K20 pro 5G? - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Our cpu supports 5G modem is there anyway to port 5G by modding kernels? Also the wifi 6

Please reply anyone

No.

The SD855 has the X24 modem internal to the SoC. This is not a 5G modem. What it has is support for an optional, external (to the SoC) X50 modem, which is 5G. This phone does not have the optional X50 modem and so has zero 5G capabilities.

Possible to reveal missing basebands?

As seems Xiaomi unfortunately decided not to bring the pro version to Europe (no mi 9t pro) I am wondering if it is possible to make the missing B20 available on the Redmi K20 pro.
I am guessing it is not hardware limitation, right?
It's maybe not hardware limited. But need the current Qualcomm QPST tool to configure LTE bands for 845 and later SOC 855.
The previous version QPST tool (can find in XDA)can only add bands for old SOCs like 820/835 etc.
Some newer QPST tool can be downloaded from other site, but need a available account to log in.
isn't mi 9 using the same modem (x24)? Perhaps we can use its baseband

Same hardware, different configuration file, maybe the baseband partition is strongly encrypted by Qualcomm.
I've tried to force flashing mi 8 firmware into poco f1 (same SOC, and f1 lacks some frequency bands), no baseband is added to poco f1.
So I guess, if users force flashing mi 9 firmware into k20pro, k20pro's baseband may not change.
Sounds not promising
Hopefully we'll find something anyway

Started looking into this for the Redmi Note 7 Pro which as we know never had a global release. I live in the United States and need more bands to get decent coverage. Sounded complicated with the possibility of bricking the phone. I'll have to wait for the official global release if it does come. They didn't rule it out yet as they did before the Redmi Note 7 global version came out. These were some comments earlier on GSMArena about possible delays. https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-xiaomi-mi-9t-pro-global-t3939580
Does not sound promising, indeed.
I really need B20 for Germany, so I am really thinking about getting the Lenovo Z6 instead. Yes I know, it has a small notch but I need a replacement.
Will this work? https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note/general/unlock-lte-bands-step-step-xiaomi-mi-t3084774
No go for Band 20, but lots of people managed to unlock Band 4 in this thread. I'd love to hand band 4 on the K20 Pro.

If I remember correctly Xiaomi Mi Note has Snapdragon 810. To be functional in the Xiaomi K20 Pro we would need a version of QPST and QXDM updated and functional with SD 845 and 855, as the partner above said.
Maybe it will be possible soon, do not dismiss it. We must be optimists.

I doubt that is true. Bands have nothing to do with the ROM

I saw a post on how to Flash stock rom on Oppo Reno 10x Zoom (Snapdragon 855) using QPST_2.7.460, is that the needed tool for band unlock?

Really? I have sold my f1 several months ago due to bands lacking. So I don't pay continuous attention to poco. Please post a site address

"NOTE: This page is auto-generated for the Xiaomi Poco F1, based on the device’s information, located here. You can find similar instructions for every officially-supported device on this wiki."
That is, they are the specifications of the mobile phone, it does not mean that LineageOS activates all the bands.

I thought the same when I saw this info, but if you look further at other releases and ROMs for another device, you'll notice they are very careful with this info. You will notice too that it's many bands, but it's not all.
I guess if Mi9 has already, we'll find a way (eventually) to unlock the bands.
its must be a stuppid question, but what have we got to loose, right...
Did anyone tried Network Signal Guru ?
cheers
Does anyone have their hands on a device currently? If so, are you able to enter qualcomm diag by entering *#*#717717#*#* in keypad?

not working

k20 pro vs 9t pro

is there any difference between these two apart from ROM? Will chinese k20 pro NFC work when I flash a custom rom?
asking because will buy one soon, k20 is cheaper but I've seen on gsmarena that k20pro nfc works only in china and that's basically the only thing that would force me to choose it over 9tpro

networks in every country that I've been so far (europe/scandinavia) work well on redmi note 3 which has less band support, should be fine, no?
there's that `NFC (china only)` thing in K20 column, will I be able to use it in europe after flashing a custom rom?

You can use it with the Chinese ROM. Not sure where this has come from that it only works in China. The issue is more about tap to pay apps don't work on the Chinese ROM. I know GPay doesn't play with Chinese MIUI, but not sure what else doesn't.
Once you've installed a custom ROM, then it's irrelevant (obviously excluding Indian models) which version of the phone you have. Any fixes required to get financial and tap to pay apps will work on all models with NFC hardware.

K20 Pro is released in China and India. Indian model, despite sharing the name, doesn't have NFC.
K20 PRO / Mi9T PRO ROM
I have mine ( K20 PRO ) with Mi9T PRO Global ROM. Everything works fine in, NFC works too.
Is the global Mi 9T Pro with dual band GPS?

Yes.. both official stable global and eea.
Be aware of the differences between the Chinese K20Pro and the Indian.
Chinese: no band 20, no widevine L1 after flashing non stock rom
Indian: no NFC, no band 20, no widevine L1 after flashing non stock rom.
Also there are hardware differences between the K20Pro and the 9T Pro.
Read very well all topics around flashing forward and back from stock to different Rom's and disregarding some don'ts put many here with a bricked or semi-bricked phone!!!

The only known hardware difference between all models is that the Indian model does not have the NFC coil. Otherwise they are identical.

No hardware/software wise band 20 is not there and it is a Qualcomm firmware thingy that blocked band 20 for all K20(Pro).
You can flash any Rom that you want but on as well the Indian as the Chinese K20(Pro) band 20 is not available.

Yes, but that is firmware, like your say. Physical hardware is the same, it's the firmware (software) controlling it that is different.

Question Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G China is MTK!

Hello Experts!
Apparently my Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G China version is MTK! I bought it thinking it was Qualcomm and that I could easily switch my China Rom to the Global Rom like always. Unfortunately I failed to consider the chipset. I initiated the Rom update and Hard bricked my phone.
On the computer under Devices and drivers THE MTK version quickly flash and disappear with the sound that indicates that the phone is alive within but dead outside.
Please help me find the appropriate flash files to restore my firmware.
It used Dimensity 1100 mediatek, maybe you can ask in the telegram group. Btw can you enter fastboot mode

Sigh, I have a hunch that your Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G is Poco X3 GT for global market (https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_poco_x3_gt-10949.php)
Next time, take some time to see whether this redmi note 10 pro (global) is indeed different than redmi note 10 pro (china)

Question Xiaomi Mi 11/PRO - possible to unlock 5G 2600MHz band in China model?

Hi. I'm wondering is it possible to unlock 5G 2600MHz band(n38) in China model. I'm using SIM card in Poland and my operator(Plus) provide 5G only in 2600MHz frequency.
Is there someone who succesfully unlocked this band in Mi 11 or Mi 11 PRO? Maybe change ROM to xiaomi.eu unlock this band?
