ctwprofile : false. - Magisk

-edit : ctsprofile just saw i wrote ctw -
So i guess its pretty popular problem here..
i searched all day for an answer, i tried everything i saw and fully wiped my phone couple of times..
i tried to install the module MagiskHide props and it didn't do anything.
i tried to use the emulator with the props command and my phone wasnt in the list there . Xiaomi Mi 9 global ( there is only Europe 9 and it didn't work so i wiped it all from the beginning after i tried it)
i tired to download the edxposedmanager and both riru modules (sandhook and the other one +the core) and it just broke my integrity to false too so i had to wipe my phone and uninstall magisk and my rom and to start it all over again.
and some other stuff that i cant even remember.
i have magisk 20.4 and miui global 12.0.1.
So any help will be welcomed.
its been along time since i rooted my phone. i remember how easy it was a long time ago and have no idea why it became such a pain in the *** to do it now.

help for rooted note 8

Hi guys. I need some help for my rooted galaxy note 8. I had rooted my phone a long ago and all was working good. All apps including banking apps were working fine with magisk hide. But few days ago i wanted to update my phone so i flashed stock rom with odin and updated my device. Earlier my bootloader version was 6 and now its updated to version 8. Then after updating i flashed latest twrp and rooted with magisk. I flashed magisk version 20.1 and magisk manager version was 7.4.0 . Then magisk update was available so i updated to magisk version 20.2 and magisk manager to version 7.5.0 . Now the problem starts. I am facing 3 issues.
1- my phone starts freezing and then reboots randomly. It happens quite frequently atleast 2-3 times in a day. Every time i clear cache partition from twrp but problem persists. I had checked ram also but ram useage is also fine. Please help me with this issue.
2- while searching for the solution of above problem i read somewhere that it might be because of safety net check. Earlier safetynet check was pass but now safety net check was fail. I flashed bypass safety net mod. But when my phone reboot a warning appears that your device has some internal problem. Contact the manufacturer. I pressed ok and phone starts. It seems to work normal but then i realised my device was not connecting to any wifi network. When i click on available wifi nothing happened. So i uninstalled the safety net bypass mod and then wifi start working again.
3- now final thing i want to know. If the above problem did not solve then i have to unroot my phone which i dont want. But if i had to then i dont want to flash stock rom. I want to unroot from magisk app itself. I had edited build.prop file for using samsung health app. So now if i unroot from magisk app will the changes made by me in build.prop file remain or it will revert back. Also will banking apps work or not....
I know its very lengthy post but please help

Try going back to previous version of Magisk. I have Snapdragon N8 so I have supersu. But I did update my A20g with newest Magisk and had an issue. I know you have N8 but was just saying maybe could be new Magisk.

GPay Fix EU ROM

Anyone experiencing GPay issues on EU ROM, I got this working by updating the certificate.
Fingerprint payments - Widevine L1 - Update Certificate
Not tested in store yet, will report back when I get a chance
Before updating cert GPay check had cross on last point re phone security
This is the only thing that stopped me from unlocking the bootloader and flashing the EU Rom. I don't want any problems with GPay in the future so will stick with the Chinese Rom for now.
and this doesn't work for me. I'm going a bit crazy, I use Gpay religiously.
Any ideas?
Just flash back the latest Chinese stock ROM until a fix is found.
I am on the eu rom, with latest magisk, the modified trwp for thos device, and the latest Edxpos3d Canary build installed as well. Initially had an issue with with Pokemon Go not working and Gpay stopped working after I realized that Cts profile in Magisk wasn't passing anymore. I also use Workspace for work and it wouldn't work as well. My Chase and Barclays app worked fine though. I reinstalled the EU Rom again through Twrp and Gpay and Pokemon go worked again with location spoofer as well using Smali Patcher. But today at these store after trying to used Gpay I kept on receiving an error stating thaty device was modified. I tried Rehiding Magisk, installing random Safety Modules to pass safety and it still wouldn't pass. I just installed the MagiskHide Props module from Magisk and I changed my fingerprint to prop to the Pixel 4xls, restarted the phone, and now my Pokemon Go and Gpay work again as well as Passing the Cts Profile in Magisk. I also Forced Basic key attestation in the MagiskHide props module using terminal. The command in terminal for this module is used by executing "su" (without quotes) for root access in terminal and then running command "props" without quotes

interesting - changing the build.prop passes CTS? If so then it can be fixed with next EU rom release

Have you commented on the bug list for the 10 ultra in the Xiaomi.EU forum to let them know how you fixed yours? It is them who can get it added to the next fixes
Hello, thanks a looot for sharing your solution!
I've a little problem with this part: "and I changed my fingerprint to prop to the Pixel 4xls"
I don't find whereor how change this setting!
Please could you let me know how?
Thanks you so much!

I haven't posted how I fixed this on the Xiaomi EU forum.
The curious thing is that I bootlooped my phone two days ago by installing the Viper Module from Magisk and again I couldn't pass the Cts profile in Magisk. My safetynet failed. Pokemon Go would keep on asking me to login and Gpay wouldn't work.
I fixed this again by using MagiskHide Module but this time using the latest Magisk Canary build. The normal Magisk 20.4 works fine as well.
The fix is to root your phone using Magisk, install Magisk via Twrp, install the Magisk Manager Apk. Once in Magisk Manager install the HideMagisk Module.
Also have a terminal app installed. Once you have gotten to this step in terminal run command "su" without quotes.
After execute command "props"
Follow the instructions that the terminal gives to you but only updating Force Basic Key Attestation and change the Fingerprint prop value. Both values can be set to the Pixel 4xls. This only seems to break Google Chrome for me. I can only fix the chrome issue by uninstalling the MagiskHide Prop.
Installing Edexposed after all of this breaks everything again so don't attempt to install Edxposed. It breaks SafetyNet.
Any news about a Google Pay fix? Thanks a lot

So is Gpay working on EU rom?
Do you have to root your phone to install the EU rom?
The issue is with the rom or the root?
Thanks
Tried today at 5 Guys, the phone scanned about 30cm from the card reader.
No issues.
I've finally fixed Gpay or it seems working now...
Thanks a lot to this thread and the authors!!!
So after installing Magisk and MagiskHide (i've activated it and also selected every Google app in my phone, also if unecessary), I've used a terminal app, like Termux, then I've typed:
Su
Props
In this menu I've changed the fingerprint profile with Google Pixel 4x (worked for me), then I've enabled "Force the basic key attestation", rebooted the smartphone and WOW!
Cts profile fixed!!!
Thanks a lot!!!!
NOTE: I think the most important part after Magisk and MagiskHide was enable "Force Basic key attestation", so perhaps is unuseful change also the fingerprint profile... How I can re-set the original profile in Mi 10 Ultra?
Same fixed I posted on another thread and this one for this forum. Glad it worked for you as well. So it confirms that changing the prop values fixes this issue
I'm running 20.9.3and this doesn't work for me. I'm going a bit crazy, I use Gpay religiously.
Security Screen on gpay
Error I get
All my certs are up to date
Any ideas?

Exact same issue here. Any solution would be great SafetyNet passed, Widevine L1 but still
It seems to be an issue with the (for now latest weekly) 20.9.24 eu rom. This didn't seem to happen with the first weekly (20.9.3) and the latest stable rom (xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10Ultra_V12.0.10.0.QJJCNXM_v12-10) also doesn't seem to have safetynet or L1 problems. Thus no need to root the device with either of those roms to solve the issue. Imo, rooting to solve the issue is creating another issue which needs constant attention and thus a bigger problem (security risk) than the one it is supposed to be a sollution for.
In my opinion some ppl like to take risk while modifying their device. I root my phones for the purpose of breaking it and fixing in while it being my daily driver.
Just like why unlock the bootloader on your device if you are already compromising the security of your device for trying to install the eu rom.

Are you sure that V12.0.10.0 has no problems? As I have 20.9.3 and it's broken for me.
Odd, it was fine with that beta for me earlier, just did a check and the 12.0.10.0 now fails the CTS - although I haven't had any problems with it. Widevine is still L1 though.

For me this worked fine. I had no Problems. I just flashed the eu rom and it worked fine out of the box.

Note9 Randomly Reboots and Partly Goes Back to a Previous State

Hey guys!
I recently flashed my Galaxy Note9 (SM-N960F, One UI 2.5) with TWRP and Magisk, all being the latest version. However my phone would just reboot randomly and I could barely find a pattern. I could only infer that the reboot is system level since most of the time I was launching a system-level app like Bixby, Torch, or just simply swipe down the notification panel. If related, 19:30 seems to be the time my phone would definitely reboot recently.
By ''partly goes back to a previous state' I mean some of my apps would be replaced to their factory version. Like I used YouTube Vanced, and after this one reboot it went back to its factory version. And Gboard was exiled of all its permissions once. My Edge Panel was reset after one boot. Some of the adb tweaks were reset.
I'm half sure this is a kernel problem, and the only modifications I did to my kernel were Magisk and Universal DM-Verity. I don't know if it's a DM-Verity problem.
I tried to disable my root permission for apps but it didn't help. Also Googled how to catch system logs but none of these worked.
If you're experiencing the same problem or have an idea of how to solve this issue please feel free to leave a comment!

Happened to me as well few months ago.
I suspect it is related to safetynetfix or hideprop. I used safetynetfix for samsung, and update latest hideprop, now i never experienced the random reboot.

Thanks for the reply! I just flashed Universal SafetyNet Fix. Now my phone is stuck in bootloop. It would just reboot infinitely. May I possibly get the SafetyNet Fix you're using?

Thanks a lot! My phone now boots normaly and it's a Success on SafetyNet. Hope no more random reboots afterwards.
I'm particularly curious what variant of DM-Verity did you use? I googled for DM-Verity for Samsung this morning and did get a Samsung-only patch. I'm not sure if DM-Verity patch could contribute to these reboots.

The right A12 ROMs rooting procedure

After searching the forum thoroughly, trying multiple found solutions and trying to find the answer on my own I decided to ask here. What is the right procedure to clean flash A12 AOSP-based roms and getting root?
Some time ago, after updating to A11 rom, I noticed I can't use Magisk the way I used to to root my device - 'no ramdisk' status made me forget about rooting for a while. Now I want it back at any cost. This is why I want you to answer some of my questions, including the one above:
1. Is 'ramdisk: no' status caused by A11 and above versions?
2. Is there a way to have ramdisk status 'yes' on A12 ROM to root the device without having to patch boot.img?
3. Magisk installation doc has totally different way of rooting in my situation. According to it, for ramdisk status 'no' the only solution is 'Magisk in Recovery'. However, every time I saw someone talk about no ramdisk magisk patching, they were patching the boot image - it works fine and is even suggested by Magisk app. Who is wrong here and which solution is the right one?
4. Is there a way to get SafetyNet to pass on patched boot.img? Is there a way to get it to pass on a rooted A12 rom?
5. Some time ago, I have accidentally flashed european vendor instead of chinese one (I own chinese K20 Pro). I had no problems with it so I ran it for a few months and then flashed it back to chinese. Might this be the source of ramdisk issue?
Big thank you to anyone who replies. I have no important data on my device so there is no need for a data-safe solution. I feel like existing flashing/rooting guides seem outdated as they mention A10 at best. After more than 2 years of owning this device I still love it and am not going to replace it anytime soon and I hope there are still people like me! Cheers!

Although Magisk official guide on Github is not clear about, for MIUI you should patch boot.img, not recovery, and do not pay attention to Ramdisk no.
However, when patching boot.img, watch to the log window and you will see it reports there that it found Ramdisk
And that procedure works fine on A11 as well - I have it (MIUI 12.5.2 on my side)
I suppose you have the official A11 and you installed over custom A12 ROM).
Old Magisk v23 was released before A12, hence you should IMO go for the new Canary or Alpha 23016
Btw, you will be IMO better askung in the Magisk General XDA thread

I am aware of Magisk Canary, I used it to root my current A12 rom. Yes, I flashed it over the latest chinese MIUI firmware. Is there any way to pass SafetyNet with it though?

If you are on Canary 23016 (latest), you must enable Zygisk, and reboot
Then enable Enforce DenyList and go to Configure DenyList, enable Show System and OS apps, find Google Play Services and checkmark com.google.android.gms and
com.google.android.gms.unstable, and reboot again
If you were on the official, certified ROM, that would be enough to pass SafetyNet (since new Magisk app has no more the built-in SN checker, use one from PlayStore like YASNAC)
With your custom ROM you would probably need Universal Safety Net Fix= USNF 2.2.1 (latest).
Maybe even Magisk Hide Props Config (if USNF not enough) to spoof your unofficial/not Google certified ROM fingerprints - you will need to figure out (pain in the ass with custom ROMs)

I dont have this model phone but i faced the same problem, i just flashed ArrowOS S along with magisk but i didnt realised it has now ramdisk no, before i was using AICP and it has ramdisk yes, so i installed latest version of magisk and the system updated but i dont have root anymore, what can i do?
I use OrangeBox for flashing
Edit: also it does replace the custom recovery?

Question SafetyNet ctsProfile failing to pass

Hey guys, I could really use your help with this. I'm on Zenfone 8 Flip, but that shouldn't really matter in this case. I tried every possible thing I found online, every fix but nothing seems to work. I can pass basicIntegrity check, but nothing works on ctsProfile. I'm on stock rooted ROM.
EDIT: Okay so dumb me actually installed the wrong version of Universal SafetyNet Fix. I was supposed to install Riru version for stable Magisk but I had Zygisk version instead.
