hello, my account is ALREADY allowed to unlock because i unlocked a phone some months ago.
i enableddeveloper options, enabled OEM unlock, added my account ot mi account status, but after i put it i receive the 86006 error.
So when i use miunlock program from pc... it says me that current account is not bound to this device. BUT IT IS NOT TRUE.... how to solve this but?
already tried a factory reset..... nothing helped me,
i flashed the latest developer now seems to solve it... no more error BUT on mi unlock program it says me t wait 72hours. WHY? my account is already unlocked and approved months ago for unlocking....
i am going to update you after 72 hours... if i will unlock it
Any update?
if you are on stable 8.5 , flash dev rom (i flashed dev 9), it will solve 86006
now every account need 72 hours after added to device

If you install that tool and check all of the .exe files on virustotal.com you'll find a lot of hits on some of the files which appear to have trojans in them. Be careful. One file had 5 or 6 hits and another had 11 hits on virustotal.com which an almost certain sign it is a dangerous trojan.
I solve this problem flash dev rom :good:
I appreciate the help but this is a terrible solution for those of us who just need root but don't want a custom rom and never intended to wipe. There is a workaround that failed for me but appears to be working for the Redmi Note and the Miui forum claims it now works for ALL phones receiving 86006 error (the fix where you don't actually have to bind the account -- just verify with phone number on the mi website, then let it locate your phone, and then, if that doesn't work, clear the mi unlock tool cache.
Mentioning it because even though it didn't work for me (Live in USA, using global rom) maybe it works for others in other countries. Most of the posts I've seen where it worked were from users located in India.
One of my friend has redmi note 3 kenzo
It would be very helpful if someone has a trick to unlock bootloader without permission.
I think there is no need of permission for old devices for unlocking bootloader.
One of my friend has Redmi note 4X and was able to unlocked without asking for permission.
even this worked for his Redmi 3S but with 72hours of waiting time.
Just logged in into Mi unlock tool with same account as in device and your friend should be able to unlock bootloader (maybe not right away but with several hours of waiting time)
Problem isn't that
Problem is :- He is not able to add his mi account from developer option for oem unlocking.
An error occur always.

Yes, right. Log in in Mi unlock tools on PC with the same account as in the phone and then connect phone in fastboot mode but first make sure oem unlock is enable and usb debugging is turned on. ignore the account log in in phone.
just give it try.

Log out of mi account in your phone, log in again, associate that account with your device then try unlocking the bootloader. Worked for me that way.

Don't be confused. Older devices are unlockable without even applying(i am saying this on my experience) i have unlocked two of my friends Redmi 3S and Redmi note 4X without even applying to xiaomi.
never devices needs to have permission to unlock and it takes time and request can get rejected if the it does not meet their conditions.
if you have old device such as more than a year or more.
Just download and install Mi flash tools and you are good to unlock but it still shows error of 50% or stuck at 99% so you'll have to unlock after remaining hours which will show on mi unlock tools.
I just used this method to unlock my Mi Max 2, Miui 10

Its most likely server error from xiaomi as it happens many times and almost everyone faced it whoever tried to unlock i guess.
Please try again later and if possible try and connect to different WiFi network before adding account.
Also you can just give it a try by enabling USB debugging, oem unlock turned on from developers options and then just turn off your device and boot into fastboot mode and try unlocking it, regardless of adding mi account.
You should also try some different versions of mi unlock tools(preferably older version).
As i have mentioned it worked without even adding account and it took 3 days to unlock as it was getting stuck at 50% or 99% and was asking to wait for 72 hours and later it unlocked in first try so this should work for you too.
There is unofficial way to unlock bootloader please search on XDA/YouTube or some other websites.
I am exactly facing the same problem please help

Hi, I have xiaomi 9 pro, I unlocked it successfully after getting the permision, tried to flash it following all the instructions, and at the end it showed error "Not catch checkpoint (\$fastboot -s *lock)" and the phone does not turn on anymore... so it is locked and I cannot ask for another permission... any suggestions how to fix that?

See. This is why you should flash WITHOUT locking BL in MiFlash, if something goes wrong u can do it again but if you have locked BL, then you probably need to use EDL

I wasn't able to solve any problem with the EDL point yet. Sorry to say that. Therefore, as Marcelsky said, don't lock your phone by flashing. Pay attention to the button in the Mi Flash. Otherwise may the phone stuck in the bootloop, or will not start and ..
So I installed a custom rom in my new k20 pro lately, and accidentally locked the device after installed the custom rom inside. Now, my device is refusing to open the new rom and stuck in redmi recovery mode. It said that "this MIUI version cant be installed on this device". I tried to unlock the phone again, but xiaomi said that it takes at least 30 days to unlock a new device. Im kinda sad and confused about this, please help.

Did you try to flash custom rom using miflash?
Hi! I have the same issue on my Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (It was Chinese) but it came unlocked with xiaomi.eu rom.
After i installed a global rom, and google wallet nfc pay did not work, so i thought okay i will lock it then so maybe wallet would accept it, (with the eu rom it worked before) so i put the device in fastboot and used fastboot oem lock on cmd...
And from then it stucks on miui recovery 5.0 screen, and says, this miui version can't be installed on this device...
I might not enabled oem unlocking before i shut if off, but i added it to my mi account so i dont know if after a week i can maybe unlock it. But i think the other possible solution would be to sideload the original chinese stock rom, which is for M2102K1AC, Mi 11 pro, codename mars, but i couldn't find it anywhere... If someone can upload a link to it, that would be a huge help! Or any idea! thx!
geraldmany said:
HI! i got a mi 11 pro 1 year ago, and it was offically chinese, but it came unlocked with Xiaomi.eu firmware, but i could't update it via the updater app, so i searched and found the global star version and just flashed it, everything worked, only now google pay nfc didnt work, it said that its probably because of the unlocked bootloader, so i got to fastboot and in cmd i sent fastboot oem lock, and since then my phone is stuck in miui recovery 5.0 screen and says that i cannot run this firmware on the device, i tried to unlock it but failed, maybe after a week, but i think that i didnt turn on oem unlocking on the phone itself before this... So im just hoping that after a week unlocking could be done... Or my other idea is, that i could install the original chinese rom with sideload, because i managed to install another global version on it since, but the result is still the same, the only problem is that i cannot find literally anywhere a mars codenamed firmware...

Anyone who might have the same situation, i found a simple, but effective solution, not sure if it works on every xiaomi device, but i will write down the steps here:
You need to use XiaomiADB, here is the download link and the description for how to use it -> https://xiaomiui.net/how-to-use-xiaomiadb-8044/ (if the page is not available, then feel free to msg me!)
For xiaomi adb, you need to go to 3rd option on the miui recovery screen, NOT THE FASTBOOT
So basically i went through the steps to “xiaomiadb sideload_miui <filename>”
And I tried to install a rom, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT!
The message was:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> Can't install unofficial rom
after trying 4 times all the same and: Installation of this rom via stock recovery is not allowed by Xiaomi
Says Installation failed, and then i just decided to download another rom so i PLUGGED OUT THE PHONE right after this, and went to another room to connect to wired network, to download and try a different rom... when i came back, to all my surprise, the phone was turned on, so i went to the setting dev ops and enabled bootloader unlocking, linked it to my account enabled adb and everything that is needed to flash another rom later, so then i rebooted and again, miui recovery 5.0 screen, but now i enabled unlocking, so i put the phone in fastboot, and tried MI UNLOCKER TOOL again, now it says: Please unlock 168 hours later. And do not add your account in MIUI again, otherwise you will wait from scratch.
So that means, after 7 days i wll be able to unlock it, until then, i can turn it on with the above method, in short try to sideload (copy and install) a rom to it, and then after it failed, plug it out and just wait like 10-20 maybe 30 seconds and bam your device is normally booted... I hope it helps to some of you, (i have been searching for the solution for almost a week, my other option was to pay someone who can MAYBE do it or send the phone back to china and pay the repairs, so im really happy with this method! If it helps to you, please reply so i and the others will know that it worked! Have a nice day!
Hello Xiaomi Community,
I've been trying all day to unlock the bootloader of my 11T (not to be confused with the "Mi 11") but without success... Developer options are active, OEM and USB debugging are enabled. However, I noticed that after I connected the account and device and closed the settings, the Mi unlock device keeps resetting. That is, when I reopen the developer options, it looks like I never connected my account and device.
Is this normal or is this the fault and what can be done?
Have it with various tools (Win10: xiaomi-bootloader-tool; Mediatek-unlock-tool, XiaoMiTool V2, MiFlash Tool) and (Linux: Xiaomi ADB&Fastboot Tools, ADB&Fastboot) tried, but after rebooting the smartphones it is still locked
I also went through a lot of tutorials step-by-step but it doesn't want to.
Am I making a mistake or is this possibly a bug in the system or something?
P.S. processor is a rather rare MediaTek here.
Hopefully someone can help I am grateful for every answer..

Hi All, as this device is fairly new and there is not much clarity on things so, I decided to create a master guide as you see below. I am also attaching a PDF version of this guide as I have not formatted this XDA post to what I feel it should...

The Waiting Time, that you describe, is the Problem. Da liegt der Hase im Pfeffer, we say in german
I have done the preparatory work more often then i can count... It seems like the Time is resetting itself automatically again and again :/ this sucks..
In certain parts Xiaomi is a absolutely catastrophe.. in comparison with, for example, Huawei.

No it won't. It will show you the time left to unlock. The only thing that will reset the counter is readding the mi account in dev settings. And that's exactly what OP did trying to unlock over and over again each time it failed ignoring the 168 hours waiting time. Judging from his description.
Removing/replacing the sim card is also a bad idea during the waiting time as it is tied to your Mi account.
You just need to add the unlock account in dev options and wait.
So i tried to unlock the bootloader for my Redmi Note 11 (NFC) to flash a custom rom, and i was searching for a method to bypass the 7 days wait like i did with my other redmi that has an MTK cpu. but apparantly qualcomm cpus are harder to unlock and i was searching last night and found about a temporary unlock exploit, but all the tools that do it are paid and there is no free tool to do it, any help would be appreciated !
As far as I know, it's not possible
The unlock key is sent from Xiaomi's servers, so it's not like Mi Unlocker can be hacked, since the server will know when you made the first request for the device

i had a redmi 9c, didn't use the mi flash tool and i used another tool that instantly unlocked it, for context it had a mediatek cpu so it was much easier to find a crack, but now with this note 11 with qualcomm cpu i saw an exploit that uses the mi assistant in recovery mode but all the tools to do it are paid, so just maybe there might be a free tool or another way to do it

I don't know of any tools like that.
On MediaTek you can flash a preunlocked bootloader via Download mode with SP Flash Tool.
I don't know of anything like that for Qualcomm SoCs
There is an emergency download mode for Qualcomm, but I think it's locked

Today I have finally unlocked Redmi Note 11 after 6 months of use. I didn't had to wait any minute. I guess it's because I already waited 2 weeks 5 years ago with my older device. So, it's an account issue. Nothing can be done.

Not an account issue. It's random: some people get 500+ hours, some people 168 and some people not a single second. I had a Redmi 4X unlocked for 3 years but with my new Redmi Note 11 I had to wait 168 hours again.
It's the account, not random.
