So ...today i decide update my mi8 from lineage os 16 to 17.1 .
before jump to 17.1 i go to setting and download one update of lineage os 16 that i have there and go to twrp to install , when i slide i got an error saying that i need mi firmware superior to 9.6.20 (something like that) , so i look and download the firmware V10.3.5.0 because was the most recent for android 9.
go twrp and install the firmware and after reboot the problems start. mobile restart , mi logo , LOS animation and after a minute reboot and go twrp and stay like that .
so i decide download de 17.1 and install it.
i got stuck on LOS animations for while and after a factory reset on twrp the phone finally boot.
When i start using the phone i start getting some weird stuff.
- if i go gallery its say " no storage. no external storage available"
- if i go camera say " insert an sd card before start using the camera"
- all folder are encrypted
i try different twrp to resolve the encrypted folder and nothing, plus i lost all my data and at any point i chose wipe all data.
anyone can help me ? im googling for 4h and nothing
Did you format data ?
Not wipe, I mean format.
Otherwise backup your data and format.
Clean install
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi 8)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install MIUI Q based firmware
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)

Hi
Today I get my OnePlus 3T. So I did that, what I do with any new phone = TWRP and Root. So I...
1. Boot, download and install Oxygen OS 4
2. Fastboot unlock bootloader, flash TWRP (latest official build)
3. Reboot in TWRP and TWRP ask for password (never set any password for this phone, nothing! just start without sim and set nothing, only wifi for the first step)
4. Download SuperSU .zip and try to root - 0MB when I try to install SuperSu
5. TWRP > Wipe > Format data
6. Reboot and now I see (when I click on install) internal Storage (52100 MB). After that (dont flash SuperSU) just boot in TWRP
7. With OTG and USB stick I flash Oxygen OS 4.0 (full ROM with 1,4GB) > phone just reboot in TWRP.
When I go to
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > check Internal Storage > click on Repair or Change File System I get "invalid partition selection"
This also happen, when I check Dalvik/ART Cache. With System, Data and Cache no problems.
I have no idea what I can do. Over Google I only find some thread from Huawei and Samsung device, something with PIT file. Nothing to OnePlus (not One, not Two and not Three).

This question seems to keep repeating itself due to missing information on TWRP post about the latest official version being incompatible with OOS 4 encryption method, but that is the explanation. There is a beta release of TWRP in post 550 in that thread that is supposed to fix this.
Here's some spoon feeding for you
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3507308
Lookup post numbered 550 and it has a link to the unofficial TWRP update
What to do? Boot in beta1 and looks like the same... can flash OOS 4 but still the same problem.

I would like a help, so I'm trying to install the rom via mi flash, but not installing the rom, it's in 500sec and nothing to complete the installation, luckily I was able to install via TWRP, however when I try to update via Android OTA 10 I get stuck in the bootloop.
need more info.
You installed Twrp I assume over the stock rom?
if so boot into TWRP and format user data. ( note this wipe completely erase the phone. but you have no choice it must be done. if you have files that you want on the phone, see you can access them via Windows explorer and copy them over to your desktop.
Basic Instructions
FORMAT /data partition (Important Never Ever Wipe System Or Persist!)
Copy our ROM to the internal storage or use external USB drive ( must choose which device to install from in twrp)
Install ROM, and anything else depending on rom if needed such as gapps
Reboot to recovery
Reboot to system and setup

Now I managed to install the rom with Android 10 global, but the region is only in China, I can't change it and this one without facial unlocking.

I believe that @Agimax has a flashable mod on his stable page for changing regions, that seems to be a bug with the latest stable version.
Check here, and maybe tried pinging Agimax, if you need assistance.

Another option is flashing the latest Xiaomi.EU, which has every available feature some of which have not yet found their way to the stable build.
For the download links check Option 2

I've recently purchased Galaxy S5 SM-G900T, Marshmallow, not rooted. Would like to flash Lineageos 17.1. Here is my plan and list of questions. I would be greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions.
1. Flash TWRP version 3.1.0-1 *.tar.md5 file (Use Odin 3.12.3 or 3.11.1?).
2. Make Nandroid backup of the Android phone and save it on SD card. Partitions: System, System.img, Data/user data (excl. storage?), Boot, Vendor, Vendor.img, Cache, Recovery, EFS, Persist, Logo.
3. Copy LOS 17.1 (zip), Magisk 18.1, Magisk uninstaller and Magisk manager.apk (latest stable 7.5.1) to microSD.
4. Reboot in TWRP (deny to install TWRP app) and make clean install of LOS 17.1:
Wipe> Adv. wipe> System, Data, Cache, Dalvik.
Flash LOS 17.1 (zip), Kernel. Install Magisk 18.1, Magisk manager.apk
5. Reboot from TWRP to the System.
6. Root with Magisk, install BusyBox and Substratum modules.
Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) probably was installed OTA. Should I first downgrade to the Lollipop or even KitKat or it is OK to go with Marshmallow? Or may be it is better to make a factory reset?
It is not clear for me if Bootloader is unlocked in my Galaxy SM-G900T from T-mobile (see attached pic). If it is locked can I still flash TWRP with Odin?
Are the versions of the Odin, TWRP, Magisk I've listed before OK and safe to flash on Samsung galaxy S5 SM-G900T?
Lineage OS flashing: Is it enough just to wipe System/Data/Cache or I must to Format it? Should I also wipe/format internal storage?
should I install kernel along with LOS or I can do that later?

OK, you should know that you are wanting to jump to the most Beta builds for the S5!
(Meaning, you might find that some things don't work, or may be a bit buggy on your phone) Now, if you agree to that, then ... (Only IMHO....)
First, if I was in your shoes (...just purchased a used Galaxy S5 SM-G900T) I would actual get the most up to date Stock Rom (Android 6.0.1 for you phone, ( can be found here on XDA, as well as Sammobile could really take a lot of time to download there)) Reason- So you know that you are 100% safe at Stock with all the
Seems that your on the right path, just missing some minor, changes. i just might do it a little different.. could just be me though...
1- Get Stock Rom for your phone
2 - Get Recovery- well TWRP 3.1.0-1 can work, the 3.3.1 seems to have issues to Android 10 Roms
3 - Odin 3.10 seems to work well (IMHO) but can use 3.12 or 3.11
4 - Yes, put the 17.1 image on your Micro SD Card...like in your Lineage Folder, also put any other files you may need or want IN the Micro SD card (i.e. latest Magisk 20.4 and Magisk Manager 7.5.1 9at time of writing)
5 - Flash the latest Stock Rom, (have the Reboot box checked-so it Reboots when done flashing) unplug the phone
6 - Flash your recovery (when doing so, make sure that you do not have the Reboot checked, so you can boot into recovery after powering off the phone, when done flashing, Boot to Recovery
7- True, when in Recovery, DON'T install their darn App! But also, go into settings, and set up Your Recovery... then all should be fine from this point
8 - Make your Backup (Check every box in the list, can even change the Name if you want) It will put it in the TWRP Folder in Internal Storage
9 - Clean up Stock, Wipe System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache. (I would format system to ext4 as well as Data Just to make sure nothing is there from Stock) (check out Clean Flashing for the S5)
10 - Flash your 17.1 image, (it will ask to wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing, DO SO) then in your case flash your Kernel, wipe, flash Magisk, wipe, flash Magisk Manager, wipe
11 - Boot to system after flashing the Rom and all the goodies. Relax... it will take several minutes to boot.
Just a reminder, Make sure that you have charged battery! Don't want any issues with power
hopefully you can see the minor changes I made from your steps 1 - 6 ! Just my 2 cents, but like I said you seem to be on right track.
Now, another good idea that I do, is, I actually Copy my TWRP folder in the Internal SD card to my External Micro SD Card ( So I don't lose my back ups, in case of an issue with the phone)
Hope this helps you out
Hello, I was tinkering for a few days to actually use lineage os in my device. I've flash multiple TWRP across these two days from xda forums, TWRP and PBRP works fine, what bothers me is everytime I install custom rom, when I reboot the system, it will go to fastboot after showing redmi logo with unlocked bootloader. I don't seem to know what's the case, but if I flash MIUI, it will work, not with other roms.
These what I've done:
Download Rom
TWRP (already installed) & vbmeta ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omi-redmi-note-9-xiaomi-redmi-10x-4g.4218909/ )
Reboot to recovery
Wipe DATA (the right button in TWRP)
Reboot to recovery again
adb push file or copy rom zip to /sdcard or internal storage
Install Rom
Wipe data and not wipe data already tested with no avail
Reboot to system
My problem is, is it really possible to install lineageos? I've tried to install lineageos17 which is fail with logs arround the line of Error 7, and then /product (no such file is found) or something like that. My device is Redmi Note 9 Helio G85, is it not compatible? or should I try using GSI treble rom?
I've also tried to downgrade to MIUI 12.0.3.0 from 12.0.6.0, I downloaded 12.0.1.0, but haven't tried it yet.
Any help is appreciated, my pc is linux based, so if possible without much tinkering to move to windows. Thank you.
So this is not my work I am just sharing this phh treble GSI which is fully tested and working super without any issues.
Installation:
Download this xz file(gapps included)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/treblerom/files/CAOS11/2022.02.28/caos-v315%2B220228-a64-bgZ.img.xz/download
Extract it and you will get image file place it in internal storage of phone.
Now Boot phone in TWRP and then tap install ,now tap install image tab now locate your CAOS image file and check mark system partition and slide bottom bar.
After flashing gets completed just go to wipe and do format data.
And reboot to the system.
Bugs:
1) adaptive brightness not working
2)some sensors are not working but still it will not cause issue
3)voLTE not working.
Here is full review of the rom
Will root this tablet soon and try it out!!
editnvm I thought I saw it as 2020 model
I just installed it and everything looks good so far. But I did NOT format the data partition. I had the Nexus ROM installed which didn't encrypt the data partition. Before booting this ROM, I used TWRP's file manager to see if the internal storage was encrypted and it wasn't. So it was like doing a dirty flash. It kept all of my apps and settings so all I had to do was arrange my home page. So, if your data partition isn't encrypted, you DON'T need to format it.
Hello, can you send the link to download the twrp? And for this tablet
(T515XXU8CVG2) Android version 11 is installed with Odin? Thank you
Hello, does it use less RAM than lineage os 19.1?
