Phone overheats when playing videos in MX Player - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

My phone overheats when watching movies in MX Player, as a result the battery drains too quickly. The problem doesn't occur when using VLC, but I'd rather prefer using MX Player. Does anyone else have the problem, and were you able to fix it?

[Q] HELP!Choppy videoplayback and music player interference

Fellow optimus black and android users.....whenever i try to watch a full movie on the device...halfway through, the video gets choppy(the video plays a little slower) and there is a discernible audio-video lag...it has happened with all the movies i have watched so far(all good quality dvdrips which worked perfectly fine on the laptop).......and adding to it the music player opens randomly and arbitrarily while watching movies..which really is annoying..i dunno why it happens.......i have tried the stock player,mx player as well as mobo player.....but the result is the same....Can anyone help me with this??is this a problem only on my device or are there others out there who have experienced the same? Some help on this issue would be appreciated
P.S:The device is brand new and it's barely a week(as on may 23rd) since i purchased it and have watched 8 movies on this with the same result.
anything under 720p should play just fine. maybe you have some background apps running that might affect the player.
you should update your software. that will surely solve the glitch.
off: how come the cowon d3 which is inferior in terms of specs can play full hd mkv but the ob can't?
Hmmmm.......okk Mr Orange i'll try your suggestion and come back to you..thanks for the tip anyway...........
Sounds like some sort of buffering issue as a result of RAM issues either inherently from hardware or more likely some background services.
Have you tried running the movie in s/w or h/w mode? Changing the bit depth?
What software are you running? Stock Froyo, Gingerbread or a modded OS?
Funky Ganja.....it's gingerbread, the stock version

[HELP] Video player quits after 1 hour of playing

I have this bizzare problem on my mobile since the first day I bought it. If I watch a video ~45 minutes and after that I watch another video at about 1 hour of total play time the video player stops responding and after that quits.
That happens with the default player and with MX player too. I guess it's a hardware bug or something?
Anyone else having the same issue?

[Q] Frequent lags when using H/W decoder

Whenever I play videos with my XV, the video is running smoothly for half a second, then freezes for a second and then works again for a short time. This issue repeats itself.
Trying MX Player, I've found that H/W+ decoder makes these play/freeze steps a little shorter, but still doesn't bring great improvement. S/W decoder however plays the video pretty smoothly.
So, does anyone here have any idea about the reason for this H/W decoder issue?
I was wondering if there might be a lib missing or broken.. Which ones are related to this hardware decoding thing?
Please help me!

Nexus 6 Video Playback Lag

Hi all, I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well as any possible suggestions. I have noticed when watching videos I have recorded on my phone via ANY camera app produce fine videos. When I attempt to watch them, however, there is noticeable stuttering and lag where the video does not completely freeze at all but looks almost slightly jumpy. I have uploaded a few of the videos to YouTube and noticed when watching those there is no stuttering. I have not had the chance to try Playback via PC. Does anyone else notice this? Is the phone just lagging playing the natively recorded video files back? I'm only doing 1080p btw, not 4K. Thanks!

mine plays back my 4K recorded videos just fine(of course its not in 4K on the phone when watching)..
Bump! I have this same issue. I thought it was my video recording choppy, but now that I checked on another device I see it's a playback problem. I'm on 5.1.1 T-Mobile Motorola phone.
Anyone? I still have this problem, which is only playback related. If I can give MX player to play the videos things are fine, but somehow Photos eventually takes neck default control and its a pain in my ass!

Video showing green screen [sometimes]

Sometimes when I play video in xperia video or album app, the view will became green. The audio still played but there's no video. But later after not using the phone for a while, the video will be normal again. Does anybody experienced this? Why does this happen? Btw, i'm using stock rom with root access.
Hi,
Sometimes it happens due to some problem with running the video, did you notice the same issue happening on other players? I can strongly recommend the MX Player, been using that ever since 2011 and very rarely I had problems (the problems I had were related to how powerful the device was, as in, the device itself wasn't able to process the video not the player).
All the best,
~Lord
