Media Resumption SystemUI force close - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

Like the title says, I'm getting on enabling Media Resumption a SystemUI force close. Only way to get out is booting into save mode.
Android 11 beta 1 received through OTA, tried changing dpi, font and display size, using power amp player
Any suggestions?

Nope, I'm having the same problem, using Omnia media player. I'm guessing it will be fixed in the next beta. So we will just have to not use it and wait.

I had the same thing happen I had to turn the feature off in safe mode to boot it up normally

Thx guys, yea, just gonna wait then

I've been using Media resumption without any issues. But I'm honestly not a fan of it. I like having it in the notification area as I can pause it and then swipe it away. If media resumption is on and I have opened more than one media player, I can long press on one of them in the pull down and it will close. But not both. It will go away only if I close the media app from the recents.

It's fixed, Poweramp got an update and it's working now

I've noticed I only get the crash when using the music player widget with media resumption turned on. I solved it by uninstalling Onmia music player turning on media resumption reinstalling Omnia and not placing the widget on my screen, so far not UI crashes. Was anyone else using a Media player widget?

headset control buttons

i am having problems with my stock headsets
the control buttons dont work at all.
i cant pause/unpause or change track while listening to music
i cant pick up or hang up a call either.
anyone facing the same issues?
any fixes?
Could be two things.
Do you use a task killer? Make sure you're not killing the required service or app.
If you have installed other music players they may have taken over the controls, to overcome this you can reinstall the stock music app or w/e your using.

i've had pandora, but issues still apply to pandora as well
i've wiped and tried the headset with the music player right after before installing any other apps, and still i have the same issues
Uninstall any media player app you have installed, it could be interfering with headset clicks.
Use default media player and enable headset controls in configuration.
Put the default media player widget on any of the main screens.
If it doesn't work yet. Try installing DroidShuffle and check again.
there's also an app on the market called fix headset controls or restore music controls.. something like that which restores the head phone buttons to original.

[Q] Music Player Autokill

Is it just me? The problem is the music player autokills itself without saving its play position, no matter if I use home or back buttons.
I hear music then press pause, home button (should only suspend the app), do something else... some hours later I want to resume playing music, but the player has gone to its initial state.
Am I doing something wrong?
Never had this issue (and I use it all the time) you can try another player like doubletwist or music
Firmware issue
I didn't have this issue with the shipped firmware (JF3). Now I'm on JPM but had this with all Froyo builds.
Player version is 1.1.1.
I don't want another player...

Skipping track with volume buttons

hello,
how does it work? I tried to activate it but it has some strange behavior. It works perfectly with winamp problem is that if I use another player even if winamp app & service are STOPPED if I try to skip track in lock mode it auto starts winamp that starts playing songs along with the current player!
So does it only work with winamp?
Works for me using Google Music player, you just hold the button for a few secs and it skips.
Do you have winamp installed?
No I don't.

Hello, how do you "activate" this feature ? Does it need a particular kernel or ROM ?
Thanks

LG Thrill Music Player issue? Read.

I usually use my music player under a constant use prior to NY avid obsession with last.FM. as of lately I've found myself in some situations, via Removing the battery which I don't have to do often, but my issue this time was me keeping my music player running for a few hours. After I viewed something off the net I came back to cancel out my song selection and the player was still 'active' in the notification bar. I had tried to open it from my Simi Folder and it would just go to a plain black screen and ask 'Force Close or Wait?' I'd gone with force closing it 2 times to reset it and see if it would load again, sadly it was reoccurring in the same issue. What the heck should I do? I'm lost. [ROOTED]

An update,
I've not reset the phone or anything.
The music player is still setting in the notification tab

Im not sure if I understand fully , but when I pause it and go to the notification bar , I then have the ability to close the music palyer off.
No, it was when I had kept the player on for about 2h Max it had began to act up when I went into the Music Player itself.
The stand alone player had Force Closed itself but if the Notification Bar were to be pulled down it'd show the Music Player Navigation still open, but you couldn't use it, via Fast Toward, Rewind & so forth.

Remove the stock music app

It seems that I can't disable the stock music app in the app settings. I wouldn't mind it being there, however it conflicts with every other music player.
For example when I listen music in Google Music, and I press the button on my headset I would expect that GM would stop playing music, but instead the stock music app starts playing.
Also on the home screen I can't control GM, just the stock app.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Root your device and either freeze it with titanium backup or while rooted just delete the. Apk

Thanks, I've removed it, and it's almost perfect. Now the stock music app can't interfere with other apps.
There is only one small issue left but I believe there is no solution for this: The music controls on the lock screen does not work. There is no music control widget, only the one included in the lock screen, which only controls the stock app (which is not removed, so it is useless)
Anyway, now at least I can control playback from my headset. Thanks.
My music controls work on play music and Poweramp when I deleted the stock music app. My issue is that the controls work but there is no album art which I hate.
