when in android auto menu in google maps special you can see and have all your saved places shown up, but only those saved in the default "saved places"
but if you create a new goup / category in google maps and save some locations into it, it will not appear once android auto
it give you only the default saved group.
is there any way around it ? to be able all created categories and the saved places in each one ?

Ok so, Google Calender Supports Location (in the Where Field) which in the web interface shows up as a map.
But on the G1 it just displays the location as text, not a link to the maps app.
Is there a known way or work around without copying the data from editing the event and then pasting into the maps search (not the best solution)?
Thanks in advance
My wife's phone has mutilple contacts when she pulls up the list when sending a message. When I go into contacts or thru the dialer there are only one of each. Is there a way to delete the extra ones from the messenger list? Is there a way to tell what contact list they are stored in (phone, card, google)?
Ken
Contacts should have an icon next to them to show where they are stored.
Google will have a g
SIM will have a picture of a SIM
Phone has ???? (nothing stored to my phone)
To change what is shown, press Menu --> More --> Display Options and select your storage location there.
You could show them all and then delete out the extras.
Or link them all together. I just use google for all my contacts. Much easier.

Same here. I use google to store all mine because it restores automatically when I switch roms.
I do keep a copy on my sim for when I use a dumb phone. I don't want to take my cappy on top of the grain bin or in the tractor and chance it getting destroyed.
Hi all,
I was wondering if there was anyway to solve the following problem:
The contacts on my phone are synced with my Gmail contacts, I have a group called "Phone" in which all my contacts are stored.
On my phone, I have deselected everything except for the subgroup "Phone" which I created.
If I add a new contact on my phone, I can select that I want to save it to my google account, however one cannot select a subgroup.
So, I think it saves it by default to "Other contacts". The naturally it does not appear in my contacts list on my phone unless I select to sync that group as well.
Is there a way to change the default saving directory on the phone, or should I just move all my contacts to "Other contacts"?
Using Zues V3N, but this problem has been on the stock ROMs as well.
Thanks for any help.
Nevermind. Found the groups option when adding a new contact...
Didn't notice that before....
Someone is more than welcome to delete this thread if it is not useful at all
Hello all,
The recent update for Google Maps to 7.0.2 is really nice and has some nice features. But I'm wondering if anyone has noticed the impacts to their contacts/address book? I have my contacts addresses stored and when I select it, before the Google map update, it loaded in Google maps. After the update it loads only in my other GPS program, Co-pilot. I've gone to my apps and cleared the defaults for co-pilot and that doesn't make a difference. I've found a work around so far which is to search your contact in Google maps, but being able to load the address then navigate from the contacts/address book was a nice feature.

Greetings all,
I have an unlocked Note 9 (Model #SM-N960U1) I bought directly from Samsung that I use on the T-mobile network. I keep my schedules using Samsung's calendar app. When I attempt to add a location to my schedules more often than not the location can't be found. Apparently, my unlocked Note 9 is using "Foursquare" as Samsung's calendar maps search engine. Is there a way to remove Foursquare from my device, or at the very least select Google maps as the default for Samsung's calendar app?
You could always disable the app through adb commands
Clear Search
I haven't figured out how to get rid of "power by Foursquare" in the Samsung Calendar and make it go back to using Google Maps, but I did find a work around:
X out of the text in the SEARCH field
Select your current location from the list of pre-populated choices
It will let you switch from "Keyword" to "Address"
Then you can search for the address you really want
You should then be able to click DONE from the results
I prefer the Samsung Calendar widget since it has Transparency as an option but I guess I'll have to find a 3rd party widget that opens Google Calendar instead.
