You can flash this as you would any other rom, twrp is fine. You can also flash via choose update package option with miui update page if you wish to. Just make sure you have choose correct version and so on.

that's the thing im not trying to update, because updating will require the previous version of software (miui 11) to install it, but what i wanna do is have a full miui 12 rom that i can flash directly without needing a previous version because i want to wipe system/data and install it from scratch

No No you don't get me lol, in the updator app(playstore) , make sure you choose the correct version, the app allows you to download stable/beta and for multiple devices, it downloads full roms.
You don't need to use the update package option, just use twrp

Look here for the MIUI 12 fastboot ROM. Flashing that will give you the cleanest install
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
View the page in desktop mode, if viewing on a phone.
In step 1, there is a long list of the latest fastboot ROMs for all Xiaomi phones. Look for the Mi 9T Pro Global link.

in my previous android phones i can make a clean install without unlocking bootloader, just rooting.. is that the case here aswell? do i need to unlock the bootloader first ?

To flash a fastboot ROM you need to unlock the bootloader. I assumed you already had an unlocked bootloader from your earlier posts about wiping and flashing in TWRP, as it's not possible to install TWRP with a locked bootloader.

Most easiest way is to update your phone from OTA. When you are on MIUI12, open settings and about phone. Click on miui version, and tap several times on number 12, it will open additional settings for udater , then click up right on 3 dots and chose download latest package . After when download finish, you can save it to your PC

Things have changed from the times of King or Kingo root apps (rooting a running Android system, without the need to flash/patch the system through Fastboot) - but that was really in the prehistoric era of Android (up to Android 5 or 6.0), we are now at Android 10 (with 11 coming)
Android has closed the loopholes in SE Linux and you cannot root it anymore while alive. Hence Android must not be alive, which means that you must flash from Fastboot or custom Recovery
Even to have custom Recovery, you must have had it flashed from Fastboot.
Therefore you need the ability to flash from Fastboot, and for that you needed to start everything by first unlocking the Bootloader (btw, in those prehistoric times Bootloaders were not locked either)
Good thing is that Xiaomi still allows unlocking their Bootloaders (they do it themselves, for free, you just have to wait a week)
Huawei, to the other side, not just stopped (two years ago) their free and even instant service for providing Bootloader unlocking codes but re-architectured their Bootloaders, making them practically no more unlockable
Hence, on the new Huawei phones, you cannot unlock Bootloaders and therefore you cannot flash nor root. Game over
But yes, it is now a hard decision. Unlock the Bootloader and you will (almost for sure) fail to pass SafetyNet (CTS Profile attest), causing to have Device not certified in Playstore, loosing GPay and to have troubles with various banking and similar apps

If you flash a fastboot ROM to do the update, the official Mi Flash Tool has the option (it is the default option) to re-lock the bootloader once the install is complete. Just don't try and lock the bootloader when flashing Chinese MIUI on a global phone (or vice versa), doing this will brick the phone. The link I pointed you to previously only contains global MIUI versions, so you will be fine flashing a ROM from that page.

[ROM] [MM] Chinese CM 13 (Unofficial) Redmi Note 3 (SD)

I created this thread because this ROM is been discussed in lot of others threads. So let's give it a separate dedicated place .
This ROM is for for advance users only. If you don't know what you're doing, don't even think of trying. Proceed at your own risk.
Problem you may face:
Will relock your bootloader.
You may not be able to restore your previous backup.
It is working great for some people and for some people it's a nightmare.
You tell me.
Why you should install it, there are 2 reasons.
You miss Finger Print Sensor
You miss Finger Print Sensor a lot.
Fingerprint unlock performance is amazingly faster than offical MIUI. And in case you don't miss Fingerprint sensor , I don't see any point of flashing this ROM. Instead go here [CYNOGEN MOD 13 ]and install my favorite ROM from one of my Fav developer @Santosh
Working:
RIL
Audio
Camera
Infrared
Finger Print Sensor
And everything except things mentioned in "not working"
Not working:
GPS
May be some other things.
Here's the offical thread. It's in Chinese language so you may need to use Google translator unless you know Chinese.

Can you explain step by step, if you don't mind.
safest way would be to dl fastboot ROM from miui, flash it via miflash. then simply unlock BL again using MI unlock, flash recovery as you did before and you re good to go. fastboot rom will revert everything on ur phone like it was when u bought it. rooting/unlocking you'll need to do again, but hes everything will be working as it should.

Coming back to Android - How to flash global rom via twrp on a magisk rooted mi9

Hey guys,
coming back to android after several years of using apple smartphone devices at work. (was active here when the htc magic was launched)
So far I was able to read myself in on how things run these days. I was able to go through all the hoops, got the device unlocked, decrypted - used a users video guide from the forum here to install twrp for recovery - rooted the device with magisk and was happy to be able to use the apps that needed root.
Now I am sitting here with the first ota update after the flash: MIUI V10.2.26.0.PFAEUXM Stable 2.2G and I am getting triggered by the popups to update (taskbar, icon symbol) - I clicked on update and when I reboot I get into twrp not the stock recovery, seems legit cause he awaits a xiaomi flash but boots into twrp.
My question now is:
can I update the miui from twrp if I have the zip file without loosing my data? would be a pain to setup all the apps again and I am a bit too uncertain to test this now.
best regards
Lucin
If it's the same rom base but only an update then yes..... Meaning global rom to global rom update.... EU ROM to EU ROM UPDATE then yes!!! Just update through TWRP and you won't lose data

Ok - Thank you that is exactly what I want to do - just tried it and unfortunately I get some Errors. See attached photo. Someone can enlighten me?
Could it be due to me restarting from the Update window from miui? Maybe I should try to get the rom separetly and save it on the device in another folder?

Mi 9Tpro EU comes with stock android Dialer etc

Unpleasant surprise for me ...
After getting my Mi 9Tpro euro, I discovered that the euro phone does not comes with the following:
Xiaomi Dialer/Contact
Xiaomi Sms
Facemoji Keyboard
But with the stock Google dialer etc .. instead
if Facemoji can easily be installed, from the store, the dialer and sms (althought they can be downloaded from apk repositories ) will crash or not fully work if you side load them from apk..
Vanilla android app might be to some taste , but I'm pissed to be stuck with them as I happen to like Xiomi's
may be I could try to get the global ROM? but really wtf is xiaomi doing with there euro rom... and what reviewer are doing ... seems they are testing everything but the phone part of the phone -_-

Afik, xiaomi.eu doesn't have ota support. Also, I faced mic problem in eu rom. I'm currently using mi globe and it's based on xiaomi.eu but surprisingly doesn't have mic problem.
Also, .eu rom is based on Chinese miui.

OTA does not work on EU roms you would need to install the updates manually. It would not cause any data loss. You can read about this on xiaomi.eu

hey .
I am having same problem and i like to change to Xaiomi stock also on MI9T pro that I bought in Spain.
can someone please explain or point which rom i need to switch?
i am new to this since i move from Samsung to this killer phone.
thnx for help.
I also bought the Mi 9T Pro (EU version) yesterday. Isn't there a way just to find the Xiaomi stock dialer apk somewhere for this phone??
No. Installing the original miui apks doesn't work, they crash. There are two ways to have them - wait for the global official rom to come out at en.miui.com and try to install it without unlocking bootloader, or if it doesn't work out - unlock, install it and leave it like that. I've posted a theme here for the call recording and it's the same problem, actually...

After some long, tedious and pointless email exchange with OnePlus Support they finally said they were sorry for "miscommunication" and advised to raise this as an idea here: https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
I do not agree this is an idea. There is already a builtin call recording app, this just has to be allowed by default for Poland just like for India.
What you can do with a minimum effort to enable it on the phone:
Get SetEdit App from Play Store
Get jOnePlus Tools
Get ADB as shown here https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Run two ADB Commands:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
In SetEdit go to Global Table (top right), then find "op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc", edit the value to 1
Go to jOnePlus Tools, enable call recording
What will you achieve? Now, you can auto record calls in your region through the built-in app.
Will this work after reboot? jOnePlus Tools should keep the recording after the reboot. In case it does not, you can use SetEdit after the reboot to enable the option after the reboot.
Does this need root? No root require.
Linking all threads in this forum about our common dialer problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-call-recording-t3961106
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-problem-t3959150
It might possibly lead to not crash the xiaomi call app, but I think installing the global rom is easier and less risky. Just wait and see... And there will be OTAs with the official global rom.
installed the xiaomi.eu rom
it has xiomi apps (and new one from the quick menu)
it second space is off by defalt
i get twice the battery life (for my usage)
I wonder if this is the reason for the lack of the call recording feature:
https://iapp.org/news/a/how-do-the-rules-on-audio-recording-change-under-the-gdpr/ (summary, it's illegal in Europe to record calls, without the explicit agreement of the other person)
How about searching on APKMirror?

Question Owners of the Chinese version who have upgraded to the European.

Please, everyone who could upgrade your Chinese Mi 11 Ultra to global or European firmware, please describe the sequence of actions:
1) what version of phone you flashed - 8/12/256 or 12/512
2) what soft did you use to unlock bootloader
3) what version of new firmware you choosed - Global or EEA (European)
4) what mode of ref lashing did you use - "three dots" via upgrade menu (recovery) or fastboot
I think this thread will be beer useful for many of us
Thank you

there is none in the whole 52 pages topic on xiaomu.eu? Im also curious about your questions. I wanted to flash my phone in next two days after unlock bootloader.
I done it today, didnt check my version though before flashing. I updated with the OTA yesterday and flashed the latest stable 12.5. There is safetynet issue with that at the moment due to Xiaomi not certifying it but i fixed it with magisk.
Rom is much better

Yeah it's working
V12.5.2.0.RKACNXM is chinese ROM, not EU or global ROM but it's good think to know than even on CN, it's possible to have multi languages and Google apps support integrated.

Isn't safety net broken so Google pay and banking apps? Won't be fixed until Xiaomi does something right??
If true I'd rather stay on China ROM until that if resolved. I have no issues at all with my China ROM.
Good thread ! We need it for now.
So first version of global rom is not safe !
I was reading all that 54 pages and I noticed that you have to update your phone software via phone settings. After that it should be compatible with xiaomi Eu rom (flastboot flashing). Also donโ€™t use that miflash...do it
Via standard command prompt method.
(The XiomiEU Rom is based on a Chinese rom but it have such a big change log is crazy ! Is polished so well that is better than global)
thats what I understood from all that pages....but again I would wait a little bit....

I already updated to the latest OTA; however, I am still left with a Mi 11 Ultra stuck in fastboot.

Hi Axel, got your pm there too. (MobileMadeSimple) I didn't do anything special. Made sure was on latest update. Unlocked bootloader. Skipped through setup etc. Went to fastboot, ran the bat as administrator.
That was it

Question How to downgrade MIUI 12.5 to MIUI 12

Hi. I have Redmi 9T with, you know, horribly optimized MIUI 12.5.12. With MIUI 12, phone was wery smooth, but after 12.5 everything changed. So, I tried to downgrade it to MIUI 12 via updater app but that is officially unsupported. What can I do? Is it worth to wait more for long awaited MIUI 13, or go back to 12 (with flashing, or fastbooting, I don't know that well)? And if I'll do flashing, can I do without backup and in-phone data and media loss? There should be a solution.

If you use a Xiaomi Eu rom the bootloader is unlocked..
But maybe you are talking about EEA stock rom, to change version see:

The same problem and that he is Georgian, probability?
He just said "Thank you so much . I'll try that."
And no feedback, which is relatively common on Xda, we assume this has been resolved.
I have a Redmi note 8 with Android 11 and I would like to go back to 10 (MIUI 12). I have Orangefox. How can I go back? I ask for help.I've read several things but I don't quite understand which procedure to use. Many thanks to anyone who will help me out.

So I can download the .zip file (Flashtool FULL ROM) and not Recovery from the Xiaomi site, copy it to the sd and flash it with OF? Is this just enough? The phone is not encrypted and I am also unrooting it. Thank you so much. Sorry but I'm a newbie.

Yep,O.F/TWRP
wipe/format data type yes reboot recovery/flash rom.
But I advise you to use Mi Flash with a Fastboot rom (TGZ, contains all imgs).
Alternative without Miflash: use the flash file all.bat from the folder extracted from the fastboot rom, with a PC.

ZD bro , I stumbled across this site by accident. In short, the MIUI 13 update has arrived and the phone has been fixed, it almost doesn't freeze anymore and it doesn't need to be updated to 12 anymore. When Android 14 comes out, I'll install it somehow, or I'll be stuck . Thank you for the offer, I didn't think I would meet a Georgian on this site ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป.
