Rooted but cant Unlock Bootloader? (Xperia E1 D2004) - Sony Xperia E1

i got this from a friend in Canada (i live in the states) was surprised i was able to get the SIM Unlock code but not sure how much more usefull past end of 2019 actuall cell service will be on this as 3G is shutting down by providers in my area by Jan 1st 2021). I Managed to root it Easily (Towelroot/Kingoroot)but notice theres custom roms avilable for this aging phone./ ( wouldnt even use this for everyday use, i have a galaxy A20 as my daily driver as it were,)
Going thru the Service menu, and looking at options it does sadly show the bootloader is in an "No" state for unlocking. Is there a means to force this so i can flash TWRP&LineageOS?

You can unlock bootloader only using fastboot and unlock code. To get unlock code visit

Unbranded from 3 network (bootloader unlock allowed no)

I recently bought the Xz on the 3 network (uk) and straight away wanted to get on aosp but this was shortly lived when my bootloader unlock status said no!!! Arghhh!!!
After moving from the HTC one X this was a massive disappointment as I loved the IceColdJelly Rom from Lord.
So I started to look into how to get around this and came across a solution online saying you need to network unlock the device officially from your network operator this would then change the bootloader unlock allowed status to yes.
Great but I cannot get this yet as 3 state you need to be over 1 month into the contract witch I sadly am not.
I then done a bit of thinking and wondered if I managed to get onto the official unbranded software from Sony via an official method I may be able to get round it.
To do this I:
Rooted for locked bootloaders
Installed twrp for locked bootloaders
Installed one of the roms for locked bootloader (353?)
Then plugged my phone into the computer and started up the Sony update software and this gave me the option to update my phone to the latest 434? Software (something I couldn't get while on the branded stock rom)
So update done I reset the phone from within settings and preyed my bootloader unlock allowed status had been changed from no to yes. But no it hadn't .
So what's the point of this post?
Well I'm sharing my way of getting the latest update from Sony officially if anyone would ever want to do it that way.
But also I'm opening this thread to discuss if anyone had unlocked their network limitations and found that it changed the bootloader unlock allowed status.
Thank you for your time
Hi.
I renewed my contract with Three and got the XZ, and like you was hoping it had the unlockable bootloader. I knew I had the contract I needed anyway and was prepared to do whatever I had to do if the bootloader was properly locked. In the end the only thing I could do was get rid of the phone and buy one that was Sim free and bootloader unlockable. I bought it from Phones for you and checked the bootloader status before I handed over any money.
When I had my "old" XZ, I put it up for sale and in the hope of getting it sold easier I had it sim-unlocked by Three and I flashed UK unbranded firmware. As expected, unlocking the Sim and flashing unbranded firmware did not change the bootloader status.
In short, the only way to run something like CM is to sell your blower and buy one with a suitable bootloader.
Ah well that sucks surely it's not down to the carrier to impose these limitations apon the end user? There must be a way around this even if it is contacting Sony, surely if I the owner of my phone want to. Unlock my bootloader it's for me to decide, not the middle man.

Would I be able to update after doing network unlock?

Hello,
I'm with Rogers right now and switching over to videotron. Phone is locked with Rogers. Would I be able to do the Marshmallow update once I switch over to Videotron?
or I'll be stuck with whatever I have on the phone right now?
TIA

there are following ways to unlock these phones
1. Root phone and unlock with unlocking boxes ( no $$, if you have box)
2. buy the codes from websites online and unlock it. [works 99% of time]
3 ask rogers to unlock it [safest way, but you should not OWE any money to rogers, it costs more money than step 2]
if you go by step 2, then depending on the modem and security version your phone will not accept the 'unlock code' , then you will get stuck with your unlock code and $$$, so to make that code work you have to ROOT phone, but that might break your warranty ( I am not sure about warranty search forums)
so bottom line if you root you dont get OTA update, but you can flash 6.0.1 by ODIN.

I replaced the motherboard and T-mobile unlocking code not working

Hey, after update (1 year ago on Jan) my SM-N910T started to freeze and restarting. So I decided to buy same unit but with broken screen. I replaced the motherboard and since that broken phone wan't unlocked need to unlock it. I asked the previous owner to contact T-Mobile for the unlock code (IMEI was right). He sent me the unlock code that T-mobile has provided him but the phone says it's incorrect. (I did it with non T-mobile simcard)
1. What do you think the web pages that provide sim unlock codes for $$$ would send different one?
2. I Made factory reset data from a prev user with his Samsung account signed. So it was locked on startup. I bypassed reactivation lock may it be the purpose why it says T-mobile unlock code won't work?
3. Is there a way to see how many input unlock code attempts I have?
4. How to check o'm on official firmware? (or since I get T-mobile updates via wi-fi it's official)
any suggestion why this happens?
He had to of given you the wrong code?......if you want to pm me I'll give you info on someone that dose it remotely on you laptop or pc for a lot cheep er then anyone elts...also dose frp unlocking

xperia z1 c6903 cant unlock bootloader

good afternoon, I have a problem with my xperia z1 c6903 when unlocking the bootloader I get a message that says your phone can not be officially unlocked that I should thank.
Apparently Sony has blocked the ability to unlock the bootloader on certain devices.
This is most likely the case if you got your phone from your carrier. Do you have a branded Z1?
You can also look up if this is the case by doing the following:
1. Open dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Go to Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status.
3. "Bootloader unlock allowed" should say Yes
If it doesn't, then at least the official way of unlocking your device won't work.
Any "not official" way to unlock the bootloader? Mine is locked too and i want to install something new in that old one. Thanks in advance.
Mine says not posible but i read somewere that can be done
That's the thing, is an old smartphone today, i don't understand why only certains models can be unlocked. Now im on last oficial os (5.1.1). I get it root but i cant unlock the bootloader in any way.

Unlock bootloader allowed from NO to YES after waranty end

Hi i just had the strangest experience and i would like to know if it possible such thing.
I had a contract Z5C to Vodafone 2 years ago. In this time every-time i accessed the service menu i had a network lock and option Boot-loader unlock allowed to NO and adb unlock command would allways fail.
I went to a Sony store last year and they said that after i network unlock it, the option will become YES (for boot-loader).
Now the fun stuff :
I finally got from Vodafone the unlock code but big surprise : My phone is already network unlocked and the Boot-loader unlock allowed is YES, so at this point the code received from Vodafone is useless.
The only thing i can think of is that it automatically unlocked at the end of the warranty (expired on 26 last month). So is this possible? to automatically network unlock after warranty end?
P.S.: This evening, once i`m home, i will try again to unlock the boot-loader (i already backed up the DRM keys by downgrading using yoviroot last year).
