Hi guys,
I am writing to understand if I am the only one experiencing the problem.
I updated this afternoon after receiving the OTA notification, checking the update's news, I notice with deep regret that the night mode of the camera no longer works.

I'm having the same problem. Update was 10.1.0.126 - night mode keeps crashing. Any solutions? Or did you have to just restart multiple times before it came good again??
I have tried clearing camera cache, camera data, system cache and reset camera - all to no avail.
Suddenly 2 days now this problem appears to multiple devices in my region, (not the fresh 10.1 updated only). Common solution was just a restart.
Still no resolution for me. I have restarted multiple times and no help. Huawei support suggests I do a factory reset but this is always a hassle... If anyone has any further luck with solutions let me know...
I did manage to reboot into safe mode and it worked which means some third party app is causing the problem is that right?
I did factory reset after the update, but i have this night mode issue too. It works a couple of times after a restart but then again the same. 10.1 is worst than a beta.

So the factory reset didn't work for you?
At least that saves me from trying it. It's such a hassle to reinstate all the apps and data...
Yeah wish it hadn't updated to this version.
Ok, I tested NE and old p30 pro with 123 update, done several photos, all working fine, but I must say that I was waiting for official update, not force it, hope this helps little..
Can confirm night mode stopped working after 10.1.0.126 OTA update. Have cleared cache and deleted data, something is keeping it from working properly.
I have noticed if I switch off Auto in Night mode for ISO and S, it works fine. Once you switch it back to Auto, crash.
Was working fine before the update.
Solution. We'll sort off...
Go to apps and force stop Facebook and night mode will work again. Once you launch Facebook again it will stop. It's only a workaround for now until they fix the issue.
Hope this helps some of you...

Confirm Night mode works again with Auto mode for ISO and S with Facebook force closed.
I also had my first crash on nightmode running 10.1.0.123 however it's only happened the once. Been okay since.
It's Facebook that's the problem. Read my post above....
I've now installed the Facebook version on huawei app gallery(little older) and all works fine. Just don't update Facebook on playstore just yet until another update.
Thanks Chris.

Yep, confirmed this works for me also. Installing the older 276 version of Facebook from Huawei App Gallery fixed this.
Thanks!

Thanks so much Chris. Yes I also found out by deduction that it was facebook. I booted in safe mode and found the night mode was ok so it had to be a third party app that was causing the problem. Then I went back to my photos to see the last taken night mode shot which was a few days ago. Then went to the google play store to find out which apps had been updated in the last few days and Facebook was one of them. After deleted facebook night mode finally worked.
Thanks everyone for the confirmation. I now installed the facebook app from the Huawei App gallery as suggested above and all is working for now... Hope Huawei or Facebook fixes the problem eventually though.
Appreciate all the help here!
I have reached out to Huawei's central technical service center in China, they are quite responsive so far. Will be in touch with any updates.
Very weird bug! I'm in P40 Pro with the same problem. I just installed the older Facebook version of 25 June from apkpure and not from 3 July and everything works fine!

Adfree does not block Ads on my TP and I have no idea what to do to fix it.
I have updated the hosts file and it says success you may need to reboot etc, but after a reboot the ads are still there.
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times trying to get it to work but no joy so far.
I am currently running the official 0522 nightly but Adfree has never worked no matter what rom i have installed.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.
I stopped using adfree a long time ago, mainly because of this(not blocking anything). I started using Adaway and it works perfectly.
I second AdAway. I've been using it for a while on my phone and it works great.
Thanks for the heads up, AdAway works nicely, it helps to stop my browser from constantly crashing and force closing without any warning.
Now if I could just figure out a way for the browser to remember to keep me logged in to certain sites like this one. Each time i leave the site I have to re log in. It didn't used to do that with the Alpha version. But on the nightlies it won't remember. The only plus to that is it does remember my user name and pw and enters it into the fields so all i have to do is is tap the logon button. It gets sort of cumbersome after a while when you use a site like this all the time though.

Well, I haven't had this problem with the chrome beta, but the only problem with it is that they've yet to give the ability to use flash player with it.
If I have to come here, I use the XDA Premium app. But that's just me. Chrome remembers most of what I need for most of where I go, and where it doesn't, it does the same - plugs in the username and pass for me.
Do any of you guys have this app that I can download directly. (Not through the market) Every time I try to download it I get this message.

Not sure what the rules are on posting apk's that are not mine here on XDA but I do know where you can get the apk. The developer posted it on several places. This is one of them.

Thanks guy. Your right searching is great, I finally went out and did that myself earlier. I have just been to busy to do it and thought if someone had the apk they could just send it over. Had that done quite a few times on xda. I appreciate all your help though.

Hello,
Im getting pesistant notifications to update my Moto X to 140.44.3 which has the KK update.
1. How do I stop these? They keep showing up every 5 mins!
2. If I download will I be prompted to install (like the Nexus for eg.) Or will it auto install the update after downloading? I was thinking the notifications to install would be less pestering.
Is your phone stock? Rooted? Unlocked?

I get them too. If you're rooted you could freeze the apps causing the update nag with Titanium Backup. If not rooted, just stopping those apps doesn't seem to help. It's just become part of my morning routine to reschedule the nag by 23 hrs 58 min into the future.

But does downloading the update necessarily mean installing it? I mean if you choose download the update, will the phone automatically install the update without prompting the user again?
If you download it you will continue to get notifications to install. Your best bet is to either take it or root and freeze the updater.apk
Root - Titanium Pro - MotorolaOTA

I do not know how to prevent the notifications if you don't have root. Once you have root, if you get Titanium Backup Pro, you can freeze apps. I froze the app called MotorolaOTA and the notifications went away. Freezing the updater app did not get rid of the notifications for me.

Came across this thread searching so figured I'd post this here for future searchers. Long press the System Update notification and click "app info". Force stop MotorolaOTA, and you can disable the notifications there, as well. Doesn't seem to be a way to disable the app entirely, at least without root, and it starts back up on its own eventually. Hopefully the notifications will stay gone, though. Looks like it still updates in the background after it starts back up, but hopefully the nags to install will go away.
*Nope, doesn't stop the install nags. Must be some other service involved.
I accidentally installed the update and bootlooped my phone... I can fix it but it's still annoying.
Always backup your stuff...
Using Nexus 5 as my backup phone for now till I fix my moto X.
Hey if you click download you WILL still be reminded to finish the update. I chatted with a rep and this update is persistent and mandatory! & on purpose from chatting with the moto rep. Picture is below.
Other option apparently is buy a new phone lol. Since you're reading this on XDA it isn't a huge deal considering we all know how to work around such things.

I'm still really confused as to why you wouldn't just update to 4.4 when your phone is completely stock...
Well, if you want to freeze the updates, you need to either have root, or get a signed motorola img without the update, and flash that. Either way, your modifying something, so your not going to get out of doing that. There is no setting that I am aware of to turn off the notifications. Just update. The battery life isn't as bad as they are saying, and I haven't noticed any broken features. 4.4.2 is already out for t-mobile and is coming out for the other carriers soon so just update. If you can't stand it, enjoy knowing that your going to have a better version very soon
There are reports of volume issues after the update. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And none of the updates listed apply to my phone. Battery life has been fine, I don't use MS Exchange, and I've not found the need to print from my phone yet. The only issue I do have, besides the wallpaper zooming after every reboot, is bluetooth volume control doesn't work on Win8.1, though it works fine on my desktop with Win7. Volume control works on both machines with a Galaxy S4, so I've at least narrowed down to the phone.
Anyhoo, I just did a factory reset trying to fix the BT issue (with no luck), and so far haven't gotten another notification about updating. Have only had the phone 2 weeks so may not be an option for other people, just throwing it out there.
ROOT ONLY. Install Disable Service from the play store. It's free. Find MotorolaOTA and disable all the services under it. Reboot your phone. Done.
I don't recall which of the OTA screen it was, but you should notice that there's a time on it. If you click the time (it's not highlighted or boxed, so not obvious) you can enter a new time, which is when it will remind you. Mine somehow defaulted to the current time and I got stuck in the OTA screen until I noticed you could click the time and change when it next alerts you.
i have issue with my note 5 - n920c - in some of apps top back button/menu button not working sometimes
i make full factory reset towice but still same, when restart my device the issue gone and back again.
i cant use select all in conntacts app and in photos app when i have this issue

hi,
there is a similar thread or 2 about this issue "here somewhere"
(I have posted a reply in one thread)
I also have this issue now or again. (very seldom) mostly with Play store.. back button.
I suspect it could be some software " bug"
Reason ... .( I had this similar
issue with my Note 8.0... same time/peroid when it happens on my Note5.)
So my opinion is its either Play store.. /software.. Rom related.. ? and not hardware etc.
Good luck

Guys any news about this issue ???
Me too' I have the same issue with my n920c. It's random. Please someone tell us if they have a solution for this problem because it seems that there is no solution in samsung side for now.
I have the SM-N920V. I have noticed the same problem, but it only happens when I have rebooted within the previous 5 minutes. Therefore I feel as though it is a software issue because some sort of component had not yet finished loading from the boot. Is this the case you folks have found?

My wife has this issue on her LG V10. Turned out the Facebook messenger app was the cause. Not sure how or why, but since I have uninstalled it the issue has stopped. This has been the case for a few others in the V10. Thought I would share this as it may or may not work for you.

I have reinstalled the messenger app and it returns. Please don't think this is the only fix. I do believe this is a software issue on multiple platforms, just think messenger apk does something to trigger this bug. I thought i had fixed this problem after setting Gmail as my default email but alas no.
The only way to recieve emails is when i pick the phone up and unlock the screen.
When the phones screen is off no emails are recieved.Whatapp and Text work ok.
Gmail is set to sync its the default in advanced settings. Its not even listed in protected apps so i cant turn that on.Im not sure if its the phone or marshmallow just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this.

Personally i dont trust the phone anymore to deliver messages so im looking to a Xiaomi Mi5.
Ive downloaded the Inbox app that has restored notifications.... or i thought it did FFS.
Apparently the Nexus 6P suffers this bug too.

Rolled back to Lollipop, notifications are back. For anyone else that want to do the same follow this guide.

Tap in dialer:
*#*#2846579#*#*
That worked and im back on B200 Lollpop 5.01
cool, thank you for that as I was still looking for a way back to lollipop
Interesting if Nexus 6p has it as that huawei built, assume they doing something off with standby app handling in kernel & it should of been resolved many devices ago.
Unsolved ssues like this is killing huawei's sales & brand image.
If devices had been more popular in rom development all these flaws would of been fixed by the unofficial rom & kernel masters lol

Apps closing after upate
Hello
Please let me know if you have any similar issues like this case below:
After opening and playing a game for few minutes, the game close. This happened with many games. It only occurred after installing that latest update and this was the only problem I have not only with games but all apps in general

Someone with similar issue told me he fixed it by applying factory rest. I haven't tried it becasue i need to backup my device first and I dont have time for that

hmm, I am a fan of MobileLegends MOBA. Play everyday and I dont encounter such issue after the update B162. The only issue is GPU tends to underclock so much that game frame rates during battle are quite unbearably slow.
Maybe try to wipe cache and see first.

I will give this a shot
However, until now and even though I have this exact update B163, I am still having the force close problem
I have the same issue, can't download anything from the app store, there's often a couple of hours of delay. I would click the download button and it would show downloading, but nothing would happen. I'll leave the phone over night, and when I wake up it would have installed the app.
This also happens with imgur. I try to download an image, but nothing happens, then afer a few hours I would get a notification that the image is downloaded.
It seems they are aggressively closing background task responsible for downloading, to increase battery time.
But it's not working, I'm stills getting around 2-3 hours of screen on time
Cache was cleared more than 1 GB

The problem is still there. I guess I need to wait for the new update to come. I hope it will not take long but for now I will contact Huawei support
Disable Chrome
Hi, the constant force close is caused by chrome update, roll it back to v56 or disable it and it all works fine. I did the reset but as soon as i updated chrome to v61 force closes started. My phone is good now. I actually bought this phone yesterday and updated as the notification came.
