Sorry in advance if the thread is not the correct one and for my English.
I wanted to report that following the procedure to reactivate the "pocket mode" that you can find here, the ambient display and the double touch to wakes up, begin to be working always, even after several days that I enabled the function and without restarting the phone, it wakes up immediately.
I have no idea why Oneplus has disabled the "pocket mode" function, to avoid bugs and fix the problem with the ambient display and double touch, waiting for an official fix, I followed the procedure by reactivating the feature but I left the "pocket mode" off and, until now, everything works fine.
I have successfully tested the fix on my Oneplus 7 with Open Beta 15.
IMPORTANT: to carry out the reactivation of the "pocket mode" it is necessary to be rooted
Thank you for your information !
I made a magisk module for my device ( 7 Pro on OB15) to turn on the Pocket Mode option and everything worked !!

Caution, the feature_list file changes with the firmware release, I noticed that in firmware open beta 13, in beta 14 and in beta 15 it was different every time...

tried this one on a oneplus7 with OB15 and the phone didn't boot anymore, if it happens to someone else I just had to boot into twrp and manually delete the module under " /data/adb/modules/" then rebooted normally

This is how it is described in the beta 16 firmware changelog but it really doesn't seem to me that it still works as it should work ... the awakening is not always immediate.
For me, the fix proposed in this thread is still the best choice ... it's just a personal opinion
same issue once
lol i had the same issue with them , i had to turn off double tap to wakeup feature than only my ambient display would work so i guess O.O.S has some unresolved bugs.

Now I can say that with the two latest versions of the open beta firmware, it seems to work fine.
If you are still not satisfied with how it works, with the mod of the feature_list file, as reported in the first post, the situation improves a lot
I finally find myself sharing my bug! [emoji37] For several betas, stable EU and global that the double tap to wake up + facial does not work for me, which for me is the best way to activate the terminal.
I did not understand why with PIE it works perfectly? Pocket mode! [emoji3061] And I have tried everything like installing fastboot or msm Dowland versions, which is the closest thing to leaving the factory and at first clean it always works but when I install everything, it stops working ... [emoji2357]
With beta 18 it was animated and with b19 it works at 80% ...
I would like to activate with the line that is mentioned in the 1st post, xr I don't understand where it should be put? I suppose that with root and a file manager with permissions go to the path:
system/etc/feature_list*
And leave like this?
system/etc/featureName: OP_FEATURE_ENABLE_POCKETMODE_SWITCH
..... And leave the line like this?? I understand that .... then you can remove root and close bootloader without losing the line?
Cheers

You have to edit the feature_list file, I act at the end of the file by editing the text in this way,
from so:
},
{
"featureName": "OP_FEATURE_MM_ULTRASOUND"
}
]
to so:
},
{
"featureName": "OP_FEATURE_MM_ULTRASOUND"
},
{
"featureName": "OP_FEATURE_ENABLE_POCKETMODE_SWITCH"
}
]
Be careful to follow the correct syntax and spacing as per stock file!
To do this, you need root privileges, a file manager that allows you to act on system partitions and a text editor. I recommend extracting the file, editing it on the PC and then returning it to the smartphone, then replace the stock file and the correct permissions must be assigned.
Once your smartphone has restarted you should be done.
If once you have made the change, you lock the bootloader, the phone is wiped attention.
Honestly no idea if the change survives a reset, i never tried
Cheers

Sure,
I am attaching the feature_list extracted from Oneplus 7 Pro OxygenOS Open Beta 19 firmware, modified by adding the string necessary to enable the "Pocket mode" feature.
It is important to know that this feature_list file changes with each firmware release so it is not possible to use it universally on all versions of OxygenOS, it is good that it is used as a reference to edit what you use on the your firmware.
I compressed the file to be able to upload it into the thread, IT IS NOT A FLASHABLE FILE, it must be extracted and copied manually, assigning the correct permissions to the file.
If you want to use the attached file, remember that it only works on Oneplus 7 Pro with Open Beta 19 firmware, if you want to add the "pocket mode" feature on other firmware, you have to extract your "feature_list" file and modify it as explained in the article and using my file as a template . I repeat this file is different on each firmware and is different in each Oneplus phone model (changes based on hardware features).
Don't forget that if the file is not edited correctly or you use a file extracted from a different firmware than the one you are using, you risk bootloop!
DO EVERYTHING AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Thread closed on request of OP @dianoandr as the OP doesn't possess the device any longer!

Hello !
I have some question, hope that you can help me.
1. I want to install the Xposed module but i want to knw if it's stable on the Mi Mix ROM.
I'm asking that because i came from a Xperia Z Ultra and the Xposed module wasn't that stable...
2. I want to change of ROM, how can i perform a clean install and kepp my actual apps, is there a way ?
ANNEXE : I encounter some issue on my Xiaomi eu ROM, hope you can help me to find something
Here is my problem :
1 - The first one is my fingerprint sensors works 1/2 on the lockscreen, it's like that since the stable update of the 14 jun 2017. You need to know that the fingerprint sensor works well for unlocking app and else..
2 - The research function doesn't work at all, I have an error (cf : video). whatever the choices that i make the problem will still the same...
Can you please help me ??
Best Regards,
LordBli
Sorry, I wish I could help. I to want to root my device so that I can flash custom roms too, but I've all but given up on that. I don't know why you mean though, when it comes to your second question -
"The research function doesn't work at all, I have an error (cf : video). whatever the choices that i make the problem will still the same..."
Xposed works great on MIUI 8 (8.5) (Android 6)
If u want keep MIUI or change ROM to pure android :
Universal method >
1 - Titanium backup 'but need some permissions for MIUI to works and need confirm manually for each apps who will be restored (MIUI and AOSP/LOS)
MIUI specific >
2 - MIUI integrate a similar function in backup/restore item in settings under factory reset (work like a charm too and no action is required > MIUI only)
Both store backuped elements in internal storage then u can easily clone it on ur desktop !!!

Without additional information, it's quite difficult to assist.
Firstly, you came from the Z Ultra. I too purchased the Mi Mix to replace my Z Ultra, with its stock firmware being stuck on MM and the aftermarket support not being brilliant the Mix was a suitable choice. However I had no issue with Xposed on my Z Ultra, perhaps your choice of Xposed modules was the problem???
If you haven't unlocked your bootloader, then you need to do that first. Bear in mind, once unlocked you will lose all android pay functionality.
Which Mix do you have...? Mine is the 6GB/256GB variant, and certain system modifications only work on the specific versions.
Have you flashed TWRP, if so which version?
In answer to your first problem - remove all fingerprints and re-add them. On some of the stock miui.com firmware releases, it doesn't migrate fingerprint information correctly.
In answer to your second problem - you *should* try running the current weekly release from xiaomi.eu:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi.../files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-WEEKLY-RELEASES/7.7.20/
If you are running *stock* firmware, you *will* need to factory reset.
-----
With regards to your "research" problem, I assume you mean the global search from the phone (If this is not the case then let us know what you mean).
Again, I've not experienced issues searching the phone since changing to the xiaomi.eu (weekly) global firmware which is based on Android 7.0 however Xposed support is minimal.
If you want to change firmware, unless you change to the same build structure then you won't be able to keep your current data.
e.g. stock miui.com firmware to xiaomi.eu firmware.
In this situation, root and titanium backup is your friend.
Thanks for your answer, it is really helpful !

The only change I would personally use on a mi-globe firmware would be the three-way reboot menu, however that can be substituted with an application.
IMHO, I don't see any real reason to use "their" firmware as all they're doing is tweaking an already good release by an established team of developers

Any ideas for the fingerprint issue ?
Final edit: I stopped maintaining this thread. I don't recommend you to use this rom anymore, it is outdated and generic and there are plenty of P roms to chose from now.
I recommend you guys to move to for instance NOS, Omni or PE.
At first I would like to say, this is NOT for everyone. If you are a total newb don't do this. Read through this post before starting to make things clear for yourself.
The ported Android P semi GSI is still highly experimental, don't expect a stable daily driver and do expect to encounter issues. Hardware wise everything seems to be working though (sorry Indians, no VoLTE)

Hi There Everyone!First a brief: I've been a longtime XDA user, but never found the need to create an account. Now, I bought a Redmi 6 and I'm really disappointed by the development:crying:, so I thought i'd chip in a bit I don't have permission yet, so I posted this here.
As you know, till now there are NO Custom ROM's available. This is really sad, and I can't live with MIUI. So I decided to give GSI (Generic System Image) ROM's a try.
And guess what? They work! I tried installing Lineage OS 15.1 on our cereus. The rom is really fast and smooth. Here's what I found:
Working:
Wifi
Bt
Camera
Vibration
Sound
Finger Print
Bugs:
SIM detected, but no range found. RIP calls/sms/data. Looks like a problem with the raido's.
Headphones don't work
I couldn't test hotspot and gps.
Even though there is a bad bug, it still works surprisingly on this MediaTek SoC with no drivers / kernels. All we need is a little paching and we should be good to go!
Give it a try. Ill post guide on how to do this later. For now, i'm using miui cuz i wanna make phone calls

Yes, we know. We tested this long time ago, there are pretty long discussions in twrp thread comments
What about finger print reader?

I know, and I've read through all that. They are all buried inside TWRP threads, and not everyone knows about GSI. I made this so people know, and I'm also going to make an other thread with instructions on how to flash a GSI rom for our Redmi 6 soon (It's a little tricky getting TWRp to work and all...)

It works! Sorry, I forgot to mention that - added it now :good: Btw, even though it works, it isn't as accurate and as fast as MIUI.

I meant to say good job about putting this all together. Nice.
I just randomly remembered when i was trying this ROM some time ago. Headphones doesn't work.
(Adding this to post would be ideal)
Edit: It could also be the Pixel Experience ROM. But i don't remember.

Thanks! I tried LOS again, and I can confirm that headphones don't work. Added that to the post:good: Btw, do you know any GSI ROMs for Cereus that can actually make calls and work well?

All i tried was LOS and Pixel Eperience. Both are same, except PE has Android 9.0. I tried treble RR, it had really cool logo while booting, and i was really excited for RR because i never tried it. But i never made it to boot. Boot logo is looping infinitely and i tried fresh installing (With MiFlash clear) about 10 times.
Edit: Maybe if you would want to, you can give it a try https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...0-resurrection-remix-v7-0-arm64-32-b-t3891636
Edit: I didn't understand most of it, but i could start adb logcat while booting. From all i could understand, all apps were dying and restarting all over.

Omni rom, android 9, works pretty good, no major bugs.

Yep, only USSD is broken by default. See 11) on screenshot.
Calls/sms works out of box.
Don't know about volte since my carrier doesn't support it.

Seems that mtk ussd fix breaks something on other phones. So, this is flag to enable it.
------
Ahh, you mean how to append?
Open /system/build.prop file with text editor that has root access, add line to end, save file, reboot.
Or you can do this via adb/terminal emulator:
1) su
2) echo persist.sys.radio.ussd.fix=true >> /system/build.prop

Oh my bad. By the way I'm going to install this rom and I'll see if that line fixes ussd. Then we'll have a probably fully functional rom for the redmi 6. ****ing finally. It's about time.

It doesn't work for me. Same as every single other GSI rom.
Looks like we have Pie now, no one talking about that it seems. But latest beta came with Android 9.0, I believe. With Dark Mode in Display settings, pretty good.
Also noticed the update. However, I'm quite hesitant at first due to earlier info's that states recruitment is suspended for pie update. How's the update btw? Is there any bugs that might affect a normal day to day usage? Planning to install this rom. Tnx in advance!

Yeah, I though it was weird a swell since they told that they cancelled pie update for 6A, but still, we got this... Everything working perfectly, for me at least...

I'm using it since the day it was released, no major issues. Didn't notice any bugs. Battery life is pretty good as well.

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated
Is there any link where we can get the update?
https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-6-redmi-6a-alpha-builds-android-pie/
I tested it, it made my phone run slower and kill background apps. I see no real benefit in updating. The only new feature i noticed is the dark mode.

Does this ROM have AOSP Pie features, like Dashboard, Digital Wellbeing, AI Brightness and Battery, Copying text from Recents screen previews, etc. ? I'm talking about THESE features. Does it have these?

You extract the folder inside the .tgz file then use mi flash tool to flash it.
It didn't have any update, and it doesn't have any new function except for the dark mode.
I installed stock rom rom again because the phone was running slow and killing background apps too frequently.
Need tester
To test the beta rom, xiomi needs beta tester for redmi 6a. Search Google with "redmi 6a pie beta update". I can't paste the link here for restrictions

i wanted to try it and eventually rollback to Oreo : but i can't !
So be careful, cause there are some bugs that make it difficult to use as a daily driver.
For example, brightness is very very low and it's hard to see anything under the sun, hotspot security is useless (makes you hotspot opened)...
I try to flash many other Oreo global official roms without success using mi flash tool. Though it says ok, it's always the same rom that boot (android 9).
Tried to flash twrp , but every version i installed boots on an snowy strange screen (like old tv without canal).
So be careful if it's the only phone you have.

Maybe try using ADB directly instead of MiFlash? Download the command line tools ZIP from here, extract it in the same folder with all the .bat files and execute flash_all.bat while phone is in flashboot.

already tried fastboot (not flashboot ) and it's the same result.
I will try to flash the boot.img i will modify with magisk.
Anyway, Thanks Spikyman :good:
No leak yet?!
Anyone try to install this system images with any GSI Rom? or with lastest MIUIPRO Rom? i will try when my PC already get fixed
..
Ive noticed this ROM doesn't seem to be listed on here anywhere but I've been running it for a few weeks now. The official build is on the AICP website with weekly updates that install perfectly through the built in updater. I hope the AICP team is okay with this post. If not, please remove.
It's not the most unique ROM out there but it is the best I've run out of every ROM I've tested on here, which is all of them. My first reaction to the pink background option for the daytime theme was "WTF" until I realized that it makes everything visible regardless of the level of sunlight or glare, and at the highest brightness puts no strain on the eyes.
Personally, I decided to switch kernels because the one built-in was geared towards battery life...like 36-48hr battery life, but otherwise this ROM is tough, reliable, the fingerprint sensor responds immediately, and everything works flawlessly. You can set separate themes for day and night, there's signature spoofing, a built in debloater to just click to remove any preinstalled package you don't need, and a selinux switch. Audio mods and magisk modules that have given me issues on all other roms work well on AICP. If you check the OnePlus 8 forums youll see the Thread for AICP there, and it will give you a fairly accurate idea of what to expect. The built in launcher is the best I've come across as well IMO.
For those who haven't tried it, check out Mull browser. It's a stripped version of Fennec with a great Sync feature and some good extensions. It's only available on Fdroid I believe. I was a dedicated Bromite user until I came across it about a week ago, and I never even liked Fennec...still don't.
Yes they started the update, but i don't know why they didn't inform about it in xda????

You'll get an update every week, just look in aicp extras, go to updates, click download and install but don't reboot. Then go to magisk assuming you're using it and click install to other slot. After you see Magisk finish patching the new stock boot image you can go back to the update section and click restart. I turn all of my modules off before I update and turn them back on when I'm done I haven't had any issues. The only place I can find any support regarding this rom was by joining Discord. Join the Aicp channel. I switched to MCD Kernel because I wanted a bit more performance. The battery life with the included Kernel was more than I needed! This ROM comes with aicp recovery so on a first-time Flash be sure you refresh TWRP or whichever recovery you're using.

So I went and read through the RTT docs. One way to make sure RTT is disabled is to remove it from the carrier configuration, lol. So I went and did just that:
UPDATE: So, I found a better way to do this that doesn't break everything else. You can go to /data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/files and edit the carrierconfig file there, mine was called carrierconfig-com.android.carrierconfig-89148000001882338238-1839.xml. Change the following line:
<boolean name="rtt_supported_bool" value="true"/>
becomes
<boolean name="rtt_supported_bool" value="false"/>
And reboot! After that, RTT shouldn't be a bother anymore. This is a bit of a hack, but it works! XD

Oh?! I used root explorer, then clicked on "R/W", then made the edit, saved. Root explorer then told me that it saved the original under a different extension. I can see the two files. Then, I rebooted and it stuck.
