hello,
first a big thanks to mike1986 for his excellent ROM!
I've found that my live wallpaper (I've tried two) freezes when I e.g. go to the app menu, then open an app and leave this APP by pressing the HOME button. BACK button twice works...
After freezing, pressing twice the power button or open the APP menu and leave it by HOME, the motion of the wallpaper works again.
I've got ARHD 2.1.2 on the phone
Somebody has an idea what is the cause and how to fix it?
Sorry for my bad english...
greetings, Richie
The reason your phones freezing when you press the home key is the app your leaving is still running in the background where when you press the back button twice you're exiting the app and ending the process. Your phone in its current state cannot handle running the animations of the live wallpaper and the application of your choice. You'll probably have to increase your cpu governor to 1600 mhz to get smooth results. I personally think live wallpapers while cool and gimmicky are just that, a gimmick to sell phones they're unnecessary and waste ram and drain battery, but to each his own. Up your clock and you should be fine.
thank you for your fast answering.
You're right, live wallpapers are not really useful but they looks nice, sometimes.
But what makes me wonder is, when I open the same app from the surface of the phone instead out of the app menu and close it by pressing home, the animation of the wallpaper runs. A look at my task manager shows me, that the app runs anyway. And pressing twice the power button, reanimates the walpaper but don't really kills the app, as I can see at the task manager.
I also use the deamon controler with the standard settings (Wake Max: 1152000 MHz...). I'm a bit scared to set even higher frequency.
If I remember correctly, I had no problems with the stock rom with the live wallpaper. Maybe I will test it soon again, with a backup of it.
thank you once again,
Richie
Don't be afraid to set your governor higher just whatever you do don't set to "set at startup". If your phone freezes upon setting a higher frequency just remove the battery to reset your phone, the governor will automatically set back to the roms default upon reset which is why you have to have to have to not click "set at startup". I personally run at 1600 and everything is fine even upon setting at 2100 it runs fine its just not necessary however each room and kernel is different and responds differently to different settings. However as long as you don't click "set at startup" you cannot damage or brick your device.

no wallpaper freeze at stock rom 2.3.3
now I flashed a backup of my stock rom (android 2.3.3 with sense 2.1).
I had to find out, that there was no freezing of the live wallpaper. I am of the opinion that it can not be due to the frequency, because this rom runs with just 1000 MHz (standard).
Setting the frequency at my ARHD 2.1.2 higher than default causes a reboot...
Is there an Android Revolution HD user, who can confirm the freezing of the live wallpaper?
Greeting, Richie
Doe's nobody have the same issue then me?
Could anybody please confirm or deny?
Thanks and Greetings, Richie
hello guys I want to know in iphone when you click power button the screen turns on immediately but in Zeus 6.33Bn (also all roms I have tested contains stock rom ) it opens after 2/3 seconds some times if there is a lot of apps are working it take 5-15 seconds to open

I agree!
But using auto task killer will speed up a bit your phone.
If you want you phone even better, use supercharger script.

To my mind, it changes nothing or nearly nothing i use advanced task killer and im using it seldom, after charging only, or when i want to play some demanding game...
But, sticking to the topic, i would advice changing processor governor, what were you using? Are you using custom lockscreen like go launcher or widget locker?

I'm using zeus and it has the default ginger bread lockscreen and I'm on smartass2
Its quite weird, because smartass2 is rather aggressive governor. However, this long-time waiting (5-15sec) comes from lowering CPU frequency to really low, deep sleep numbers.
If its a real problem for you, you can easily increase lowest CPU freq and see if it changes anything. And second thing which comes to my mind, check in build.prop line "pm.sleep_mode=1". It causes device to get into deep sleep.
But, of course these changes will affect battery life... quite strongly :/

How do I increase the speed of my Z1 by increasing the RAM and CPU?
not any help sorry but am curious to know why you need extra speed (faster cpu)?
can understand underclocking the cpu to save battery but the phone already runs incredibly fast, an extra 100/200mhz wont make much difference other than kill your battery quicker.

You can use any of the apps from the Play Store such as:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.sineo.android.noFrillsCPU
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antutu.CpuMasterFree
There you can change governors and try to overclock your CPU. DO BARE IN MIND THAT THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!!
If you don't know what you are doing, don't play with fire.
The device is already super fast. You could downclock it if you want more battery life but its safer to just use apps such as Greenify or the built in stamina mode.
I guess I meant I need to increase my batterylife, I already have Greenify and I did mean underclocking but it came out wrong. I want to drastically increase my batterylife without installing a ROM.
Well if you want to OC you'd need a kernel that supports that. To increase ram, you can delete system apps that you don't need, use greenify to hibernate apps and in developer options, lower background process limit. If you want to make things snappier, you could lower the window animation, transition animation and animator duration (in dev options)

Does anyone know what the exact stock kernel settings are, and can we set a custom kernel to those EXACT settings?
No matter what tweaks I do, I cannot get any custom kernel (Franco, leankernel, elementalx etc) to be as smooth as the stock kernel. The only reason I like using a custom kernel is to tweak RGB color settings. Aside from that I don't need any other changes.
Essentially I'm looking for the stock kernel with RGB color options. Does this exist?

if its a stock kernel, then no. since those options arent in stock. only a custom kernel will include those options. even if its close to stock, its not a stock kernel.
Right. I don't mean it so literally. I don't care if its a custom kernel. I'm just looking for a kernel that has all the stock governor and frequency settings but with RGB color tweaking added.
No matter what I do to a custom kernel, they still stutter and lag significantly more than the stock kernel.

set up the custom kernel the same way as you set up the stock kernel. custom kernels change the cpu setting many times, and you dont have to use it in that custom way. you can always set up custom kernels they way you want it, like i do as well. i dont use custom kernels with their default settings, i set them up how i like them.
Yeah, that's really what I'm looking for. By chance, do you know all the stock kernel settings that I would want to change something like leankernel to in order to get the complete stock feel.
I know in another thread you said you use ondemand with sampling_rate set to 15000 and the up_threshold set to 98. This definitely helped but I'm still getting some stuttering, mainly when unlocking the device. Aside from the above settings, what else would you recommend tweaking to get as close to stock as possible?
Thanks for your help!

well, stock is set at 2649 max with a 1497mhz for a minimum(not lower), with mpdecision and boost enabled. i believe its also set to have interactive as the governor(but i dont know the stock interactive settings). and what do you mean when unlocking the device? on the lockscreen?
Thanks!
Yeah, it's so strange, with both stock rooted and Pure Shamu, no matter which kernel/settings I use, other than stock, I get this very noticeable stutter on the status bar and nav bar appearing when unlocking the device. It also happens on the first couple times of opening the app drawer after a deep sleep. I've tried everything and can't get it to go away. The only thing that fixes it is the stock kernel. It's baffling me, really.

thats an odd behavior, as i never get a "lag' in the lock screen, or in the app drawer. but i keep my phone at 3033mhz high/300mhz low. even on other settings, thats never happened. do you use the google now launcher?

I use Nova. I tried switching back to Google Now and that didn't solve it. I might give 3033/300 a try and set it to stick to that. You use that setting with ondemand governor and sampling_rate set to 15000 and the up_threshold set to 98?

also, you might have to play with the voltage for 3033mhz. im a bin 5, and had to raise the voltage at 3033mhz to 1185mV(from thee default 1175) to get it so it wont crash. btw, elementalx kernel only does the 3033mhz
Sounds great. Thanks for all the info. I'll adjust all the settings to your recommendations except I'll keep max at the default 2649 for now to see if that solves the issue. I don't think I'll need to overclock past that to solve the issue (hopefully).
Thanks again.

Well, I don't believe it's nova that causes it because I get it with the Google Now launcher/custom kernel as well.
I will say that it's been a few hours with the following settings and I haven't experienced a single stutter. Pretty happy so far.
Lean Kernel (franco will probably work just the same)
Governor: ondemand
min freq - 300
max freq - 2649
sampling_rate - 15000
up_threshold - 98
mpdecision off

I should have reported back. I ended up going back to the stock kernel again. Even with those ideal settings I was starting to get the stuttering again. And I even got a few SOD's.
I spent some time reading up on it some more and from what I can tell, pretty much all custom kernels seem to have issues from stuttering, lag, SODs etc. with any given governor. The kernel developers are hard at work to fix this but even Franco and flar have said they still have a lot of work to do before their kernels can be 100% functional and reliable.
I've gone back to the stock kernel and everything is perfect. The only downside for me is that I have no RGB controls so I have to live with the 255,255,255 RGB settings for now. But I'll take that and a 100% fluid phone over bugs.
Cf lumen by chainfire has some colour changing abilities in master mode. Not sure if it helps you.

Yes, activate the lock (top right / multitasking screen) or flash a custom kernel (like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ernel-franco-kernel-r1-28th-november-t3508904) which supports more background apps (limit raised to 60 from stock 32)

hello, does the lock solve the issue, could you please confirm ?
There are some hidden settings which might cause this
1. Apps - Setting - Apps auto-launch . Make sure it's turned off
2. Advanced - Recent app management - Make sure Normal clear is selected.
There is option in setting that close the application as soon you clear it from recent apps ....Setting/system UI/advanced
...Make sure it desabled.....Enjoy your device
I can't find any such setting. Which phone are you using now?

I'm not sure if this is a PoGo issue or a OnePlus issue.

I'm also having the same problem with PoGo. I can't find this lock button.
I have the same issue with some apps, including PoGo and Firefox and probably Discord (chat application). I bought this device with 6 GB to have not these issues. I'm quite disappointed. The issue occured with Android 6, with what the device was shipped, and with the latest Android 7.1. Maybe it doesn't have 6 GB at all and they did cheat me?
The lock button on the task manager screen does just prevent apps to be swiped away in my opinion.

glad i'm not the only one. NPR app closes by itself when I'm listening to it.. I've noticed flipboard closing while i'm using it as well.
Just use a custom kernel, stock one has a limit on 32 max apps open. Other than that the solutions are those given already (Lock icon, disable battery opt for that app, disable doze, etc.)
