to OOS

Hi comm.
I've ordered my Extreme Edition in Panda White, which hopefully should arrive till end of the week, so I'm reading all the posts and threads about converting and so on.. Because there are a lot of users which unluckily have bricked their phones, before I start with main topic from the title, just to confirm some things before I start my own conversion:
What's needed:
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Fastboot Enhance Tool
- Desired ROM, EU/IN
Special to care about:
- Be sure all COW partitions are deleted before flashing / otherwise brick
- Be sure no unknown partitions are detected before flashing / otherwise brick
All good so far?
There are different models:
- NE2115, I suppose US market?
- NE2213, I suppose Global market, EU & IN?
What for models are out there? Can anyone list them all with an short description?
I think it will also help any other user too out there, just to be clear and prevent any missmatch during downloading and staging the ROMs.
So, and now to the main topic, I've read somewhere in one of the threads here and it was also confirmed by other users, after converting from COS to OOS and performing an Factory- Reset, that the Chinese apps are back again. They can be deleted/deinstalled directly over the settings/apps menu on the phone, but they are still there..
Did anyone here, an more experienced user or maybe an dev. have figured out from where they are comming and is there an way to get rid of them permanently?
Many thanks and best
Adnan

Hi Adnan
I started a thread on the locked apps a month or so back but basically got told I shouldn't buy Chinese phones and it was just to bad. I would also like to resolve the issue I thought of maybe flashing a euro fast boot recovery onto the phone because noticed even on euro rom the fast boot recovery text was still Chinese when I reset the phone. I did not attempt for risk of brick. I have have been waiting for someone with some knowledge to post a thread on this so I can fix so I will be watching this very closely. good luck

I suppose, that all the partitions, recovery, boot, system and so on, should be reflashed / overwritten when you flash with the Fastboot Enhance Tool and the Payload.bin file.
My device will arrive today, so I'll give a try..

I'm done with my conversion, so far, all good.. Chinese apps are there, after every factory reset, but they are all deinstallable.. Didn't find from where they are comming, but I suppose there are two variants:
- An hidden partition with Chinese apps
- An app which is provisoning the apps during the first setup wizzard
I think an DEV or so should take a look at it.
What I didn't try is, there is an offical rollback package on OnePlus comm. because of Android Dev. Preview, maybe flashing this one would remove the Chinese apps? Will try it out, otherwise everything was good, no problems at all.
I installed android 13 dev last night and used rollback, no Chinese apps yet will do a factory restore later I will post my results.

I also had the idea, but I can't install it, everytime I choose local update, it kicks me back to the about the device screen.. or do I need the APK for NA? But, I'm allready on the EU ROM, so it shouldn't be necessary?

Just done factory reset and no Chinese bloat hooray!! I used the OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk on oxygen updater app to install android 13/T Dev Preview after changing update method in settings the app. Then the rollback package with the OPLocal_For_Android12.apk to roll back. And which version of dev. preview did you use? EU or NA?
EU
I'm going to re-type
For this operation I used Oxygen Updater by adhira S. Chauhan from play store, and followed the instructions https://oxygenupdater.com/article/319/ to download and rollback the EU android 13/T Dev Preview
So finally I was able to get rid of all chinese apps, but an install of Dev. Preview wasn't necessary. I've downloaded the rollback package of A12 from OnePlus, then I rebooted the phone to fastbootd, and entered the recovery on the phone.
Then I flashed the Payload.bin file, and all was good. Since then, I did two factory resets, and both time, the phone was up without any Chinese stuff.

So it occurred to me that 9008 is EDL mode. A mode in which the phone can accept msm firehose restorations. I just want to know if modem firmware changes from the Chinese version to whichever variant (EU/global) you flash to

A bit to high for me right now, 9008 seams to be for an EDL mode, but as much as I know, for EDL mode we need MSM tool, which is still not out yet.. Also, have no idea what 9008 is, EDL mode OK, but EU, IN, NA? Version and so on.. The risk to flash something wrong and to end with an brick, where we currently don't have an option to unbick is just to high..

There isn't an OOS MSM anywhere for the 10 Pro that I have seen, only COS, and the COS MSM requires tech support to actually log in to be of any use.

How To Guide Chinese MIUI on Global phone models!

I came to this just by occasion while trying different things with the phone.
Please keep in mind that there were 4 testers, but only 2 successful installations have been reported. Please consider participating in testing
So, the instruction itself:
Download the latest china fastboot ROM
Download your preferred, but one of the latest Recovery global ROM (I recommend Taiwan)
From recovery archive, with the help of payload-dumper-go extract vendor partition:payload-dumper-go -p vendor payload_bin_or_recovery_rom
Flash China ROM, then reboot to fastbootd: fastboot reboot fastboot
Flash vendor: fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Flash patched vbmeta (you can find it yourself)
Now the system should boot just fine (dm-verity still may occur, but that's not critical)
How to OTA:
After the system prompts you for reboot, reboot into fastbootd: adb reboot fastboot and flash your vendor again, then flash pathced vbmeta
Problems:
On POCO, POCO launcher is being installed and it doesn't work. The fix is down this post
No Google services included, flash WeebGApps in Magisk. SafetyNet attestation WON'T WORK! AT ALL!
Everything else is working just fine (Camera, NFC, 5G)
POCO fix:
First of all, you have to enable USB debugging and installing apps via usb. Because the launcher is "blinking", you will have to get to developer options via quick settings. It might not work, so firstly get to any application from notification or quick settings button.
Once you've done that, install magisk via adb:adb install magisk.apk
Now you have to open it: adb shell monkey -p magisk.package.name (look for it in settings) -v 1
Patch boot image with magisk as usual and flash it
Open magisk again with the same method. Or flash via PC: adb push module.zip your/desired/location; adb shell; su; magisk --install-module module.zip
Flash P2Mi.zip
Reboot and enjoy

i could flash both latest MIUI 13 dev (13.0.3.1.13) and stable (V13.0.8.0.SKSCNXM) without doing anything from your thread
cams and nfc (didnt try 5G since i dont have coverage) work well
im not sure if for older MIUI versions you can just flash it without requiring any steps from the post

so i suppose flashing system.img china over could work?
