Select correct "Bands" 3G/4G for your country - Realme 6 Guides, News, & Discussion

1) go to settings and enable developer option.
2) go to call settings and type *#*#3646633#*#* (type by hands if copy-paste doesn't work)
3) go to band mode and select your sim
4)Select correct bands according to your country

B1 = "Band WCDMA-IMT-2000" etc..
Basically you should lower your power consume and increase signal strength and speed

Is there a way to disable the 1900 3G band and just keep 850 and 2100? Whenever my phone (i896 rogers running JK4 modem) switches to 1900, I lose 3G connection. It takes a few mins for it to switch to other bands and restore connectivity.

I've never been able to selectively choose options from there, but a workaround would be to just go into the WCDMA bands, select 850 and set that as the only one.
I do that and use HSPA only with my phone.

I had an extremely similar problem recently. Only solution I found was reflashing the modem and reselecting all in band selection. Problem went away after that.

SM-G906S (S805) -- ACTIVATE LTE on AT&T

I am on AT&T and the reason I bought this phone was because, according to the specs in the FCC site, it has LTE Band 17 (which is the most common one for AT&T).
I was only getting 3G (HSPA+) speeds. I followed the following procedure to enable LTE for data and still be able to place/receive phone calls:
Do this at your own risk
Open the dial pad
Type: *#0011# to enter Service Mode (Be very careful with what you do here)
Note: You need to be rooted for this to work
Once in Service Mode, do the following:
Tap the menu button and tap Back
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter an upper case Q and press OK
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter 4 zeroes (0000) and press OK
Wait from 5 to 15 seconds. You'll see the Main Menu
Choose option [2]: UE SETTING & INFO
Choose option [1]: SETTING
Choose option [1]: PROTOCOL
Choose option [2]: NAS
Choose option [1]: NETWORK CONTROL
Choose option [4]: BAND SELECTION
Choose option [4]: LTE Band Preference
Choose option [7]: LTE ALL (Or you can choose band 17 instead)
Tap the menu button and choose Back (Don't press the back key)
Tap again the menu button and choose Back
Choose option [6]: LTE/WCDMA Mode Only
Press the back key to exit
And that's it: You now have LTE and calls if using AT&T. This won't work with TMobile.
If you reboot your phone, you may need to repeat the steps.

I am confused. I am also on ATT - I bought this phone back when it first came out. All I did was add the ATT APN and then I was able to get LTE just fine. I didn't have to do anything like you described.
So - are you saying you added your APN and still had to go thru all of those steps?

That brings up another question - If I am getting LTE now - does that mean I am already getting data via that Band you mentioned ? Or could it be that I am getting it from some other band? (forgive these noobie type questions - I really don't know that much about this)
and is there a difference between the speeed you can get from any of the different bands?

Try this free app to show you what LTE band you are using
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery
Most likely if you are on AT&T is band 17.
The higher the frequency the most difficult it is for the signal to travel farther or into building. You'll better results if you are receiving on 700MHz than 2600MHz, but that is determined by your carrier (although there are ways to manually change it)
Yup my AT&T LTE bands weren't activated as well. Had to go through these steps and they worked perfectly!

Thanks for the informatino - I had no idea that some phones had problems connecting to LTE - I personally never have had that issue with any of the TMOBILE PHONES i have used on ATT (Note 3 and my S5) but its good to know this in case it ever happens with a future phone.
anyway, for grins and gigglesI got the app suggested - but I can't see in the app where it says what band I am using?
I attached a screen shot - can you tell me what I should be looking for?

Hey Miscom. Thank you for the post. I am considering this phone. I am wondering if this phone is fully compatible with all LTE At&t bands? I copied the At&t band info from a post on another forum and pasted it below. I assume that it is correct.
At&t LTE Bands
4G HSPA and HSPA+ use 850Mhz(Band 5) and 1900Mhz(Band 2) bands but it all depends on area if they own a license. LTE uses Band 17(700Mhz), Band 5(850Mhz), Band 2(1900Mhz), Band 4(1700/2100Mhz) currently.
It appears that Band 4(1700/2100) is missing from the SM-G906S specs.

You are correct: Band 4 is missing. For AT&T only band 17 is available in the G906S.
Band 17 is the main LTE band for AT&T. I traveled by car a few days ago from Tennessee to New York and except for a few places, I got LTE most of the time. Never saw E, only 3G (AT&T's 4G) and LTE.
Same here I have LTE pretty much 99% everywhere I go. I'm on AT&T as well.
That is good news. Do you guys know if there will be ROM support by cyanogen for this phone?
Also. Where did you guys get yours?

I found this on AT&T official website,
Your device will need to work on one of these GSM network frequencies:
AT&T Multi-band GSM
UMTS, LTE or unlocked Multi-band GSM - 850/1900 MHz
UMTS - 850/1900 MHz
LTE Band 2 - 1900 MHz
LTE Band 4 - 1700 MHz
LTE Band 5 - 800 MHz
LTE Band 17 - 700 MHz

Use *#*#info#*#* for network mode
Or Build.prop editing.
Make a nandroid 1st and Use Jrummy Build.prop editor from Google play. U have to be rooted.
Ro.telephony.network =9
thanks for the reply. yes I have used the code to switch to LTE. I am not rooted so cant do build.prop editing. Is there any other method? I'm surprised why 4g lte option is not in settings by default in LG flex :s

[Solved] Disable LTE carrier aggregation / LTE+

Hi,
I'm currently running a custom ROM, but this issue is present on all ROMs I've tested. I don't like the fact the phone switches to LTE+ when browsing web, since it makes signal drop in strength and speed.
Is there any method to force the phone not to use carrier aggregation?

You disable the band that gets agregated, for example if your carrier supports B3+B7 aggregation, you disable B7 and you wont get LTE+
But it's not a good option because if you get to a zone that is covered by the disabled band you wont get LTE

Question How to lock the Mi11 LTE bands

Hi ,
As I know, the mi11(M2011K2C) only support band28a, but my operater not support that.
I found when the LTE change to band28(LTE 700), the mi11 is swap from LTE to 3G(WCDMA).
May I disable the band? How to do that?
Thanks.

Go to settings- about- all specs- tap the internal memory until it opens the network test page- go to set prefer network type and choose the network types you want to have.
Or by Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Usefull for check connectivity, Dual Sim, IMS, etc...
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
But in this method, only LTE can be selected, and the band in LTE cannot be selected.
Download activity launcher>phone services>set radio band mode(choose the 2nd one coz there's 2 radio band mode in results).
