i have installed Prime Video app on my Samsung S10 phone. when i am trying to watch 4k UHD movies, its still being displayed as 1080pHD movie.
can i able to watch 4k movies on netflix and prime video app on S10 phone ?

At this moment in time, can the rooted Nook color play 720p .mkv videos as well as the Galaxy tab?
I just got the SGT and all of my 720p .mkv videos play buttery smooth and with great blu-ray-like clarity.
Can the nook do this yet?
I am planning to buy another used Samsung Galaxy Tab for my father who loves to watch HD videos. Should I buy a brand new nook color and root the heck out of it in order to play 720p .mkv videos or should I just buy another $400 slightly used SGT and know that it will play 720p .mkv movies out of the box?
Yes it will play it just as smoooth with the stock rom rooted.
Keep in mind that the screen is 1024 x 600 , So the screen is not 720p(1280x720). Its the same with the Tab
So yesterday I got challenged by a friend if my nexus 6 can play pure 4k videos on it or not, I thought that it can play those easily since I've been playing hevc videos on mx player and vlc on my nexus for sometime and it's a powerful phone but I was disappointed when neither mx player nor vlc was able to run it, no hw was supported on mx player and vlc couldn't run it either, so any of you guys have ever played 4k videos on Nexus 6, not converted 4k videos but pure heavy 4k videos, tell me if android lollipop was able to play it and marshmallow can't
All depends on the codec, the higher the efficiency generally the more work the CPU has to do. So H.264 might be easier to view but given the N6 doesn't have a 4k screen, being able to actually view 4k video is kinda worthless. The S805 doesn't even support 4k natively anyway iirc that was a new thing about the 810
So I finally got my Note 7 and it's awesome so far.
One of the biggest feature they were showing was Mobile HDR games and videos.
Games with Vulkan input have HDR. BUT haven't found any.
Netflix and Amazon Prime said they're going to have available HDR movies and shows. BUT also haven't found any. ( Netflix shows HD and not even UHD. I do have the highest subscription plan. Amazon Prime only shows HD.)
Lastly I even downloaded some HDR 4K movie trailers and they don't work. (They do play, but colors are inaccurate because HDR isn't working.)
Any of you guys have successfully tried HDR?

Can anyone put in or share the videos recorded with the galaxy S10 for up to 50 seconds in 4K HDR format for the test?
I'm afraid only in the case of sharing on the forum will lose on quality.
Why redmi k20 pro has only 1080p max resolution for videos playing in YouTube application. My 3yr old lg g5 have qhd video support. Can we enable QHD or 4k support for YouTube video?
The screen is only 1080p.
mine have 2160p,
It's a waste of data and processing.

On default app, it's done automatically based on internet speed (maybe) and the screen resolution.
You can force 4K using the web version of Youtube in Google Chrome.
